I finally managed to get Axura 2.0.5 working on my vibrant, but I now have this "website not found" error with specific websites (screwattack and gametrailers to name a couple). I could get into these website before I flashed but couldn't view anything because I didn't have flash player. Now the only browser that will bring up these sites is opera mini. Since opera mini doesn't have flash support, its a waste of time.
Is there something in the network settings that might have been erased or changed? At first I thought I destroyed my service but I can still make phone calls and visit other websites. Could someone please help me fix this? My carrier is TMobile US if that helps.
Those work for me. Same rom. Did you try reinstalking packages from cwr?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
would that be the update.zip? Sorry, I'm new to this.
Thank You!!!!! That got it working!

Hi,
First thing I tried was iPlayer on the BBC site, worked fine at first. Just trying now and get 'Adobe Flash download required' message on the iPlayer webpages. Tried other sites and the usual Flash adverts still work.
Anyone else get this?
Thanks
Phil
P.S. Weird...Can watch rerun on bbc main desktop page (Dragons Den) . Perhaps different flash type in main iPlayer pages? Even went to episode I originally watched on Hero, now gives the 'need to install flash' message too!
Tried Beebplayer on the Market?
Regards,
Dave
Every flash site I go to sends me to the 'download adobe' site and it always comes up 'too many redirects' and won't let me load it, including the bbci site. How did you get round that

Yes, but that is not always working. Point is I was able to view it in the BBC page without an additional app.
So can anyone else answer it, or know why I can't get on flash sites or get the 'too many server directs' everytime I get forwarded to Adobe by the flash sites?
I've never been able to view it on the BBC webpage, only in beebPlayer.
Phil, David?
Am I Invisible, I mean it's not a hard question?
OK, HTC got back to me. The same for them now so not my phone. BBC have changed something.
Peter, I don't live on this board so never saw your message. I suggest HTC customer support as they are paid to answer questions. I am not, and don't know what's wrong with your phone.
No Phil, you're not, but you don't mind asking people for help, but then tell me your not paid to help. How charming. And no you don't live on here, but my ask was up there when you left your message the second time.
The purpose of the boards it to help each other, not just tell people your not paid to answer.
I do hope you sort your own problem out
Peter, when I added my message I never saw yours. No intention to ignore. Generally if people don't answer I assume they have no answer.
Perhaps the network you are on would be relevant to the board. Other than that can't see why U would have any problem.
Good luck with your problem.

Chances are that if you don't get an answer, nobody reading this thread has one!
You should probably start a separate thread, because you seem to be having a generic flash issue. It would be useful if you linked some sites that aren't working for you, since "every flash site I go to" isn't particularly helpful.
It should be said though that Flash support in Hero is limited to Flash 9 at present rather than Flash 10, which is become more ubiquitous on the web. Flash 10 support is apparently coming later in the year, or early 2010.
Try the games on the CBeebies website - I know that these work ok.

Dave
bbc iplayer stopped??
You bet they have not stopped the iplayer! (hope the credit crunch won't make them one day...) :
Go directly to bbc iplayer page www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/install
to download their updated version (via Adobe Air), that should be it!
(Personally I wish they could improve a bit on information policy: a short line on iplayer would have done that there's a new version to come up. could have saved users some embarrassment.
At least there's good reason for them to come up with an update, read it. You'll see they' re not just pulling a stunt)
iplayer stopped? certainly not.

Thread necromancy!
Erhhh - no. There is no updated version of Flash for the Hero, and the HTC supplied version doesn't work.

Hi all,
I have been trying for weeks to get the IM.apk on my htc hero by installing it through appinstaller and pushing it through terminal. I also put the ImProvider.apk, TmoImPlugin.apk, com.android.im.plugin.jar and so on. I have tried everything to get it working. All i want is the native IM app that has msn and yahoo because it was my favorite on the G1. I use google talk but i also want the official IM app. Anyone figure out a way to do this? I have been at this for weeks. Please help me, thanks

PLEASE!!!!
Anyone knows how can we install this IM?
Thanks...
Just an FYI, but it's largely a waste of time unless you happen to be a T-Mobile US customer since it doesn't work over cellular data for the more common protocols (AIM, MSN etc). If you are a T-Mobile US customer, it will "work" via a cellular connection, but does so using SMS messages - if you have any other carrier SIM, it will complain that it cannot read your phone number.
If you just want to use if over WiFi - it works fine.
There was a hacked version of this floating round the Dream forums some time ago that did allow proper cellular data instant messaging, but I've no idea what happened to it.

Dave

Actually, this is being worked on at the moment by inkredi and myself. Progress can be tracked through the thread that inkredi linked to. Both of us have some ideas, but not a ton of time to work on it. I'm fairly confident we'll get it working 100% fairly soon though.
can anyone send me the .apk of the think free office that comes with our phone? mine was gone agter flashing froyo. i really like that application for text documents. thanks!

+1 me too did not have it backed up but oddly the SIMS was ;-(
Its in the market...there is a free version with some features, possibly what you need it for, and a paid version, which is very taxing. i cant find it in my backups either.

Excuse me for my stupid question but I would like to know if it is supported for HTC Wildfire.. I installed the apk file and asks for activation but it gives a message something like "cannot be activated in this hardware device".. The application runs perfectly but every time I run it, it gives me the same message..
Any ideas?
TIA

All I know is that it was for the Vibrant, so that could be the reason why.

That's true!
After a quick search I didn't find something familiar on Wildfire forums. I was wondering if there is any way to overpass this message for Wildfire. I am not satisfied with Quickoffice that is preinstalled and I find Thinkfree is more useful and powerful when editing a file.
Anyway! Thank you for your quick response! All we have to do is to compromise with this "activation" message or wait for something else in the future!!

I think there's an available in the Market.
Yes, there is a free version in the Market, but I believe it's not the exact same. Reason why I say that is because when I try to download documents via dropbox/websites, it always says there is a non-compatible app to view it and never downloads it, but when I have this Think Office version installed, everything is fine. Perhaps it's just me, but I find there is a difference between the Vibrant's and Market's version from my experience.
It is true that there is a free version in the Market but it is the free version which is only for viewing. I would like the full version which is for editing as well. The problem is that in Greece paid apps are not supported via Market and still I am with the stock rom, rooted though. Perhaps in the near future I will flash a custom rom to "unclock" paid apps but since then I wanted to know if there is a way to overpass that "activation" message by doing... something...!! maybe edtiting a file with root explorer...
anyway! thank you for your replies!
To get activation you have to edit build.prob from /system directory Change model and board name to GT-I5800 or GT-9000 or others model that you know; like: ro.product.device=GT-I5800 and ro.product.board=GT-I5800, save, reboot, connect to the Net and get activation code
After activated you can change back to orgiginal one
On the official samsung announcement it was promised that the sgs2 will have a cisco vpn anyconnect client. However I failed to find it, or any ETA, does anybody know any details about it?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I've been searching for that aswell but failed to find it. Apperently it is not on the SGS2.
I would like to be able to use it too, so if there is any info please share.
I sorta got it working.. I had to decrypt the pcf file first to get the Group password and the I used an app called vpnc from the marketplace and put in the details from the pcf file and it seems to work. I haven't got citrix running over the vpn yet, still working on that
here is the announcement
on the samsung site under /global/business/mobile/solutions.html#security_vpn
it should be possible without decryption etc., unfortunately the "more information" text on the samsung site is not linked...

I ain't no praying samsung promised it as a feature of the sgs2 (see my earlier msg), and it was one of the reasons I bought it. So I demand it!!

I am now using vpnc and I didn't have to do all the tun stuff, just needed root and that was all.

OK, so after two weeks of pain with calling Samsung tech support I was finally given the secret number for their UK head office, just to get me off their backs! HA!
I was told that these missing features are indeed scheduled for a future firmware release. They are going to try and find someone for me to talk to (apparently in Sales) who knows when these are scheduled to land.
Will let you know more if I hear back from them.
Yeah mine is rooted. I lasted 3 days when I brought it, I can't stand buying something and having certain features locked...
It's finally here !
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.cisco.anyconnect.vpn.android
and works fine (only the permanent icon in the status bar is a bit annoying)
So I am looking to create a ROM, but in which to do so I also need the basic function apps of the MT4G. So I guess my question is...
Does anyone one either have those files handy or know where I can download them from?
I thought there used to be a google app pack that was .apk, but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks,
Danny
i guess u can download the google apps package from cyanogen mod site
Wow. Thanks. You gave me info, but it would have also been awesome if maybe you left a link for me to follow.

Or, you could go to the myTouch 4G Developement section where there should be everything you want. The device database search is in the top right for a reason.
Okay so now my new problem is that my phone is now telling me it has an update, but when the phone reboots into recovery it doesn't let it finish the install. It only gets about 1/4 of the way and then has the error emblem. Does anyone know where I can get the update. I have looked on HTC's website as well as T-Mobile's website and neither of them have the .zip for me to download in order to do it.
If someone has this file that would be really awesome. I know the update isn't that important, but I would really like it.
Thanks in advance,
Danny
