I do feel a little sheepish asking this question but how does one properly reset battery stats. I just updated to Obsidian v2, best Rom out there right now, insane battery life, but I am using old battery stats. Not sure how to reset the stats to get even more life. A link or how to would be great, thanks.

reboot into clockwork recovery, choose advanced, chose wipe battery stats, reboot.
Great thanks.
Charge it all the way to 100%
Reboot into CWM recovery -> Advanced -> Wipe Battery Stats while still plugged into a power source
Reboot
Unplug the device, and drain it all the way till it shutsdown
Charge to 100% while the device is shutdown

Hi!
Yesterday when my battery was at 88%, I wiped the batt stats from Amon Ra.
When I switched on my phone, my hero told me that the battery was full (100%).
I want to know something more about Recalibration of the battery by wiping battery stats. Searching on the Internet somebody tells that is important to wipe batt stats when the battery is empty, and then charge it.
Other people reccomend to wipe battery stats when the battery is full.
What do you suggest?
Thanks

The way I've learned to recalibrate the battery is to let it go down to 5%, boot phone into recovery and wipe batterystats, then power off the phone. Let the phone charge until the green led is on without turning it on. Then turn on and use the phone as usual. Learned it over at modaco. Worked as a charm, and batterytime was improved. I have personally experienced strange batterybehaviour after periods with flashing a lot of roms.

Yep, every time I flash a ROM it's suggested to do a full wipe, battery stats also, and i think that with a lot of flashing, the battery behavour become strange.
I tried that "trick" today on my phone, I will tell you how is battery life.
Thank you!

No problem! Good luck
I'm going to try this tonight and will report back my findings tomorrow.
I just hope I don't get any important calls or texts while it's turned off to charge
Any update on your experiments guys as I am about to do the battery stats wipe too.
Any updates on this?
Ooops, I forgot to reply back but it's been covered in different threads in the Hero section and for other Android phones... it does work.
As others have said, after flashing different ROMs the battery starts to mis-report but this trick seems to sort it out
So the question is inspired by the numerous references to the 'battery reconditioning' procedure. Is it necessary/desirable to reset the battery stats after inserting a spare one? The follow up question: are the battery stats remembered for individual batteries, and if so - how many battery stats it can remember?
From Team Whisky's site:
1. Charge phone completely, leave plugged into power
2. Boot into recovery
3. Wipe battery stats
4. Reboot to normal
5. Remove power cable
6. Drain that sucker all the way
7. Recharge fully
8. Rejoice!"
My problem is I do not see an option to wipe battery stats when I boot into recovery, be it clockwork or stock recovery, what gives?
Clockword Recovery > Advanced > Wipe battery stats (I am pretty sure)

In Clockwork, Install Packages>> Advanced >> Wipe Battery Stats.
To the OP: I don't think it remembers multipie batteries. I wouldn't reset each time you switch out. Assuming your batteries are the same capacity, the meter should be close enough.

Thanks, the problem is that one battery is (obviously) Samsung OEM, while others are cheap replicas (with the same nominal capacity). I noticed they last much less, which is expected, but I wonder if part of the problem is incorrect battery stats... It is too bad if multiple stats cannot be remembered...
I'll try to "recondition" the replica battery and see if
A) that improves its life
B) it negatively affects OEM battery life
I'll post the results here. If B) really happens, then a mod is necessary that preserves battery stats...
Can someone please tell me how I do this on a rooted 2.1? It's driving me mad trying to google it and I need to reset the battery stats to improve the battery life.
install xrecovery (dev thread) goto "advanced" > "wipe battery stats".
Edit: i just used this myself, but how would this "improve" the lifecycle of a battery?
Do SE battery's have a chip on them that counts the used hours/days, or is it just the android fw that keeps track?
(I have 2 fake battery's also (ebay), so i never run out of juice in case of the chip.. i bet these fake's dont have a chip.. kinda like fake PSP batterys (special pandora's excluded))
it won't improve the battery life.
however, you can maintain your battery life and align the battery stats to actual battery level by draining it until the phone cannot power back on. plug it in, wipe stats, power off, let it charge fully, then leave it on the charger for about an hour afterwards before powering it back on.

EDIT: Oops... wrong thread
anyone know how to wipe batt stats if phone is not rooted?
is it even possible?
Hey all, I did a quick search but didn't find an obvious answer. I've tried quite a few GB Roma on my Thunderbolt and I know it's good to periodically reset battery data through ClockworkMod. I'm looking for a specific order of operations. The following is how I've been doing it. Charge fully, reboot into recovery. Unplug phone. Clear battery info. Shut down phone and plug in until fully charged. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Just download battery calibration from the market. Once your phone is fully charged, wipe battery stats in the application and then unplug your phone and let it die. Then charge your baby back up.
I believe that application won't let you wipe the battery stats until it's fully charged.

Battery Calibration app is the easiest way for clearing battery stats. I notice after after two days I see huge improvement in battery life. Remember after that first full charge and clearing the stats make sure you let your phone die.

This is a simple way to increase the battery life in cyanogenmod... this worked for me,..
1. Goto cwm and clear the battery stats
2. Charge the phone to 100% (make sure it is 100% by checking the battery status..)
3. NOw allow it to completely discharge ... do not connect the charger until the phone is shutdown automatically...
4. Once the phone turned off due to complete draining of the battery, charge it and use it normally..,
hope it helps
i have a better idea, bring powerbank 5200ma or up, when u go out. ur device will not run out battery even on hard gaming all day long. like i did

yep, maybe it doesnt help but it work for me
1st charge 100% while phone is on
2nd reboot to cwm n wipe battery stats
3rd turn the phone off then charge it to 100%, cause it will tell u that ur battery isnt full yet (charge it about 20 minutes or more)
4th turn it on while still charging
5th unplug the charger n use ur phone as usual

If it doesn't help, then how does it work???
I'm not trying to argue here, I'm just saying that wiping the stats won't help improving battery life. So if you say so, on what basis?
Anyways, cheers!
not improving battery life but, correcting current battery stats. it happen when u often switch rom n restore from cwm then u feel like ur battery drain more quickly than usual, so i tried the method i post earlier n it works

The battery stat is wiped to calibrate the battery... We may have to calibrate the battery after every rom install..
