Greetings !
Hows it going everyone
well I'm new to this fantastic forum that I find extremely helpful specially with the asset of the pro Developers that the forum Managed to gather at the same place
well it happens that I was surfing around trying to find any leads to figure out if the X10 Mini digitizer T1021A is Dual-touch capable or not.
Actually I found a couple of phones that uses the same Controller "T1021A" , and the most interesting one is the Blackberry Torch 9800.
Although the phone runes a BlackBerry OS6 " not an Android" but its fully Dualtouch enabled .
here are some info about the cell
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/blackberry-torch-9800-everything-you-need-to-know/
here you can check out a video review of the phone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHnW7Dt1bcIand
and here you can take a look at the Blackberry Torch 9800 teardown
http://www.ubmtechinsights.com/repo...tive-analysis/blackberry-torch-9800/teardown/
they stated at the bottom of the page that the phone has a Clearpad T1021A controller which raises some hopes again that the X10 Mini might be able to have Dualtouch functionality up if we could manage to alter the digitizer driver , I dont claim that I possess any knowledge about firmwares and drivers development , but I believe that if its possible to extract the driver from device which I believe that its coded in C language we could be able to modify it to work for us or if we can manage to extract the driver from another device using the same chip and has Dualtouch enabled , as I've heard that Synaptics agreed to share the Synaptics RMI4 drivers with the Android SDK but I could not find any , seems like they've removed it temporary for some reasons.
I've found another phone that has the same chip T1021A , its the Nokia N8
Here you can see that the phone supports Dualtouch .... this is an Assassin's creed gameplay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aivlOZs2Ez0
here you can clearly see that the phone has a T1021A chip "Step 10 3rd picture"
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nokia-N8-Teardown/3641/2
Another phone is Nexus One " no need to represent the phone thought "
here you can see a teardown of the device seems like the one possess a similar controller T1007A
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus-One-Teardown/1654/2
here you can find a full technical article about the Nexus One it indicate that the Nexus one has the same Digitizer as the X10 mini Clearpad2000 , sounds like the T1021A is just a microcontroller that controls the way the digitizer behaves and the T1021A thingy does not mean a ClearPad 1021 as some presumed
http://www.edn.com/file/25845-The_Nexus_One_Google_hits_a_smartphone_home_run_PDF.pdf?force=true
looking forward to read your replies and suggestion about the matter so maybe we could come up with something.
Are you completely sure that the Torch is able to recognize 2 touch points independently and somewhat accurately instead of just supporting dual-touch gestures like pinch-in/out and rotate?

well , I don't own the phone to confirm it , but after what I saw in reviews about the cell , it seems that its the first Multitouch not only dualtouch BlackBerry that uses the BlackBerry OS 6.
it would be nice if we only could manage to find someone who could confirm it
a datasheet woud be nescesary. mabye you could mail synaptics for more info but don't think they give much away, this things are normally not open source. it would be tons of work and mabye noth wort it.

I do not understand much about it, but I know that the Mini uses 2.2 Froyo Galaxy and has multi-touch, perhaps you could be helping in something!

I believe the Kin Two only supports dual touch gestures, like pinch, rotate and so on.
cant we just take the legend driver from the legend kernels and just snap it into our new custom kernels without any modifications ?! same screen res and same digitizer so i guess it wouldn't require lots of work ! thanks

nokia n8 doesn't support real dualtouch!! only gestures and pinch to zoom
It's easy to assume that the Nokia N8 has got dualtouch, but in fact it's got what some would call "software emulated dualtouch" which means dualtouch behavior on a singletouch only digitizer.

i currenty have a ray should i buy a new phone?
should i go for xperia sola? because i like the design but i dont like 5 mp.. but i like nfc and MICROSD but 5mp is like downgrade form 8mp cam on ray.
or should i go for P , i like the 4 inch screen but no microsd...
or should i wait for xperia sx??
The Xperia P has NFC as well. The P is technically better than the Sola in everyway except for the fact that it only has 16GB (13GB user-available) of storage space.
The Sola has 8GB but it's expandable via MicroSD.
If you can live with 16GB of space, than the P is the way to go.

Go for Xperia P
from xperia PLAY (enjoying N.O.V.A.3)
Xperia sola cam is a downgrade from Ray .
Try xperia P . It would be the best mid range among sony 2012 lineup as the only midrange phone will be launch in the future is xperia sx .
If u dont need more space then ~12GB (maybe u use clouds, that would solve the problem) and u dont need 1.5 Ghz go for the P, the Aluminium Unibody is reallyl nice, and it also get a Dock
go with P
better quality and design
and when i saw the red one, its really elegant @[email protected]
If you have money, go with P for sure. It is a nice phone with more Xperia S feature which doesn't let you get behind much.
Screen is very nice and I think the whole phone is a better size. Is there a place you can go and check it in person? Its well built.
In all honesty, the Xperia Sola would have very similar results to the 8MP pictures you're taking now, because of the exmor-r sensor.
Plus, more MP = more noise. More noise = scrappy picture
That's my two cents anyway!
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
Wrong . sola not Exmor R sensor .
P have top camera among 8mp and capture 1080p video .
More mega pixel =/= more noise
Which is good?
Sola or U?
i m more concerned about the batt life in both! i hv a LG-P500 it has a1500mAh batt. n i use the fone too heavily. it lasts about 4-5 hrs. but U and Sola have 1320mAh batt. Is the Batt life good?
also sola has a SD slot but no front cam. and U has no SD slot but a front cam. also U has an external usb support to increase memory! i m totally confused.
sola is about 2000INR(around $40) more than U. so is it worth to take the sd slot in place of front cam for $40 more?
thnx

Moto E will get Android L probably. Even one of the Motorola India person named Thirumalesh[Motorola Mobility, India] told me that Moto E is likely to receive android L as soon as L is officially announced. Motorola is making plans to give L update as fast as the android ONE to keep up the competetion.
ANDROID ONE is released today with three devices from Micromax, Spice and Karbonn. They have 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, and all other Specs are similar to Moto E. Google announced that these devices will be the first to receive android L. so if these Devices are eligible for Update and can run android L . Moto E can definitely run and supports Android L with just 4GB of Internal Memory.
SO guys, Be Ready For ANDROID L Update.

Yeah... but What i said was Moto E will likely get the Update to android L. Many People asked me that whether 4GB internal memory is enough for ART or Android L . SO to clarify them , I made this Post. But some closed Motorola Mobility, India executives told me Motorola is getting ready to update Moto E. Right now , Motorola is working on budget Segment of Android . We may expect another device like moto e in future.
That's great news!! May I know what is major difference we going to get in Android L
