I was wondering if anyone out there who is wiser then I has considered a tun.ko support in thier kernel? I use OpenVPN alot to remote into my home office, and would really love to be able to use it from my phone.
Alternativly, if anyone can point me into a "Kernel for dummines" kinda site, I would be willing to take a stab at it myself. Thanks!

Yeah, thought it was a dev related question sorry. I did search 1st but no info anywhere on the net about getting it to work with the atrix. :-(
We need a working tun.ko, none of the ones I have found have worked. I doubt it will be easy to get without the kernel source from motorola, I have found modules for the same kernel version but those obviously don't work because they are compiled for a different arm version. Hoping a xoom or streak 7 tun.ko will come out soon that might work.

I am also in the same boat with you guys, it would be fantastic to have a working OVPN client on this phone.
There are a number of tun.ko modules posted for the Xoom. Unfortunately none match the kernel version that we're using on the Atrix :/

Just search the Atrix forum for tun.ko. There is a working one posted.
Look in the dev section. There is one posted in there. Someone just confirmed for me it works with the latest updates..
If we have tun working, will the hamachi for Nokia N770 ( I had an n810, debian linux) work if recompiled? I saw something in the G1 section, but there was problems with tun ... Also might be with tegra 2 as the N810 was Arm7.
Would love hamachi vpn as I use network folders and remote desktop, and somewhat despise vnc (never works for me)

Hello all!
Well i've used many search tools here on site, and i've also done some cutom searches on my phone, and yet can't find what i KNOW is here somewhere.
So i'm asking for a little help to point me in the right direction! I'm on the Samsung Fascinate (obviously) running 2.3.3 EC09 with Kernel 2.6.35.7
I would love to get my hands on a cutom dialer, and maybe even in addition to some customization onto contacts list look and feel.
Now directing me to themes and apps is not what im looking for, i dont care to add any full phone theme, i make my own custom (yet basic) themes, just wondering if there is any pre-made dialer replacements, and just maybe a contact list to go along??
I'm almost certain someone will call me blind and point me right there, but I really have came to my witz end looking, and have probably looked right over it!

Edit- Before someone asks or states " if you built your own theme why not a dialer?" Simply put, I don't want to!!!! I want a quick pre-made to move about my buisness with!!
I want my phone stock as I use some of the Vodafone apps, but I'd like to be able to do certain things like getting rid of the 15% battery limit on the camera/voice recorder.
I don't wont to put any custom roms on my phone.
Is there anyone who does this? I hate to make this comparison, but is there a community like the Cydia Devs that makes tweaks for stock rooted phones - without having to put on a different rom?

I have an old Fascinate that is no longer in service that I'd like to give to my kids for games and geocaching.
Is there any way to permanently disable the phone/3G data features, or is there a custom ROM with these features removed?
I've tried googling around and found some ROMs for this, but nothing specifically for the Fascinate.

Id say start with THS Build 14, and delete Phone.apk, TelephonyProvider.apk, MMS.apk, and Contacts.apk. Id say that's it if its deactivated, because then they cant call and accidentally activate it somehow.
Take a look at the GeeWiz thread in the development section. DJP has a version of the ROM specifically designed for what you are trying to do.

I'll give GeeWiz a look, it's cool that someone is actually developing a ROM to utilize unused but otherwise great phones.
Short term I may try a variation on Cookiemonster's suggestion since the phone has CM7.2 on it now and removing those apks might be simpler than a complete wipe and rebuild.

Hey guys, i've been searching and searching, but not able to figure it out, so here it goes.
I have the HD rom running on my NC5. RUns well. I had questions regarding the tweaks:
1) I see the ROM has network speed baked in, but it only shows download speed. Is there a way to get it to show both up and down like in soem roms? I tried the xposed module networkspeedindicator, but it didn't do anything
2) Is there a way to change the wifi Icon, LTE icon? I looked around and couldn't find any modules that were "compatible" with the gs4.
The only alternative to this would be moving to Eclipse....but I'm not a fan of the dialer/contacts/mms packages that are built in.
ANy help or guidance would be appreciated!!!!
