Question about ryans lag fix. - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First a little backround. I had a stock rooted vibrant that I used ryans oclf on. Then I flashed bionix 1.9.1 rom with jacs oc/uv kernel. After flashing it I checked ryans lag fix app and it said a lag fix was already applied. No biggie phone is running smooth. So today I noticed an update for ryans lag fix. Afterwards I went to the app and it said v2.2 was available. Anybody see any issues with me using the new version?? Just want a few opinions before I fire it up. Thanks.

[Q] What kernal is best for the timeout lock issue?

Currently I'm using eugenes A12 cuz it seems to lockup the least. I've tried A12-A14 as well as the A_Overkill and they all have problems. Any recommended kernels or settings? Haven't tried the new 1.20ghz kernal yet. Running Axura 2.0.5 btw with JFS Overkill.

I applied the oclf included in nero beta 3 and after 24 hours and screen freezes and it rebooting itself and hangning at the flashing X I reflashed Beta 3 and everything seems to be okay now. I did have the GB keyboard and Gb launcher installed ( not sure if that would have caused it) This is my first time trying a lag fix and I am not going to try it again any time soon. My device seems to run smoother without the lag fix. I am sure I am in the minority but I do not like having to reboot or remove the battery after trying to use apps etc.

Anyone having Random reboots and freezes?

My phone will randomly reboot or and my screen will freeze and the only way to fix it is to pull the battery. Is anyone else having this problems I'm running Nero v3 with the Voodoo lag fix and a custom theme I made on top of it.

This sums up my Nero V3 experience. 4.1 seems better, but I haven't ran it long enough to know if it is any better.
For what it's worth JL5 was laggy too, but no random reboots.
Eat at Joe's
Im rooted, stock rom,, and lately this same thing been happening to me. Random shut offs and i cant figure it out.

I've tried about every rom that's been made for the Vibrant with no issues.
I'm willing to bet it's another issue.. A bad app or theme maybe?
There is an app, watchdog I believe is the name that shows cpu usage/hogs.

ok thanks ill check it out
i was think it was my cpu but wasn't too sure if that was it.
i dont think it my theme because im running it now on nero v4.1 (its been 2 days now) with no problem but who know?
I've been having this problem. I use my phone for an alarm clock, the past week I've woken up with the phone off, luckily haven't been late yet.
Only thing I've been doing different in that period is I've flashed Dragon kernel 3.2 and had the simple cyan theme. Also running Bionix V 1.2, but thats only since yesterday. Checked for runaway apps but couldn't find anything crazy.
Stock KB1 here and have been experiencing similar issues - severe instabililty. NEVER had this problem before flashing to this level.

What's new now?

Hi, I have my Vibrant rooted with Bionix Fusion 1.1 it's nice I like the layout and everything. It just seems to have a few bugs sometimes.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to a new setup? Something just more up to date.

ODIN back to stock, then flash Nero V4.1!
If you like Bionix, but want it more up to date, then this is exactly what you're looking for.
Alright, I'll have to check that out.
Thanks for the fast response.

Where can I download the Nero v. 4 with voodoo? I found the regular nero 4 in the main post for it.

Make sure you read the whole post. Nero V4.1 comes with voodoo enabled by default.
Oh, sorry about that. Thanks though.

How do I make sure I don't have any lagfixes on? I'm pretty sure I used ryanza's oclf but just don't know how to disable it.

If you get a quadrant score above 1000. You have a lag fix enabled. OCLF is fairly easy to disable. Pretty much reverse what your did to enable it.

Nero v4.1 + Dow
If you don't already have the OCLF app for whatever reason, grab it from the market and disable the lagfix through that.
I just downloaded the ryanza oclf app from the market, can I use that to disable it?

Yes.
10char.
Thanks doing that now.
Now I've heard from some people you should revert back to stock. Is that something you guys would recommend.
If so what the best way? I don't have access to a computer right now.

I downloaded ryanzas oclf from the market but the uninstall lag fix was unavailable.

Maybe you dont have a lagfix unstalled currently. Download quadrant from the market and report back with your score.
Also, I wouldn't reccomend doing this while away from a computer. Read up on how to use ODIN and how to ODIN back to JFD stock firmware.
I know it's not a good idea not to have a computer handy, I have one just no internet. And I don't have odin yet.
My quadrant score was around 2100.

I rebooted into recovery and went to clockwork to find out what lag fix I had and I could see anything about a lag fix. And the screen was green, which I thought you were supposed to have a red screen if you had a lag fix.
I think what I did had something to do with a ext2 lag fix.
Sent from Samsung Vibrant rooted with Bionix Fusion 1.1
Ok I backed up everything, should I just go for this or something? The only thing I'm just not sure about is if the lag fix will be a problem.

Does anyone have a link to Odin that I can download onto my phone so I can transfer it to my computer?

Phantom lagfix?

Wondering if simply unrooting will remove lag fixes? I rooted 2.2 using SuperOneClick and applied OCLF... Removed OCLF shortly after, but now it is showing I have lag fix installed.. Not sure where it came from. Not sure how to remove it. Can't remove via OCLF.
Stock 2.2... Nothing fancy.

why do you want to get rid of the lag fix? Can't you disable it in cwm?
No it will not remove it by doing super user. Plus I'd leave being rooted and ext4 on. Why do you want to remove it.

Well, its not the lagfix itself im concerned about as much as I am
with which lagfix... I just dont know what it is or how it got there. Is there a way I can find that out? Does it even matter? I just thought it was strange.
