Figured I try out using my phone on my rides since I use it in some way in nearly every other aspect of my life. I took one of several car mounts and zip tied that SOB to my bike and poof had an instant bike mount. I started using cardio trainer, which is frickin awesome, but curious if anyone else uses a program that might be better or atleast worth a shot?

Try SportyPal
Endomondo is the best one out there. IMO
I used to have one for Track bikes that calculated gear ratios for fixed sprockets, can't remember the name.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.
Will try those out, wish I had checked this thread earlier, I just got back from a ride and flopped my ass down on the couch.

Tries looking this up but nothing. My phone has been pretty good since I picked up a new one Friday. Today its extremly humid in Georgia, to the point u step outside and instantly sweat...my lock screen has frozen up twice in the last 2 hours, can this be from the high humidity? I have to do a battery pull to reboot it and its fine.

Sound like your cpu is overheating. Humidity shouldn't really be a factor.
Also, you could try deleting /data/dalvik-cache and rebooting.
U could be right...its about 100 degrees out. The "feels like" temp says 105... Had the phone in my pocket and it did feel pretty warm to the touch.

Ya anything wet like wet hands sweaty hands will make your screen lock up at times not bad just wipe it off hit the power button again and your good to go not a big deal just don't drop it in the can while pinchin a loaf or your **** outta luck...
What I have noticed with my phone is if I get sweat on it, like if I hold it up to my sweaty face during a call, I can't interact with the touch screen until I clean the sweat off of it.
Take this with a grain of salt though... My current 3d is getting replaced due to other "issues".

When you said "lock up", did you mean it was completely unresponsive and frozen, or was it just the touchscreen that wasn't working (and it would still display animations, change the clock etc)?
Because if it's just the touchscreen, then the other fellas here are right - liquids on the touchscreen kind of disable it until you wipe.
Yeah, it's sweat. All my touchscreen devices completely freak out, do random things or mostly just become completely unresponsive whenever I'm at the gym and I go to change the song or something...it's definitely sweat. wipe it off and don't worry.
I am in Houston, we have high humidity as well, temps in high 90's and fells like in the low 100's. A lot of my work is done outside and my phone stays in my front pocket of my shirt, sweaty, hot, humid. No issues as of yet, but I am now worried about it, thanks j/k
High humidity and screen protectors have always been bad combinations for me.

I'm also in Georgia. Haven't had this happen to me, although today truly did suck. Just gotta get that out there.

http://lifehacker.com/5747897/how-to-build-a-car-mount-for-your-cellphone-from-office-supplies
I'm going to make it this weekend. I'll take pics and let you all know the results.
I have a 1994 Chevy Lumina (It just won't die), and it has a lip that goes over the front dash where the controls are for the heat. I can't stand window mounts, and any other mount I tried, I didn't like.
I tried searching for a car mount that clips or would clip onto something like the front of my dash, and I couldn't find anything. Google brought me to that project, and I am going to try it this weekend.
Anyone else try it? Do you like it? I am pretty stoked to do this, as I am a DIY kind of person.
I'll post back the results after I do it this weekend.
I don't think this will be nearly large enough to hold a Note, not by a long shot. It is an interesting KISS design though. I'm working on a "How To" for making a car dock out of Kydex. It will be far more work then the rubberband/paperclip one pictures, but will be more along the lines of a ProClip in design, but due to having everything in the mail, I wont be starting on the actual build until this weekend at the soonest, and thats if my Kydex sheets come in really fast.
Yes it works one of our interns made one for his Evolution.

There's quite a size difference between the evo and the note. But then again I may be wrong (wife claims it happens occasionally) .

I think you live in here om4, ha
Well out of work, out of a car, right now I need something to occupy my time. Engine I ordered from lkq was bad and the person I ordered from isn't returning my calls so I'm now slowly rebuilding the engine that burned up and doing side jobs to help pay the bills. If I had nothing to do I think I'd go stir crazy
That sucks, if you were near Denver I would help rebuild it. I love wrenchin. My wife and daughter are out of town so I'm always here too.
It's all good, father is a mechanic, owns his own place, only one lift though so it took awhile before I could rack up the car and pull the engine. It's going slowly but at least its going
That's sweet, ha, we totally hijacked the thread. Good luck with the engine.
I have tried to test the alarm that sounds when you walk away from the s pen and it is not attached to the phone. But I have to walk really far away and even then it takes a long time to sound. Is there some sort of setting I am missing to speed this up? The way it works now makes it a pretty useless feature as the pen could be long gone before my phone alerted me.
I think it senses it by walking so if you hold it in your hands and walk away that might be the issue. Did you try it in your pocket? When I tested it I got an alarm as soon as I stood up.

No, I literally left it on my desk and walked away. Hmmm....
Just tried it again and it took about 10 feet.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
tried it yesterday and walked about 50 feet away and nothing happened. I will need to try it again today.
im not sure what actually triggers it. i jogged down my street about 100 yards and nothing. on the (winded) walk back it went off about 10 yards before i got back to my place.
Glad to hear it is not just me. I was getting worried about the case I had it in which had a magnetic closure. I had no idea that that could be a problem until I found a perfectly round s pen dead spot right where the magnet was. I did some quick research learned that magnetic cases are bad and took it out of the case right away. The dead spot works just fine now but I was beginning to wonder if I had created some other residual damage.

The pen alert does not work off of distance. It works off of the screen being turned off and the shaking like Its in your pocket. You can walk with your pen in one hand and phone in the other with screen off and shake and it will go off

Anyone who tests this should totaaaally video it for insane laughter afterwards (I tested it and it works).
Wow
A huge big thanks to Android_Fr3ak. I was wondering what it was that triggered the alarm. Now we all know.
Hahaha my wife just looked at me like i am retarded as I set the spen down and proceeded to shake the hell of the phone but it did work.

Not a problem. I edited the post because I saw auto correct put own instead of pen. It is fixed now.
Well... I love my phone. I don't know what to say, I mean, I just do! I've been thinking about it and it's like.. why are we so specpical and specific? That's why we loose the technological battle.. we are too specific and detailed. I mean sure there is a microscopic fraction of a pixel that is dark on dead center of my screen and there is a slight gap on the top between the speaker grill and the white rim, but so? We bonded tonight. Don't discriminate again this amazing phone because of such small things that might be strange or slightly f'ed up, because overall, it's the most advanced and speedy pocket cellular device available in the universe.

yes, i agree with that, love is a word, there's no reason can explain:laugh:
You know what made me REALLY love this phone? This morning when I wanted to turn the TV on to watch the news and the remotes were all the way on my computer desk. I picked up my phone and turn the TV on and got my news fix.
This phone is awesome! :good:
I love your phone too.. Can I have it?!? I could always use a spare. lol
I wish I had a chance to check out the remote control features but I don't ever watch TV on a real TV anymore in real-time. I always watch shows on 1channel or tvmuse. I use an app called unified remote to control pretty much everything on my computer. Spotify, Youtube, Netflix even use it as a mouse and keyboard if your laptop isn't on your lap but close by

That was how I've used my previous devices...man was I excited to see the reintroduction of IR though. With 4 kids, remotes are misplaced (or hidden) on an hourly basis, so it's nice to have complete control in my pocket TBH I loved my phone before I even met it... it sleeps closer to me than my wife now
I wish I could love mine.. First phone had a gap I could fit my thumb nail in.. replacement has 8 stuck white pixels, some brighter then others so I'm sure it's like 30 stuck pixels. Thinking about an s4 now

Luckily, you don't need to watch much TV to enjoy the remote control. Just visit a local watering hole or restaurant and enjoy the sheer comedy of watching their employees figure out why the TV's keep turning on and off. :highfive:

I was always convinced there was a remote troll that used to come and hide your remotes on you so you couldn't find them when you stepped away
It's too awesome to turn on the TV and flip through channels while one of my teachers is giving a lecture.. makes everyone laugh so hard and the teacher gets scared. Haha good times.
