URGENT bricked mini by trying to replace framework - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Just tried to replace framework-res on my phone and now its stuck in a boot loop at the two sony ericsson logos. I have the original framework file. anyway to get it back on or do a full restore in SEUS?

seus only

Unfortunately via seus only.
I got the same yesterday and had to restore all my data and apps. Fortunately I have a weekly backup running just in case...
Framework-res needs to be handled with care cause moving it restarts the phone without even getting the new file in place! E.g.
say framework-res.apk.new is the new framework and framework-res.apk the one residing in /system/framework/.
I've learned to replace it like so:
cd /system/framework
mv framework-res.apk framework-res.apk.bak && mv framework-res.apk.new framework-res.apk

what is benefit of replacing framework?

Use Flashtool and choose not to wipe userdata, this way you will keep contact details, txt messages, apps etc...

Bin4ry says to wipe userdata - otherwise phone will get stuckup in bootloop. Your opinion differs - may be under some condition! What is that ?

You only need to wipe the userdata if you are going from 1.6 to 2.1 or vice versa.

Sony Ericsson's backup and restore is lame. Use some other backup software from the market like titanium backup.
P.S : Super wrong section... Blasphemy! lol.
What do I do bout this after startup

keep gettin uknown error in the app. but does anyone have any idea on what do?? and should the mod version be the same as the build?
Its hard to help you when no one knows what rom you flashed... additionally you seem mighty confused on what exactly you're doing. A good idea is to clearly understand what you are doing before you do it. I do not mean to belittle you in anyway in case you feel that way, but in general its a good idea to do so.From what I can tell it seems you mucked up the permissions of your system folders using astro...
If you're willing to start fresh, do the following.
1)Backup your contacts using the vcf file (you can make it from the dialer menu) (if you can)
2)I would suggest flashing back to the appropriate stock rom found in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Choose the appropriate rom of 2.1.A.0.435 based on your hardware version x10a or x10i.
Make sure you have checked wipedata.
I hope I understood what you were trying to communicate.
EDIT: Next time post in the thread of the rom you flashed.
dude, you have posted 9 times in less than 1 hour. give people a chance to reply - a lot of the devs round the place are sleeping right now! keep on monitoring the other thread, no need to start 2 - just be patient. i would imagine you will need to reflash your phone from scratch and start again.
to restore data from SE Backup, you need to flash an original rom. this app ONLY works on SE roms. NOT custom roms.
Good luck dude!
it happened before i flashed the rom.. ive read every post in every thread i came across.. sdcard is now the system and every folder / file is now root.. no more shell..guess i cracked the bootloader on my phone mountin / as r.w with remount from the market and they installed java in the system folder
you think sdcards permanently in mnt now? before i had two sdcards folders
[EDIT] Im now a x10i with google passion build props and my build id is cm6.1.3 gingerbread v01
relax
just a suggestion, have you considered using the SEUS utility to restore the firmware?
If it was me, I would back up anything that needs backing up. Reflash with SE Update Service - C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Ericsson\Update Service
Fastboot flash a rom of your choice. There is the stock available or a variety of alternatives. Is not something that can't be handled, no need to panic!
it worked with the last rom i user.. forgot which one but think it was the cm6.1.3 v4.5

SEUS does not care about the result once it interrogates the software. It expects there to be something messed, hence why you are forcing a system restore.. just start the update service, select x10, pull the battery for 30 secs, hold back while putting the battery in and have the cable connected, it's going to ask you to confirm then reload the last firmware that it has from previous updates - should be 2.1update1 - 435 or whatever...
/dev/block/vold/179:1 (r/w) = /sdcard

use binary's flash tool to flash an original ROM back to your phone, then maybe even do a SEUS over the top (not really required, but good for a test)
im just gonna leave it cause theyre no more folders with "shell" dev/vold is root now too..blocks root libs root bins root everything besides my sdcard..everythin was shell before
One thread is enough, and please dont post questions in the development forum.

Take a look

Does anyone have an idea as to how I can add the apks to the roms I flash without using a computer. As source I used void forever without flashing the addons at first. I extracted the zip with root explorer, deleted what I didn't want. In this case, stock contacts/phone/dialer than repackaged the extracted file and attempted to flash the modified zip but I got a FC. maybe perhaps when I deleted I should of added go contacts.apk. here is what I deleted.
1.contacts.apk
2.contacts storage
What I wanted to replace:
1. Go contacts
A very insiteful person, daxelectro or ciaox told me I would need a computer and resign the modified zip but I'm **** storm up a creek without adb installed and a computer.
I've also attempted at freezing contacts and contacts storage but it misfired on me.
In a perfect world. I'd love to have void forever with poweramp,go contacts,go SMS pro, dolphin browser and go keyboard as stock. Someone think they can point me in the right direction
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
You should not edit the signed zips.
well if you want only go stuff on your cell phone.
Just re-install the rom (The one provided by the dev himself) ,install titanium backup and give it root rights and now you can uninstall whatever you want.
Go contacts will work fine without stock contacts.[Tested]
But the keyboard wont work without stock you have to keep the stock android keyboard with you and choose go keyboard as default.[Tested]
You must also know This Procedure Is Irreversible
You cannot install the apps you deleted again.
Lets be on the safe side so
MAKE A NAND FIRST THEN PROCEED
Good luck bud.!!!

[Q] What actually android wipedata/reset means ?

I am really confused with this. What actually android wipedata/reset means ?. Is there any problem if i select wipe data factory reset...? if i select this option, is there any chance of losing my internal memory datas like messages, contacts, etc ?

The wipe data and factory reset option will wipe the /data partition which includes application data, any apps you've downloaded, pictures, music, messages, and contacts that are not stored on your sd-card. In addition to wiping the /data partition it also wipes the /cache partition which mostly contains your apps temporary files, and other system related temporary files. Your contacts can be backed up to your Google account, messages can be backed up with SMS Backup +, and for your other data I would recommend taking a look at My Backup it doesn't require root, if you are rooted Titanium Backup is a very handy tool for backing up your device.

Just to clarify do you mean it's gets stuck on the Cyanogenmod Bootanimation or the Setup Wizard welcome screen when you first setup the phone after wiping it or installing a new ROM? Do you have adb debugging enabled (Under Developer Options in System Settings)? Because if you do then you can use that to pull files from your device. Otherwise what you try doing is booting into recovery and trying ADB through recovery to see if you can access it that way, another suggestion would be in recovery mode to do a NANDROID backup of your current setup and then transfer the backup to your computer, extract the userdata.img from the NANDROID backup, and then use Linux to view the content of the userdata.img file (This would be a decent place to start). Otherwise I'm afraid you may be out of luck.

Xperia U all apps stop working

Hey,
Everything was working fine until I decided to install an emulator app of Gameboy for android so I ended up installing an app called Gameboid but it didn't work properly so I uninstalled it at installed MyBoy!. It was working properly until my battery went dead and the phone turned off then I plugged the charger and after the phone turned on every app kept crashing avast anti-virus, Gmail, Talk, I can't even open Phone app and in Messaging when I want to send a message or reply or delete a message it crashes, I think I have to do a factory reset but I don't wanna lose my text messages and the only way for me is to use the Backup&Restore app on Android, I can't connect to internet to download any other app and when I connect the phone to PC it won't show the folders, my question is will the backups created by the Backup&Restore app remain after I do a factory reset? And the other question is after I create a backup and then want to restore it the name of backup is the date and time and then it's written (0.1M) if this is the size of backup obviously it's not a successful backup do you have any idea what that 0.1M is? I'm completely confused I've never been so much in trouble with Android I think it's some kind of virus or something, any help from you guys is so much appreciated, the phone is Xperia U with ICS I need to have a backup of those text messages and I need to do a factory reset please give me a way thanks in advance.

Try to root and delete/format dalvik cache and cache.
If CWM support adb it will be possible to delete this app too.

If it is unlocked you can flash custom kernel that has CWM and try wiping cache and dalvik-cache and possibly copy messages db if you know where it si located.

You said you have flashed 6.1.1.B.1.54, without wipind data I assime.
Maybe this kernel, looks like it support adb: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934093&highlight=cwm
As far as I could find sms are stored in: /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
If wiping dalvik and cache wont work you can try copy all files in that directory to sd card.
mount data in recovery.
open adb shell in windows: adb shell
make sure sdcard is mounted: ls /sdcard (see that you get list of files/directories in your sd card)
creake directory for backup: mkdir /sdcard//sms_backup
copy db files to sdcard: cp -R /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases /sdcard/sms_backup/

I'm no expert either.
No memory_tweak is not a must.
Weird it shouldn't need /system mounted, I jave Sola's CWM Touch 5.5.0.4 on my Xperia P and shell wprks without a problem, it uses one from /sbin which is busybox actually.
but you can try mounting /system maybe it'll work then.
Instead mount / data in CWM recovery and then: adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases databases
that will copy the databases to <current directory>\databases on your pc.

The databases must be put back when the application is not sorking and also need to have parmission owner and gtoup set correctly.
I think pushing them back with cwm adb is the best way, but you will need shell too to change permissions and owner.
You can try with file manager that support root.
owner and group of all files is radio:radio permissions for db file 660(owner and group rw) and journal files 600 (owner rw)
And reboot the phone right after.

You need to either reflash the system, or find TWRP flashable zip of your current OS, extract it and copy the items you deleted. Or you can try editing build.prop and change "ro.setupwizard.mode" value to "DISABLED". It might work after reboot

do u have ur stock rom?
if yes..
Then..
1)extract your rom with any archiver software.
ex-winrar,zarchiver
for pc - winzip etc
(pro version recommended)
There's an app called setup wizard.
(it depends on your rom.
On samsung stock its samsung setup wizard, on cm its cyanogenmod setup wiz)
U will see something like that on your
rom/system/app or priv-app/here
copy that one to ur phone's root/system/app or priv-app
exactly where its located on ur stock rom.
(u need a root explorer software to put that in ur system)
Easiest way is find ur stock rom and flash it.
If u r new to this things, get help from somebody who knows.
