I'm pretty sure there's a thread here somewhere, but I've tried searching but can't find it.
My problem is that the green notification bubble on my HD2 that overlays the SMS icon says I have 3 unread texts...but I don't. it's clearly a glitch and I wondered if there is a way to reset it to zero?
Cheers

well if it happens again and you'd like to fix it, without installing a cab it can be done via the registry. change all the following values to "0".
HKCU/system/state/messages/MMS/unread
HKCU/system/state/messages/SMS/unread
HKCU/system/state/messages/TotalEmail/unread
HKCU/system/state/messages/VMail/total/unread
or use these..
Unread count
Thanks for the cabs - they're good to have 'in stock' for next time!

Hello
I have upgrade my HD2 from 1.66 to 3.14 - stock european rom (danish). No extra's except Cookies hometab.
I have searched, and searched and found answers, but sadly they do not work here.
Issue: SMS Notification: SMS Sent successfully (translated)
I do not want it. And i cannot seem to turn it off.
I have looked into SMS -> Settings .... and there is no mark in the SMS Delivery Report (again my translation). Tried some registry changes found using google, and still the I get the notification.
So the question is: how to turn it off ? Is it possible ?
tia
mvh / best regards
I had the same issue, and I could disable it.
When you're in the settings tab, use the Menu soft key and click the Plus menu item (it should be the only one), to access the Windows Mobile (i.e. not Sense's) control panel.
From there, you should be able to navigate to (roughly translated, I use the French ROM) sounds and notifications(sounds and alerts ?), then navigate to the second tab. There is a drop down list where you can select the "SMS sent" notification, and then, uncheck all the boxes to stop notifications.
When this is done, just press OK at the top left corner of the screen to save the changes, and return to the manila (sense) UI.
I hope this solves your problem.

Hi and thank you.
I tried it, but no effect.
It is not a big issue - just a small annoying one
so I can live with it.

Guys from HTC will probably never make SMS working perfectly on HD2. Fixing one thing, break another. These annoying notifications happen because of a missing registry entry. Just add it manually:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging]
"DisableSMSSuccess"=dword:00000001
Worked for me.

And for me as well. Thank you.
Perhaps something for Tips & Tricks ?
If you don´t want to mess with the registry there is a cab file that does it for you.
http://www.4shared.com/file/9eCnZJR4/SMS_zend_popup_uitschakelen.html
It´s in dutch but it works with any language.
I installed the cab to disable the "message sent" notification, but since then the sms conversation mode has stopped working. When I receive a message I can see it on the messages screen but when I tap it the screen opens with the top half of the screen blank, where the sender's message should be displayed. The bottom half of the screen shows the reply section with "Tap to add text".
Uninstalled the cab and soft reset but cannot get back the conversation mode. I seem to remember someone posting about a similiar issue with an earlier rom, but despite searching I can't find it.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
Edit: deleted all my messages and now conversation mode seems to be working again
Fix worked
This has really been bugging me since upgrading too..reg fix suggested works a treat with no ill side effects, thanks!
i created the registry key and it worked.
Thanks a lot!

sorry to ask you again
can you write me what do i add?
i dont want to use the cab
i added as you said the dword value but it didnt work.maybe the DisableSMSSucess should be DisableSMSSuccess?
change ur rom...
i added the string manually and all ok
In some cases you need to set following value, too:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMSG"=dword:00000001
Hi. Its a common problem. I called HTC Support and they said that is an error in this ROM upgrade. They still dont know if an upgrade will come to fix the proglem. It probably will. I had the same problem so I "Downgraded" the ROM to 1.66
Regards
Stefan

ok that was 1
but all ok now!
I recently started having this problem where I keep getting 2 notifications for texts after using 2.1
I use handscent sms and turned off all notifications from the default messaging app but they both still notify me of a new text. Its annoying itll vibrate twice, ringer twice. plus I cant even get the default sms thing in the notification bar to go away unless I manually clear it. Never had this problem for the months I had this phone before the update.
Anyone come across this or know how to fix it?
(oh and I tried a search but the xda search engine is down, it's down like 50% of the time I try to use it, so please no harsh remarks about a repeat post if this is one)

Google always works.
google brought me right to this post. so at least the next guy with this problem will be able to fix it if anyone has an answer....? I cant be the first one with this stupid double notification.
seemingly, after disabling notifications, removing the messages shortcut from the homescreen does the trick, although i havn't tried this myself.
you wont loose the messaging its still in your APPS list.
just tried it and it does work

I had the problem for the longest time. I eventually found out that it was the SMS widget in Beautiful Widgets that was causing the problem, even though you hadn't activated it. Uninstall Beautiful Widgets and see if it works.

yep it was the beautiful widgets sms thing thanks a lot man. I didnt have to uninstall it I just went in to the options and turned it off.
Simply open messaging and select setting by pressing menu key...
Disable notifications...!!!
Worked for me. ;-)
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i had the same problem a while back too. and by disabling the notifications it still didn't work. what i ended up doing was clearing the SMS center number under network settings and retyping it in manually. worked like a charm

Hi, I am not sure how else to describe them, there those little grey notifications that apps sometimes splash across the bottom section of the screen. There use seems to be controlled by apps as dont' remember anything phone direct coming up most common one is the one I see about apps getting root access..
My question is simply is there a way to globally turn these off as I dont really like them or care about what they tell me, running miniCM7 2.1.9..

no way to disable atm
but you mean you won't care if the phone says something important like formating sd by error or anything ?
when the phone talks, it's better to read ;-)

notifs do not splash really, and do not disappear after a certain time, they would be stocked one after the other
this way notifies, and disappears
i don't remember how it is for ICS
in fact i understand your feeling
[email protected]
Anyone know how to get rid of it from showing?
Ive spent hours trying to figure it out, so annnnoyed
Supposedly it's part of the "ease of use" in ICS, as people apparently were too stupid to long-press the text box before. I'm hoping for a fix for it too though, since it's pretty pointless (could be moved back into the long-press menu hopefully).

Damn stupid people gotta ruin it for us.... Thx for the info.
I got no keyboard icon left.
But dont remember which of these deleted it.
1. ICS system ui? Click here
2. Delete talkback and all those?
Quick search of XDA and im not he only one with this problem.
Any chance of a fix or instructions i can try? Im on LP9 VK ROm.
Technically it's not a problem... just an esthetic you don't like.
Suppose someone will come up with a removal (if it isn't available yet), but I haven't noticed one yet.
Might have to do with keyboard you're using though. Have you tried another to see if it still shows?
Mine only shows when actually using the keyboard to type, otherwise not there.
Agreed. Just a visual annoyance, popping up everytime i type.
Installed Swype via the beta installer and that triggered it.
I think Wanam can help you !
Try to send him a message
that icon is in the systemUI I think, what is not, if you can remove ...
Hey there!
I use AOKP build 25 on my SGS and it worked perfectly before three days ago a new entry in my notification bar showed up and I can't get rid of it (see attached screenshot).
It's German, so in the upper line it says something like "Delete", and below "Text selection". When I click it, the system's memory usage is being opened but it's not going away.
Yesterday I noticed, that my Gmail doesn't sync even all settings are correct and haven't changed ever.
Has anybody info bout that or experienced similar behaviour? Can you tell me what the hell that thingy is?
Thank you!
Tom
