is it possible - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have axura ROM right now and i have installed voodoo lagfix because the OCLF bricks phone with axura.. all im wanting now is Overclocking.. but im kinda confused aboit a couple of things.. if i was to get an OC, is that the kernel? and is a lagfix a kernel too? or is that something else? and i kno that i cant install jacs Oc or anything like that.. i would have to go with eugenes A11 or A12 or any of those similar..
my main question is would i b able to have axura ROM with voodoo lagfix and have one of eugenes OC's? or would something cross and brick my phone?
also.. if anyone has OCLF installed with their axura ROM.. can someone please explain to me how they did it.. cuz if i just install the tools then add lagfix( like ur suppose to) it bricks my phone..

Downgrade 2.2 to 2.1 I SEARCHED ALREADY!

Ok before everybody goes crazy over here and starts to roast me for putting up such a noob question and all that and telling me to search.. Here it goes.. Dont do it please!
Ok so i got TeamWiskey's Froyo 2.2 i like the rom and everything but the phone and contacts.apk suck they are terribly laggy and etc. So also my launcherpro plus seems to lag a bit more on 2.2 so now im wondering how to revert back to 2.1 without using ODIN! i dont do odin i dont know odin and i dont wanna mess with odin.. So is it possible i can just flash a 2.1 kernel like TeamWiskeys Core v3 and then flash a 2.1 Rom? Or no its not possible..
I have not done it personally, but if you flash the stock JI6 kernel you could probably just restore one of your nandroid backups of stock (assuming you have one).
Just install Bionix or something

I dont think installing bionix or fusion will get me back to 2.1 kernel or will it? And hmm i dont want to risk anything nd im not sure if i have a nandroid of 2.1 or is my nandroid 2.2
just flash a rom with a kernel that is built into the rom. any of the bionix roms should do.

Yes, almost (It think all) custom 2.1 ROMs have a kernel built in.
I know Master Rom does
Bionix does
Fusion does
etc
If you open the zip & go to updates & see zImage then yes
Alrite cool so ill just try that i didnt trust myself into doing it and risking a brick so yeah thanks for the help guys//
Ok it worked somebody can lock this now.. All i did was flash another fusion rom =]

can i?

Why would you want to have so many Lag fixes in first place?
Anywayz, to answer your question. there is nothing preventing you from running multiple LF's on your phone. Just be mindful on what you are doing with your phone and make a nandroid before you do all the LF's
I'm calling a To-Fu'd phone soon...
Just flash a froyo rom and leave the lag-fixes alone!

Lagfix restore ext2 WHAT IS IT ?

what is it? what does it do? Is it a lagfix or does it restore a lagfix?
What needs to be done before flashing it?
vibrant rooted
macnutR14
super io kernel
2.2 froyo
I would suggest reading the vibrant bible for a little while before asking questions I'm not trying to be an ass but people are sometimes buttholes when they come across things like this I've done it out of frustration before but a lot of your answers can be found in the bible perhaps answers to questions you may not even have yet
testing eugenes ginger clone
OCLF converts the system to Ext2, this is faster than the method the Vibrant uses stock. Because of this you would notice apps opening faster as opposed to the slight delay that MAY be there now (probably not for you so much by looking at your signature).
So lagfix restore is a lagfix?
Do u recommend using it or is there something better out there
vibrant rooted
macnutR14
super io kernel
QS 1127
2.2 froyo
I stopped using oclf today and now I'm using voodoo it seems my phone is faster but I'll need more testing time

Unless I miss my guess, you're refering to the lagfix restore from Eugene for his roms. The short answer is yes, it's a lagfix designed to work only with his roms, although I'm not sure if it's even all of them. Personally, I'd say just go with One Click Lagfix. It's easy, it's in the market, you can't lose

[Q] Enabling voodoo after ROM setup

Ive been using Nero v3 for a little while, and Im interested in trying voodoo. Since flashing, Ive installed a few tweaks (some updated apps from SGS tools), and a theme (SGB 2.2.2).
I know its damn near impossible to perma-brick this phone, but is it safe to enable voodoo now that Ive tweaked the rom a bit?
You should have no problems. I've done it a few times on nero v3.
Thanks, Ill be giving it a try later tonight, but Im debating on waiting til the new SBG comes out...
I've made a LOT of changes and voodoo + nero v3 play very well together.
Remember, its a stock kernel so it really is very safe. Just recall to disable before flashing anything unless it too is voodoo'd. ha
Took the plunge, thanks for easing my fear of possible dragons hah
Can you elaborate on what you can flash when voodoo is enabled?

Basically anything but a rom or kernel that doesn't support ext4 FS is safe. In other words, almost anything since most rom developers are packaging voodoo kernels now
So if nero v4 came out with the voodoo kernel I could flash the package and not have to convert to rfs and back to ext4?
^ yes, unless sombionix states otherwise.

You don't necessarily need to disable voodoo if you go from a ROM with Voodoo 5.x enabled kernel to another ROM that utilizes Voodoo infused kernel. I've done it jumping from nero beta v3 with supercurio's jl4 kernel to nerov2+voodoo jl4 to nerov3+voodoo jl5. However, it is recommended to ODIN back to stock before jumping from ROM to ROM. It is also suggested to disable Voodoo just in case, I am just playing danger ranger
