Go to settings, Applications > Manage Applications > Market > Click clean cache and uninstall updates > Reboot.
Once rebooted open market and accept terms, should work fine now.

Can someone please tell me what to do. I got this problem with my phone i can't update any apps or even download any apps on the market it just keep telling me when im gonna update or download ''Download was unsuccesful please try again.
My phone isnt even rooted. When i go to market then downloads i can see the apps that i have updated for a couple of weeks ago still running not even finish installing or updating. Can someone please help me im so confuse right now i dont know what to do

The solution to this is go to settings > applications > Manage Applications > search for market > click > clear cache +data
Reboot
Your problem will be solved

Hey i appreciate that u reply i did what u told me to do but still it aint working
There's a problem with the market since yesterday. No fix available atm! The problem is on google's side. Just be patient for awhile. (We're getting pretty good at it).

same here, solution didnt work.
I just downloaded an app from the market.
U guys may want to uninstall the updated market. Go to settings - applications. Scroll down market and then uninstall update.

I'm having a recent issue with new market on my backup roms..
I'm not sure whether its the new market or the pendo transparent zip that's causing the problem.

just do this .... go setting/application/manage application/ running/ sony ericsson home / clear data ..... I hoope it will help your problem

Ok .... then... re install your new rom using xrecovery .... afte that it will show call log force close... and others... but its ok.... you just do the same thing as I told you b4 ....
I'm also not expert ... i just want to try to help you ...It was the same thing happen to me last time..... but now ok for me...

try formatting data through xrecovery (this will delete all ur game saves and any other DATA on the PHONE (wont touch the memory card))
Tried format data which seems to have solved my market forceclose issue but now I can't download from market. Can't download titanium backup..or anything else from market now..gives the starting download message but never starts.
Finally was able to get new market to download...but right after force close started again.
I do not have this problem with backed up roms that I didnt install the new market on..

You never describe what is your phone and what rom u using
if u say that , it will easy to solve your problem for me and others
but you try this,
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All
Download Manager -> "Force Stop" and "Clear Data"
Market -> "Force Stop" and "Clear Data"
Talk -> "Force Stop" and "Clear Data"
Restart your phone

I have a few roms backed up...trips cm6..trips miui gb and froyo..and wolfbreaks v007..some for 2 months. I had new market installed on the earlier ones with no issues until recently. Those that i left the preinstalled market i have no problem

Settings-> Accounts & sync -> check Background data
And you will have to add yout google accoun too, if you havent done untill now
I flashed Mik_os CM7 6.5.7 and it doesnt have android market, so i instaled it, version 3.1.5 but whenever i get in and try to log in, it sends me back to home screen! I tried to log in trough Account & sync but it says that it cannot open connection to server! Help please!

It happens to me after I flash a new ROM. Give some time for it to install any updates for the market app. Go to Settings -> Applications -> Market and force close it. Restart the app and it should start.
if still not working try restart phone

Are you sure your Google account is set with a valid email address?
And do not install some market apk as is... just flash the Gapps from Mik's thread. Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?j80xkzrgdd6pjxb
It will give the market app as on April 29th 2011. Once you've installed it, it will probably update itself to the latest market. If you do not want the updated market, let it update first. Then go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Market -> Press 'Uninstall updates' button.
If you want to stop the app, go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Market -> Press 'Force Stop' button. Then run the app again to restart it freshly.
Hope this helps.
