HELP for font and themes - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi. I'm new in android and I have some difficult. My last phone was a symbian, and it was all so simple, here in android I can't find the way to do 2 simple thing.
1-Change font. I haven't understand how to do. I have also tried a program "type fresh" but I haven't understand ho to use
2-Change theme. With my symbian I download themes in sis/sisx format (like the apk for android) and I install them without risk. Then I choose what to use. Here I can't find theme to install, I've found some guides with many steps and files (but for x10 and not x10mini pro) that I haven't understand, and I've read about cell brick.
I'm going crazy. HELP!!!!!

The themes you find here are generally for Sense/Manila so do not appear in the themes list in Settings>Appearance (these are just the WinMo themes so ignore them). Once you've copied a theme cab to your storage card you then need to run the cab (which is actually an install file) and make sure you install it to your device, not the storage card. Once you have run the install you will need to do a soft reset to allow the changes to take effect. Once you restart the theme should now be loaded! If you find you don't like it just go to Settings>Applications>Remove Programs and you should be able to uninstall there. Soft reset and you'll be back to where you started. It is also adviseable to do a full backup before you install any new theme just in case it is not compatible with your version of WinMo or Manila, which can cause problems.
Have fun!
Hi, I tried as you wrote, but it doesn't work. I tried the "W7 theme", and it turned out all my icons are turning white and nothing changed.

The information writhe by "Dunc001" are 100% useful and correct.
First of all when you have problems by installing a cab/theme; mostly the problems are: wrong installation, not following the instructions, problems from some combination whit some manila/OS versions, ...
Fore receiving a optimal solution/answer to your problem it's better to communicate your/the problem on the specific Thread of the Theme/cab/program.
Reason way!? The developer/creator have the most experience/knowledge of his stuff, ore other users on that thread who know the solution/answer to your problem will be able to fix ore gives you a answer more quickly to it.
Also maybe a other user have had the same problem like you, and you see/reed immediately the answer to it. Ore future users with the same question will find the solution.
"Don't see this as a personal attack; I only tray to explain/help you out fore a more easier use of the XDA Thread's"
sorry brothers
did not work The same thing icant see the theme after setup
any help
thanks
Don't know, if you use my Win 7-Theme. If so, the wa, to install was described before. But there is also anothwr theme online, for tbis you need Wisbar Advance Desktop. Witbout this, you can't run the theme. It's really important to know, how to install a cab and to read the instructions in the thread. Most time the error is sitting a little away from the device.
any help brother

How to add keyboard? Market fix necessary?

Hi all,
Two newbie questions:
1. I'm new to Android and am loving Calkulin+Clemsyn 1.5ghz Froyo Combo V6, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use a keyboard other than the ones that come with the ROM. (Specifically, I want to use a Freedom Pro bluetooth keyboard.) I found:
"To use keyboards on this you need to either replace the TnT settings.apk with a standard one and then select the keyboard or move the keyboard's <keyboard app in question>.apk file form user/app to /system/app with a root capable file manager or on a pc with adb. This is standard on all TnT derivative ROMs."
at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1024120&page=34#,
but the first solution (replacing the settings apk) isn't working for me and I can't for the life of me find user/app or /system/app. Can somebody please explain how specifically to navigate to those folders? I've spent a lot of time trying to figure it out, but...well, newbie.
2. My other question is about the market. The developer thread where I got the ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1024120) says to "do the market fix procedure to enjoy all apps" after installing the ROM. But the market on my gtab looks functional when the ROM is installed. Is there something I should do to improve it (part three here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245 ? something else?), or is the instruction to do the market fix procedure outdated?
Thanks!
1. http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummie...2-04-replace-soft-keyboard-in-tnt-based-roms-
2. No.
Perfect, thanks!
Many thanks. I used your gtab for dummies site to get my gtab set up and install various ROM's, and it was fantastic. Even though I read everything through, I guess I'd forgotten that you addressed the keyboard issue in "How-To" (though I had gone back and checked "Common Issues" and "FAQ").
In case anybody else is having trouble getting their Freedom Pro bluetooth keyboard to work (I kept getting "paired but not connected"), the current user guide, which can be found at the Freedom Input website, lays out the procedure. (Sorry, I tried to post a link but I'm not allowed to do so yet.)
If you're using a TnT-based ROM, you'll need to follow the instructions to which goodintentions linked in the post above after you follow the instructions from Freedom Input.
I'm not much help on the Android forums yet, but if anybody needs instructions for how to load Pole Position on your Commodore 64, I'm your man.

[Q] ZTE v9 Light (Base TAB) newbie

Hey Folks,as u read: I am totally new to android.
But here are some facts about me I'll tell you just to say sorry for dumbp questions right at the beginning.
I have a good base of Linux knowlege and i also always was modding my phones. If it was my Motorola Razr v3i or my Rhodium Windows 6.5.
Most important: I REALLY dont want others to make MY work. Dont missunderstand me: Some People just dont have the ability to make that on their own and i think, they needed to be helped too, but not me. I want to learn it and i CAN learn it.
But sorry if I post a question in the wrong Forum or ask questions wich have been answerted pretty often. My Problem ist not to read or speak english: It is to imagine the words I need to use for google and stuff to find my answeres. So, some hints, tips or links to Howtos or stuff woud help me alot.
Burt here the bunde of my most important questions:
It all started with Adobe Flash. I guess my Pad has a arm6 or 7 CPU... it has 600mhz and i found a version for that here on xda- i installed it and its working so far for the adobe flv player and swf files but not as an plugin 4 the reguar browser or dolphin hd. any suggestions?
I also wanted to download teamspeak 3. it seems, there i have the same problem. it tells me, my device is incomatible at the market. So is there a way to get it anywhere else and my to recompile it and patch it to work?
next: i tried to root my device using androot and also z4root. it goes through the process without errors and everything seems to be fine but sshdroid tells me, root is disabled. the access to some locations of the phone still is denied and so i cant install nandroid for backups and before i will go on, i REALLY shoud install an backup solution, right folks?
Well- for the first, thats it. if i know that i guess, the rest is more easy to find out on myself as it is right noe.
Again: You dont need to make my work. sorry and thanks at once && greetings from ?good? ol' germany. Alex
well- one thing i also coud need some help... i was searching arround how 2 set my phone for data2ext4 ... but if i wont get running my phone rooted, i can forget about that, cant I? my card already hav an 4GB ext4 partition beside a 12GB FAT partition

Hello
[INTRO](a little background)
This is a guide for those who want to have their phone in their language but the operating system does not have it built in. You can flash a new ROM that has it or install an app right? Not so much. There are reasons for these methods to fail or simply not work for your situation. My problem was that the bootlegged hardware was not supported by the official ROMs or the Android community. This forum is also riddled with threds that started by people who need to mod something about their phone but have no technical knowhow. There wouldn't be annything wrong with that exept that the awnsers in these threds are something along the lines "Oh you just need to do this thingnemabob" that's it one sentence pointing to a technical slang word that means nothing to anyone but a seasoned developer despite first post DIRECTLY STATES IT WAS MADE BY A PERSON ASKING FOR A STEP BY STEP SOLUTION OR A LINK TO A TUTORIAL!
[pre-procedure]
List of necessary software:
Zipsigner (this goes on your phone)
ADB
text editor of choice( notepad++ recommended)
AIO-Flasher
smali/backsmali (depeding on wether your system files are odexed more on that later)
APKstudio
[installing above software]
Zipsigner
Why you need it?
As you modify your apk files their signature changes. Basically if you change anything about them the phone will no longer recognise these as "its" therfor you need to convince your phone that these are in fact okay with zipsigner.
how to install?
This is an app. If you ever installed anything from Google playstore before than you know how to install it. Go to your Google play store app on your phone. Search for Zipsigner and pick the top app. Agree to all the demands and tap on install
ADB
why you need it?
this is a command line piece of software. these might be very scary to use but don't worry follow the tutorial and you'll be okay. That aside what is it used for. ADB is a powerful tool but we will use it only to copy and paste files to and from Phone
how to install it?
ADB comes packed up with Android Development Kit so the easiest way to install it is to get the ADK
[STEP 1]
Okay so you want to translate your phone for one reason or another. Make backup! Backups are important. You want to have something when you fail to fall back on. Yes "When" you fail. Not "if" you fail. You will screw up but as long as you have a proper backup everything is okay.
You can back up your phone in few different ways.
Hello
[INTRO] (skip if you are not interrested in fluff)
For the past week I lived in Android Hell looking for what I thought would be a simple procedure and I wanted to share my expieriences somewhere so that no one else has to go through this flustrating expierience.
I got two phones (Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 mini)and I was taked with translating them. Well It should not be a problem I thought because it should be as easy as going into [settings]>>[region and langages] and choosing Polish. There is no Polish. So that was my first step towards the translating thiese.
[STEP 1]
First thing first backup. I am by no means a talented programmer or modder so I went with Samsung Kies but software didn't recognise neither phone. After fiddling with drivers and a back-and-forth with samsung costumer support we came to conclusion that phones are fake. IMEI of one identifies it as a Blackberry and other as Nokia >_< well okay they still have some sort of Android so there should be a way to translate them anyway. First thing on the agenda is still backup. So I went through a triall and error to get both roms dumped. I was successful with ANDROID AIO FLASHER which was a godsend after I failed time and again to push romdump's INSTALL into the phone. I managed to get one ROM off by now but other Phone still insists on denying me ability to dump the rom because of Segmentation error. but at least I have one rom backed up.
[STEP 2]
Okay I got myself ROM now what? I decided to make a transfusion. Why bother with getting down and dirty when you can just use the work of others. So I downloaded a ROM with same version of the Android OS and begun looking for language pack or something similar. No luck this is not how Android works. After some research I came to the conclusion that in order to make things work I need to basically decompile each and every APK file that refers to system functionality and translate Strings.xml by hand in order to ensure compatibility.
[PRESENT DAY]
this is where I am now. all I wonder if there is a way to add a new file in the APKs with polish in it or should I just translate English "strings.xml" file and set langage to english?
Feel free to point out faults in my logic as well as provide tips and tricks for those of us who bought our phones on the cheap and just want to usethem with language they are comfortable with. I will build up this topic with factual information that I come across and try to make this into a universal guide to Android translation with resources to download. I do this because no one should be subjected to this and there is no decent step by step guide on this forum just disjointed and incompleate information in posths here and there. Belive me I looked both here and Google and after two weeks of finding nothing more than a hints I want to just give back to the community all I found.
