Dumping everything before upgrading - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Before I upgrade to 2.1 I obviously want to make sure I don't lose anything important.
Apart from Titanium BU is there anything else I should do, to pull of a total system dump etc if I ever need to go back?

Programm to full backup my device

I want to try out different roms and different configurations, nut for that I would like to fully backup my device because its currently very well configured and i dont want to lose it. So if i mess something up or i dont like any other configuration then i shoul revert back and EVERYTHING is exactly as i left it
Whats the best solution/program to archive that?
How would I be able to test different roms but not losing my primary conf?
Please help
Thankts in advance.
Assuming you have your existing ROM image available to reflash, I'd personally recommend spb Backup. http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com
Although its not free it will do a complete system dump to a self extracting file.
I have used it on several occassions to go back to WM5 from WM6 ROMs.
It can NOT be used to restore between ROM versions though.
Simply use it to backup your existing system to an SD card and try out your new ROM. If you decide to go back, reflash to your original ROM and then run the backup .exe file from the SD card. This will give you the desired effect.
Sprite backup is also a good alternative to spb Backup apparently but I haven't personally tried it. http://www.spritesoftware.com

[Q] Making complete backup

Hello,
Would it be possible to make a complete backup of the phone. Something that is re-storable even if I would brick the phone. I guess using the SE update tool is not able to do this, and using the SE update after bricking the phone will restore the default ROM.

The phone comes with a "backup and restore" app that'll back most of your personal data from the phone (text messages, bookmarks, system settings, etc)
If your phone is rooted you can use Titanium Backup to backup and restore apps.
I'm not really expressing myself clearly enough. My excuses.
What I would like is to make a complete backup. Not only data and applications, but also everything related to the kernel, for instance the modules, the init scripts, anything. So I want an exact copy.
An example. At 17 o'clock, I take a backup. Between then and 20 o'clock I replace some stuff one the phone. Things work out bad. No problem, I restore the backup I took at 17 o'clock and have a working phone for there rest of the evening.
Is talking something like nandroid from recovery on HTC devices
i think you want this

[Q] Best way to back-up and restore my system?

So I would like to get the Ubuntu hack working on my atrix but I already rooted, installed 1.57, and installed GladAtrix.
I'm wondering what the best method is to get back to 1.26 and then getting back my data after I do the Ubuntu hack?
I made back-ups with Titanium and CWM, but if I would restore my data, wouldn't that overwrite the Ubuntu hack?
Which program is better for a full system back-up/restore? CWM or Titanium?
I use TiBU and restore ONLY the apps NOT ANY DATA. Restoring system data or app data will likely get you lots of force closes. Its happened to me more than once on the Captivate and I'm not making that mistake again. I restore only the user apps w/ no data. So I'm stuck configuring my settings after every restore but Id rather do that than mess up the phone and be stuck and step one again.
Ok, so if I go back to 1.26 then I can use TiBU to re-install all my programs?
What I would like is something that essentially makes a "ghost" image of my phone so I can return to my exact settings, is that where CWM comes in?
I've recently lost the ability to enter webtop while trying to install Ubuntu. I'm thinking of just going back to 1.26 and starting over since I messed around with some other stuff and dont want to brick my phone later.

CWM will attempt to restore your phone to the exact state it was in when you made the backup, so cwm restore would revert any hack or any changes you have made since the backup.
Yes you can use TiBU to restore your user apps going from any upgrade/mod, even across ROMs. But like i said USER APPS w/o DATA ONLY. Do not restore data or system apps.

[Q] Restoring settings from backup

Ok, so I'm a little new to the flashing scene, but I'm getting better with it. I know to always make a backup and to wipe and all that good stuff. Anyway, I haven't exactly gotten the whole restoring apps from backup down yet. Last time I tried it with TI it completely screwed my phone up, and I got to wipe everything and start over. I don't mind the whole 'download everything all over again' game that happens when I flash something and wipe everything. I mean, I've kind of gotten used to it, but from what I understand, there is an easier way. I understand the whole batch thing in TI. Now, when I make a backup, do I want to make a backup of just the apps, or should I do system data too? And if I did do system data, would that get restored as well? Is there a way to restore my screen set ups, or my lockscreen set up? I'm just kind of curious. If there isn't a way, feel free to just say no. I don't mind setting my phone back up each time. It's a chance to find out what works better and what I don't need, but not having to do it would be nice.
always backup all user apps plus system data it doesn't necessarly mean you need to restore all of this but it is good to have. personally when I restore I use missing apps plus system data. you can always check the apps you don't want. I hope that helps you

Helps a ton. Thank you very much.

Backups hosed

I have a Nexus 6P, rooted. Previous to Marshmallow I used to be able to restore my apps/data/settings pretty easily with Titanium, but now it's a pain. What I want is to be able to perform a clean image install when stock updates come out, then flash TWRP, install Titanium, restore my stuff, move on. But now it's a headache. If I try to restore any system data (call log, anything) Android starts force closing the associated app/service. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Yeah and just about everyone will tell you the same thing. Don't restore system data. Because of the way packages change in updates it is unstable.
