Thanks a bunch!!

Found another way to delete bookmarks. I downloaded skyfire (which is my new favorite browser especially with Flash 10.1) and you can delete bookmarks there, which when done there, deletes them from stock browser also.

[Q] Gmail.apk attachments

guys need a quick feed back, i've installed the stock gmail.apk onto my device, but i can't find out how i can save the .zip attachments that someone have sent to me ... i've tried several times w/o no luck, i've also tried download all files but seems that isnt working ... any tip?
IIRC, you can't download attachments with gmail. Try something else, like K9 or K10!
Install the app download all files or similar. Many in the market. Or use the gmail mobile website...

Any luck yet ?
I have tried searching on Internet but seems there isn't really a solution yet. A lot of people recommend Download All Files, Blackmoon etc... but the real issue here is that from Gmail 2.3.5 onwards, there is NOT even a Preview button for the .zip attachment so non of those apps will work.
I would appreciate if there is any other working methods besides a third party email client.
Thanks.
Bert

[Q]: Removing Verizon Bookmarks from Browser (SOLVED)

Is there a way to remove the Verizon bookmarks in the browser?
EDIT: Solved by installing Bookmark Sort & Backup in the Android Market (free): https://market.android.com/details?id=com.happydroid.bookmarks. Thanks to kkryter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20292787&postcount=5

No. That doesn't work for me. There are a few bookmark added by Verizon that you can't delete that way:
Google
VZW Home
My Verizon

I used a market program called 'BookmarkSB' for this issue. I've used it for other things as well, such as it's primary purposes of sorting and backup. Hope this helps!

Because if you're ever NOT SURE what the Verizon website is, there's a handy bookmark they force on you!

The one in the market is version 2.x which is not designed for Honeycomb, unless I'm missing something here?
If its messed up on a fresh ROM install, you should let the dev know so he can work it out.

Removing apks

I used root explorer to remove Twitter and friend steam and facebook from system-app but yet they are still in the app drawer and I can sign in as if I've done nothing. If anyone can help I want those things completely removed.

There are 2 twitter apks and 3 friendstream apks that need to be deleted. But again using rom cleaner it wipes those out for me
But default rom cleaner script doesnt remove apps like facebook or twitter or google movies and stuff.
are you referring to use a edited user txt file to remove em .
isnt there any update txt file somewhere which i can use
I flash ROM's all the time and it's a pain to open the zip and remove apps you don't want. Or sometimes you do an update to an existing ROM and just forget.
Here's an app I've been using for a couple of years, very simple and lightweight, will even backup the app before removing. I posted it in the apps section, but here's a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939056&highlight=stock+app+removal

Deleting Verizon bookmarks

Has anyone found a working method to remove the Verizon bookmarks on the stock Rom? I used Bookmarks Manager on my Rezound, but it's not compatible with the DNA. Thanks!

Agreed, that is annoying!

Anyone find a solution yet?
If someone wants to test this... it "should" remove the stock bookmarks. It MAY reset you Sense setup so you might need to restore it after. I can't test this because I delete those bookmarks from my ROM. That said PROCEED WITH CAUTION until someone test it. Who wants to be the Guinea pig? Should work fine.
EDIT:
Tested and it DID NOT reset Sense. Checked my bookmarks and I only had google dot com. That is the one I left behind. It looks like it worked like it should.
EDIT 2:
Since this did appear to work I removed it. You would probably need to add that in before flashing the ROM.

I couldn't remember but it maybe that that file is only read when the ROM was flashed.
I've tried editing the database that holds the bookmarks, that didn't work either. I've also tried a few bookmark managers, they haven't worked either. I can't believe that there's no way to get rid of these damn things! !

well I don't use the stock browser so I'm not able to see exactly what you mean. I figured it would be as simple as hitting menu go to bookmarks then long press and choose delete.
Chrome is so much bester, faster and cleaner lol

I disagree, I like the stock browser better. My Nexus 7 came with Chrome on it and the first thing I did was load the stock browser. The bookmarks are read-only and can't be deleted in the manner you specified.
You need a writeable kernel to permanently delete them, or s-off.
Thanks for the reply, but that isn't correct. I am both S-OFF and have a writable kernel (elkay 0.95) and the bookmarks still cannot be deleted. They are somehow protected from deletion. I'm ready to offer a bounty to anyone that can get rid of these things!!
The only way I have found to get rid of them is by disabling the stock browser and grabbing a different browser from the store. I know this probably isn't what your looking for but this is the only method I have found to get rid of them.
