I was wondering if I could delete the APK that handles the OTAs. Will it brick my phone of I do? Or can I uninstall it and nothing will happen?

I tried a Titanium restore too, and just had to factory restore thanks to it screwing everything up. At least the root stuck through the restore.

Problem With Update

Im trying to download the update and I get an error code of 402 and says update failed once it reboots.
I have used ExynosAbouse to patch the exploit if that may be the problem. Help?
Did you change your launcher to one of the 4x5 or 5x5? If so revert back to stock and try again

Can anyone help? Or anyone experience this?

How to prevent the update?

I keep saying no to the update but it still keeps trying to do it automatically. I put it in airplane mode but it still shows up. Does anyone know how to stop it?
I would like to know this as well because it's gonna update if I don't keep my eye on my phone

I deleted the checkinprovider.apk, cotaclient.apk, and updater.apk and the .odex files that go with them.
EDIT: It still wants to update
If you have a custom recovery it wont even install. so dont worry if you have one.
What will it do if I download it

It's the htcDm app that downloads the update
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium HD app
Once you download and defer install or choose to install it will it prevent it from asking again though? or will it continue? It's getting annoying.
What about removing the htcDm did that resolve anything?
Nits made a mod

Just push it to system/app using Root Explorer and set permissions to rw--r--r
I installed it with rom customizer and fixed permissions but it's still crashing?

[Q] Fully Uninstalling App

I have a SGP 4.2 and rooted it. My question is can I fully uninstall Angry birds? It comes preinstalled. And I try to uninstall the normal way but doesn't remove it. I want to try removing it with titanium backup but don't know if it will brick my player. Anyone know?

First you need to be rooted as this is a system app, then you can use titanium to remove it.

I can't remember what that app does, but I don't think anything bad will happen if you delete it. Not sure why would want to anyway.

Lol angry birds is a game. I don't play it. Waste if space really.

Isn't there an app called "angrybirds" on the stock ROM?
It's safe to remove. Any game is safe to remove with TB. Chat On and g+ too. Samsung Kies also. As long is not an essential function you can uninstall it.

One more question, is "social hub" safe for removal? It gives me a warning when trying to use TB. Something ahout how its "tied to the rom".
Sent from my YP-GI1 using xda app-developers app
It should be safe. In fact, most of the samsung apps are safe to be removed, like All share and the Samsung app store.
