[Q] MemoryMap menu bar onHD2 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have installed MemoryMap for PDa version 5.1.3.
It has opreviously worked well - but not this time.
The Menu bar onlyu shows 50% of the keys. The all importnat GPS Lock button is missing. It appears the Menu Bar is just too big to fit on the screen and the right most 3 buttons slip of the side!
A posisble solution is to allocate the GPS Lock to a button using MemoryMap options. However I cannot find out which button is which.
My prefernce is to see the whole menu bar - any ideas?
Thanks in anticiaption

Stand to be corrected but I don't think it is possible to have all buttons on view in portrait mode, I have set application to auto rotate in BsB thus all buttons show in landscape mode and lock button can be operated.
I also can't assign hardware buttons to custom commands, once again i don't think this is possible in version 5.13.
Energy C00kie 1.85 Rom

Thanks for the reply.
I am sure that, using some version of WM5.?, I did have the buttons on view in portrait. However, as you say, using WM6.5.X the device needs to be in landscape to see all the buttons.
Elsewhere on this site the HyperRom Ultra v15 is recommended for MemoryMap - sorry cannot find the link at the moment.
I intend to install HyperRom and see what that is like.
Ian

I have MM 5.1.3 build 716 and all the buttons are visible along the bottom in portrait mode - including GPS lock, info toggle half of the 'i' icon.
I'm also on stock 3.14 ROM.
It sounds like you managed to install the QVGA version instead of VGA version - how I have no idea unless you have used a .cab ?
Mine was installed from the MM desktop version - send to PDA option.
It's the HD2 that prevents hardware keys being used in MM, not MM itself - 5.1.3 hardware keys used to work fine on my old Dell Axim.

Rotate your WM2003SE screen from start menu.

For all of those who are now running SE thanks to dcs and others. Just download this little app, unzip it, run setup when connected via activesync and then add it to your start menu. Works like a charm and saves having to hard map a button to rotate your screen we are already limited to buttons as it is. I just put it at the top of my start menu and can use from any application of course. Thank you guys for all of your hard work.
not bad at all. but what i did was use phm plus; it gives you the short cut icons to the items in the settings folder (like bt, clock, input, etc). in this case i copied the "screen" shortcut and had it appear in the today screen using tdlaunch. just click on the icon and the option for landscape or portrait comes up.
cheers
thanks .. that was a very nice utility ..
Cool, another way is to assign it a hardware button, very easy t flip on the fly.
RE
Hi ZeroXtreme!
If you'll to assign the RotateSE to a hardware button its slower than the default Rotate Screen because of the rotating circle.
I think creating a shotcut on the Today screen launcher program is still a better choice and it can also relieves one of the hardware buttons for other use.
Thnx
Works as intended...
thats weird :? ...
does'nt WM2003SE has a <Rotate Screen> at "Assign a program:" list in Buttons section ?! :?:
in my i-mate JAM i can rotate the screen between 'Portrait' and 'Landscape(right-handed)' by pressing "Record" button
i wonder if xda2 wm2003se has it or not, coz mine gone junk while i'm upgrading to chines rom SE
later 8)
@NightmarE
Yes, it does have the hardware button assignment, the problem is that most of us have already used all the hardware buttons for other tasks, so a Start menu option is a nice solution...
I agree I have upgraded to the blue angel but having it in the start menu is much better than hardmapping it to a button, I posted the app for those who want a different option, if you want to waste a button on just rotation then be my guest but some of like myself don't use screen rotation that often then it is better in the start menu and not on a button that I need, considering I use alot of apps like Microsoft Voice Command.
It os better to have it in the Start Menu than in a Today Screen, if you are in the middle of a app it is easier to just open the Start Menu and rotate than go through settings->screen or close then today then back to the app...
I'm using SPB Pocket Plus and add "rotate screen to the right" to close/minimize dialog ... That's just how I do it. Free Up start menu slot for my other frequently used apps.
Right now I'm quite a happy XDA2 user
use PHM utility to add a shortcut of RotatSE in Task bar near by bluetooth icon it will be like i-mate Jam icon 8) ...
laters
I assinged one hardware button to flip the screenand made the flipting system easily and fast...
Works great on the Treo 700wx. Thanks!
Hi, is ROM version 1.66.00WWE a wm2003SE?
Just tried the software a while ago but it didn't work.
Is there a version of this working on wm2003? just found out that my phone is not wm2003SE version but a wm2003, software not compatible with wm2003. :c
Works ok, but...
Hi.
It works fine, but how I configure it to rotate to the other side (clockwise) ??
Thanks in advance,

Morphgear on HTC devices with Keyboards: FullScreen Landscape and Correct Key Mapping

It seems people trying MorphGear on their HTC devices with Keyboards (HTC Hermes,Tytn II,Touch Pro, Touch Pro II etc.) are having problem with configuring/running MorphGear in full screen landscape and having issues on gamepad mapping in their hardware keyboards.
I have found a way to run playable games in landscape mode full screen with correct keypad mapping without installing anything except MorphGear and it's modules. (even no registry tweaking or adding files)
Although I have a non-HTC device (Acer Tempo M900), I see no reason why my method will not work on HTC devices with keyboards because:
1. They're both Windows Mobile
2. And of course, they all have keyboards.
So it got to work
Though speed may vary due to different processors.
There will be no screen resolution issues too. Acer M900 is WVGA and it runs MorphGear well in full screen landscape. Morphgear was made when VGA and QVGA devices dominated Winmo world.
So if you have an HTC device with hardware QWERTY keyboard and have issues in running Morphgear landscape full screen and glitches with mapping controls, please try my guide and let me know is my method works with HTC devices too, so all of us may enjoy running Morphgear in full screen landscape and use our keyboards as decent gamepad controls. Give me feedbacks if it will work or not If this guide does not work with HTC Devices I'm sorry to waste anyone else's time, I just want to share, like everybody is doing.
How to Install Morphgear in M900 (and make it work in landscape hopefully with HTC devices with Keyboards too)
A. GDI Landscape (Full Screen)
1.Download Morphgear 2.4.0.9 in the official site http://www.spicypixel.com/web/page/morphgear/Home.aspx . Extract the files anywhere on your PC.
2.Connect device with ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Center, run the .exe files and install (to memory card). First install MorphGearSetupPPC2003. exe then others.
3.On the device, Run MorphGear (located in Games folder). Be sure the device is in PORTRAIT mode.
4. Click settings icon (3rd from the right) and select Global Settings.
set the following:
Driver: GDI
0rientation: North
uncheck- Disable full screen
uncheck- use virtual pad
Check- Enable Sound
CPU Throttle: High
5. Soft Reset Device
6. When the device resumes, slide the screen to set screen to Landscape and run Morphgear. After starting Morphgear, make sure that the settings icons and the MorphGear logo are in landscape too. If not, check Global Settings again to configure it correctly.
7. Now depending on what ROM you want to emulate, open settings and choose an emulator, for example, if you have a NES ROM, Open iNES then set Screen Size to Windows Size (for full screen landscape).
8. Scroll down and set Input. Double tap the controls (up,down, left, right etc.) and select keyboard keys(or even hardware keys) to map game controls. Then press ok.
9. You'll return to the main screen. Select the Folder/Open File icon (first icon) to locate your ROM (in this case the NES rom),select it and the game will automatically start. Double Tap screen to activate full screen. Enjoy the game.
10. If you want to play another console rom (like gba, snes, genesis etc.) just repeat steps 7 to 9. To close current game, choose Stop icon (hand) and choose exit game (choose exit MorphGear to exit the app).
It is interesting to note that TurboGrafx-16,NES,MasterGear,Gameboy GB and GBC run well in full screen landscape (based on my M900). SNES,Gameboy Advance and Genesis ROMs will still be playable also, but there is a little speed drop.
To get more fps and smoother speed, adjust video size (step 7) to Fit Windows or smaller. (don't add more frameskip (default is 3), it will just make the speed choppy). There is another option in emulator settings named Image smoothing, which is like anti-aliasing and smooths graphics but noticeably affects speed. (I recommend not using this setting)
Speed
It is interesting to note that using the RawFramebuffer as a Driver gives better speed than GDI,(based on my M900)which works effortlessly in Portrait. But making it work in Landscape mode full screen is a little bit tricky.
To use Rawframebuffer in landscape:
B. Rawframebuffer Landscape: (Full Screen)
1. Repeat step 3 (of the above GDI guide)
2. Do step 4 (above) but change set settings to:
Driver: RawFramebuffer
0rientation: East
uncheck- use virtual pad
Check- Enable Sound
CPU Throttle: High
3. Soft Reset Device
4. When device resumes, slide to reveal keyboard (this will automatically sets screen to landscape).BUT BEFORE running MorphGear, with/while keyboard slided out, change Orientation to Portrait.
5. Run MorphGear. Check if the settings icons are vertically situated in the LEFT side and the MorphGear logo horizontal (if this is the case you're in the right track).
6. Repeat step 7 (above)
7. Now the tricky part, in mapping controls remember that the directions are not what they seem. For example if your using keys W-A-S-Z as UP-LEFT-RIGHT-DOWN (IN GDI landscape mode), WHEN using Rawframebuffer, UP=LEFT,RIGHT=UP, LEFT=DOWN, DOWN=RIGHT.
Yup it's a little bit confusing, but it's the only way to get logical direction controls. If you want to use W-A-S-Z, just set it this way:
UP-A
LEFT-W
RIGHT-Z
DOWN-S
And click ok.
8. Locate and Choose ROM.Tap screen to set Full Screen. Enjoy Game. (Refer to Step 9 above)
9. If you want to play another console rom (like gba, snes, genesis etc.) just repeat steps 6 to 8 on this Rawframebuffer guide.
NOTE: One important thing to remember is NEVER activate the device's LANDSCAPE mode WHILE using the RawFramebuffer or you'll end up a jumbled display. If this happens, just totally exit Morphgear via exit button or via task manager, switch to portrait mode while the keyboard is slided out and run MorphGear.
To sum up things, if you want to have Playable Games in Full Screen Landscape.
1. For TurboGrafx-16,NES,MasterGear,Gameboy GB and GB ROMs,use GDI.
2. For SNES,Gameboy Advance and Genesis ROMs,use RawFrameBuffer(TurboGrafx-16,NES,MasterGear,Gameboy GB and GB ROMs works great in RawFramebuffer too, but as I said, it's a little bit tricky.)
To have more speed.
1. Adjust screen size to Fit Window or Smaller.
2. Disable Image Smoothing.
3. For even more speed, play Games in Portrait Mode ( just set Global Settings/Orientation= North, applicable for both GDI and RawFramebuffer.) But why bother portrait, games are still playable in landscape, and our device have a KEYBOARD remember? (reminds me of the upcoming PSP GO)
Enjoy!
AFAIK this guide works with HTC TYTN I,HTC TYTN II,SE Experia,Acer M900 and TP1,TP2
Note:
I read somewhere that there is a workaround for htc touch pro and pro (button key 229 solution from rhodium thread)
1.
- Go to button setting in Morph Gear.
- before click the assign button press and hold the ctrl key
- then you can enter the hardware key you want
now you can play by holding ctrl and the mapped keys
2-
- go to global menu in Morph Gear
- in the submenu Input: click Polling Method

Thanks for the tip. It worked like a charm. Now I can actually play games the proper way. By the way I have a htc tytn2 with windows 6.1.
Nice to hear my method worked on an HTC device
Anyone tried my method on other HTC models with keyboard?
mapping controls
Ooookay! Thanx for the superb step-by-step on how to setup MorphGear. I have the TMO TP2 w/stock ROM. I've had this app installed since Sep.15, 3 days after the release and I havent been able to figure out how to configure the console settings. So, I finally have the game up and running but when I got to assign my action buttons (particularly A, B, Select & Start), they all set as "229", whatever that means. What do think the fix to that could be. I'd appreciate any advise. I'm lost!
Hay,
I have the same problem, when I try to set the keys its "229"..
Maybe it is because I have the new manila 2.5.1919..?
Did you find away to have it set?
no change
nope... nothins changed. i still cant use my other keys. same results.
it seems there is really an issue with touch pro/2 keys...

hey,
I just found your other post in the Rhodium-thread and wanted to add this here, but you already did ;o)
But one should add that you mean the ctrl-key, it confused someone.
Thanks a lot for this advise, it worked with my rhodium!
This works

I used to have that problem on my hermes until I used the cab from this post. It seems to be connected with the T9 function.
Now that I have a Touch Pro running a wm6.5 rom I am unable to exit from the settings menu, any ideas? it may be something to do with the thinner taskbar.
Interesting. Thanks
THIS IS FOR HTC TOUCH PRO / PRO2
I HAVE A HTC TOUCH PRO2 AND ALL MY KEYS WORK JUST FINE AFTER I SET THEM
1.
- Go to button setting in Morph Gear.
- before click the assign button DOUBLE PRESS FN KEY FOR 2ND FUNCTION THIS WILL LOCK ON YOUR 2ND FUNCTIONS COMMAND AND ALLOW YOU TO CHOOSE ALL YOUR KEYS AND PLAY YOUR GAMES JUST FINE WHEN YOUR DONE PLAYING SIMPLY HIT FN BUTTON AGAIN TO TURN OFF 2ND FUNCTION AND USE YOUR PHONE NORMALLY- then you can enter the hardware key you want
now you can play by holding ctrl and the mapped keys
Now the tricky part, in mapping controls remember that the directions are not what they seem. For example if your using keys W-A-S-Z as UP-LEFT-RIGHT-DOWN (IN GDI landscape mode), WHEN using Rawframebuffer, UP=LEFT,RIGHT=UP, LEFT=DOWN, DOWN=RIGHT.

i cant get sound on my m900, whats wrong? thx
does this work on 6.5.1... i have a TMO touch pro 2 .. i am not able to set the driver to GDI.. even if i select it , it wont change.. also i cant close morphgear both the start buttons and ok buttons stop working ... guess it will work only in 6.1 or 6.5
They took GDI out of wm 6.5, there is a fix floating around that either unlocks it or puts it back in.
Look for it.
Also how to I take the screen out of lanscape mode with a Sprint TP2, there does not seem to be a way to change it back once the keyborad is slid up.
why don't work on my i780??

This is because of the t9 there is a disable t9 cab which works only you have to reset your phone and it disables your onscreen t9 i Found a great app for disabling t9 this is great for using the keyboard for morphgear without disabling your t9 on your onscreen keyboard. Its called kais T9 its only 3 bucks and it is very useful without having to install a cab on and off without resetting your device. Here check it out: http://www.pocketgear.com/en_US/html/display_product.jsp?id=prod7228134 only 3 bucks and is very helpful

It looks like what happens is that Morphgear is not compatible with the new WM6.5 task bar. Basically, if you click where the OK button used to be in WM6.1 (top right hand corner) it should exit the menus with no problem. In my case, i prefer to use a taks manager software (i.e., pBar) where I can close the menu from. You can also try pushing the OK button in your Phone, however, this doesn't work after a game is already being played.
Now, has any of you guys achieve a decent speed using a Kaiser?

[Q] Swype Trouble on MeanBean

I am using the latest Swype Beta on MeanBean and it works great but i am having trouble with it on landscape mode. When i start in vertical mode and rotate to landscape the keyoard fits with the menu shortcut (the 3 dot link) but if i respond to a textfirst in lanscape the 3 dot menu shortcut is covering most of the P key part of the L key and half of the enter key. Its like the keyboard goes full screen and the menu shortcut is covering the right portion of the keyboard. Since I am new to XDA and not most other forums I can not yet post with the Mean Bean thread so can someone help me understand the issue or relay it to Mikey and see if it is possible to get this small tweek fixed?
Thanks!!

[REQ] Help needed to fix SecContacts.apk and SamsungCamera.apk

Hi all great developers!
I have a small request from your expertise as I've tried everything I could but still could not achieve the desired results.
Since I've enabled software (screen) keys following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032117
There is a virtual navbar at the bottom of my Note 2 (N7100), just like what Galaxy Nexus has and it works awesome because given the big screen of Note 2 it only takes up lesser than an inch on the screen but provides the convenience of not having to press the hardware home button frequently.
However there is a side effect after enabling it, where the Contacts now showing an additional Menu Bar and the stock Camera shutter button being half-covered by the virtual navbar. Please refer the screenshot below to get a better picture:
Contacts (SecContacts.apk)
--Kindly refer to the attached screenshot--
Camera (SamsungCamera.apk)
--Unable to take screenshot of the Camera--
Anyone with soft (screen) keys enabled can provide one?
Please download both mentioned APK's from dropbox links below. They are extracted from stock XXDMB2 deodexed.
SecContacts.apk:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17026409/SecContacts.zip
SamsungCamera.apk:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/17026409/SamsungCamera.zip
Appreciate your great help to resolve the DPI (I guess?) issue with these two stock apps after virtual navbar is enabled.
Donation will be offered as a token of appreciation :highfive:
For Contacts (SecContacts.apk) I think the menu bar can be hidden by tricking the system that the device "HAS" the menu key (theoretically is by setting qemu.hw.mainkeys=1), however this will hide the Navigation bar aka soft keys.
My problem now is having to *keep* the navigation bar (ie. qemu.hw.mainkeys=0) but to hide the overflow menu bar.

My problem now is having to *keep* the navigation bar (ie. qemu.hw.mainkeys=0) but to hide the overflow menu bar.

If only I knew how to fix the Samsung Camera with NavBar turned On, I would never go away from the Stock ROM. Any tips(technical too) on how to achieve this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Seems nobody doing this for Stock ROM, I believe this issue is non-exist in CM or AOSP ROM.
So we're pretty much on our own now

xt1528 App Drawer and Vibration setting ?

As you see in the attached pix , I got 2 xt1528, but with diff app drawer layout . One got a search box on top and scoll up/down layout , the other got the typical left/right scroll . What is your default layout though ?
Where is the setting to switch between them ? I did not do anything, they have same build, etc.
PS: Also , one does not vibrate on navigational keys , while the other does
I believe the vertical scroll layout is the result of an update. I started off with the horizontal layout, and after updating everything ended up with the vertical.

Well, both got updated though. I just found out one does not vibrate when you press on the navigational keys ( back/home ). What about yours ?
Vertical scrolling is a part of Google Experience Launcher. If your phone shipped with 5.1 (like mine) it will vertical scroll. If you updated it will not vertical scroll. Vibrate on soft button touch is in settings > sound > other sounds
