I'm using the custom energy rom installed on my htc hd2 and I use the palringo software that comes with it. Every-time I have the software minimized and sometimes sends me an icon, I get the text message notification icon on top of the screen.
Is there a way to turn this off? Thanks for your help!

When I use the program Palringo, I always get a message notification icon on the top screen when I get a message. How do you turn this off? It gets pretty annoying.
I am using the latest stock rom from T-Mobile. Thank you!
so i'm a hancent fan... i like the lockscreen pop up messages for new incoming text messages. i usually reply from them as well.
when doing that on the inc4g i've noticed the notification led continues to blink at me like i have an unread message. i'm assuming i can turn off the led notification completely in handcent (i do not want to do that)... or wait for the handcent devs to fix this?
I use handcent as well. I do not have that issue. Did you turn off all notifications in the stock app? Uncheck them before unchecking notifications

Sent Incredible 4g Viper beta 1.
I don't think it's a Handcent issue. I use GoSMS and I'm seeing the same issue, although it seems to be sporadic.
All notifications from the stock messaging app are turned off.

I've notified it doing it sometimes with Chomp too. Pulling the notification bar down turns off the LED for me.
yes, opening the notification bar clears it - which defeats the time savings of replying from the popup on the lock screen
i also have turned off the stock notifications.
thanks - at least it's nice to see i'm not the only one with this issue...
speaking of notification bar - on my old inc i always hit the menu button, then notification instead of dragging the bar down from the top of the screen. does anyone know of a way to make a shortcut or something on the inc4g? only way i can find to open the notification bar is to actually drag it from the top of the screen.... is there any other way?
It's included in Viper Rom, but you'll need root to change that.
Hi, I'm on AOKP-Neo 1.5 Linaro! [AOSP 4.0.4] my first real run with an AOSP rom, usually sense. Here is what happens, I recieve a text, it flashes across the top and then disapears from the bar. Same thing with Gmail. In sense roms if I get a text the message flashes across the top, like this, but then a message icon stayed in the top left corner. Now when I turn on my phone I have to look for led or pull down the notifications. Trying to clarify if this is native to ICS or if I can adjust a setting to keep the small icon in the corner until openning.
Not a big deal, just the way I liked it. I understand I can change my ringtone louder and the frequency of the led, just hoping to keep something in that top left corner. Heart will be warmed by answer.
Can't say that I've ever had that issue. Did you change any status bar options in ROM Control that might have affected it?
Notification Icon Transparency! Haha, i thought that was for the bar itself. Thanks for getting me there!
So its hit or miss... on stock messaging app I turned off that preview option so it doesn't show the text in the status bar or lock screen. But how do I stop the lock screen from turning on when a text comes in. Like I said I feel like its hit or miss or maybe I'm just nuts but sometimes I feel like it does and sometimes it doesn't.
If you are rooted, you can use Xposed to show that option: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293956 (under applications, "Show screen on toggle"), then you can go to the messaging app and turn it off.
One of the apps I enjoy using is Timers4Me. I had it with my old phone (ICS) and now have it on my new phone (Lollipop). Under Lollipop, there is an annoying behavior that I have been unable to resolve.
With notifications for this app enabled: When I set an alarm, a message pops up showing how long until the alarm expires (good), an icon appears in the taskbar (good), a notification appears on the lock screen (okay), and the LED blinks blue (very bad).
With notifications for this app disabled: When I set an alarm, no message pops up showing how long until the alarm expires (bad), no icon appears in the taskbar (bad), no notification appears on the lock screen (okay), and the LED stays off (good).
Is there a way to disable the LED from blinking (just for this app, not all!) with notification enabled for the app? My phone is running build B0E1, stock kernel, rooted.
Thank you.
