Hello, I purchased a X10 today and linked all my google contacts to their respective Facebook profiles. The problem i am having is that the default pictures are not updating to the Facebook profile picture, they are just the basic no picture icons that comes with the phone. How would i fix this issue?

If I could remember, you have to download the app called Facebook sync and it's available in the market.Just follow the instruction after you install that app on your phone.
EDIT : I'm running on 2.1 now and if you can't find that app in 1.6,you have to google search the app ya
PS : Don't you want to upgrade to the newest version Eclair 2.1.You can syn the FB app with all the new photos your friends updated

I have been trying to install 2.1 but i always get "driver not installed" error while i'm trying to get the phone into flashmode. I downloaded the USB drivers from the forum and it keeps saying error occurred. Its just getting really annoying...

Is your country of origin update available? Use PC Companion or SEUS instead.Try that before using any customised ROM in XDA
You have to enable "check for new update when phone is connnected" for PC Companion.Open SEUS to check new updates too

It helped alot. I got 2.1 on my device. I'm in the US so the update wasn't released, had to use the flasher to get it on there with the updated SEUSB drivers. I had to go back to 1.6 because 2.1 was very slow and sluggish. Switching screens, phone book, texting, timescape, and keyboard were all lagging. Did you have this problem? And also I had no 3G, it would just have a "H" where the 3G icon was suppose to be.

Glad to hear that!
hmmm...I don't have any lag with my generic firmware. You can always do some configuration by changing your current firmware to Global generic.
Check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8973041#post8973041
Until your country's official firmware release is available,do a repair using SEUS.
There are some steps that you can follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828163&highlight=country+codes
Btw in 2.1 update H = High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) which is supposed to be faster that 3G.

R2R Client is for the APN to receive at beginning to get Internet Access. When you delete Contact Details you cant see Details of your Contacts anymore so dont do it!! Status Switch is a Widget can be deleted. Diagnostic Tool and SEMCCheckin are 2 Diagnostic Tools but dont know what happen if you delete it.
Software Update
Sony Ericsson Sync
Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard
Is another that keeps popping up!
SE Sync you can delete if you dont Sync with SE. Dont delete Softwareupdate go to Prefences and then Phone Info then Softwareupdate and then uncheck Automatic Search then it shouldnt be as Service in Background. But if you delete it you cant do OTA Updates anymore.
This can be used as a reference - http://ccalonnec.fr/wiki/index.php?title=SE_Xperia_X10_:_list_of_default_apps_and_how_to_remove_them

Hi, sometimes doing updates via OTA can keep your phone rooted unlike the SEUS update...
For Sony Ericsson Sync why they keep it in the last update, since december 30 2011 the service don't work anymore ?
Edit : oops didn't see that the last post was from dec 2010, sorry.
Hi,
Got my Samsung Galaxy S2 mobile today. This is my first android mobile. Trying to get use to the interface and other things.
I dont have a WiFi. but my laptop is connected via a cable. Wondering if there is a possibility to get the mobile connected to internet? I want to start downloading the apps.
Can i also download apps in PC and install somehow like iTunes for iPhone/iPod?
Thanks in advance

I cant figure out how to download the app to PC and then transfer. Any help?
Don't you have 3g data or other internet connectivity to use the market? I don't know if your computer can be used as internet source, most people want to do it the other way round. I believe Samsung Kies can be used as a contact manager. I don't know of a way to install apps via a computer. If you can download the apk of the application, copy that to your phone and using a file manager install them from there.
Kies: http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as?COUNTRY_CODE=GBR&LANGUAGE_CODE=ENG
If you don't have a wireless access point in your house you can still create one "virtually". There is lots of free/paid software for windows XP and up that will basically turn your laptop's wifi chip into what the phone see as an access point. Most these apps are really easy to use requiring no computer knowledge to set up. Just google virtual access point (insert windows version here).
As to the second question export your contact list on your nokia to a memory card as a .vcf. Insert said memory card to your galaxy s2 open contact list click the menu button and press Import/export afterwards choosing the approperiate option. Alternative would be to export your contacts to something like outlook(windows) adress book (mac) and use it as a hub to sync back the info to your new device

Best way is export from your Nokia, then import into your Gmail account using the computer. Then your contacts will sync automatically.
I'm a Nokia user too. Welcome to android, a whole different experience .
Download is to phone not PC .

Hi - I am not sure if your problem is solved or not. I have a Nokia 5800 and I selected the option (markall) and send via bluetooth. I had about 500 contacts and they were transferred without a problem.
The convoluted way of doing it is Sync using Ovisuite which syncs to Outlook. Use Go Contact Sync (Free). Syncs perfectly. U can keep Go Contact sync running so that it syncs any updates to the outlook.
Hope this helps. Sorry if you have already tried all these.
today I have downloaded the new 2.3.3 software from wolfxperia because I wanted to have root access and extra tweaks but when i booted it up i couldn't see anywhere an icon of sony ericsson sync so i've lost all my contacts!! i've already downloaded this apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698343 but it fails to display on the screen and it is not implemented in the settings menu.
my question:
is there a flashable zip to enable sony erisccon sync?
or any other solution? I don't want to use google sync because editing via the pc is not clear enough in my opinion..
sync
Cant you use pc companion sync is there..
knightrider
no, because the program on my phone is gone and i need that program to sync.
do you kwon wich apks i need to install and where to get it back?
edit: actually i've got an other question too.. earlier i said i didn't wanted to use google but if that is the only solution i have to. But how can i made a vcard file from my sony ericsson sync account? with this file wich i can import in google can i sync the contactsto my phone and my problem is solved too.
edit: i solved the problem thanks for your help in advance

It is a google account & sync setup.
It is flashable via xrecovery.
just copy it in ur sd card, and choose install custom zip from xrecovery.

if this problem persists and u need whatsapp do as following:
1- install whatsapp version 2.8 and enter ur cell number..of course it will fail to initialize
2- don't delete whatsapp just replace it with the newer version
this will give u access to chats but you'll have no contacts so they have to talk to you first
it's a half solution but better than nothing
P.S: 2.8 is available on any file sharing websites just google it
Have you tried clearing cache for the app?

I dont think pc companion will recognize phone with cm... cm is completely new built, diferent from stock. So you will not restore phone book this way. As far as i can remember, you can open the phonebook in pc and overwrite the numbers. Next time synchronize your contacts with gmail account, its not rom dependant and it will work on any android phone...
