1,2,3,4, Root all from app market - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

IDK if people use this but i use it and it works JUST FINE...
to root my 2.1 xperia x10 mini pro i just went on app market...
typed in "root" into search and scroll down a LITTLE
and this Chinese thingy saying z4root--(Chinese symbols ...) root (more symbols)
came up looked at comments seemed legit, downloaded & installed.
it took about 2 - 3 minutes to root the device once I opened it.
looked like it had froze... but it didn't... just took a while to apply the root.
rooted my device, auto restarted it, and Tada works fine now no hassle
it all kinda happy with it.
Even came with the superuser thingy pre-installed too.
downloaded a over-clocking tool and granted root permissions and works fine.
[[[UPDATES]]]
Downloaded systemapp remover used to uninstall lots of apps
still working fine and faster battery lasts longer because of things I don't use
( this is with the over clocking tool keeping my phone at 600mhz ALL DAY )
Heres is a small list I've been messing around with...
SAFE UNINSTALL LIST CLICK HERE

confirmed, works like a charm (no other root worked for me)
thanks liamguest

nice work!!
thnksss!!!!!it works fine at my E10i mini!!!!!you are great!!

nice work, I have found that there is a English version of the same program and it works very well. Tried it on my wife's U20i with Android 1.6.
Thanks a lot, lets see now if I can upgrade to 2.1 :=)
It took less than 30 seconds and the phone did not freeze at all (maybe 1.6 is easier to root than 2.1)

good job !!!beneficial

why do you keep your phone on 600mhz?

OK, update....
I am not sure that is roots 1.6 (it looked as if it was rooted), but when I tried to open root explorer, I would always get a error saying that it can not access root privileges because of super user. No matter how many times I would reboot the phone or reopen root explorer the same message would always pop up.
Now I have updated to 2.1 (officially with SEUS), and I am trying this tool again.
Hope that this time it will work. So far I am waiting for it to root for 6 minutes. Will post back how much time it took.
Regards to all.
Update:
After 15 min and I was still waiting for the root. I ended up taking out the battery, and doing it again. The device got rooted the 2nd time quite fast (max 2 min), and now I can use root explorer, thus I have finally rooted the phone.
Have fun.

a question about the root... is it full root (s-off)?
I want to install font changer (to get bigger fontsize), and despite my having rooted my phone, and granted su permissions to this app, it tells me it doesn't have permission to write to the system partition, where the fonts are.
I have been trying via adb shell via cmd on the PC, a terminal emulator on the phone, I get the #, but no joy when I try to mount as rw.
Tried mounting each folder on the phone to rw, didn't work either
This is with Android 2.1 (I have managed to remove all Vodafone branding, games trials from the phone, so the basic su permissions are there, just not the "FULL ROOT")

z4root isnt showing on market anymore, at least not for me anyway, either the x8 or the x10

Worked great on mine, where all others failed. Currently uing SE's latest 2.1 update 1

[Q] Rooting Android 2.1

I have a few questions with regards to rooting my Xperia X10a running android 2.1.
1. I have already set up the phone to my liking (apps installed, settings, etc), if i root my phone will i lose all my apps and settings? Basically will it get factory reseted?
2. I have seen a video on youtube of a user rooting the xperia x10 with android 2.1 using super one click, does this method work and is it safe?
Thank You
1. Your settings, apps, and all your other stuff will remain the same, nothing on your phone will change, other than you will now have root access.
2. I've never personally used superoneclick, but I've heard good things. I myself have used Z4 root ( I forget if it's on the market ) and it worked like a charm and only took maybe 30 seconds.
Happy hunting!
P.S. Z4 root is also a "one click" root, very simple
Yes z4root 1.2.1 ist the best software for root
Woks fine an my x10.
yup work like a charm for me,, but one think, you need to install and app that need root,,, cause if you try to open 4zroot again to see if your have root, it maybe show the root button, that happen to me the first time i took a look on the app,, and of course i click again the root button,, and then i think about what i just read,, so i install barnacle tether and it show me that the app ask for root and then i was granted,, so i return to the 4zroot and the moment i open the app superuser message appears asking permission for 4zroot,, now it shows two buttons,, root and unroot.....
you migh try it it works like a charm on the xperia x10a
hope that helps you

[Q] If new firmware update or a bug?? [SOLVED]

Hi guys i m a happy owner of X10 Mini (E10i).
I m not new to xda i have used earlier Himalaya, magician and leo.
Yesterday i was very happy to root my phone, used xrecovery, enabled jit. used app2sd. (i used seus around 10 times whenever i was bricking my phone.)
i really got performance enhancement.
All things i did in my office, i have plenty of free time in office.
When i tried to use Green Theme by Deanosoft i ended in Booting loop problem.
i forgot to take backup b4 that from xrecovery.
i went to home and tried to repair my Mini using seus. i double checked the files in Program data folder (Win 7) those 2 big files.
What i saw seus it started to download from internet.
i immediately canceled that and again did a check, files were there.
i started update again and it started to download i didnt canceled and let it download.
finally when the phone started, i rooted it and when i searched the inbuilt installer to install Root installer apk i was shocked not to see it.
what i did, i completely uninstalled the pc companion from my system. Deleted the empty folders also.
Re installed Seus
i did repair again from seus and again i was shocked not to see that installer.
any way i went ahead with rooting, installed root explorer from internet (not market) titanium backup.
as and when i opened titanium backup it asked for root access i allowed that. but it gave me error that it was not able to access root permission.
( i think i got error in root explorer also but forgot that)
i went to superuser (SOC) in my x10 mini it was saying titainum backup status allowed and logs were also saying allowed.
i restarted my mini and it worked fine.
another strange thing is that, earlier i was getting a message about root granting permission as flashing on lower part of screen but now the message is coming on the notification area of screen. and i have to clear the notification if i need to use clean screen.
i can provide any info or File names (may b new) if anybody want to compare with them.
i dont know how. but by reflashing again my problem is solved. i m so sorry for not looking back as i was busy in weekend.
So Mod please delete or close the thread as needed.

Download Temp Root Tool v2
Ill try it on Wednesday when I get the device. Atleast we can use titanium.
One thing I was thinking is there any way we can boot into custom recovery with temp root? Because I know on one phone that I rooted for someone it would just reboot into a temporary custom recovery from which stuff could be flashed. Obviously if it boot looped you needed to RUU restore but it was worth the trouble to get root.
is this wireless tether app susceptible to verizon identifying unauthorized wifi tether use? I know on other devices only certain ROMS are safe.
Just tried this. Unfortunately it doesn't work at all for me. I tried running Cache Cleaner NG and it said that it was unable to get root permissions. I tried clicking on SuperUser (the app itself) and it FCs every time.
EDIT: Rebooted and tried again and it appears to be working.
EDIT2: Not working again. Seems to only last a few minutes.
Alright enough is enough. Imma try it.now. all this talk about root is driving me nuts. Thanks Nils..

I tried to get temp root using the zerg technique, and it didn't work too good. I want to try this method, but I'm not sure how to remove the Superuser from my first attempt. It doesn't show up as an uninstallable app. Can anyone shed some light for me? Thanks!
its worked for me! though it still didnt mount the SD, so i took off the back lifted the battery a LITTLE and used a paper clip to slide out the sd and then to slide it back in. then i went to TI and it didnt want to work, so i uninstalled and reinstalled both, and then it worked. now i have everything frozen that i wanted.

You know, you can go into SETTINGS>SD & Phone Storage and remount it that way... for next time.
I tried this and mine also unmounted my SD Card and Titanium didn't have root access. Uninstalled Titanium and the phone rebooted on its own and is now in a an infinite boot loop. Guess I am going to have to use HBOOT, wipe the phone and start ALL FREAKING OVER AGAIN! fml

Nils, question. Do I just download the zip file directly to my phones sdcard in the described folder I would create, then install it from there directly from the phone?

To answer this question, yes they do!!!
So let's start a "What can we safely freeze" list. I was pretty conservative the first time:
Blockbuster
Backup Assistant
VCast
VCast Music
Let's Play Golf
Need for Speed
Rebooted and they're all still gone. Root has been lost though, I'd have to re-run the app to get root back.

Awesome. If they stay frozen i can live without soff/root for much longer.
I am having the same issue with applying the update, root installs fine and when I reboot root is gone, along with Superuser, Busybox, etc. installed it a few times and every time I reboot root gets lost.

Thats the whole point of TEMP root. When you reboot, Root is GONE. You have to Re-root every time you reboot your phone.

Problems with root (some apps work, some not)

Hey guys, hate starting new threads, but this time I just had to. Here's the deal:
First I had a Galaxy Ace. I rooted it, and used root normally for a couple of months. Then something went bazzerk (don't know how to spell bazzerk xD), just as it is on my new Xperia neo. My root explorer works flawlessly and I'm able to mount my system r\o / r\w when ever I want and explore all sys files. BUT, my ROM toolbox, GO backup, etc. all apps that actualy "touch" system files (I mean change or retrieve the above), freeze when a command is given. I.e. I want to move an unmovable app to the sd card. The file IS moved, but the app freezes on "loading". GO backup: I restore a file, it's completely restored, but the app frezzes on 99% even though the job's done. Why is this happening, and is there a way to fix it?
Thank you all, and cheers
P.S. This problem sometimes just vanshies, but it's back a few days later.
P.P.S. I tried restarting, taking the battery out, restarting SU, and restarting the freezing apps, nothing erases the problem.
Have to you tried to factory reset in your phones settings?
If you´re rooted check the superuser app and loock at the log
what does superuser state?

No, I think that would fix it but then I'd have to set back everything on my phone, which I don't want

Superuser says everything's fine. I already mentioned I can see all my root files with no problem. But when another app tries the same, it freezes.

Installed, checked. Says it's rooted. I'm using Superuser and it's reporting no problems. Still freezes when an app changes something.
The thing is root works, I mean I can backup\restore app data, freeze apps, etc. but after the phone does this, the app freezes, even though it's done. A very strange problem. Is there anything I could have accidently made to brake it (exept disallowing an app from Superuser rights, I checked that three times; allways allowed) ?
I remember that i faced such problems a few weeks ago...
some root file explorers denied me the acces to the root files while i tried to change a bootanimation
root acces was granted but it didnt worked
afterwards i tried another root file explorer and it worked fine
why ?
i dont know but something went wrong with the first file browser
Try SuperSU v0.95
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
Thank you all, it so happened that this version of Superuser didn't quite well support these versions of apps. Just changed the ROM Toolbox to a newer version, and it works perfectly.
:good:
apparently not working after root
noob here, I did my first root today, and have only been an android user for 2 weeks after defecting from apple since the first iphone. I was a jailbreak veteran of idevices, but I got bored with the stale bread, so I spent my taxmas on a Samsung galaxy s4. Specifically wanting the i9500 version so it would be unlocked to use on net10. I followed the steps from website, and video on Odin. And it looked like it worked perfectly. It wasn't until I tried to my photo gallery app to look at some pictures, and it crashed and wouldn't load. I had the same issue with a business calendar issue app that wouldn't open. I tried clearing system cache on gallery app but no luck. I'm afraid I'm in over my own head now, and might want to restore and start from scratch. The first thing I did after rooting was a full Titanium backup. only things that I installed after root was xposed installer and an app within the installer called swipeback.
I would like to know if there is a fix for this, without having to break away from root? Or if I must, how do I know which stock file I need. I know it's i9500ubueMk1 but there's many different regions.. I bought from a best buy in Charlotte . If there isn't a simple fix to fix why my apps aren't working, then the root does more harm than good, and I wanna go back to normal.
Someone please walk me through this!!
thanks

I had the same problem. Theres nothing wrong with your phone, its the app. Instead of root explorer, download root browser. It works better

[Q] Micromax A57 unrooting itself without notice - why ?

Good morning world,
I rooted my A57 phone few weeks back by following the procedure that is described everywhere on the internet. Since that moment, the phone is pretty stable.
But something interesting happened twice to my phone. Without any particular reason, my phone goes back to a non-rooted state. I notice it because I stop being able to load any application that requires root permissions, like Titanium Backup for example.
TB tries to boot, Superuser grants it the root user permissions but then TB stays stuck on "Asking for root...". Almost same thing happens to ES File Explorer, which cannot mount /system/ as root anymore. Basically, I cannot do anything that requires root access anymore.
I tried many things but the only solution that currently works is to root it again.
Does anyone know why my phone is acting this way ? Is my phone updating and unrooting itself without me knowing ? Can I block this ? Is this a bug of Superuser ? Any idea ?
Thank you very much for your kind help.
