I've installed Nimbuzz on Tattoo and can tell you that the phone works perfectly. I can use chat and also make a phone call without any problems through Skype. It's a great application.

Yes but lately get more crashes every day.
after an update I lost the call button in nimbuz dialpad..anybody experiencing this problem..now I switched back to old version.
Is the version that's out now a beta or what?
Or are they working on the crashes?
Every time I try to make a call on Skype my system crashes - the app closes unexpectedly after the 3-second black screen. Does anybody have same issue?
Really noone?
I mean, I'm happy for you then )))))))
I think everybody stopped caring about the new skype release when they found video chat was still MIA.

Great News !!!
I just was browsing the android market and found two appz supporting skype. Ones called Truphone and I called another skype mobile and it rings it doesnt crash the dell but aint checked the voice quality .. but i believe its good.
the other i havent checked is called voxfon, but I will update later tonight with quality for both and good news is they both can be used as a normal dialer and international with cheap rates.
Ciao!!
Whenever my skype loads, my touch screen functionality completely goes out. Hardware buttons are the only buttons that will function
**EDIT** I'm on 2.1 as well. build 8105
today it's out a new skype, but not for wildfire.
how do i install it ?
is it possible?
I downloaded it from market. But i cant login :/
does anyone know how to fix it?
from market? from wildfire market? is there?
Skype say not supported.. due to Wildfire small screen
This is the one that works on 3 uk, dont know if it works on other networks though.

Don't bother, the Skype in the market FC closes all the time.
Also use appbrain to install it, See my guide in General section.

I mean appbrain market sorry
anyway it wont connect, i got connection error and i'm unable to use it
I downloaded it from the normal Android Market. Managed to sign in but it was a bit sluggish. The real problem was trying to exit the app. Apparently the Log Out option is in one of the tabs, My Info I think it was. Whenever I try to press that tab, I get a force close and the app restarts and logs me back in. Ended up having to kill it.
Don't know if I can call or text yet because I uninstalled straight away. Nimbuzz will do fine until they sort it out.
i could log-in via wlan, but skype crashed instantly when i tried to do anything (htc default rom)
Just installed and it's working fine....
Worked fine on OD 4.0.32. Really had no issues with it except the sneaky log out button.. im gonna try it on stock 2.2 and report back..
*edit* sorry my bad.. posted on the wrong forum.. :$

Wildfire - NO
Just installed on Wildfire (via .apk). Screen and graphics looked great, but when clicking on My Info or trying something else, it keeps crashing. Lets hope, that Skype devs will make it work also for this very popular device
Same here. I can login, but clicking on any button crashes the app. Very sad, I was hoping to finally have Skype on my phone.
I wrote a mail to the support, they just answered that the Wilfire isn´t supported at the moment.
So at least there is probability, that it's only "at the moment" and in future, there will be release for small res. phones...
Everything works fine,but i can't make calls.Chatting works fine,info works fine.

How are you able to chat? As soon as I try to, the app crashes. Are you using the app just released by Skype or a different version?
I'm wondering too... my crashed, before i tried to set online statu in My info...
work like charm no crashes so far
On Wildfire? It's interesting...
I downloaded and installed the beta skype apk from rapidshare.I cant make a call from wifi (skype credit only),but everything else works like a charm in my wildfire.I use the original 2.1 wildfire rom with no mods and stuff.
Gets error when trying to start conversation. Someone have same problem ?
I answer just to follow the thread. I don't have 2.1 yet but I'm interested in Skype...

thats bad to hear. i was hoping that we would be able to use the skype app, since they decided to be cretins and required nimbuzz to remove their skype support =(
Same prob here, force closes almost everywhere.
Obviously this is not ready for X10, hence it won't show at the market.
So skype finally decided to hook us up and now we are able to use video calling on our tabs! Pretty nicethat we dont have to get everyone to convert over to gtalk. Just update in the market and there you go. Video calling once again. You will have to go into setting when in skype and enable video calling. HAVE FUN!!!!

Harry Potter, you need to go to your contacts and find someone who's online. Longpress their name and hit "Skype video call".
You need to go to your settings in your skype app to enable video calling because by default its disabled

Once you've updated to the latest version of Skype. Open it up and press the menu button on your tab and click settings and navigate to the button to enable video calling.
the Skype version with video is: 2.5.0.108

it does work. However at the start after installing, ut mentioned it doesn't recognise this device, and there is one annoying bug.. Keeps showing Skype signed in at the bottom right corner where it blocks the digital clock.. But it doesn't happen al the time...
