Searching for X8 FW and FlashTool - XPERIA X10 Android Development

Hi,
as the title said.
I´m searching for a FW for the X8 which is working with Bin4ry's Flash-Tool.
Greetings
UserX10

If you have an X8 update it through SEUS and then use the tool here by Bin4ry to decrypt the firmware

Update over SEUS not possible, that´s why I need a FW for the FlashTool

No 1 n idea?

Well as this is an x10 forum, the vast majority of people here will have x10's and wouldn't have used an x8.
I hope someone here can help you but it seems unlikely.

Here you go, files uploaded to :
X8-1.68.zip
This is unbranded latest .68 international version (Android 1.6) ..

@pulpoff
Thank you very much.
But can you tell me how I have to rename the files that they can be flashed?
system_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin -> system.sin (177MB)
amss_fs_robyn_BC18_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin -> amss.sin (19 MB)
userdata_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin -> userdata.sin (13 MB)
kernel_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin -> ? (5 MB)
fota0_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin > ? (450 kb)
fota1_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin -> ? (450 kb)
amss_fs_robyn_BC18_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin -> ? (400 kb)
cache_S1-SW-LIVE-3EDC-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin -> ? (1 kb)
Thanks.

kernel.sin -> (5 MB)
fota0.sin > (450 kb)
fota1.sin -> (450 kb)
amss_fs.sin -> (400 kb)
cache.sin -> (1 kb)

In all the other (X10)-Firmware there is no kernel.sin, so is this correct?
EDIT:
Tried it, but it doesn´t work. After some commands the Flash stops.

paste output.

It stops because you need the loader.sin from x8. This is the smallest file_xxxxxxx ans has to be decrypted. Stay to the decrypting tutorial here in the forums to get it

There is a loader.sin in the package...
So I used it...

Short answer.
You cannot flash all devphones. Many devphones (or testphones) have locked bootloader too, this phones can not be runned with retail firmware.
Regards

Hm. Could be possible, but until this unit all my phones could be flashed (if they are ok or death after flashing is an other part, but flashing worked everytime).
Can someone test the uploaded flash-files with a retail X8?

This is true. Are you really sure that the loader.sin is correct? Maybe you can try another one. Try getting the SEUSFiles from X8 and decrypt it yourself!
This is the best method avoiding errors. I have no X8 so i cannot try. But as it has same Protocol like X10, E10 & U20 it shoukd work out of the box with flashtool & correct files!

Bin4ry

Thanks for your help Bin4ry.
No, I´m not sure. I only assume that the loader.sin in the package is the correct one.
I have some doubt with the files. In all the other flash firmware is no kernel.sin, so that´s why I was asking how to rename them.
And a 13 MB userdata.sin seems also very strange to me...
Can anyone provide the SEUS files or check if the loader.sin is correct?

Please try this files and tell me your results

Try Lef.Teris Files.
With kernel.sin all is correct! No need to worry!
So try his files and give us some feedback!

OK, with the new files flashing worked, but phone is dead

Installing firmware 2.1 says ok, but phone still says 1.6 in about page.

Hi,
I downloaded the latest flash tool for xperia x10 and the 2.1 generic global firmware.
I follow the instructions to restart my phone in flash mode and the flash tool automaticallty detects and flashes it.
But after the phone restarts it looks the same and the about page still claims the firmware 1.6.
I used to own a G1 and with 2.1 cyanogen installed so i know it's supposed to look different.

Am I missing something? should I install an generic 1.6 first?
Edit for additional Info:
Tried the firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
Then tried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825675
using the flash tool here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827065
instead of the one incluided on the packaged above because they all gave me errors with java.
Post a link to what you used.
updated with more info.
Just run it again.

I've ran it many times now. I know the phone is supposed to last about 5-6 seconds on flash mode and then boots normally but it still does it while flashing.
Shouldn't the phone stay in flash mode until the entire process is over?

It should stay in flashmode until you unplug it. Not sure what your issue is. Try removing the battery for at least 10 seconds and try again.

Generic 2.0.2.A.0.24 firmware [rooted + xrecovery preinstalled]

Just an addition for New Year's Day.
Since the last firmware, is not yet been rooted, i followed zdzihu's method and made a rooted firmware with xrecovery already installed.
I haven't tested this one (as i only own an X10 mini) but it should work.
It is based on 1238-3147 Generic from Phillipines.
In order to install this firmware, you need to install xrecovery first.
Also if you have already flashed with 2.0.2.A.0.24 through SEUS, please downgrade!
Requirements:
DOWNLOAD>>X10 mini flasher
DOWNLOAD>>mini pro.tar.bz2
You will also need an X10 mini pro rooted with xrecovery installed
Instructions:
1. Download and unpack mini pro.tar.bz2. It contains 2 files: update.zip and 2.0.2.A.0.24FlasherFiles folder
2. Copy update.zip to SD Card
3. Copy 2.0.2.A.0.24FlasherFiles folder inside the flasher's folder.
4. Boot into xRecovery and install update.zip
5. After finish flashing update.zip, pull the battery off the phone for 20 seconds and then put it back (in order to turn-off phone without rebooting it).
5. Open flasher and press "Flash" tab
6. Choose "2.0.2.A.0.24FlasherFiles" and flasher will show "Searching for Xperia..."
7. Keep the "back button pressed, while plug the phone on usb, until you see the green led on.
Make sure you understand the installation process before you try!
All credits go to:
zdzihu, for xrecovery and for all this actually, as i followed his method.
Bin4ry for the flasher, saved my @ss from many many bricks.
aZuZu for his SIN2IMG tool. Works great!
donetus for contributing by providing the blob_fs files.

You will have to reflash previous software with Bin4ry's flashtool
or could we do the normal reflash through SE's PC Companion?
JiT already installed??..

I haven't tried it and therefore i don't know. But you can try reflashing with SEUS (if something goes wrong) and if it doesn't reflash then try Bin4ry's tool.

No worries at all. System sin and dsp1.sin are meant to be missing.
Unplug and turn on!
Cheers mate, Works fine
I've noticed a bit of an improvement, will reply with a quadrant score aswell, and again with JIT when i enable it
Busybox 1.15.3 is the version installed according to Titanium Backup if anyone's interested.
Now i'm just restoring all my apps
Not entirely sure what the Application Installer app is though...?
Thanks again mate
Many thanks for that! Just a question before i try.. does this firmware contain czech localization, too?
Just noticed that xrecovery is not working .. ill guess i should do it manually

hot damn finally!
I'm currently on 368 rooted with doomlord kernel... what do i have to do to get to cm7.1? just flash this with flashtool and then install cm7 with usual instructions?!
or can i just use wotanserver for this then go straight to cm7?
I was bootloader unlocked and .368 installed with DoOmLord Kernel !
I saw the 2.3.4 FW on this thread via wotan and I decided to flash my sk17i with the Generic Trade United Kingdom (2.3.4) version ! Done !
I needed root ! So I tried with success to flash my sk17i with the DoOmlord Kernel !
FINE !!! My 2.3.4. is now rooted !
I'm so happy !
Many thanks to DoOmLord !!!! ... ansd wotan !

first you need to flash boot.img with fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216783 then you root with superoneclick and then you unzip the 2.3.4 firmware and flash kernel.sin with fastboot
Why do root with flashing a kernel? Its possible to root with an exploid since yesterday.
To topic: i hope wotan will release a generic germany too.
Doing as we speak via WotanClient, and it's WORKING! 2.3.4<3
Edit: I'm not rooted, or do i have an custom kernel. Still working via WotanClient, Nordic 2!
electrostatic noise
someone can check electrostatic noise in new firmware 2.3.4?
Does it disappeared?

so sad now, my fone can not power on so i need to flah it back again to 2.3.4...anyway still thank for your time but WOtan server seem to be hard...too long my connection is slow

please, I need to restore Ta(trim area) Mt15i

My bootloader, trim area were damaged. A friend from America helped me rewriting, etc.Now I can flash, fastboot (features that didnt work no more), but the problem is that the network is disconecting every 2-3 minutes; its frustrating, I cant even sent a message , have to wait until it's reconecting... Please, if somebody from Europe coul send me a seetool backup of the TA Thank you in advance!
Well I have similar problems in past with so called “Trim Area Damaged”.
After search I found out : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14774499&postcount=1
Unzip de package (FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick). You will have Flashtool inside. Clik X10FlashTool.exe and select Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.
Be aware that I am not responsible if you damage your phone with this procedure.
Good luck
Thanks! but I dont think thatt will work! I need those TA files tooked from another good european Mt15i phone, preferably backuped with setool in flash mode...
