2.1 x10a reads as x10i any way to fix?

soo ive had the 2.1 global genric on my x10a since the flash tool was released and everything has been working fine except my x10a thinks its an x10i. Its no real problem but i would like my phone to say the right thing. is there a file i can change to fix this? i already have root access and root explorer. thanks in advance

There is no official X10a 2.1 update.
If you want your X10a to think it is an X10a, then wait for the official X10a update and install that (you'll most probably have to flash your old factory ROM first).
Yes you can, I thinks it is in the build.prop file

thanks, took a look at it... should i just switch the x10is into x10as? will i brick my cell?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I haven't done it myself, though it is mentioned often in this forum and nobody has bricked it by changing the name.

Maybe the battery overheats

hi sir i noticed it to the batt is kinda heatin up so do i need to replace my battery?
Any one could give me advise please
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
The phone usually reboots when it overheats too much,
It can be the battery, try calibrating it
Or try another rom
If it doesnt work replace the battery
Worst case scenario could be motherboard issues(not very common)
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
i was able to repalce my battery and its still doing the same thing however when i used my galaxy tab usb charger i dont experience this problemits seems its the chargerfault
Not to scare you out or anything but it might be an defective motherboard :/

Welcome Setup Screen

Hey folks. I'm having problems with not getting the setup welcome screen on factory reset. I have flashed countless roms over the past few weeks and never had a problem. It's ok when I flash custom roms but when I come to flash official rom on my sgs2 there's no welcome screen just goes straight to main screen. Please advise.
One more point us that this doesn't happen when I flash gingerbread official.

Thanks but that just reset my phone and formatted my sd cards. Still no sign of the welcome setup screen just boots and goes into main screen.
Still an issue
Try flashing a firmware with its stock rom..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Done that too. It only comes up when I load a custom rom, never official stock rom apart from official gingerbread. Bizarre I know
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Bizarre it is,
Using cwm format cache system data preboot
Wipe dalvik
Download stock ROM flash using Odin.
If still issues I'll be going crazy lol
Arrrgh the problem still persists. I'm beginning to wonder if this has something to do with the root directory.

Why is this so important?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
It's not overly important but it's bugging me. I generally know my way round Android but this has really stumped me. It's bothersome.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
The welcome-screen-intro-thingy is part of the Google apps package - if Google apps aren't installed you wont get it. Are Gapps installed on your rom? If yes, try re-installing them.
They are, I'm running stock but have rooted and installed them to check if I was missing something.
Sadly nothing solved. I'm giving up on this now.

korean to international

Hello there i was wondering is there any chance of changing the s3 korean firmware to european .
Next week i'm getting a korean s3 but i really want to change the firmware
Now I have a s2 that was 250s and then i changed it to i9100
Well i googled and searched in xda forums but i didn't found anything about it
Is it possible to change the firmware with flashing the korean kernel for it . Or the radio chip stuff is like mars and venus
No, because your phone doesn't have the same hardware with International one.

Yeah, just download an europian firmware from http://www.samfirmware.com by searching "I9300" and flash it with Odin. You need to sign up to download the firmware.

Sorry, messed up, if your model number isn't I9300 it will potentially brick it.

One more question it will be EMMC bug or just firmware bug?
M440S can ron i9300 roms and kernels.
Adding to above, M440S can flash I9300 Roms provided you convert the kernel. There is a Korean s3 user thread so look over the re

True . Still I bought gt-i9300 lol so that is not a problem anymore . I have a question again . What is the advantages of having branded s3 between unbranded s3
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Not much? If you're rooted anyway. Not gonna get updates early if you're branded. But custom roms sort that out.
No noticeable difference when it comes to actual usage

Again a personal question . I used CF-root for stock kernel on my gt-i9100 because syiah , philz seems to lag . Did on my i9300 too . I understand that they have more battery life , but overclocking them leads to fast battery drain , is that right? So i prefer staying stock. Well i don't play with my phone , i play with my gtab 7500 more
If you don't need the extra performance, no need to overclock. I did it for the heck of it then realised I don't actually need it so went back to stock. Overclocking does lead to faster drain but some kernels also provide under volt support so they kind of negate each other in terms of battery.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
So undervolting could save battery in theory? I heard it destroys the battery even the phone in whole .
Heard too much stories of dead phone because of undervolting and overclocking. Because of idiots putting overclocking and undervolting on maximum. But they just dont know what are they doing.
Thanks a lot . Sorry for so much bothering

Question again . If i undervolt my device should i do battery calibiration or just leave it?

Battery calibrates itself over a week or so .

no need to calibirate then thanks ! In mongolian phone shops we have a chinese battery with more mhA(like+300) and i have tested so far . The charging goes approximatly 6 hours when the original takes 4 can it damage phone particles . I have to assure undervolting goes without problem . From what volt should i start . I m asking because i work in mining geological team and the reason i bought this phone is the gps glonass
