I tried using the search but it ignores two character words. Anyone have the apk for the IM app in the bionix roms? I installed fusion and would like to have it.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I'm pretty sure it's just the default IM app out of Cyanogen/Vanilla. I'll post it up tomorrow if nobody has already.
Just a suggestion, if you make a Titanium backup of all your apps, it saves the apps that came pre-installed as well.
Just download bionix, unzip it and take it yourself in the system/app folder. Use adb push or root explorer to copy it to your own system/app after making a nandroid backup.

weird, I just did that (because I'm a nice guy, so I figured I'd just do it for whoever would want it) but I couldn't find it... probably just didn't look hard enough...
It's not you... it looks like it was removed from Bionix Final. It used to be in the data/app folder, not system/app, but I don't have 1.9.1 anymore to pull it out.
Sorry.

Weird, I just extracted it from the rom.

With the info above I found this.after install I got the sim error, but after restart it works for aol and msn at least. Cannot try yahoo.

you can download the bionix rom if you don't have it , unzip and pull the .apk from the system/app directory.
Tried that. Didn't work. I used astro and tried to install the swype apk from 1.8. I get installation unsuccessful.

Instead of installing it, try moving it to the system/app directory with something like Root Explorer

edit: do I just replace the Swype apk I already have?

oh i didnt realize you dont want metamorph on your phone.....its tough to believe that some people can live without it hahaha
anyways, easiest way to install your swype is place the .apk in C:/AndroidSDK/tools on your PC, then access your device through adb (command prompt) and simply type this command:
adb push Swype.apk /system/app (then press enter)
then bang! your new Swype.apk was installed over the one you currently have

To the OP, if you are trying to get a specific theme only for Swype, then just use my metamorphs. The Bionix rom uses a Non voice input version of Swype if i remember correctly, and the theme is one of the old ones I found and had in my non v.i. thread. Currently, my metamorphs are for voice input only, but i promise, it's the simplest way to create, distribute, and apply these themes. Sure, it's easier to just replace an .apk with an update.zip, which would allow me to edit the libSwypeCore.so file to change the trail line color as well, but it is also a monumental undertaking in themeing software with REAL fragmentation issues. You thought Android was bad? BAH! I don't even know a rough estimate of the number of versions of Swype being utilized now... If I were to theme the .apk itself, then I would have to do a separate one for Vibrant, Epic, Fascinate, Captivate, GT-I9000, Evo, DX, DInc, etc, etc, until I FINALLY get ONE theme for ALL the versions of Swype. Metamorph eliminates the need for that. You can just install Metamorph, apply the theme, and then uninstall metamorph. You won't lose your theme

I was looking at how yahoo video plug-in uses the HTC front camera and found out that it calls “com.htc.hardware.twinCamDevice.FrontFacingCamera. getFrontFacingCamera();” to load it. So I baksmali-ed the com.motorola.hardware.frontcamera.jar and changed it to look like the HTC version so YM can use it.
ADB Method (YOU MUST BE ROOTED TO APPLY IT):
1. Extract YMFrontCamADB.zip
2. Connect your device in Debugging mode (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging)
3. Run YMFrontCam.bat and follow the instructions.
4. Close the process for YM plug-in.
5. Make a video call.
YMFrontCamCWM.zip and YMFrontCWMCamRemover.zip can be used for CWM un/installation
NON-ATRIX devices should use the ADB method as the CWM method is specific for Atrix only. If the ADB method doesn't work, download the com.htc.hardware.twinCamDevice.zip, extract com.htc.hardware.twinCamDevice.jar, copy it to your /system/framework and change the permission to 644
2011-05-31 - Updated to support more devices.
Gingerbread devices (using the standard 2.3 front camera API)
Motorola
Samsung
LG
Dell Streak and Streak 7 (Untested)
Huawei (Untested)
Other htc devices without the com.htc.hardware.twinCamDevice.jar (Untested)
Feel free to edit the source and make it work on your device
2011-05-31 - Updated YMFrontCamADB.zip script to fix mount command on other devices. The new script requires busybox (rooted devices should have it anyway)
2011-06-11 -Updated YMFrontCamADB.zip and com.htc.hardware.twinCamDevice.jar to fix the exception in integer "Parameters" values (samsung, dell, lg). Source code FrontFacingCamera.java.zip is updated as well. CWM method NOT updated.
2011-07-03 - After more than 2 months of hiding and distributing the APKs in secrecy, I’m now attaching them in here. I was advised not to post modifications for Google Market APKs here and so I did but as I can see in other threads, everything is allowed.
For a fix that does not need root and ADB stuffs, you can download the APK versions. First you have to uninstall the YM and YM plug-in from the market, install yahoo.im.apk (a must) and choose one among the plugins that suits best your need.
There are 4 versions of the plug-in I made. Some users reported that their devices got the wrong camera orientation (side-ways, or flipped image) and so I made 3 additional versions that add 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise to the orientation. It might or might not show the correct orientation on the android device but the transmitted image should be correct. Another thing is that, FFC and back cam doesn’t always have the same orientation so fixing the other might break the orientation of the other; so choose which cam you prefer to use.
Awesome! Haven't tried it out yet because I'm not home, but sure hope it works. I wonder if it works with other apps... any chance of looking at Vtok and Ovoo?
EDIT: Confirmed, it works with Yahoo. I used the com.htc.hardware.twinCameDevice.zip method and not the CWM flash, but have no reason to imagine that the other method wouldn't work as well. THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I have a modified version of ooVoo that works with the atrix's front camera but I'm not sure if I can post it here or not.
I believe though that ooVoo will very soon release the version that supports the atrix and the front camera. Their code actually includes the loader class for the front camera but for some reason, it is not yet included in loader array. Maybe it is still under testing.

What version are you using? I'm using the french 4.2.1 sbf (bell). Maybe it's just a versioning issue. I'll make one tonight (GMT - 5) that will actually load and use the motorola library to avoid versioning issues.

Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
According to what a few other people have said, that app was coded with a lot of lines of code specific to that device... so it would practically be quicker to start from scratch.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Do you believe that this will work with the Xoom as well seeing how they have the same camera drivers?
It's sure worth a try, I bet so. If not, the same method (renaming the default camera framework file to the htc version) would work. Try it.

I've updated it and changed the code to simply load and use the existing driver from motorola. It should be easy now to port to other devices.

This was going going to happen at some point anyways but can i get some more accurate directions?
Sent from my Powerwashed EH09 Fascy using XDA Premium App
Well as I happen to be on UKB2.1 at the moment I gave these a try.
With the Honeycomb files posted a couple posts above I was able to boot but after mounting my sdcard on the PC the phone wouldn't recognize the sdcard again when I unmounted it. I am a lazy man by nature so I just decided then and there that it wasn't worth my time to investigate further. YMMV.
With the Gingerbread files in the OP, at least I didn't have that problem. Gonna give it a couple days to see if anything is different/better.
The install process is to copy app_process and system_server from the zips to /system/bin and chmod/chown them to match the original files (chmod 0755, chown 0.2000 in my case for both). If you don't understand these directions you shouldn't be hanging out in development IMO but whatever.

First off this is not my mod all thanks go to Lovetz whose thread I will link and Rockodev and Contradictor who he credits there. Recently I went back to CM7 because of stability issues with the DX2 CM9 ROMS. Once back I started having problems with DSP Manager fc'ing just like I remember. Decided to look for a fix or alternative and found this... IT WORKS GREAT!!!! imho.
As always neither myself or anyone other than YOU are responsible should you mess up your phone, especially if you don't NANDROID BACKUP!!!!!!
1. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653140
2. Download the required files referred to in the OP.
3. I used File Explorer to rename DSPManger.apk to DSPManager.apk.old to disable it.
4. Boot into our recovery.
5. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU FLASH THE ZIP FILE!!!
6. Flash the zip file downloaded from the above link. (I did not do anything other than flash the zip, ie. mount system & mount data referred to in the OP instructions...I think our recovery does that by default)
7. Reboot... I did not wipe anything
8. Install the AudioFXwidget apk (to "open" the widget settings you must do so via the app draw even after installing the widget on a home page)
Enjoy...
I don't play music alot on my X2 but this MOD has made a vast improvement on my X2, clearer, virtually no skipping even with a browser open and surfing
Do you think this may work on the latest Paranoid Android for the DX2?

I wasn't really interested in the beats audio itself. It's just a brand name championed by guys who want to make money, including the creator who got famous for making music where sonic fidelity is the absolute last concern of all involved in production. /rant.
anyhow, I was more interested in the getting rid of audio skips effect of this mod. I hate messing with EQ's and the main benefit of this mod seems to be getting a working EQ/DSP onto ROMs where they aren't.
I'm of the opinion OP may have missed that his beats zip didn't install correctly and played with the EQ til he got sound he liked. This is only because I haven't seen anyone else reporting success on the DX2, which is a sufficiently different beast than the galaxy ace. I don't mean to imply that OP is incompetent or in any way a bad person.
not working
I have tried this on both CM7 and CM9. It is confirmed not working for both. I have sbf'd wiped everything and it doesn't install... Oh well!
The creator of the mod has an app on Google Play that does the work for you. Works fine on my X2 running the latest Eclipse, and it didn't break my DSP manager either.
