Recently I bricked my Vibrant pretty seriously, I did a lot of searching and found that many people were experiencing the very same issue but few of them were able to find a solution.
I want to share exactly how I manged to get my phone restored, just in case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation.
*** PLEASE READ FULL POST CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING ***
The problem
After an Odin restore I found my phone was caught in a recovery loop and I was continually getting the following error:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/st110 (Invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA: copy default media content failed
The solution
Eventually I found this bit of info provided by user Windowlicker on the Samsung Galaxy S Forums.
Put your phone to download mode (hold down: volume down, home key, power)
Do not plug in your phone yet.
Start Odin3
Tick "Re-Partition", and also check that "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" have been ticked.
Click "PIT" button and select s1_odin_20100512.pit file.
Now, plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button... <Firmware update start...> <Get PIT for mapping...> appear. The phone will turn off and the screen indicates "Reset". Wait until Odin indicates "Pass".
Plug out your phone, remove the battery, put it back in and put phone to download mode again.
Click "Reset" button in Odin and untick "Re-Partition" box.
Do not select PIT file again. Just leave it empty.
Click "PDA" button and select "CODE" file.
Click "MODEM" button and select "MODEM" file.
Click "CSC" button and select "CSC" file.
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button and wait until phone reboots with the new software version.
(When it comes to the restore step I found that I needed to go back to the Stock 2.1 Vibrant ROM, JI2 & JI6 wouldn't work for me.)
I hope this info helps some folks out, I had completely given up on trying to restore, and I ordered a replacement from T-Mobile. A couple days later I found this solution. Now I'm waiting to receive a phone I no longer need, and will find a nice $20 delivery charge on my next TMO bill. The price of giving up too quickly I guess.
***ADDITIONAL NOTES BASED ON USER FEEDBACK***
I've noticed many people are getting stuck on the 7th step, 'where you are asked to remove the battery and place the phone in download mode'. I cannot stress enough that you need to be extremely patient during this step and should not remove the battery until after Odin indicates pass. This could take as long as 10 to 30 minutes, failure to wait could result in a 'true brick'.
Another step missing from the original instructions is to remove the External SD and SIM cards before starting this process. I'm not completely certain what the technical reason is behind this, but it does seem to help the process along.
Before starting it might also be to good make sure the screen saver and sleep modes on your PC are disabled, as some steps take a while and it might be possible for either of these processes to interrupt it.
Finally, I again want to stress patience. If during any step, things seem like they are taking longer than you think they should, go and make a sandwich, maybe play a game or watch some TV and give it a little while longer. Letting the phone sit too long during a step won't cause any problems, but removing it too soon could cause a brick.
Are there MODEM and CSC files for the Vibrant? I don't think I've seen any.
im wondering also
Click "PDA" button and select "CODE" file.
Click "MODEM" button and select "MODEM" file.
Click "CSC" button and select "CSC" file.
i know to select the update as pda but what for modem and csc
If you are using the 'Original Samsung Factory 2.1 ROM' then you will only need to select a 'PIT' file and the 'ROM' file.

I can't get in to download mode. No matter what combination of buttons I use it just dumps me to the Android system recovery <2e> with the error:
E: Can't mount /dev/block/st110 (invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA
copy default media content failed.
Any ideas? This happened after I accidentally re-partitioned with the JI6 instead of the 2.1 true stock ROM.

This happened to me as well, Try this—remove your battery and disconnect the USB cable. Then re-insert the battery and immediately press and hold both volume down and power. This should get you into download mode.
Also as a side note, before you start this process it's probably a good idea to make sure both your SIM card and external SD card (if youre using one) are both removed. Once your phone is up and running again you can put them back.
can someone please help me with my vibrant .....i searched everywhere and cant find any answers ....my vibrant wont boot past the samsung vibrant screen ....but the audio from the samsung galaxy video plays and my keys are light up ....i rooted and installed bionix and had it working fully but then like a dummy i ran the wrong back up and screwed my phone does anyone know how to fix this problem .....?

Thanks the info posted in this link worked for me, I flashed my phone with a froyo Rom and Kernel also a few mods. And after trying to restore to a J16 Stock Rom I got caught in a boot loop. But this helped thanks again
Thank you soooo much for this thread, after trying to go back to stock rom from a custom rom for a friend this error happened. Followed your guide and it work. Save my boy from having to buy a new Vib. Man props to you.
I've got a similar issue but the steps listed on your link did not help. Any other advice? I accidentally pressed the power button while in recovery mode while "delete davlick cache" or whatever it is was highlighted and since then it boots up the the galaxy s screen and no more. The buttons light up but that is it. Thanks in advance for any help!

yours is actually an easy fix, just boot back to recovery and tell it to erase user data. basically what you did was delete the java temp files, and it's freezing when trying to find those. doing a data wipe should fix it.
just an FYI,the original 2.1 and eugene's froyo rom from the unbranded galaxy s both work,J12 and J16 do not and will show the same error.
It worked! Thank you so much.
it doesnt work for me =[ . i still have the darn problem after doing that : boot loop and E:\Can't mount
i dont have the CSC file . i downloaded the JF2 modem and the original firmware 2.1 .
any help ? i nailed down the download screen pretty good by now . i tried this method ( the only i found so far )
up untill the part of the pda csc and phone part i dont understand, do i need to put files to each one, what do i do with them? they're blank, but pit has the odin_20100512. what do i put for the others? and what do i do with the JFD file and the bit download?

No worries, the 'pit' file goes in the pit field as you have figured out, while the 'jfd' file goes in the PDA field. All of the other fields remain blank.
my Vibrant has been stuck on the Vibrant/Samsung boot screen for hours now and I'm planning on trying this as a fix once i get home from work, or possibly on lunch.
I was getting the E:Can't mount right before all this started to happen, but since then the only portion of my phone I have had access to was the Downloading mode.
Sounds like it has been helpful for some, so I hope to be able to count myself in the ranks soon, but for right now, being phone-less really sucks...
Oh is there any part that I should take *extra* care doing?

Just make sure you precisely follow the instructions, if you get impatient or interrupt any of the sequences you will definitely run into problems as some steps could take 10 minutes or more.
Another good tip might be to disable the screensaver on your computer while trying this fix. This step isn't an absolute must, but another "just in case" precaution you could take.
Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

Hello, please help me.
I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant this after noon. I used to have a motorola milestone, but it has a stubborn physical damage, and died. That milestone, really, kept my life together. With all the rich apps. Then, like I said, this after noon I bought a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant.
At first, I successfully rooted it, then I successfully unlocked it too. Then, I must have made a huge mistake, and then it moved to a continuous boot.
I have spent hours and hours now trying to figure out how to save my 2 hour baby.
Right now, it is continuously loading the boot screen on and off. The odd thing is, when it is plugged into with a USB, the picture changes to a spinny wheel which also repeats continuously).
Can anyone help me?
PS. I can not go into download mode, or recovery as my device, apparently, is hardware locked.
What file did you flash?
Your trying the volume keys/usb/battery method for download mode?

Stupidly, I believed I Odin-ed a file named "T959UVJI6.rar". Which if I remember right, is a custom kernel. I never really understood the whole kernel ordeal. I used to have a motorola milestone, which, I would do all all sorts of things to with no problem. But, that never included kernels. And for the most part, it didn't have any hardware key lock.
I, think, I need to do the jig mod-y thingy.

I'm not sure how, because, apparently, my samsung's 3 keys are locked. I have tried so many times, but, it never works. Sadly.
Try to ODIN back to JFD.
Follow my guide (signature) and use my files.
To get into odin:
load odin, load the pit and tar (don't check anything, it does it automatically)
connect usb to pc
power down phone and pull battery
plug in usb to phone
hold in both volume buttons (keep holding) and plug in battery
if it show download mode after 5 seconds, and odin shows a COM# (yellow box) click start on ODIN
wait for the phone to finish... you will then have a stock JFD and you can start over.

Umm. At this point, with all my searching, I think I am missing something (mentally). Like I said, the 3 button combination never works. I have tried every combination I could possibly think of, every technique I saw, and held for every possible length of time; yet, I still got nothing. I believe I have one of those phones that are locked in that area. As I read, newer Samsung galaxy models are becoming locked.
That being said, I think mine is one of those.
Sadly.
Anyways, same as any of the 1 thousand attempts, when I (again) did those exact steps, my screen just continuously flashed a non-spinning spinney wheel.
Yours is a simple dilemma, complicated by the hardware lock... idk how but i remember there Was a thread about unlocking it.. just look for it, i think it wus in the general section
Sent from a cell tower to the XDA server to you.
^ ironically it was the JI6 update that alleviated a lot of the "hardware locked" Vibrants.
Have you tryed making a JIG? It helps if you can't get into download mode

The easiest way I've found to get into download mode is to do this:
Take out the battery.
Hold down only the volume down button.
Plug in the USB cable.
That should put you into download mode automatically.

Yes, I have, actually. I found it really hard though. Mainly because the wires were way too small. But, the reason I gave up, is because the resistor is larger then the wire, and so, needed very precise soldering. I could've used the back, but, all usbs are different; and the ones i had, were very much different then all the demonstrations videos i watched.
PS I am actually buying a stick online.

Yeah, but from what I remember, that software, just forced the samsung into download or recovery mode. From there, then the person would just mod a file to change that. But, my phone wont even do as the force says.... in the first place... It has always, just stayed in the continuous boot phase...

On another hand, I have a iPod Touch 1G, lol.
Did you perhaps flash Gingerbread Bootloaders? If you did then the combo to get into Download Mode is Vol up and power. Try that?
Mine sometimes takes a few goes. What usually works on Froyo Bootloaders is to take out battery, unplug phone, hold down vol up and down with my thumb, plug in then put in battery.... usually results in DL mode.
Goodluck!

I wish there was a physical jig seller in Vancouver (where I live).
The button combos don't work on my phone. Sadly. It was the newly made models with the button combo block.
If it helps, before, when I could go into that option, I did it by using a toolkit and making it put me to recovery/download mode.
UPDATE! I had someone help me fix it, but he failed too. It now just hangs on the boot show thingy. (rather then flashing). Oddly, my cell can still access the computer, which I think is a good thing. As in, when I plug it while the screen stays put, my computers makes a sound. What could this mean? CMD to download mode?
As for boot loader, I highly doubt it. Since, I have had no reason to look-up what they are. ehhe.
So it's on a screen with a big yellow triangle or little cell/triangle/computer? If so, AWESOME!
Once in that mode, start Odin on the pc, then plug in... Do you get a yellow COM with some numbers show up? If so, load up the JFD tar in the pda section, the 512 pit in the pit section, repartition, and hit start... If that doesn't work... Maybe try Eugene's froyo that will not brick?
If someone got you into dl mode, sounds like you may not be hardware locked after all?
------
If the computer sees it you could also try adb to get to download mode. I'm not experienced with the program, but I believe you can get into download mode with it with only a few command lines.
Which Odin are you using? Sometimes v3 and v7 play differently with my phone.... Try the other?

Nononon, it is stuck on the galaxy text boot screen thingy. In other words, just like before, but this time it isnt flashing continuously. If it was the big yellow thingy, oh thank god... i wish.
As for that someone putting me in hardware lock, from my understanding, the only way to unbrick a locked device is through a jig. That being said, I searched up where I live for anyone with a jig, and to my luck, only one group had it. So I went there, and bam, it can now somewhat access the computer.
NOTE: I am going to receive a built jig in the mail in a few days.
From what I know, having a locked device, means, a jig is a must.
As for ADB, I am looking all over for instructions how to use that, but, I can't really find any through ones.
I'm not sure if it is a bad thing, but I used Odin Mullti downloader V.4 and EZOdin.
I am really unfamiler with this samsung galaxy.
I did everything possible with ,y Motorola Milestone.

IDK why this program is SO overlooked, and everybody, always advises to do the long redundant method, this program has saved me alot of soft bricks, plus easy restore to JFD
Go to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509

Then download it, ODINS inside the program already, its as easy as it gets, U cant f--k up, unless your an idiot! Just follow the instructions to the "T" it will automatically put you in DL mode and will provide the two files you need to restore your T-959 to stock Eclair JFD from there you can start to re-MOD, although I suggest you start reading everything first about modding and flashing first, including building a DL folder to stash everything you may need to fall upon for the future plus what you'll need once you've mapped out a plan to Mod your phone with whatever ROM, themes Kernel's, ETC!!!

Ahha, thank you for the suggestion, but, that wont do. It was my original fix, towards getting into recovery/download mode. But, for some sad reason, it doesn't work for bricked devices. In simple, it just says device is not find. Ironicly, the computer makes a sound with the cell is plugged in, but, thats about it apparently.
Oh yes, the cell has to have USB debugging activated. But, since I have a bricked, it can't go within the phone to find it.
NOTE: it has always been in debugging mode.
Please Help me out.
I was using CynogenMod7 ROM. Could not write on my external SD card or mount it .
So decided to go back to Stock froyo firmware.
Tried ODIN to flash to my stock froyo firmware.
Had done it many many many a times earlier with success.
But ODIN could'nt complete the process, it kept on getting struck at Kernel and Factory some times.
Later thought there might be something wrong with bootloader.
Downloaded stock froyo bootloader.
Tried to ODIN the bootloader and got Struck at SBL many times ,Kept on trying then got struck at PARAM.
Removed the battery.
From than on NO Response what so ever combination buttons used.
No battery indicators,No light on Home keys, No signs of any power. Nothing Visible on screen & keys.
Tried usb JIG - no response.
Tried Ultimate UnBrick Resurrector-No response.
No lights .
Please solve my problem.
This may not work because I discovered this by accident. I bricked my phone so bad it looked like it wouldn't even turn on too. So, hopefully this works. Make sure you have your samsung drivers installed. Open Odin and connect the USB to the computer but not to the phone. Do a battery pull and do the three button boot, simultaneously connecting the USB to the phone. Most likely, nothing will happen. Hopefully, the phone will connect to Odin. Then, click start. That's right. Don't put any pit or tar files in, just click start. Hopefully, your phone will reboot to the vibrant screen and is stuck there. If it does, now you can reboot to download mode and Odin whatever files you wanted. If it doesn't work, just keep messing with the three button boot. I apologize for wasted time if it doesn't work. These steps are what I personally did on my phone. Hopefully, it works for you.
Sorry to say but I believe you have hard bricked your phone. If installing bootloaders goes wrong then your phone can turn into a paper weight. You could maybe try a jtag repair but I'm not sure it would help. You could call samsung and ask for a replacement, tell them you updated with kies or something but that's not exactly the truth

OK first, the stock images are 2.1 eclair not 2.2 froyo. Are you sure you have the right files? Are you sure your phone is a t959(3g, no front camera)and not t959v(4g, has front camera). Second, it sounds like a hard brick, if all else fails go to www.mobiletechvideos.com and check out the unbrickable mod and JTAG repair.
If you get your phone in DL mode and you have the correct Odin images, check the repartition box as well as others and run it.
Good luck

Remove battery and sim and microsd. Leave out and press and hold power for 30 seconds or so. Leave battery out for a few minutes.
Put battery in and if you are on GB bootloader hold volume up and plug in USB. Might get you to download mode.
I did that with a friends phone about a year ago and got lucky. Odin recognized it. I read that somewhere here on XDA. May be a shot in the dark... but when you get desperate any new ideas to try can be a relief right?
Good luck to you.
After I messed with bootloaders and then tried to get back to stock with Kies I had this problem.

I called Samsung and told them that I was just trying to upgrade to 2.2 with their software and they replaced my PCB (printed circuit board) for no cost (including shipping). I have no idea if they tried to figure out if I had really used Kies (if they could even figure it out with the state my phone was in) or if they just replaced the PCB blindly. Worth a shot, I'd say!
Thanks for your concern.

Sorry to say this but your phone is hard bricked, as in nothing can save it but a JTAG or warranty service. You can try to call Samsung and say you hard bricked your phone cause of kies, it worked for another.

HELP!
I need help with my Samsung galaxy SGH-T959 Vibrant I got bricked so I was fixing it with odin until my phone fell and it disconnected and red letters and numbers came out. when I try turning my phone on it doesn't until I press the buttons to go to download mode those red numbers come out and I can't do anything. Please Help
When you pulled the battery, after it hung up with Odin, you corrupted the primary Bootloader, because it wasn't completely written in......Last weak possible option is to try every rocker/battery/cable sequence ETC, to get Odin to handshake with the phone!!.....If there's still no sign of life after doing that....Your only option will be to have it JTAG,d in order to rewrite the primary bootloader file back in it.....it'll never power on unless the primary bootloader executes properly!!....you can corrupt the 2ndary BL and the phone will only be soft bricked, but a primary BL corruption is phone DEATH!!....Only place I know of that's reliable is: mobiletechvideos.com....send it to them, they'll rewrite the primary BL back in it and I think 2.1 or 2.2 for you and mail the phone back to you!!....Good luck let us know if you got it powered on with any combination, as that could save another Bricker from having to send it out!!

Tried to odin back to stock because I recently made a deal on the phone and I havent used it in forever. Honestly I dont remember what ROM I was on but if it helps any the ROM home screen is the Blue tinted zippolighter wall paper. I never changed it after flashing so hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about. I can access download mode thru holding down the power button and that menu pops up that lets you choose if you want to reboot/reboot recovery/or get in download mode.
Odin recognizes the phone fine and once I choose the PIT and Tar file and hit start it only gets as far as the cache.rfs and thats it. I soft bricked it once and used the one click method to unbrick it but every time I try to Odin it keeps getting stuck at the same point cache.rfs. Can anyone help me please, thanks in advance. Dont mean to sound like a total nOOb its just been a really long time since I've used this phone so i dont remember the Rom.
Just to clarify some things, I have never seen an option to go into DL mode by holding power button while phone is on ??? Are you sure you have a vibrant? What ROM???

Make sure you right click odin and run as administrator. If it fails again do NOT close odin ! Load the pit and tar files again without closing odin and hit start again. It should flash properly after a few more tries, If it doesn't then try switching usb ports on your pc but do not close odin. Let us know if it still doesn't work.

He means when his phone is fully booted up. You can hold power to cut the phone off, reboot, reboot recovery and reboot download mode. That's what I took from it anyway.

OP, you were/are running Deranged9 (Froyo). It was the ROM that has the zippo as the home screen wallpaper.
Since you are getting stuck at that point and you haven't Odin'd in awhile, it sounds like you have a corrupted download. Usually it will get stuck at cache or modem if it is a broken down file. Might want to redownload them or you can download the AIO Toolbox from my signature. It has all the drivers, pit/tar files you'll need.
Download mode from pushing power is nothing more than an EPM (extended power menu). Pretty common.
Congrats to you Wood for deciphering the op!

Ya, me, Fishman and a few others were the pioneers on that ROM. So when he said the zippo, I knew immediately what he was talking about. I still use JCC's Toxic8 as my "home " Froyo ROM, although it is very heavily tweaked and almost doesn't resemble the original too much anymore. But hey, when i am on it I can get almost 2 full days with mod-heavy use.
Wow... I might get two days if I never wake it up.

Finally received the phone back, thank you for helping with verifying the ROM I have on the phone. Here's another problem that hopefully you can help me with. Now I do not have a homescreen nor can I access the settings/apps pages. All I get is the lockscreen, when I slide the unlock button the screen just goes black. Theres no way for me to access the phone settings to put it in debugging mode per the AIO toolbox instructions here

That sounds like a bad flash to me. I think your Launcher is missing and with no backup, like LPP or ADW, you unlock into, well nothing.
Are you keeping your phone or selling it? I would put Fish's Bionix on there either way. Just need to get it to boot up. Fish has an Odin file for it too.

Hello friends,
I have a Galaxy S3 - i9300 and it seems that I was luck enough to get a good half sds, I am no expert so I can be sure of nothing...
Here are the symptoms:
In the last weeks I had a few resets and freezes but they were so unnusual that I simply did not care.
My S3 is 4.0.4 if I am not wrong, I only rooted it after buying back on september 2012 and did not update afterwards.
Overnight something happened to my phone, when I woke up it was in a constant loop: the "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300" kept appearing and disappearing over and over again.
Sometimes it goes beyond that message up to the classic "Samsung" animation but then the company name keeps shinning and nothing else happens.
I can get to clockwork recovery mode, but once it starts I get a few messages telling me that it cannot mount /cache and another one telling me it cannot open /cache.
I can navigate through all menus of recovery mode but all "format" options seems to freeze the phone, I can get to download mode without any issues.
By using Download mode + Odin I tried to install a Stock ROM I got from Sammobile, in fact I tried 3 different roms, all of them seem to get stuck at "Write NAND". During the "Writing NAND" my phone shows the classic blue progress bar completly full but I get no update from neither Odin or my phone.
It's curious to note that the bar get instantly to 100%.
I tried using GT-I9300_mx_20120220.pit / GT-I9300_mx_20120329.pit and desperatly mx.pit All of them got perfectly applied to my phone but did not help.
Yes, I tried to install all 3 roms after each .pit change and I did restart my computer.
No Kies proccesses were running during any of these steps I have taken.
I am desperate.
Not "Oh my god what should I do with my life" desperate. Something more like "My freacking 500 bucks!!"
I dont know if that is allowed or not but I am willing to donate a beer or two to whoever helps me recover my phone. If the person would prefer charity I can buy and donate some clothes to some local institution and send a picture of my action taken with my recovered phone xD
Thank You in advance.
If you have not flashed anything besides OFFICIAL ROMs (I.E: CF-Root or similar) that increases your binary counter (red little mark on the left top corner of screen) yo haven't voided your warranty, so you can send it back to Samsung tecchies

The problem is, my counter is actually on five, I do recall in my "Hey, a new toy!" week I have tried different custom firmwares but then I got all crazy about it and got back to a Official ROM, the counter was already on 5 by the time I returned to stock, if I somehow get samsung to take my phone I don`t believe they would take my word and restore my phone, nor I can prove to anyone that its a stock ROM that I have on it...
Anyway, I will try to contact Samsung tomorrow but my phone is the internacional one, I bought it in the USA but I live in Brazil... I am not counting on their support and my counter does me no good on that quest...
EDIT:
My custom recovery is, by what I can see, not formatting my internal SD, but maybe, just maybe, I can prove I was using a Stock ROM if they look at my files... Or even better, my phone did daily backups to dropbox using Titanium Backup, sure there is something there that proves that my firmware was a official one...
Who am I kidding, this is not a court...

Hmm, afaik about sds, you can't get into recovery or download mode at all...
Looks like you've tried all options, it could be bootloader related...idk its worth a try.

Ok, just tried it:
I got again to cwm without any issues, selected "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard".
It started to update, and then a bunch of fast messages and REBOOT, it all happens pretty fast after the "Update in process" appear.

I am sorry, the message I am talking about is within the cwm. If I got the optimizing apps message I would be in a bar celebrating...
My phone does not have external sd card, I just used my roommate one to try this.
Another curious fact, I cannot access my INTERNAL sd card, every time I try to navigate its folders to search for a zip file I get a freeze and the reboot cycle starts again, just like when I try to format cache or do a factory reset...
I am starting to think this may be an internal sd problem...

Hmm...
Yes, it is probably a internal memory problem..
because, your odin stops at writing nand, well best solution is to take it up to sammy.

I recently installed CyanogenMod with the Unlock Bootloader for noobs and I noticed the internal SD wasn't mounted. So I tried to flash an ICS ROM to see if it would work but it didn't. I was stuck at the boot screen. I tried restoring an ICS CWM backup and a JB backup but it didn't work. Currently, I have a flashed JB backup with a messed up touchscreen (because of the way I unlocked the boot-loader). It won't boot and I don't know how I can install the stock ROM. I really just want my phone to work at this point. I don't know if there's any way to use the offline method to flash a .kdz since I can't access android. I tried hard resetting, but when I do it starts up Clock Work Mod which I believe happens because of the way I unlocked boot-loader.
I'm trying to use this guide to fix it using SW upgrade. I did find a .bin and .fls which i'm downloading right now.
If anyone could help or give some advice that would be great. I really just want to use my phone, I don't care about flashing a custom ROM right now. As long as my phone works, I'll be happy.

Let me know if this works for you! Also you can do the offline fix just as long as you can get into S/W Upgrade mode. But I am curious to see if you can use the bin/fls files tool that you mentioned to get your phone working again.

Well just get your phone into S/W Upgrade mode and follow this tutorial. Getting into S/W Upgrade:
1. Get stock ROM here.
2. Turn off your phone
3. Press and hold the vol + button while inserting USB to computer
4. Keep holding the vol + until you see the S/W upgrade mode
5. Flash ROM with tutorial mentioned above.
Good Luck!

Isn't that just an infobank of all the KDZs? I'm pretty new, but can you flash a kdz with the offline method? To clarify, I was asking how to flash the kdz with the offline method in S/W upgrade mode. So ROMs/KDZs are essentially the same, right?
Edit: I read everything over again and realized what KDZs really are. I'm just wondering now if I could just hard reset in some other way because the LG Update Tool doesn't recognize my phone even though I see all the drivers. It's stuck at 15%.
Edit 2: I tried the method I suggested and it resulted with "Magic number does not concide".
So I'm stuck here with a phone that is stuck in bootloop, and has CWM installed. Can anyone help?

alright, this is all from memory but the offline flash didnt work as well for me when stuck in weird bootloops.
Step one-going back to online flash---->
A---
the easiest way i found was to go to C:/windows/system32/drivers/ect/hosts
right click>open with notepad
there should be two lines at the bottom
"127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
127.0.0.1 csmgdl.lgmobile.com"
i would cut them out and paste them in a text doc in the same folder for reference later...
but either way you should remove them from the hosts file and save
B----
Make sure your small server is closed! once you minimize it it should go down to your status bar (shttps)
Step two-LGMS---->
make sure you have LG mobile support installed or install it.
open lg mobile support
install needed drivers for your phone
power your phone off/remove the battery
put battery back in
connect it to your computer holding down the volume up button
S/W UPDATE mode should pop up, if it doesn't preform and hardreset and try again til it works (it will)
then in the top right corner there should be a button or two click them both until you see
"restore update" or Update restore or something to that effect
select that
and let it ride man
i got my phone ****ed many times and just had to keep redoing this until it worked. if your bootloader is truely unlocked you can probably go through all that again and get CM10 working, i did but im still working through kinks.....
GOOD LUCK feel free to ask any more Q's about this process if you run into any problems

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. Before I start, do you mean LG Mobile Support form when I unlocked the boot-loader, if not could you provide a link to it? And by the way, when I tried hard resetting, the phone sent me back to CWM, any ideas why?
I was reading the CM10.2 notes yesterday and I realized there isn't supposed to be an internal SD card showing up when you plug in your phone to your PC. So I did tried fixing what wasn't broke.
Anyway, thanks for the info!

Such a late reply, sorry! I did nothing. Before you replied I flashed CM10.2 but never bothered to boot up my phone. Preparing to connect my phone to my comp, I couldn't start CWM so I figured " I'll just leave my phone plugged in for a few hours." Two hours later, my phone has a blank screen, i'm thinking "This shouldn't be blank? What the hell?." I pressed the power button and was greeted with Cid. I screamed out loud: "**** yeah!"
If people have the same problem as me all I did was: Reflash my my phone with 10.1, stock, 10.1 again, and then 10.2. I did that, only that.
What's funny is that I never checked to see if my phone was working after I flashed CM10.2. :silly:
Can't wait for Kit-Kat. Thank you for keeping up with my post, CROSSFREEZE I appreciate it!
Edit: I might submit a really specific and simplified version of the "Unlock Bootloader for Noobs P769" for the take of contributing.
