So I set up my yahoo email. First question is
1. On all my phones I was able to connect to it via wifi, now its telling me that I can not do that because I use free yahoo account. My yahoo isn't free, my sbcglobal and yahoo are joined. How do I bypass that limitation.
2. I set to an option when I delete email it's deleted from the phone not the server. I get a notification, I read email, I delete it. Then 5 minutes later I get the same email. How do I stop that.
Thank you.

Either access it thru the yahoo app (sorta meh app) or thru the web browser (easy) for easiest access.

Yahoo apply is useless.

If you are using Hotmail and not Gmail on your google- powered phone you're doing it wrong.

just configure gmail (on the webpage) to retrieve hotmail and be done with it.
K-9 email app, love it!
I need to sync my school e mail to the atrix. Will k9 works for me?

Geez guys he asked for a Hotmail solution not Gmail.
Microsoft Hotmail now supports Activesync/Exchange. All your contacts, calendar and email flows down.
Select Corporate email setup.
Username is your full email address.
Server is. m.hotmail.com
Domain blank.
Set update to whatever you want from Push to hours.
Btw, I am a huge advocate of Enhanced Email.

Hi,
Does the stock email app support push? I use gmail however prefare the samsung email app becuse of zooming and copy text support.
If no, is there a way to feature like push without having to check for regually for emails?
There isnt even a method to check once opening the app.
Any sort of will be gratefull.

Yes... Well.. Indirectly.. With Gmail you can setup mail fowarding from any other email account. On your PC have a look in your Gmail account settings for fowarding.. Gmail will pull your standard pop3 email for you and then push it to your phone... Easy.. Just let gmail gather your email from various acounts...
Edit. Just read again .. You would prefer the samsung app... Not sure then...

Yes it does.
I can't find any settings to allow for push email. Out only asks me to poll for emails periodically, but that isn't even working. The only time I get emails is when I physically go into the email folder. Am I missing something?

What kind of email account?
Yahoo and hotmail.

did you turn yahoo notification off? If so turn it back on and see if that reenables push.
Notifications are enabled. Is there somewhere specific to go to to enable push email?

if you go to settings, applications, running services and click on yahoo mail, does it list the Yahoo! Push notification service and the MailSyncService?
Also have you tried clearing the data from the apps (where you uninstall it) and then let it re-sync?
Just tried and yahoo doesn't show up under running services. Is it cause I don't have the yahoo email app? I just did the email set up. I know other people were having issues setting up yahoo that way but it worked for me. Now, if only I can get all my emails to push through.

could be. i use the app and it works great with push
When I use the stock mail app, or k9, for my pop account I get the mail just fine. However when I download the mail on my desktop the mail on my phone disappears. I'd like it to stay on my phone. I have turned sync off for that account and leaving the mail on server is not an option. I cannot figure what is causing it.
I feel a bit stupid not finding it ;-) anyone help out?

does anyone have any ideas?
thanks in advance as always
Well, does the email service you're using use IMAP or POP3? If you don't know what these are, then Google it. It'll take you 30 seconds.

Check incoming settings for the account. If it's imap, then there's no option to delete from the server, if it's pop3 then you have the option to delete from server when deleting on device.
AFAIK outlook is only imap these days. But hunt for pop3 settings with Google, there may be a work around.
