Hey friends.
first of all, sorry for the noob questions. there are just a few things that aren't clear to me.
It says that when flashing a rom that includs a voodoo fix - the voodoo fix and any other lagfix should be disabled first.
there are things that aren't clear to me.
if I move from a rom with voodoo fix to another rom with voodoo fix - is disabling also required?
what if I have a voodoo-rom and I run the voodoo-disable patch? will the rom stop working?
if I move from a stock rom to a voodoo-rom is flashing just done normally? I don't have to do anything prior?
I am afraid of bricking and don't know much about this voodoo patch
thanks
*Sigh* Wrong forum.
This is android DEVELOPMENT forum not Q & A. And there is a Q & A forum.
sorry about that!

tried to root and flash rom on vibrant but i am now completely lost ! can someone help me restoring it back ?
im currently on voodoo lagfix not really familiar with this, i own a mytouch 4g and rootong it was way easier
Vibrant is probably one of the easiest Android devices to root and develop. You've seen nothing yet
Anyway, use this to root and go back to stock. Doesn't get any simpler really.
EDIT: More about rooting and developing here. Step by step guide.
why did u open another thread? u could of had ur question answered in ur original im in trouble thread....
Hi all,
I'm a really noobie on android customization and I was looking for the RESURRECTİON REMİX İCS ROM v9.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854&highlight=tutorial) and I read and searched over the dev thread and I saw the sequence and what I need to install, but the problem is: how to install those stuff? If anyone could help me on that I would appreciate that.
Thank you so much.
If you need to ask, you shouldn't for a moment consider trying. Wait for ICS to be officially released by Samsung for your device or do some reading yourself. Being a noob is a choice you make, not something you're born with.

Well, those files are needed to be added into your phone and then installed through CWM (Clockworkmod Recovery)
You'll want first root the phone with a kernel that has CWM as well. CF-Root would be the best one for beginners, you can find it on the Original Development thread and follow the steps there to root your device.
Afterwards, you'll want to reboot your device to CWM (Vol Up + Home + Power button when device is off) and install all the necessary files in sequence (using install zip from sdcard). First, make sure you do a nandroid backup incase you wanna go back to your old firmware if you regret it.
I'm pretty sure if you research more throughout the forums, you'll find out what you need to do (hell, it did for me, so it should for you as well)
Good luck!!
Read the sub forum stickys there's guides to rooting flashing etc.
XDA is a development site and a little leg work is needed.
Thread closed.
Sent from the valley of the shadows....
Ok. Thank you both. I'll follow what you said and do a deeper research and reading. Thank you so much, sorry bothering.
Hi Guys,
Just got an s3 GT-I900T moving from a HTC Desire HD.
Few questions in regards to rooting as I rooted my DHD which was rather easy.
My questions are
1. Firmware v Rom - What's the difference and do I need to flash both or..?
2. Anything you would recommend I should know that is different in the rooting process for the device?
Accessories related questions
1. I've tried finding it, but how much thicker does using the Hyperion 4200mAH make the phone, from photo's it looks to make it roughly double the size?
2. For the Hyperion 2200mAH - How more time does it bring the battery to, eg from a day to a day and a half or?
Sorry if my questions seem stupid.. they do seem a little stupid to me, but I did try searching - possibly I'm just terribly at seaching for things

1. Not sure if there is really a big difference. Firmware for me is a rom, custom roms are also roms/firmwares in a way
2. Read the Stickies in the General thread, it will help you to get behind the rooting process.
ps: I guess you meant GT-I9300T not GT-I900T

Yes I did mean that..
In regards to 1 - Cool, I was hoping they were the same, hence the stupid question part, thanks Chrismast.
2 - Good call, missed the sticky that actually mattered - Saw it as the following;

I have personally moved away from permanent custom recoveries, and I am no longer supporting them. On newer devices they cause flash counter and OTA flashing issues. If you really want one, others do provide versions of CWM and TWRP for most devices. Personally I just use Mobile ODIN to install ZIPs and Titanium Backup for my backup/restore needs. I do always want root though, and as such I'm still supporting CF-Auto-Root as quick way to root."
Originally I was going to install CWM, but yeah, what's the best way to go about this?

yes, you can use CF-Auto-Root whereas I did not use it as it was not available (?) that time, but I am sure there is a guide in that thread. Otherwise you could use CF-Root 6.4. Make sure you have the international I9300/T version though! Also a good start to read is here. For backups, once you installed CWM you will be able to do a nandroid backup. In addition backup your EFS folder and copy it to your computer, instructions here. I hope it helps!
Hi guys! I don't know if this is the correct thread to post this question, but I'll ask anyway.
First, I'm using a LG SU660, trying to flash Civato's FLEX_ICER_Rev4.7 for SU660. But while in aroma, the installer ends prematurely at 20% in the file libjpeg.so. I tried flashing it on a 2X with the same file but different rom and kernel of course, it successfully flashed!
My question is, how to fix such problem with libjpeg.so in aroma? The developer seems not interested on answering queries like this anymore. So hopefully someone can enlighten me or in any way.. I need this rom/kernel.
Thanks in advance!
anyone?
