is there a way i can get my gps update back can someone help me

Use the JI6 ROM instead of the JFD one. It has the updates. Or there is a zip file you can flash in clockwork that has the GPS files from one of the leaks. That helped a lot for my phone.

Where may I find that J16 factory suitable for Rom Manager?

It seems the only one that was out has been taken down. Here is the Official JI6 flashable through ODIN only.

I have a Deodexed JI6 that is CW flashable. PM me if you want that one instead.

*Clarification Please* Going from 2.2 to 2.1, proper procedure.

Ok, just for clarification.
Downgrading from a custom 2.2 ROM to 2.1 requires a 2.1 kernel.
Meaning I should first flash a 2.1 ROM/Kernel combo, before restoring my stock ROM backup of 2.1.
But, what if you use ODIN. Can you go from 2.2 Rom/kernel, and put your phone straight to stock 2.1, using the pit and tar file for ODIN found in this forum? Will using ODIN to go back to stock conditions install the proper 2.1 kernel?
THen what about my ROM backup that I made, do I even need to ever install that back, or will the ODIN pit and tar files on this forum put me back to stock?
confusing question, I know!
Yes odin brings you back to stock completely just like it was out of the box I just go through and install everything some people make backups on they're computer of the apps they had
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw

Looking for a rom that contains PDA, PHONE and CSC files...

Evening.
As it says on the tin I'm looking for a ROM that would be flashable via the 3 file way - pda, phone and csc - why? After having a great time with my i9000 I got two T959 veeeery cheap from a mate in U.S. and after sucessfully unlockin them both (manually via editing nv_data etc. - it's fun ) I stumbled upon a problem... constant FC's now am not sure if my i9000 and P1000 method of unlocking is unsuitable for the Vibrant or something was already messed up but I decided to flash it. Choose the JI6 one file .tar rom and flashed it as it's supposed to be flashed...
Now everytime I power on the phone it goes to recovery mode... I tried various things (most of the stuff is on xda already) but sadly I cannot get the stI10 to mount... I reckon the apps are screwed up so am lookin for a 3 file rom - or well any other way on how to fix this mounting problem (copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA...).
Been at it for about 6 hours now without any luck... tried the flashing only pit 1st then only pda (JFD and later JI6) without luck... tried 8 different one file stock roms and no luck at all... Read up on costum roms and all I see is kernels and stuff with which I can't do anything since I can only flash things on the phone... can't use ADB, can't manually push files on the phone to get apps via install from sdcard update.zip etc...
Any help would be greatly appriciated
Cheers in advance, Nightravenn
Youactually need to find (in the vibrant bible there are links) to the JFD odin files. the reason you're not getting that to mount, is JI6 doesn't contain all the files for this like JFD does.
Flash JFD -> Then JI6 (don't check repartition).
Agreed, jfd is full, ji6 is just an upgrade, it doesn't even wipe data.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Cheers it did the trick
Now I just need to find a good way to unlock it since clearly my I9000 way is not the way to go...

Urget reflash needed

Stupid question. iPhone user here. My g/f was experiencing problems with her vibrant so i briefly (real briefly) how to look up guides on how to flash to 2.3.5. Took me a couple times but nevertheless i got it. Little did i know i was flashing the UK version. So now ive been trying to recover and get the phone into a functioning state without success. I'm getting restless. So I'm a couple hours familiar with ODIN. So if anyone can provide me with a guide or links to the (PIT, PDA, PHONE, CSC, ETC) files needed to go to the lasted f/w that will work on t-mobile. She was running 2.1 but i know 2.2 is out there somewhere. Is there a newer version like 2.3.3, 2.3.4, or even 2.3.5? I just want to get it back to fully functional. Right now i tried to flash with Simply Odin and im in a reloading loop... Any help would be appreciated!!

Oh yikes I hope you didn't lose her imei number.
Did you backup her /efs folder, nv_data.bin ????
Hopefully those two are still ok.
Read before you mess with the phone any further, you lose the imei and the phone is useless.
---------- Post added at 05:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:02 AM ----------
Here is some stuff to help you. Just main points, you got to find out how to do it all.
1) backup your /efs which contains your nv_data.bin before you touch anything else.
You need root access to do this, the folder is /efs
Then PUT A COPY ON YOUR COMPUTER as a backup
2) find out if you somehow installed voodoo lagfix, if so turn it off before you flash nything else
3) find out if it's safe to odin back to stock JFD (eclair 2.1) from the gingerbread rom you are on now.
4)If safe, then odin back to stock JFD eclair 2.1 before you install any more roms.
Odin video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svI8QxpAuyc
5) This user has everything you need in his guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13132341#post13132341
Download odin, the pit and tar files also.
All found at that link, to get you back to stock jfd 2.1
6) once you are on stock jfd 2.1. Then you can 1st root, 2nd install clockwork mod recovery, 3rd install froyo 2.2 deodexed/rooted found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036193
I suggest the cwm recovery method, not odin.
7) Once you are back to Froyo 2.2, and you have a t-mobile signal meaning you didn't lose your imei, if you are still dying to run Gingerbread, message back and ill try to help you install it. There is NO OFFICIAL GINGERBREAD, the last official firmware for Vibrant was Froyo 2.2
Someone mind helping this guy with some suggestions.
He can't odin back to stock jfd, he gets in a bootloop.
So he tried eugenes froyo that doesn't brick, then tried going back to stock jfd, and still same thing.
He is new to Vibrant. I'm not sure what's going on with his phone.
I ran out of suggestions for him.

[Q] Is there no stock Rogers files out there?

so ive been reading and looking around a lot, eventually decided to go with the overcome experience and everything is running great, xcept for the ebooks app not working on it for the 3G rogers tab
but what ive been trying to find now is the stock Rogers kernel and recovery files in case something does go wrong with the tab and i need to get it back to stock to submit it back for warranty work
the best ive been able to find is this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405324
which is a stock 3.2, and in the thread people are claiming that it is a Rogers version and has the unnecessary Rogers apps on it
i downloaded it and tried it out, and its not a stock Rogers version, doesn't come with the Rogers apps, and when plugged in to Kies it states its not a version that supports updates through Kies, therefore it definetly isn't a stock Rogers version
Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get the files to be able to get my Tab back to Rogers stock version in case something does happen, or do these files simply not exist and since i already flashed over them it's too late to ever go back to stock?
Thanks
That RUXKK2 is exactly the rom I have right now on my Rogers Tab.
I simply assume it has to be flashed through Odin only;
Kies is for "legit" updates only (and sync) ; it is not a dev nor a recovery tool. Maybe it stated updates were not supported because you are rooted.
Doesnt matter anyway; you will receive updates through Samsung Updates anyway directly on your tablet; you'll simply loose root.
i did use odin to flash that stock rom, and no i wasn't rooted, as the rom itself doesn't come with root by default
all i did was flash with odin, it rebooted, then i completed a factory reset/wipe
and then plugged it in to Kies to see if it was in fact a retail stock version and could get the updates through Kies
i dont really care for updating through Kies as im perfectly happy with overcome mod atm, but i would like to have all the stock rogers files (recovery, kernel and rom or w/e else i need) just in case i ever need to revert back to stock to bring the tablet in for warranty issues
the RUXKK2 rom may be stock, but it definitely doesn't include the stock rogers kernel version
any ideas where those could be found? or if it could be extracted from a nandroid backup? i completed a nandroid backup of my stock device before i flashed overcome
Flashing your Nandroid will get you back to stock no? Thats the purpose of it I thought to get you back to your previous state in case something goes wrong. Nandroid backups are flashed through CWM though not Odin, under Backup and restore options.
Nandroid does not backup the kernel.

yea, nandroid doesnt back up everything :/
i think the stock kernel and stock recovery files to flash through odin is what would be needed, and judging by the replies im getting i don't think those exist out there for the rogers tablet :/
i even checked http://www.samfirmware.com and couldn't really find a rogers or Canadian version, but sure did find ppl on the forums asking about it
if any1 knows how to maybe get those files off a stock tablet, i do have a 2nd GT 10.1 Rogers that has not been changed or modded in any way that i could attempt to extract the kernel and recovery file from if i knew how
I also am looking for a stock rogers rom. I currently run overcome with no issues, but should I need work done under warranty, I need to flash back to stock before I send it in. The link above was what I also found during a forum search, which kies does NOT recognize. Has anyone been able to find or extract the stock rom that comes with a Rogers 10.1 out of the box?
Ooops mistaken threads..

[STOCK][ODIN][GB][Telus] For those who wish to revert to stock Telus

The system/boot image is packed in an Odin-flashable .tar. However, since I apparently suck at making Odin-flashable modem .tars, I'm including pterry30's CWM-flashable modem .zip for completionists sake.
Files Available
NB: The system-boot.tar is zipped to save space. Please extract the .tar before flashing via Odin.
pda-odin-telus-stock-system-boot.tar - This .tar contains the stock system.img.ext4 and stock boot.img and can be used to assist in resetting your flash counter using braway's method. Flash it via Odin's pda option. Unfortunately, no one has provided me with the stock Telus recovery thus I obviously cannot provide it to anyone else. Sorry.
Telus-Modem-CWM.zip - This .zip is made by pterry30 and contains the stock Telus modem/radio files. Just flash via Clockworkmod recovery.
SkyDrive folder containing all Telus files - Public SkyDrive folder that contains the above Telus files since my public DropBox links keep being suspended due to excessive traffic.

Just flashed with odin and noticed the following:
1) the flash counter didnt reset, actually added 1 to the counter
2) after flashing, cwm was still on the phone. *flashed a stock telus recovery to fix that.
3) Does not automatically format internal sd
4) Does not restore to factory default settings
5) Boot up music doesnt play
Is it possible to fix these issues?
btw ... why is it such a huge image?

Please read through the entire post. You didn't provide me with a recovery so I could not include it. Also, to use the flash-counter reset, you need CWM, which is why I don't typically include recovery in the Odin-flashable. See the link to braway's method in the OP. The way the flash-counter works, anything that you flash that isn't just a system image increases the flash counter. I had to include the kernel, thus the flash-counter goes up. Using braway's method that I linked to will allow you to completely restore your Note to stock using my files and the recovery you found. If you could provide me with a link to the recovery, I will gladly add it to the OP so others do not have to go looking for it.
No Odin-flashable .tar clears the internal sd or restores the phone to factory settings. It only changes the system image. Kind of like installing windows again on your computer doesn't overwrite all your data unless you format the hard drive.
Also, not owning a Telus Note, I didn't know there was supposed to be boot music. That I cannot explain. I used Da-G's kernel. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue.
As for file size, it's the same size as all the other ones. And the same size as the files you provided me. The system.img.ext4 on any Note is about 1 GB.
I hope this clears some of this up.

help, cant get back to stock from ics custom rom.
tried flashing this with no success.
odin freezes and if it says it flashes successfully, phone wouldnt boot after the restart.
came from ics objection rom and wanting to go back to stock.
i cant get anything that i flash through odin working.
ics objection rom runs fine when i flash it back through cwm.
tried flashing stock rooted image from another thread and i get stuck at "the touch the android to begin screen".
any idea whats going on? i know im just doing something wrong because my phone works fine with the objection rom whenever i flash it but when i try to get back to stock, thats where everything gets messed up.
any kind of help would be appreciated.
I've found that the "touch the android to begin" problem occurs if you haven't factory reset when coming from ICS back to this stock ROM. Reboot into CWM and factory reset then reboot the phone,. You should now be able to touch the Android to begin.

Full Stock
I am good. Finally got the steps done so Kies liked my phone again.

Hi,
I am trying to go back to full stock from a failed ICS update.
I flashed your pda-odin-telus-stock-system-boot.tar file and I
can get back into the phone but Kies won't allow me to do updates?
What is my next step? Do I need a Telus Stock Recovery file?
Is Kies looking at the flash counter and saying no to updating
my phone because it has gone up?
My phone is not rooted, never has been.
My understanding is Kies won't update if it is rooted and also
to reset the counter with Braway's method you need to be rooted....
I'm real new to all this and all I want is a stock Kies updateable
phone back. Maybe I should have just gave it back to Telus....
Thanks for any help...

After installing the Telus-Modem-CWM.zip file, my phone found the system update and is currently downloading. I will post if this fixed the issue. In any case, Thanks!
My phone is not updating. I have flashed the CWM touch using odin but it won't boot into CWM mode.
Strangely, my baseband remains T989 KJ3 even though I have manually uploaded the files from the "stock" files via adb... it changed from VKL to KJ3...
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot why I can't reboot to CWM? I have flashed it several times now and all were successful. From what I can tell, I have the stock image since I no longer have root.
I have a Telus Note, which I flashed to Rogers ROM so I can get LTE on Rogers and it has now been upgraded to ICS.
But I hate the Rogers crap that comes installed with the ROM and was wondering if its possible to load the TELUS ROM (minus Radio) so I can continue using Rogers LTE?

I just want to say thank you for this. I know this is an old thread, but I just purchased a Rogers i717. I had it unlocked to use my TELUS account, and i kept getting strange errors.
I flashed the stock TELUS image, and modem. From 2.3.6 using Kies I was able to upgrade to 4.0.4.
I must say, TELUS does not put any bloatware on their device compared to the Rogers.
Thank you again

I'm using a Rogers Note on Telus. Speeds are the same, exactly, coming from the Amaze and Xperia Play, you still get 4G/LTE in the same places.
