Love the phone. Have rooted it but nothing else really. My dialer screen is extremely laggy when it comes to entering numbers manually to dial...anyone else having this issue?
and does anyone else's phone ring for few seconds before the answer screen shows up? My phone rings with a black screen then the slide to answer screen pops up
anyone? anyone?
i did but i got a different launcher and use titanium backup to freeze motoblur so it was non existent~
try using the app SetCpu to increase your phones response and kill lag.
or just try re-rooting it.
just tried adw launcher and dialer screen is still super laggy....what is going on with my phone?

I think it is an issue with Android 2.2 because I had the same problem on my N1 w/ CM6, the Inspire 4G, and now the Atrix.
I didnt have a laggy dialer on my captivate

Well, it was only a problem right after opening it up. After the first couple button presses it ran fine.
Are you rooted with oneclick? I think I read that it can cause some lag issues. DG has released aroot which can clean up the root, try that.

turns out it was my phone itself, took it to ATT they replaced it, re rooted when i got home and everything working perfectly.
Why does the phone lag to the point of barely working?
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
Well, for starters tell us what your running.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Must be on stock 2.1.....
I haven't had lag at all in a very long time. Do yourself a favour and try one of the froyo roms...
I also will lag a lot sometimes, a lot that even the launcher will restart whenever i go back to home from an application. So I check the free memory it's less than 30mb even though I used autokiller memory optimizer setting (60,70,80). Thus I check the apps run, nothing wrong with it. I reboot and run those apps again, and I still left ~90mb ram and it back to normal (fast).
P.S I am using 2.2
Weird, I seriously cannot think of the last time I had any lag at all....
The only time I get any is when the phone first boots up for like a couple seconds before the sd card reads, then it is fast as hell.
What rom are you using? Could it maybe be an app you have?
I'm on the stock 2.1 with Rogers.
even killing all tasks doesn't help when it's lagging bad.

Oh god, stock 2.1 sucks. Do you at least have jit enabled?
try to change to 2.2.1 ROM, I use CM 6.1.3 and it's awesome!!!
it will lag when the gallery tries to cache all the photos in your memory card. You can't do anything about it(well i don't know what can you do to remove the lag).

No I don't have JIT enabled.
It's not even when I'm loading any photos. Even if I'm in handcent_SMS the thing slows down to a halt. Very annoying.

For some reason my Atrix (running ICS CM7 PreFinal) has random screen on's.
For example, I can be using it, switch the screen off in the normal method, then as soon as I lay it horizontally on the desk it switches back on.
Anyone had this before? Or know how to fix it? I assume it is because of the proximity sensor getting confused?
Have you tried using a another ROM to make it isn't a hardware issue?
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
I am having the same issue on CM7 12112011 Nightly. I have random display wake ups and in addition I often have the screen turn immediately back on after turning it off.
I hate to say it but it sounds like a hardware issue. To double make sure it is, try a blur ROM. That's what the phone is used to running.
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
Maybe is some app that activate the screen when you change from vertical to horizontal check your configs and apps, also try another ROM without any app to see if it happens, i think another ROM may fix that.. idk, but i hope it helps ^^

Are you by any chance using Juice Defender?? I think that may be the cause of my issues (posted above). I have been using the same settings in Juice Defender with numerous ROMS, even previous CM7 nightly's and stable CM7 without encountering this before. I disabled the time out feature in Juice Defender and the problem seems to be fixed.

This is exactly the issue I have. I'm not convinced its hardware as the original blur rom didn't do this.

And to update, no I am not using Juice Defender. It is a defacto CM7 ICS build.
Hi.
I just installed StockLite V6 on my galaxy ace. Do i have to do anything else to improve battery or the OS will do it for me?
Stock lites batt is quite good.. But if you want more you can use juice defender or somthing like that..

If you want more battery,
Disable all animations, keep brightness at its minimum level, disable auto-sync, disable haptic feedback, disable 'touch sounds' etc.
I am making StockLite v7 now. It'll have even more battery and it'll be faster than v6.

I've already done that except for the auto-sync xD. I calibrated the battert yesterday and i'm waiting for it to discharge. My stock rom at the beginning consumed more battery and then a little lower so i supposed must be something similar with custom roms.
And it's not hot.

I disabled 3G, haptic and sound, the brightness is on automatic.
Other than that I didn't touch anything and the battery is very good, the ROM runs very smoothly.
Don't have any problem with that 'hot bug' either.
StockLite is awesome
And apparently tj will post a ICS theme in the near future so that's pretty cool.

Just WOW Keep up the good work, man.
EDIT : I just have a question. Since I've installed StockLite there's a steering wheel icon appearing in the status bar.
Apparently that's the car dock icon, but it appears randomly. So my question is, how do I get rid of that ? Since I can't send email or sms when it's on, it's kinda annoying.
battery
my battery also get hot very hot when using 3g and sometimes when i wake up in morning its super hot. without using it.

Am I the only one that is sometimes seeing major lag when an app closes and the launcher redraws? In by case it is sometimes over a second.
Well known issue that has been mentioned already in numerous threads. I use SS launcher so don't have that problem.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
the stock launcher will not lag on its own, check for background cpu utilization with os monitor app and disable those apps .

If you read carefully enough, Dr. Paul, you'll find that you are on ALF2!
Is LF2 only through Kies? I got the OTA update to LF1, and that's all the OTA updater says is available. Or it's just VodaGroan being rubbish as usual.

Been looking in the forum and found this issue under another heading. I fixed it by rooting and changing the davlik VM heap size from 256 to 128mb. How did Samsung manage to screw this up?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Another thing to consider is whether you've got power saving on or off? If it's on and CPU power saving is turned on, the CPU runs at 800mhz rather than 1400mhz. This will show a noticeable difference in smoothness.

i just wanna share how i got rid of the lag and home respawn issue on my sgs3... i'm not saying it is a fix but these are the only things i did that work for me... there is no harm in trying...
1. disable double tap home button to activate s voice.
2. disable s voice using application manager
3. reboot... and after 3 days, no lag or whatsoever... but there was always the home respawn thing when i'm running a lot of apps on background...
4. uninstall facebook app... this app seems to eat most of the memory... reboot... now, i don't need to close any program running thru task manager... i check it and see 12 apps running but never had a respawn.. all is well now... i don't even think of rooting flashing a rom now... everything just seems to be running so well...
**i know some of you would say that it's not an option to uninstall FB app, i for myself would love to use it but i'd rather have a lag and respawn free sgs3 and use the FB desktop mode... but then again...that's just me...
