My wp7 are connected to exchange and all contact are synced without any problems I can find contact via people and call to but if I receiving call event from callers with already in my address book i get "unknown contact" msg, why so? I can’t found any setting with can bring caller info name from people. Please help.
Because they hide their number?
i see phone number but no name
No one use exchange and have this problem?
no exchange and sometimes it recognizes the number sometimes not
it's because of the country (f.e +44 or 0044) phone codes before the phone number. I have the same problem!
The incomming calls are without the codes. If you have stored the contact with the country code, the phone won't recognize it. Strange thing for a phone made in 2010. Next thing is that the incomming SMS have the country codes! I solved it the following way:
1) I sync my Mozart with hotmail;
2) I installed outlook connector and added the hotmail account to my outlook.
3) Exported the contacts to excell file
4) Copied all phone numbers to another phone number column (fe.Home_Phone) and removed all country codes from the phone numbers in that column. As result I have two phone numbers for each contact - one with country code (to recognize incomming SMS) and one without country code (to recognize incoming calls);
5) Imported the excell file back to the hotmail contacts in outlook by "replacing items with imported", pressed "rend/receive" to sync with hotmail - done.
I hope you got my idea and sorry for my broken english!

I have had problems sending SMS for a while, i will try and send them and get a message telling me that the message couldn't be sent. I can receive them though. I have worked out that it is because my XDA adds a dialling code to any phone number that I have. For some reason when I enter a phone number in my contacts a "425" prefix is automatically added, and i think this is the problem. I have already gone into settings>connections tab>connections>dialling locations tab and deleted all the "425" prefixes from all locations but it still adds the prefix when entering a number in my contacts. HELP!!! PLEASE
think that I've sorted now, just deleted all of the existing dialling locations and created a new one
I've bought phone few days ago. I've used it for some time without SIM card. In that time I've changed memory card, imported contact list from google, sync with facebook and tweeter...
Now, I've moved SIM from old phone to P500 and make/receive some calls and exchange few SMS. While I can see names in messaging application for both(sent and received SMS) in call log I see only phone numbers (even for outgoing calls from my favorite contact list). Any idea?
Phone info:
Andorid: 2.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: FRF91
Software: V10a-SEP-25-2010
I can not say I've solved the problem but I can see names in call log now...
All phone numbers in old phone were entered with country prefix (+XXXXXXXXXXX) and they were exported like that to google contacts. After import they remain the same in new phone and I can use them to make a call.
After removing country prefix call logs showed contact name. Also, for some contacts I've just remove + sign and put it back and call log show names for that entries too.
My solution:
I copy all contacts from gmail tu phone PC Sync contacts , p500 automatic marge contacts (not displaying double) and I see names in log.
Hi Everyone,
Quite a number of people, especially in Europe are experiencing caller id issues on the HTC Mozart, and some other HTC devices with WP7 (I can only be sure of the Mozart though). The issue is decsribed by many people here:
answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-wppeople/htc-trophy-caller-id-problem/90c3b4d2-b558-4e6e-aa91-2530285f302f
Basically, I have my Mozart getting the contacts from my Exchange mailbox via sychronisation. All the contacts are stored with the international prefix (+356 for Malta, +44 for UK etc. etc.) to have everything working while local or roaming. Everything works ok except caller ID. SMS are recognised with no exception while calls are not recognised, at least not all of them.
Depending on which provider the caller is, numbers sometimes come in with the international prefix and sometimes they are not (depending on the local provider the caller is subscribed to). Basically the Mozart does not recognise the caller ID if it does not find an EXACT match in the address book. Eg. If the call comes in with +356 123456 the caller is recognised, if the call comes in with 123456, it is not. SMS is not affected by this issue. All SMS are recognised as they all come in with the prefix.
And there is no workaround as if I remove the prefix from my contacts, the SMS will start not to be recognised.
In brief, the Mozart does not strip the international prefix or have some condition to recognise the number if it is not a perfect match (including the prefix). I did not see any mention on this in these forums, but have seen it elsewhere, and for sure it is a problem which affects some Mozart owners depending on their provider.
Have contacted HTC and and after some useless replies, I received silence.
After debranding my T-mobile Mozart, and running the RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33 b.50, the problem remained exactly the same as before.
The same SIM card in my Mozart works ok on a Galaxy S of a friend or an old Nokia feature phone, so the issue is specific to the Mozart.
Can anyone provide any insight? Is anyone experiencing the same problem?
Thanks,
Stefan
Exactly the same here, I also debranded the same way and the problem remains the same.
I saw in some other forum that there should be a way to change a parameter in the registry to limit the lookup to the last 8 digits, which would fix it for me. Is there a way to do this on a Mozart?
quax 0815
I used hack from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907971
look for -Caller ID issue fix in the first post.
I had the problem of having to save both numbers with and without the country code. (Country code for SMS, and no country code for calls).
Works like a charm My country code has three digits. If it doesent work try tweaking the number in registry hack.
the ultimate resolution
1- go to the following address to download registry editor:
touchxperience
.com
/en/applications/viewcategory/3.html
choose the file: Registry Editor Version:0.9 by checking the box next to it then click on download.
2-copy the downloaded file to your phone (probably to the storage card) and then install it.
3-go to applications and open the new application: Registry Editor.
4-go to the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
then
ControlPanel
then
Phone
then
CallIDMatch
then choose the type to be " dword " and change the value to " 7 "
5- finally soft reset you phone or turn it off then on and BANG!
enjoy
How do you copy the downloaded file to the WP7 device?
[Q] Caller ID for incoming call display unknow number even thought it is in contact list
Device HTC ARIA running android 2.3.3
I have one contact, whose home number is 123456789 and work nunber is set to 18005551212 x4500.
When contact call from home, on my cell it display cantact's photo and name
but when contact call from his work it display no picture, unknown name and correct phone number.
if i remove his extention then when contact call from work it display ok.
I know it is not possible to put X in phone number filed but I setup number in google contact Web GUI and sync my phone in that case display number as 18005551212 x4500
Is there any way to store extension per number in such a way that it display correct contact.
Amazfit Pace on standard ROM. When people call, only the number shows, not the name. This seems to be because the app doesn't pick up the contact name if the number has been stored with the international dialling code, which all of mine have. For example, if I store my home number as 020 12345678 it works and shows home when I can, if I store it as +44 20 12345678 then it doesn't show the name, just the number.
Is there any way to address this without removing the country code from all contacts?
No.
The app shows the name to the number that your provider sends to you, exactly that number.
Damn that's annoying, this is pretty much a showstopper for me - one of the main features I like about smartwatches is the ability to screen calls from it, and if possible drop them directly from the phone.
I found a solution to this problem with Amazfit support. If any one else will have the same problem, this was solution for me:
- Go to phone settings, apps and choose Amazfit, then go to Permissions and disable everything, then enable everything.
- Restart phone and watch.
- Caller ID then started to work.
Thanks, but it didn't work. Numbers that match exactly are ok, but if the number is stored with a country code and the person calls from the same company, it doesn't.
