I just installed Eugenes Mancut 6 and now multitouch keyboard is the only one i have, swype is gone! why? and how do i get it back?
Ok nevermind i didn't do as much reading as i should of. I found the swype.zip on here and installed it but one problem, I can type words by manually doing it one letter at a time but when i actually try to slide my finger and spell words the real swype way it won't work and and blue lined box flashes around the keyboard.

Did you long press then select input method? Make sure swype is selected.

Ok Getting tired of this.. I Hate HTC keyboard, but I love Gingerbreads.. However I hate the Fact that when I text someone or type its looks like this :
hello.this.is.a.test to. see what.happens
The Perioid is in the way or the spacebar needs to be bigger I cant decide? Anyone else have this issue?
I Tried using swype but I dont have the Patients for it. Its a great concept just not for me? Any Solutions out there?
Is there anyway to get the OG Droids soft keyboard layout on the Tbolt?
I don't know what's wrong with your keyboard but I'm typing this on gingerbread keyboard and its working fine. I don't have any issues with it. I have also used Swype but for some reason, lately it doesn't seem to figure out what I'm trying to swype so I switched to this keyboard and have been quite happy.

Download the gingerbread keyboard from the market. That's what I finally had to do. I had the same issues. Just the way I use the keyboard i guess.

I'm the same way. The only respite I've found is from using other keyboards from the market. Just look around and try some different ones, and find out which works best for you.
I found that if I make the settings key always hide and move the mic key to the symbols page it makes the spacebar a bit longer and easier to hit w/o touching the period. might be worth a shot for you guys.

Care to share? I'm not seeing it.
Settings > language & keyboard > gb keyboard > voice input
You also might want to try out swiftkey, as I haven't had any issues with it. It is leaps and bounds better than the stock keyboard.
is there a way to change the "done" button to "send" like in the regular froyo keyboard? annoying to have to press the "done" button and select "send" in the next screen.
UPDATE: Noticed this only happens in landscape mode. Regular view shows "send" key and "attachment key". what gives? is this a flaw in the app?

Nothing beats Swiftkey. Most ingenious keyboard around and works as well as advertised. I just don't like that sometimes it lags as it pulls predictions from my history. Maybe because I have so many SMS?
The trick with the mic and settings key (set to always hide) worked! Thanks. I like the GB keyboard for a change of pace.

This. And I hid the voice and settings buttons to make the spacebar bigger. But I am using swiftkey, its better in my opinion. The prediction engine is excellent and saves me from typing at all.
Is there anybody else who might enjoy having swype pop-up the letters above your finger when you type one letter at a time? I realize this would only be beneficial when you have to manually enter unknown words, but I think it might make for a little easier typing if you could see the letter, like in the stock Android keyboard.
Any thoughts?
im currently using thumb keyboard when just using the tablet and the auto complete/correct works great. however, when i use the physical keyboard, i cant get any kind of autocomplete or correct to work, it just leaves word misspelled and underlines them. is there any way i can have autocorrect function when the physical keyboard is being used?
thanks

unfortunately, when prime is being used with dock or even with Bluetooth keyboard, prime stops auto-correct. The only keyboard app that still has auto-capitalize and auto-correct option is Smart Keyboard Pro. but it doesn't recognize shift key on prime dock, so you can't use !()?: keys.
I just hope Smart Keyboard Pro fixes this issue asap.
use swiftkey works fine with dock.
Or ~.~
you could just learn to type better? :] not trying to start anything i promise you but i don't truly see a great reason for the autocorrect on a physical keyboard? Maybe for bigger words but this is where our human brains should push ourselves to think. :] I mean I'm not saying it wouldn't be a nice feature. But Party on! TFP ROOTED!

Have you ever thought about that people are not always typing in their native language and that correction can be a good Help?
For me exempel, My language is Swedish and for that I don't need predictions or correction. But when on XDA and i had to write in English the correction and predictions comes in use. I know what I want to type but don't know exactly how it's its spells. So I just type how it sounds in my head and gets predictions on what I trying to write.
Think it's helps everyone, the grammar is fick up but atlest the words is correctly. And it make it easier for everybody to understand what I trying to say.
And for the keyboard I think "Swiftkey Tablet X" does a good job with the dock.. You get a little line on the bottom of your screen with the predictions and suggestions.

All buttons work, Haven't find any problems. Shift !()?: keys works as i should

very good point made. english speakers should take note. but in truth, it is harder for me to check the ''correction'' bar than it is to backspace when i see a mistake. i guess thats just the habit of using a physical keyboard for years on pcs
just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone has a solution yet, as i havent found anything that addresses my original problem
I installed v1.8 of Shostock3 this morning -- did a full, wipe coming from v1.7. All seemed to be fine until I got a text. When I tapped to type, a new keyboard popped up -- one that I don't recognize. It's kind of a floating keyboard with a tab at the top that allows you to move it around. Unfortunately, the keyboard takes up a lot of screen real estate so it usually covers the input box so you can't see what you're typing. Also, the sym/123 keyboard is really different -- it doesnt show the numbers at all and has really big keys with symbols on them. Can anyone tell me what I have done to get this new keyboard? Is it an upgrade in 1.8? Is there anyway to go back to the one I had in 1.7? I have searched -- seems I'm the only lucky one with this keyboard? Any help would be appreciated.

That's what I needed -- thanks!
When I type text, the keyboard automatically loads one of the three suggested words on top of keyboard (usually the wrong one of course) into my text making typing a real pain in the rear.
How do I get rid of these suggested words?
It usually loads the center word. The left hand word is usually the one I want.
Also the "word prediction" field in the settings area is dimmed meaning I have no access to green check mark.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, why do the "image verification" letters in this forum have to be so blurry? I have to reselect numerous times before I get one I can read.
You could try another third party keyboard. I hate the stock keyboard so I got swift key and have been using it for 2 years. You could try it out I really enjoy it and if you like it, but it will fix your issue your having with the stock one.

You can touch the word you want and it will fill it in to what you are typing. Also under Settings/Language&Keyboard/HTC Sense Input/Advanced you can only turn off word prediction if you uncheck trace keyboard.
Swift key app
Purchased swift key app.
