Hi, I thought with 2.1 with bluetooth 2.1 that the MW600 bluetooth headset would have worked properley with Caller ID and Track ID but it seems thats its exactly the same as 1.6.
Anyone tried theres yet? maybe im not doing something...
I want to know too. I thought this would be solved with 2.1? Thought of getting the white one to go with my white X10, but guess not if it'll never show the caller id and track id.
after digging around some more it looks like it dont work in 2.2 froyo either.
disapointed as i thought it was a 1.6 limitation but it seems its a bluetooth limitation on android.
im sure someone can give us a better answer.
samething happen to me nothing changed
Its a limitation to the Android OS itself, not SE. Blame Google for not including this feature :\
I was wondering if any Developer could create an application for that? Because it seems that OpenWatch has done 1 for the Bluetooth watches MBW150 and MBW200.
Android does not support the AVRCP Profile 1.3 the profile is used to transfer information e.g. IDV3 tags and etc to the device.

As far as I know the ARVCP Profile of Bluetooth is responsible for Play / Pause / FWD / BACK / Metadata Display.
Unfortunately, Android is stuck at v1.0 of the profile. The Metadata is displayed only after v1.3 and above.

Anyone know if its technically possible to get the sound routed to standard bluetooth 'hands-free' device. I know I've successfully done this on all my past devices with help of 3rd party software. I see several iterations of software for android out right now, but none have worked for me on Atrix.
I know buying a AD2P headset would be the ideal software free workaround. But I've tried a lot of bluetooth hands-free out there, and the one I have now is just so comfortable, I just can't switch to A2DP until it absolutely dies.
I've seen a few people requesting this across other forums, wondering if the Atrix is even accessible programming wise to do this?
thanks
I don't understand your question. I have a bluetooth headset which I play music on, and which auto cuts music for calls, has a mic, you can dial by voice command, etc.
It's hands free like any other bluetooth headset other than the power button, volume buttons, etc.
What exactly are you asking?
I believe OP is requesting any App that can be used to Hear Music on a Mono Bluetooth Headset which do not support A2DP Profile.
Using regular Bluetooth without A2DP profile will allow us to Just make /Receive Calls, not for Music.
I also tried BT Mono, but it didn't worked for Atrix and eager to know any other way we can able to hear music thru regular Bluetooth Headset

SakDroid is correct. Not all bluetooth headsets support the AD2P profile, and some phones won't play music to them for a reason unknown to me. I've had 4 phones with this same bluetooth headset and only one of them natively would play music with it. All others I had to install app to redirect sound...such as the referred to BTmono. So I know it's possible on Android, just wondering if there is something preventing it on the Atrix, or just hasn't been developed yet.
I would gladly pay to get development started on this. Since I would have to pay money for one supporting A2DP, but you know how it is when you have that one that fits/works just perfectly. I've bought a few that do support the profile, but ended up returning them all, as they just weren't comfortable to wear very long.
Btmono worked for me on my samsung epic 4g on froyo....then sprint sent an ota update to their version of gingerbread 2.3.6. it is very phone specific with what your carrier puts out I think because my wife has an stock htc evo running 2.3.5, and my brother has samsung epic touch running 2.3.7 and both of those different phones work fine with it. So what did I do....I found a custom rom that was built off 2.2.1 froyo. I didn't read the full thread so I don't know what exactly what phone this is for. Only option is to get to know everything you can do with you phone, root it and try different roms. Young and old. Also...on the eipc forum we had a discussion about this....they all had the same issues with gb...even the custom roms. Would love for the developers to learn a work around, since is up their ally...but shortly after there was a good leak for ice cream sandwich which I tried and its pretty good...just a bit buggy for me. When all the kniks are work out will be moving onto that and bypassing any gb that is out for the epic. So my advise, again, is just try different stock roms first....just to find out which ones...if any will work. Then you will know what custom one to look for...if you into that sorta thing.

Hi guys,
I'm using MW600 bluetooth headset on my X10. I change original headset with my Sennheiser MX 760. Sound quailty is very good. But I don't use MW600 with 2.2 & 2.3 custom roms
I connect it with X10. I start to listen to music. But I have short interruptions on music at various times.
Do you have a bluetooth headset is working properly with 2.2 and 2.3 custom roms?
PS: 3,5 mm audio jack is important for me. Bluetooth device must have this.
Sorry for bad English
Actually I have the same problem as well with my bluetooth fm transmitter using WB CM6. Never had a problem with bluetooth using 2.1.
Any solution to this?
Hi,
I use Trips 1.6.3 and when I have WLan activated I get interrupted bluetooth music. Without WLan everything is OK.

Can you share your rom's link with me?
custom roms have some trouble with bluetooth headsets, because my MW600 works on stock rom, and also work with my computer, with AD2P support (the devise show the title of the song/movie)
Is everyone using MW600 with this phone? Nobody have a different headset
Hi NS_85,
I forgot to say that I normally use a Nokia BH-103 and also have dropouts:-(
Does anybody know a rom which has no bt problems with a headset.
Ralf
2.1 roms are really the only solution for now. You can use EWjet if you want something snappier.

I tried EWjet but I had another issue on it.
Do you use MW600 on EWjet perfectly?
Yes, MW600 runs perfectly on the EWjet. No skipping during music playback.

Which version do you use?
I tried it but I had this problem:
I pair my MW600 bluetooth handset with my phone. I open android stock music player, mediascape, winamp or etc. My phone returning to the previous screen when I press one of the media control keys While the phone on home screen when I press media control keys, screen loading again and again
media control keys do not work on EWjet.
The last one I used was EWJET 2.1.B.0.1 V001ex. MW600 was fine with it.
I am now on stock 2.1.B.0.1 though. Prefer when I am in control of the modifications
Edit: The problem you are experiencing is caused by that WP7 music player. Disable headset button control in it's settings.

I tried it but, it doesn't fix the problem. Which rom do you use?
I have a Nokia BH-505.
Used to have sporadic blackouts on Froyo, curiously much less with GB (cobrato 1.7.15). Happens every now and then, nothing major - do bear in mind that audio notifications will interrupt your audio stream and that this may be causing the interruptions.
IMHO this has more to do with the BT stack and the ROM than the headset itself.
I don't understand what you are asking for re. the 3.5 mm jack - we ARE talking about BT headsets, right?
Hope this helps

quite simple to replace the in ears with better ones. I heard the MW600 and the sound is not the best. My nokia sounds far better especially in the low frequencies.
btw. the problem ist mostly solved with current GB rom.
Ralf
I have used different BT stereo receivers with it (both 2.1 and 2.3.3 stock):
MW600 works fine, but I don't see track info
Samsung MS3000 works, but make sure you turn the unit on before activate BT in order to connect automatically (this one lacks bass)
Nokia BH-214 works well, but it's replaced by BH-111
Sony DRC-BT30 works well, but I lost it recently.
Isn't it a known fact that Bluetooth and WiFi don't play well together? I seem to remember discussing this issue when I bought my first BT mouse (Logitech MX900) for my then brand new laptop...
Anyway, I think issues were solved by some firmware upgrade of mouse and an improved wifi-driver that addressed the issue of BT-interference. Somehow I think that changes to kernel and/or wifi-critical files may disrupt some of the "built-in" fixes for simultaneous wifi/BT connections, which results in erratic BT-behavior.
So, I think that issues are not really related to the headset rather than the internal bluetooth/wifi-stack. As for how to fix it... Alert the dev's!

So The linux bluetooth stack for android (Bluez) now supports AVRCP 1.3 but my EVO 3D still does not..there is something wrong with that picture. How do I make this happen? I have a Prius with a head unit that supports AVRCP 1.3 and i need to see my track data on my head units screen. I know one solution is switching to Cyanogen Mod which has already updated to AVRCP 1.3, but is there a way to simply upgrade the bluetooth stack without rooting and going to Cyanogen? please help, kind folk!
I am interested to know if I can simply upgrade to the latest Bluetooth driver by replacing /system/app/bluetooth.apk and /system/app/bluetooth.odex?? If so, where can I find the files?
I am NOT able to control my Play/Pause using my current Bluetooth.apk... and Skype does NOT recognise my Bluetooth microphone even though I can hear Skype through my Bluetooth earpiece.
I'd be interested in this too. From a little research though it seems that no Sense roms support AVRCP 1.3 or 1.4?
wow, it's so strange that this is here. Did you all just buy a Bluetooth car receiver or something? I did
I can control stuff but metadata does not show up on the display. NOT COOL. Anyway to update it?

Got a new car with bluetooth built in and it'd so much cooler if the song name would at least display on the dash. (AVRCP 1.3) From a little research it seems that you would need to unlock and install a rom that does not have sense, cyanogen should work. I have not tried yet as I'm just too lazy to reinstall a rom and learn a new launcher.
Reguardless what i connect to with bluetooth be it my computer, my car, or my bluetooth headset the music controls (play, pause, forward, reverse, and starting the voice talk thing) no longer seem to work properly if the screen is off when i activate them.
Scenario: Listen to music via bluetooth in my car.
Press voice call button on my deck
Phone screen is off, its sitting in the glove box (not legally allowed to be within reach when driving)
What SHOULD happen: Brings up the voice control app... "What would you like to do", and i can tell it to play music or make a call or text or whatever.
What DOES happen: most of the time nothing, returns an error that the phone does not support this feature.
The same happens for when i want to change the song or play/pause the music.
Also get the same sort of problem from my bluetooth headset (Blueant T1) when starting the "voice commands" option. If the phone screen is off i get an error, if the phone screen is on it works as it should.
This only started happening after updating to ICS XXLPQ (stock). Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a different version of ICS that works better, or a custom rom thats tweaked for everything? I use bluetooth damn near every day, it has to work for me.
Thanks in advance!
Bump? Does anyone know what im talking about, have you experienced this sort of thing? Are there others with this problem or should i try reinstalling my rom as if it were an isolated event? I could really use some direction here.
Hi,
I have same problem with my autoradio sony MXBT3900U.
GS2 reboot every 15 min when I use bluetooth function (a2dp, phone, etc.)
I've read that 4.0.4 ics version resolve this issue.
I think we should wait this update or install a custom rom with 4.0.4 (hydrogenics, etc.) or install a GB version.
rgs.
I've got the same problem while playing music in my car.
What I've found MIUI ICS roms support this nicely.
and I've been using them cause of this very purpose.
Actually I kinda like MIUI.
Regards
Gaurav
FWIW, when I got the message you mention about not supporting this feature, I found it was because it was trying to ask me which app I wanted to open in response to the button press.
Try pressing the BT button when screen unlocked and check that it's not something silly like that.
Having read your post properly, it probably isn't.
Yes, it most definately is not something silly like that. Glad to hear im not the only one, now to wait another 5 months to get an update from Samsung I really with sammy was better with updates...
Yep...got the same problem too - pause/play just wont have it on ICS. I've tried a few ICS ROMs - all got the same issue, sound is clear as bell and next/prev tracks work fine - but not pause/play! But must admit, I've yet to try a MIUI Rom.....suggestions?
ICS is proving a PITA for me. I'm on Wanamlite at the mo and I need Sky Go to work (which it does fine) but on the 4.0.4 ROMs I've tried like Hydrogen, it wont work! Knowing my luck, if I try a MUIU rom and I get pause/play to work on my BT headset - Sky Go won't
Found the following post when doing a search on it:-
Fix Bluetooth headset/headphone controls in Mog for Android 4 (ICS)
I submitted this via Mog Mobile App Support but was shot down and told to submit it as a "feature request" here. The problem is that Bluetooth play and pause controls do not work in the Mog app for Android 4 (ICS). The skip and rewind buttons work just fine, but play and pause are not responsive. Specifically, on my Galaxy Nexus device, I cannot play or pause music using the Bluetooth controls on any Bluetooth headset or headphones. This worked with previous versions of Android.
I have contacted the Android development team about this, and they said that the Play/Pause specification in ICS has changed a bit. And all that is required is a short coding change on your part (and other developers with similar apps).
They even provided the proper coding:

So it looks like there's the answer.... it's just that it may as well be written in Swahili for all the good it does me. Maybe the Devs can implement whatever that means, into the roms (or produce a flashable zip?)
EDIT: Found a temp workaround during more googling.... it's an app called Media Button Router and seems to do the job on my S2.... HTH somebody else here!
It helped me! Thanks! Now I hope they fix it for everybody. Media Button Router works for most of my audio apps. I wish it would just go back to the previously playing thing when you hit play though. That and it doesn't seem to recognize Audible for Android...

Dude, you just made my day !!!
It works flawlessly with my Pioneer Car Radio! I couldn't use any HW buttons to control my music until you mentioned this app .
Kudos!
Does anyone have this issue? I'm a little new to Android as I just dumped my iPhone.
Basically, when streaming music to my car radio, my iPhone would provide artist information, album, etc ... everything about whatever is playing. On the One however, album, artist etc displays as UNKNOWN and the ticker for the length of the song counts 1 second, 2 seconds and after 3 it starts over again at 1. I've checked through the bluetooth settings on the phone and don't see any check box specifically for A2DP or something similar. I've also checked this against other radios with the same capability, and on another radio it won't display any artist information, or even the words UNKNOWN. The time never stops ticking either, even when I change tracks. It just goes on and on forever.
Any help is appreciated.
now that i've played with it a little more, it seems to be a Pandora only related issue .... anyone else experience this?
Spotify as well .... seems to be any kind of streaming service. I have files on my phone that play through bluetooth and all of the information displays properly on screen.
Am I really the only one?
With Android, song metadata won't be sent over a Bluetooth A2DP connection unless someone has modified both the Android OS and whatever music app you want to use to both support AVRCP 1.3 (since stock Android still does not support AVRCP 1.3). The HTC One does support AVRCP 1.3, as HTC has modified the Bluetooth stack on the phone to support it. HTC also added support for AVRCP 1.3 in their HTC Music app on the One, so music you play with that particular app has the capability to stream song metadata to a Bluetooth device that supports that function.
The Spotify Android app does not currently have support for AVRCP 1.3, so it will not send the song metadata to a BT device. (And I'm betting that feature won't come anytime soon because the devs for Spotify seem to be pretty pathetic, IMO).
I'm not currently aware of what other Android music apps have built-in support for AVRCP 1.3, sorry. But it's not a majorly-supported feature, so I can say there won't be many of them. :crying:
