I assume it's the browser from the Bugless Beast rom (multitouch/pinch to zoom?). Not sure why the description has to be a secret though...
This is one of the things that tends to annoy me about these forums, and why until now I've only used this (admittedly fantastic) resource for downloads. Why do people have to be so resistant to honest, legitimate questions?
For this example: I'm someone who came from the original Droid, so I too am assuming "Pete"+"Bugless" means this is a browser kanged (which can mean taken with or more notably without permission) from the Bugless Beast rom. But I too can't understand why, if that's the case, you couldn't just say that when someone asked.
So I ask: is there an advantage to the latest Bugless' browser over the stock Fascinate browser, since we have a non-gray-bar, non-Bing, and multitouch capable fixed Mesmerize browser .apk available? Or, to play the pessimist, was this taken without permission, or something that isn't supposed to be shared, and is that why we shouldn't "worry about what it is?"
I suppose we can only guess, since we're apparently not worthy to know :\
I pushed the APK to my fascinate to see what's different about this...
From what I can tell, its just a merge of the Mesmerize/fascinate Browser files...
-Grey bar, vzw default homepage, vzw/bing url bar redirects...
Was it intended to be more like this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831519
I'm noticing a (relatively) MUCH larger file size...
So there maybe more to it I do not know.
The usefulness of this browser is limited. I switched to it from yours, Flipsoul, because of the issue it addresses.
In certain cases (on stock theme), the address bar comes in dark grey, where you can barely see the URL.
Hint: it only affects DJ05 folks.

This browsers good if the grey bar really bothers you with the clean browser in DJ05. Bing is a bummer, but there will be a solution soon I'm sure.

I think all freely available apps should be left out. They can all be installed afterwords... Even swype to be honest.
Downloading atm i'll letcha know anything i can think of though...
I think if you have the ability to you should try and port over Amon-RAs recovery from the hero g1... It has a Console in the recovery kernel...
I'm going to try and figure that out but it'll be a long time before I get anywhere. Haha.
that's not really related to THIS rom persay but I think would be awesome cause then we can manipulate /system/app while in recovery rather than requiring adb...
The rom itself... i'll get to you after i play with it :x
Wifi tethering included doesn'twork I had to replace it with this one to get it going...
Any idead if we can get some froyo apps working on this? I would like to have the froyo gmail and google talk app on it.
Using it and liking it very much, excellent job. I don't, suppose it has live wallpapers?
any luck on wire(less) tethering?

I second that! Id much rather use amonRA if it were possible just cus its setup correctly for the way our a2sd works. It still uses /system/sd/, where clockwork is setup to use /sd-ext/. Ill gladly help test it out!

Well there is a lot of bloatware.
Peeps, stocks, mymodes, friend stream, so many more I can't remember.
I've also noticed some of my videos in my gallery don't show a preview. It is a white image and it looks like it may be currupt but it still plays.
I did downgrade from a froyo rom so that may be a problem. I did everything I normally do to install a rom...

Hmm, perhaps. Any reason other than because? They aren't stored on /data so they don't take up application space.
Alright I realize that 3.0 is made for tablets so I am not asking for a port or anything, but I was wondering if anyone has made a theme resembling it or if there is a rom that looks like it? I was checking out some videos of honeycomb and it looks really cool. And before posting this I did use the search feature and I didnt find anything..and I was a little confused by some thread titles lol
If you are running CyanogenMod Rom then you can use the honeycomb theme.
Well thres also simply galaxy 3.0 which is gingerbread witg a honeycomb thene... its a bit unstable but utherwise its pretty damn amazing

No prob. Just go to the market and search for the FREE "Honeycomb ADW Theme" by GFX Android. Out of all the themes that cost money, this one is ABSOLUTELY FREE and definitely the best. Wait till you see the mother load of icons it comes with along with the search bar you are asking for. And, you can always get as creative as you want with a little patience and Root Explorer, lol!

Some of the things I like most about the ICS leaked builds:
The fact that the ICS browser allows a real full screen view, hiding the status bar. This is in Settings>Lab now, but I hope they don't remove it!
The data usage measuring option.
The new task manager.
The idea of syncing bookmarks with Chrome, which I've not used yet.

I've flashed around a bit with different roms and as much as I enjoy touchwiz, I love the stock mms app that comes in AOKP/ vanilla android ICS and was just wondering if anyone had made any type of universal port for touchwiz roms that work just as smoothly? Thank you phalanx, I hadn't realized serendipity incorporated aosp apps into touchwiz. That does further spark my curiosity as to if It's possible to pull the AOSP mms app as a stand alone apk that I could keep and install no matter what ROM I switch to since serendipity makes it seem possible if I just disable the stock mms app.

Simple way would be to change your pngs in your drawable-hdpi folder and change some xmls as well, not really all that difficult once you get started
Edit: sorry, completely forgot that Samsung's has text bubbles, so it would get a little trickier, I'll look into it
Edit: So, I've been real busy with school and stuff, so I haven't been able to look at the apk. Also, I don't have a Samsung Mms.apk since I like the AOSP feel of ICS better and have been on AOKP since it came out. So in trying to find a Samsung Mms.apk in our dev threads, I found that Serendipity 9 has an AOSP Mms.apk in it and is TW-based. It also has a lot of other AOSP apks in it, and it looks nice and runs pretty well. (flashed it to see everything first-hand). That might be an answer

Hi, I just upgraded to ICS and I noticed that many of the new changes in ICS are not available or look different on GalaxyS2. Is this because of Touchwiz?
I also tried swiping along to get to the "widget" area, to no avail.
Also, I tried pinning a calender widget to one of my home screens, but it doesn't have the updated Google widget. It just has the Agenda widget. It has the "contacts" widget that looks like the updated ICS google version, but no cal.
What's up with this?
I'm new to Android so my apologies if these are no brainer questions.
Thanks!
Are you sure it actually updated? Go into Settings/About Phone and under "Android Version" what does it say? If it doesn't say 4.x.x then it didn't actually do the upgrade. Otherwise...IDK. lol

Lol...well i could say Google touchwiz, but not sure you would. The reason its different is because Samsung puts their own launcher on their phone that customized the look and feel of the phone and creates their vision of what your phone should look like. In short most around here agrees it sucks. If you want a more traditional look either download a new launcher like nova or start learning how to instal custom rooms.
Everyone get ready for a flood of these kinds of threads. Now we get to play clean up as the masses that for some ungodly reason updated via kies instead of downloading a cwm zip. Or waiting. Or not upgrading at all. I wouldn't care except now there's gonna be 50 bajillon new threads. Sigh.
