The rooted with Superuser...
after that, I have to be in debugging mode to connect to computer and everytime I connect to different computer, it keep asking me to install the driver.
Before root, it did not ask any driver, it was working with mass storage like USB thumb drive.
I try to unroot but it is not working I don't know why..
And I try to use Restore Backups through ROM Manager v2.5.0.4 but not working....
I am so frustrated with this root..... I just want to unroot and I really want to use 2.2froyo ....
adb shell
su
rm -r /system/app/Superuser.apk
rm -r /system/xbin/busybox
rm -r /system/bin/su
And I also try that, but it says, rm failed for /system/app/Superuser.apk, Read-only file system
all three same error message.
Could anyone please help me to unroot my phone or.... anyway to use my mass storage without installing the driver?
It is using the adb interface
The second issue is that /system is mounted read only have to remount read write

i searched and cant seem to find anything on my problem....i connect via mass storage mode , it detects the phone, but for some reason it doesnt let me access the files on the card....in other words ,i cant open them...any help ????
try opening the sd card with root access.
Open the terminal and type:
Code:
sudo nautilus /media/
Then just select one of your sd cards.
If this works to access them then you need to change the permissions to allow ubuntu to access them with read and write without root.
I am using it just fine on Ubuntu 10.4
I connect my phone and it is mounted automagically, and I can move the files from/to the phone.
Do you have se_linux installed?
It also works just fine for me. It may have to do with permissions on the folders when mounted. From a cli you may try running this command with the phone not connected:
sudo chown -R user:user /media
Just replace "user" with your username.
Then connect the phone and see what happens.
thanks, I'll give this a try, let you guys know tomorrow...
Gotta say it works on Ubuntu better then does on Windows XP. You may have some permissions fudged somewhere. Do as the guys above said and let us know.

In the phone's USB settings what do you have it set to?
Run
tail -f /var/log/messages
while connecting your phone, and when connected
ls -ltra /media
Post here and we will take a closer look

Had a previously rooted X2 that was upgraded to 2.3.4 OTA and lost root privileges.
I downloaded zdooder's adaptation of psouza4's Do-All One Click script for rooting at rootzwiki.com /topic/3216-rootunroot-droid-3-root-instructions-one-click-added-for-windows-linux-osx/page__p__74595#entry74595
Here is how I did it (your results may be catastrophic, so try this at your own risk):
1. Download the script from the link above and extract to a folder
2. Set USB Debugging on in your phone, attached my phone to the Linux box via the USB cable, and set the USB connection to PC Mode
3. Started a terminal and go to the folder where the script files are located:
./run_to_root_your_droid3.sh
4. The phone rebooted three times -- unlocked the phone after each reboot
Since I had previously been rooted, I needed to delete previous versions of Superuser:
5. Still in the command prompt --
./adb.linux
6. Entered the following commands:
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/system /system
rm /system/bin/su
rm /system/xbin/su
exit
7. Ran the script again:
./run_to_root_your_droid3.sh
8. The phone rebooted three times -- unlocked the phone after each reboot
VICTORY!

i used that method and the phone stays rooted after reboots.
Was this a problem in the past or something? I thought I saw another thread somewhere saying something about rooting in Linux also. The first time I ever rooted my phone was on Linux and I had no problems.
Ok first things first : If you installed some launcher and your touch screen is not responding and you dont have USB debugging enabled then the only way to fix that is to install the original firmware, dload from here : http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...huawei-ideos-s7-slim-official-firmware-4.html check post 35 for the one i used
If you do have debugging enabled the download Superoneclick from below.
The super one click can aslo root the S7 slim and it has adb installed. Unxip it somewhere and go into the \adb folder. Open command prompt from there and run
Adb devices
If it doesnt show your device the either the debugging is not enabled or the right driver is not loaded. (Menu, Settings, Applications, Development, USB Debugging (Yes))
type adb shell
cd\data\app
rm *launcher*.apk
exit
adb reboot
This will remove the launchers thats faulty and touch screen will work again.
If you guys find a clockworkmod that works then leme know here cause i loaded the wrong one and its messed up.
Use psneuter to root and use the adb in the zip for the above
Cia
How to flash Recovery
Reserved for now
Use other Launchers
ADB remount
adb push c:\bluetooth_power.sh /system/etc/
unzip attached file to c:\
Swapping sdcard and sdcard2 around
adb remount
adb push vold.fstab /system/etc/vold.fstab
if you get permission denied error when doing adb remount then try the following instead :
adb push vold.fstab /sdcard/vold.fstab
adb shell
su
mount -o remount rw /system
cp /sdcard/vold.fstab /system/etc/vold.fstab
mount -o remount ro /system
exit
exit
reboot
Copy attached file into ur adb directory (and unzip it has the modified and original file in the zip) and do the above

this works great - - i had a problem where i have not been able to recover my internal SD card - tried everything - even back to original eclair and all - now i just use the external sd (16gb) for everything. No problems with camera recognizing sd card or programs not downloading, etc, etc....
I'll still try to maybe swap out the internal card, or try to get it functional again somehow, but in the meantime, the S7 if again functional.
Rom
Im currently using this rom an dit works perfectly : http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...ical/15812-rom-tri_zet-ideos_s7-slim-mod.html
Only problem i had was updating google maps so i just loaded the new version via .apk manually
O yes If you load that rom and it comes on the first time the screen might not respond (stuck on lockscreen) but its busy loading software in the background. Mine came up on the lock screen saying connect charger although the battery wasnt low so i plugged the charge cable in. It then rebooted after a while and the touch screen is working perfectly.

I just got my Slim S7 yesterday, hated the launcher so I replaced it not thinking it would cause such a problem... long story short I tried installing the rom you linked hoping it would fix it(tried everything else) and the touch screen still is unresponsive and USB debugging is now disabled. Any ideas?

well I finally got it working. I ended up doing multiple battery pulls and installed the geeksu recovery, and that's all I did. I'm up and running on that rom. Only thing is thatbi somehow lost root, but that was no biggy.
So I don't use adb push/install all that often but since I deleted mobile hotspot on my phone (I thought I had it frozen but apparently I didn't) I cannot upgrade my system.
I am rooted, and have tried installing from an emulator on the phone (and shell) as well as installing from and adb on the PC.
When I try to adb remount I get the following error:
remount failed: Operation not permitted
I have re-rooted thinking that an early version of root wasn't rooted for adb and also hoping that would let me install via shell. How can I get Mobile Hotspot back on?
Ok, so I was able to run a mount from terminal and copy the files and get the upgrade to go through.
So does anyone know why adb remount doesn't work? Is it because of the Moto Blur?
I was trying to install gapps and now when I reboot I am stuck and the Play Store language select screen. When I click next, it takes me to settings. I have no home or back button so I cant get anywhere other than the settings menu. I have tried a factory reset with no avail. I also tried a manual update, but I have disable OTA updates so it wont recognize the .bin file on my SD. If only I could get to ES File Explorer. Any tips on fixing this problem?
Code:
adb shell "su -c 'mount -o rw,remount /system'"
adb shell "su -c 'mv /system/priv-app/SetupWizard.apk /system/priv-app/SetupWizard.apk.old'"
adb shell "su -c 'mount -o ro,remount /system'"

Care to elaborate? I am a complete noob and shouldn't have been trying this at all. I can't access anything on my Kindle other than settings. Do I run this in command prompt on windows?
Edit: I also wanted to add that I am not one of the guys who sits around waiting for an answer without researching the problem lol
You need install adb on your PC - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Install drivers for our tablet (no need to reboot fastboot just manual install drivers for your kindle at device manager) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59268023&postcount=8
Open CMD (cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>)and paste these commands. I assume you rooted if you can block ota.

Apparently I no longer have root since I reset to factory. I do have the adb drivers installed, but I get stuck when using the command prompt because I dont have su access. Anyway for me to root it with only access to settings? I am on 4.5.2
are you sure?
earlier I had root even after hard reset on 4.5.2
anyway you could try install kingroot but I do not sure
I think @Cl4ncy and @Davey126 may clarify this.

Yes, I no longer had root access. Thanks to all of your other help and suggestions, I have been able to successfully get my Fire HDX working again. With all of the info you gave I was able to research and piece together what I needed. I was able to install Kingroot through cmd and then use the commands you gave to get rid out of settings. Thanks alot!
