Okay im completely new to this idea of ROMs. I would like to get one set up on my hd2 for a few reasons;
-Speed (No lag issues)
-Aesthetic Value (Looks Awesome)
-No bugs that Ive currently got on stock ROM
I've heard from friends that android ROMs are the way to go but reallly ive no clue. I had a look in the ROM forum and i found hundreds of different ROMs so im really just looking for somewhere to start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated =]

Right now I'm running the stock Sprint ROM. All I really want to change (man I'm getting boring in my old age!) is the TouchFlo version. I reallllly want the calendar tab on the main screen.
Do I have to flash my entire ROM to get that or can you just upgrade/install over the old TouchFlo? I search the forums here with a variety of key words but everything I found pointed back to ROMs of some sort.
Thanks for the help guys!

You can probably upgrade to a later version of TF3D, but truth be told... it would me much simpler to flash since there is a slew of things that need to be done to get the extra tabs and such. Besides, flashing to something like the NRG roms will boost your TP's performance... a lot!
Do you have any suggestions?
I actually just gave my Touch Pro to my wife... so while *I* have a huge tolerance after years and years of flashing ROMs and tweaking phones for the hiccups that come with such matters, I don't want to put her in a position of having to trouble shoot her phone without me or it crashing on her.
She's all about juicing up her phone with a new ROM but I don't want it to be horrible experience for her.
I was looking, earlier today, at NFSFAN's rom. It seems to be very well received although it looked like people were having trouble with the push-based syncing (which would be a deal breaker since her phone syncs to Google)

NFS is usually good... I would try that as well as NRG, Mighty, Vevitto, and probably Juicy. Hope that helps...

How to upgrade it? ive installed the Stock ROM on my TP(GSM) from site sunnysoft.com/htc/ and its kinda flawless and very very fast. I dont wanna change the ROM but i could use the calendar tab from sense 2.1 cos i find it very handy.. is there a way to add it to my tf3d ?
I tried to install sense 2.1 from cabs on this ROM but had the problem updating weather so i dropped it, besides that the ROM wasnt working so smoothly anymore.

Stuff for Sense/TF3D tend to write and drop a bunch of files under the Windows directory, which (under most cases) will slow down your device. So, getting it pre-cooked is always better as it is cleaner than the installation.
Hi Guys I bought my HTC HD2 5 months ago and ever since it has been slow or had connectivity issues and i had the phone replaced but its still really laggy. I was looking into installing a custom rom to hopefully improve its performance but im not exactly sure what to do. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated , Thanks .

It was very very diaspointing for me too when i first bought my Hd2. I had to reemove battery at least once a day. I had to restart all the time. Booting was taking a long time. Battery life was so poor. It was very laggy almost everytime.
All of this were until i started using minimalistic custom ROMs. Now everything is much more stable and reliable. So i dont complain anymore. Just do the HSPL and install a light weight ROM + latest radio. I also recommend MIUI Android builds.
When i tried to install a Custom Rom my HSPL version was 2.10 which wasnt support and it said "bad id model" . but if you could assist me in doing it correctly i would appreciate it
İf you have T-mobile US version with 1024mb memory go here:

If you have regular Hd2 with 512mb memory go here:

dang.. too bad i didn't saw your message earlier
is the problem the same after flashing? If so... check out your sd card... HD2 likes to come up with "buggy" ones. and thats a pretty common thing. And it was same for me as well Yeah i know its a funny thing but IF your phone is SLOW... then just take off your SD... and i bet it will be ultra-fast once again. Anyways you can buy a new one right? like i did
Hi, i just got me a 3VO 3D but im a CyanogenMod person, sadly we dont have a stable ROM yet, ()i don't like sense at all but im stuck with it, ive tried senseless roms but that didn't do the trick either.
So i have decided to stay as stock as possible until CM7 Guys do their magic, =) i`m looking for a STOCK ROM with sprints bloatware removed and other tweaks to it like CIQ, being faster etc All I want a stock rom with the less unwanted programs and stuff to it, Sense itself its already taken so much out of this phone.
I have done my research but i would like to know other persons opinions, I also know that every person will like a different ROM because that's a personal choice but i would love to get some ideas on what ROM to flash.
Also wich kernel will work better with a ROM like this? because i will overclock until i see smoke coming out my speaker
Many thanks and God bless
Hi guys!
I've been rather adamant to install ICS as I considered it to have too many bugs yet (like problems with video acceleration, unable to do a goddamn call, etc).
As of now I've been using the GB ROM Simple & Clean...Anyway, I'm not completely newbie to flash ROMs. I'm starting to think ICS might be becoming reliable already, so I'd like to give it a shot. So here come my questions:
Is there any XXLP2 (or better) ROM already prepared for CWM? I don't quite like the idea of using ODIN. (If so, is it too customized? I'd like a close to the original google experience)
Can you get back to a GB NAND backup if you don't like what you see?
Which would be your recommendation? Thank you!

There are quite a few cwm ICS roms which you can find in Android development section. Which means no bootloader flash and easy restore to older rom.
There are ROM's like infected, ics resurrection which are ics theme and replace Samsung apps with google alternatives in cases of calendar, gallery, camera etc.
My recommendation would be to wait for an official ICS or a more stable build by which time more aosp feel rom's would have become more stable, which didn't seem to be the case IMO. (the stock leaked one seems to be far more stable than these builds atm from my admittedly limited trial. )

You can try Bezke ultraics rom. i heard good reviews for it and i tried it myself, you can do so by using CWM. you can as well try the leaked ics but it only has TW because it is released by Samsung. this is done by ODIN.

I know, and I've seen the pattern so many times already. But that's decreasing with the time. Things are starting to get comfortable for people arriving, and some decide to stay. And since some are saying the ROMs are starting to be rather stable, I'd like to give them a shot.

Yes maybe but the majority of noobs want to flash ICS when they are not even capable of flashing stock . Two hours later they start posting help help .But i have of now given up on trying to guide users to learn first as its a waste of time .

So far not bad. I'm trying the Wanamlite, and it looks damn gorgeous. I'm having a hell of FC and random reboots. It's a pity. When it's not crashing or rebooting, it really performs beautifully. I could get used to the voice dictation so fast (forget about swype-dragon speaking combo). Since I didn't see people complaining about these reboots (that much), I take something went wrong on my side, so I'll give it another shot. Otherwise I'll try another ICS. I just feel it's getting rather close the date in which an stable version is released, and I'd prefer to jump from ICS already than from GB
used this thread to my actual try of LP2 :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444651
full stock, only deodexed and CF-Root kernel.
After getting rid of all samsung hubs and SNS apks ( you can use the sitcky in themes and apps section started by Pulser_g2 for that : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069924 ), no more force closes for me.
trying now KP* kernels as someone reported they could fix the random data connection loss present on LP2 when phone is asleep.
Hi All
I have been happily running CM7 on my Atrix for quite a while now. Because it has not had any issues (apart from the odd random reboot), I haven't kept up with new developments.
However, I recently bought a tablet and am running CM9 on it. I quite like it. But looking around the Atrix Dev forum, there is a bewildering array of CM9/10 ROMs and others, and I have no idea where to start. I don't have the time to go through them all.
So, I was wondering:
Does anyone have any recommendations as to a stable, everyday use CM9/10 ROM I could try out?
I have seen dual-boot ROMs in there. Are there any which include a stock-based/unrooted ROM?
In general, what are people's impressions of CM9/10 and Android 4+ on a phone?
Thanks so much for your help. I feel like such a n00b having to ask... That's what you get when you have a few months away.
BTW, the reason I would like to have an unrooted ROM in a dual boot environment is for a few apps which do not work with root, mainly Barclays banking app but a few others too. I don't mind having to reboot to get at them.

I would recommend you to try the "somebody's cm10 with those libs", it's JB with HWA, battery isn't that great but if you want to have a JB with HWA that's the option.
All the others cm10/cm9 will have the normal probles: cam corder not working, etc. There are some greats, epinter's cm10 is actually great.
You won't find any stable cm10/cm9 yet because there is no official kernel for them.
There's a reason why GB is still the most widely used version on this device. Although there are many ICS/JB builds available, there aren't actually any as of yet that will have everything working and still be as stable as CM7/GB.
OK, thanks.
Having a look at the threads joelorona pointed out, I think I will stick with CM7 for now. It's been fairly stable for months now and I'm getting a bit spoiled (I haven't had a phone as stable as this since I discovered custom ROMs for android phones)
Rom TopSmarts 1.3 is a good long lasting cm7
