've rooted the phone with SuperOneClick, and everything was ok. I deleted the stock sms app (mms.apk) but kept it in the sd card.
Now, because i want to send my phone to lg, i want to restore it to its factory condition, so i tried to install mms.apk on the phone but i get the message "the application is not installed".
So i made a hard reset of my phone, but the stock app is not in the phone.
How can i install the app, so LG won't "find out" that i erased the app and that i rooted the phone, so to not have any problems with the warranty??
Thanks.

You can try updating to the latest firmware possible on your location using SE PC companion or with SEUS.

You can backup first all your applications, SMS and contacts (I'm using MyPhoneExplorer from Market to do this)then try flashing using the latest Flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746&highlight=2.1.A.0.435
i have been up all night trying to look for possible solutions to my phonebook and calling errors but to no avail...could anyone instead point mo to the right direction...i would want to flash my phone and restore it to its original stock settings...whenever i try the flash tool, it seems it couldnt find the ftf file for my baseband...when i tried the flasher included for my baseband.46 it doesnt restore everythinng to its original state...
finally after almost 2 days of trial and error i finally got my phone to work...next stop to install custom firmwares...
the process com.sonyericsson.android. socialphonebook has stopped.

I am having the same problem with contacts ( the process com.sonyericsson.android. socialphonebook has stopped.)
How did you fix the problem? I have a new Xperion J
I've accidently done system format and wiped my whole phone. When I switch the phone on it sticks on the "Sony Ericsson" screen, I've tried pressing the back button hoping to get back to xrecovery but everything has gone.
I've read a few posts saying that pc companion can fix the problem but after trying that it doesn't find my phone, what has made it worse I don't have any back up stored anywhere to try fixing the problem
Can anyone please help me get my phone up and running again especially as it is my main contact to my son
Uninstall pc companion and redownload and install it,(That should sort the drivers out to recognise your phone) and if that does not work try SEUS
looks like you will have to go back to stock then use flashtool to root and reinstall xrecovery and start again...

Thanks. In the process of downloading both now. Would I be able to go back to stock using either of these as I did not have anything backed up, not even the stock rom....my rom was stock anyway only rooted to get rid of certain apps
As an alternative you can use the flashtool and flash a generic firmware. That will put a stock rom and maybe even get an updated baseband depending on which firmware you grab. Check this thread and maybe bookmark it too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Yes, either of these will put you on stock rom with the latest firmware and baseband for your region and phone.
hope you manage to sort it out...let me know if you have any problems, you can always pm if you need to

Thanks sooooo much for the help with this, downloaded SEUS and saved my phone all the help is much appreciated!!
i used SparkyRoot to root my prime and uninstall some apps. Now I have to send the tablet back to asus so I did a factory reset and unroot using SparkyRoot. however, the deleted apps are still missing and i still cant update my prime (with red triangle).
I have heard if i download the update file directly from asus will work but i dont know how to use the file. please help!
before you deleted anything
did you do any modification of the root directories? such as adding a boot screen animation? super charge? keyboard re-mapping?
if you did you have to restore those back to default manually or else it won't update your prime~

no i havent. i deleted asus music, library, google+ i think
any idea how to reset to original setting?
i think you're gonna need to find the apk to re-install the missing apps... cause i think the updater are seeing those apps being missing so its giving you an error
same thing happened to me bro. i was at awe as to why it didnt upgrade. what i did was i had to flash the factory image (.15) and then the ota worked. theres threads all over on how to do that. i upgrade to .21 but now my tablet wouldnt unlock. in terms of bootloader. did a factory reset and it worked.

A factory reset doesn't restore deleted apps. You'll need to reinstall the stock apk files that were removed as already mentioned.

Hi
I've unrooted my phone because I'm missing SkyGo and also couldn't get updates easily via Kies. Titanium Backup won't even show as an icon, SuperSU gives an error when starting and ROM Toolbox says root access is required. All of this would confirm to me that my phone is not rooted and in addition the phone's status is 'normal'.
So why does SkyGo still tell me my phone is rooted and it won't support rooted devices?
Also, when I connect to KIES to look for updates, why does it tell me my firmware is not supported?
I downloaded stock 4.1.2 ROM from SAMOBILE and the build number is JZO54K.I9300XXEMA1. Baseband version is I9300XXELLA.
Do I need to do anything else?
Thanks, Paul

Thanks for such a speedy response. Being a bit of a novice at all of this, will I lose any data or settings if I factory reset? Do I do this by holding down vol up, home and power or through "Back up and reset" in settings?
Thanks, Paul

A factory reset after flashing stock firmware is the only thing (if I understand correctly ) you can do.

Thanks for that idea. Will I lose data?
Regarding other threads, I have searched for quite a long time looking for the information on Sky Go and Kies that I need but haven't found solutions. I might be looking in the wrong places, but no luck yet.

What about Skys own forum ???

I suspect Sky won't help you Unfortunately.
The reason they do not allow access from rooted phones is from a security point of view. .
It is much easier on a rooted phone to find ways of recording from the app etc and sky obviously won't allow that .
So I guess your decision comes down to what is more important to you. ..
The ability to watch Sky Go?
Or the functionality and features of a rooted phone.
I personally chose the latter. ..

Almost full failure, I would flash either a nandroid backup or an original stock kdz/TOT using LGUP/UPPERCUT and reroot. Be sure to disable automatic updates when using custom firmware to keep from corrupting the installed images
