I recently bought an HTC HD2 and updated the phone with the newest update:
OS Version
5.2.2191
Manila Version
2.5.2018
ROM Version
3.14.531.1
I just downloaded the CoOkie Home Tab Release 2.0 and it worked fine for a few hours, but now all my screen does is go into lock mode when I try to access the top part of the screen on my home tab. It also flashes on/off when it's in sleep mode at periodic times (no inbound calls/emails/texts).
I'm completely new to the HD2 so any assistance to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
When you pressed on the cab for installation, did you select to install it on internal memory or on SD?
It's better to select internal memory.
I saved it to the SD.....I also realized that I'm tied to a microsoft exchange server for my work emails.
So what are your suggestions?
uninstall and reinstall to my internal memory
or
Take away from connection to the microsoft exchange server

Remove it; and than reinstall it on internal memory.
Thank you!
Much appreciated!

I am struggling to get it to work as well (CHT 1.85 works fine for me)
but read the CHT2 page as I recall something about problems with Exchange ties.
so far so good...saved to device....exchange connection is running....
Just to let everybody know...
If you install things like CHT mod... i don't know... like icons, toolbars, keyboards and all other things that are system related... these ALL go to your phone. okay?
all other things like timers, emulators, reg editors whatever... go to your sd card since you want to save your lil space on your phone
Hello
I also have HTC HD2 T Mobile LEO, upgraded from T-Mobile web page and installed Cookies Hom Tab and CHT editor works fine, in my opinion if you set password for locking the device, this caused the problem that you complain,
1) Carry out hard reset
2) Do not set password the device
3) Re-load cookies home tab 2.0.0 and CHT editor 2.0.0
4) Carry out your setting from CHT editor
5) Sometime, needs to remove battery and wait few minutes and place
I hope, will work without problems
FYI: I tried more than 10 times, success
Good luck
My exchange server not working either. I did the previous, by uninstall and reinstall to phone memory and it still did not work. Any other suggestions.
It wont let me type in the domain line of what my work domain is?
if the domain-field isn't present, try to type following in username field: [email protected]
should work fine
other option is to configure your exchange and after that install CHT
If your Exchange uses Security Pin (4 Digit PinCode to unlock) not all Lockscreens will work ("HD2 mini" won't)
I tried the new username and that didn't work. I uninstalled CHT and still the exchange server did not work! I don't know what else to do? Anymore suggestions?
Thanks

I use the official Dopod ROM released on july 27. It does not have these problem that you described. I wonder if it is worthwhile for you to try out this ROM? It is fast and stable.
Does the dopod rom work on the Ameo I have just installed the AP Touch rom at the mo to see

If you've unlocked your device, yes any ROM built for Athena devices will work. Let us know how the AP Touch ROM goes for you as well. We're working on a release with fixes soon. Just a heads up. Meanwhile you can install the fix CABs from the corresponding thread. Take care!

I have a weird activesync issue. I use vista with wmdc 6.1. After synchronizing my X7500 (stock wm6 upgrade) and taking it out of the cradle, activesync on my X7500 does not seem to "release". The software hangs (which can be seen by the double arrow connection icon at the top, which should not be there anymore). I need to go into settings/memory to manually kill the program, which then is indeed reported as hanging.
I own more PDA's, also with WM6, and the X7500 is the only one with this behaviour.
Does anybody else have this, and maybe a hint to a solution?
Have you tried a soft reset?

ActiveSync issues
Hi,
I use the same configuration as you do (VISTA with WMDC 6.1 on HTC X7501 – WM6), I had quite few synchronisation issues and I learned that: REPLLOG.exe which is the WM6’ native sync file and CPROG.exe MUST be kept on (active) AT ALL TIMES. There are several programs out there (Magic Button, WisBar, Spb Pocket Plus, etc) which among other functions take over and truly CLOSE the applications when the OK, upper right button is pressed, rather than minimizing it as is set by default in WM6; IF this happens to REPLLOG.exe (active sync file) WM6 might (actually quite likely) loses the sync parameters, thus the active partnership, so next time when you connect the two it will ask you to reconfigure everything from the beginning.
One program which I really recommend buying is WisBar Advance which allows you to set exceptions: you set the OK button to truly close, with the exception of the 2 files I mentioned. Besides the little green, spinning, active sync symbol is kept hidden even though is hanging – nothing to be bothered about.
One other thing: I had to revert and come back to WMDC 6.0 as I had a very annoying sync problem with WMDC 6.1. As strange as it may seem this solved my issue: ActiveSync Support Code: 0x8503001C. If you happen to bump into it just remember the remedy.
I hope this helps.
Thanks, I will try this. I am actually using magic button. I'll remove it and see whether the problem goes away.
Update: issue does not go away after uninstalling magic button and soft resetting. Activesync still hangs.... and does not want to reconnect after this

Nacos,
I´m having since yesterday this strange and annoying "Support Code: 0x8503001C". I've tried everything until I found this post. The problem is that when I install WMDC 6.0 (from this source: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...EA-9DF9-4920-AF33-3A0E2E4E7BEB&displaylang=en ) my computer installs it, but immediately and without asking anything, installs the "update", so I end having the 6.1 version.
What should I do in this case?
Thanks.

you actually need to remove the Windows Mobile driver update and the windows mobile device center, both show up under the add/remove programs on your windows pc
I even went to the extent of finding the folder for windows mobile device profiles and it's program directory and removing them from the drive.
That finally sorted out the problem. but i can't recall off top of my head what the folder names was

Cyberjak,
Very interesting. I have already removed both the driver and device center through the add/remove programs, but can't find the profiles. There is a folder in Windows directory that is call "Windows mobile": it has, among other stuff, the setup.exe, wmdcBase and wmdsync; it also has a "wmupdate". You think is there?
Please, I really need some help here. Can't install WMDC 6.0 alone.
Thanks
Well I have had to do a hard reset and one flash in the last 2 weeks. I am beginning to lose my mind I guess.
The first time after I did the install. The phone works fine for a few days, then it Sloooooows down to a creeping level. It would freeze from time to time and would take forever to open a program. I thought PhotoContacts Pro 5 caused this. So I did a Flashed after the phone froze all the time on the Splash screen just about to load Windows. But after that I reinstalled all my programs and it worked fine for a few days then it went back to freezing again, taking an eternity to Open any program. And mark you, I did not install PhotoCOntacts this time. I did a hard reset and reinstalled everything again, and since yesterday, it's been doing the same thing again. My Ram is always free, like 10- 15 MB left when running. Coz I use one program at a time. So, please what could I be doing wrong? Am I skipping something. I never had this problem with dcd 3.0.4.
Any insight is highly appreciated.
Thank you
Can you list the programs you have installed? And what do you have built into ROM. did you use Kitchen or Prebuilt?
I used Pre-built
I have
Adobe Reader 2.0
Flash lite 2.1
Office Mobile 6.1
HTC Album
HTC Audio Manager
HTC Home Customizer
HTC Cube by Xplode
Extreme Text 1.2
Java Emulator
MemMaid 2.0
Microsoft One Note
PHM Registry Editor
FlashBundle for Youtube
TCMP player
Pocket Rar
PPC-6800
psShutXP
Resco Radio
Skyfire
Sprite Backup
TomTom Navigator
VoiceSpeed Dial
Skype for Windows Mobile
Slick IM
Sprint TV
Live Search
Google Maps
PdaNet
WMWifiRouter
Yahoo GO 3.0 Beta
sMMS
Sprint Home Screen Plugin
GPS toggle
HTC Task Manager
HTC Large Start Menu
HTC Large Taskbar
Nue Audio
Well that's it, I know it's a lot , but they all use to run in Harmony
With that big of a list, your best bet will probably be to load a few at a time, use it for a couple of days to see if the problem recurs, so you can narrow it down. There are some programs that don't play well with 6.1.
I also notice you say you have onenote listed. That is already included with msoffice apps in dcd's kitchen. Maybe installing on top has caused a problem with this or some other app?
Yup, limit down on the apps/util that always have a process running -- ie. HTC apps & the cube. Plus, a lot of your others often have a today item running, so close those down.
Most of us go after no less than 16-18 MB (or better) after a re-boot. With you at only 10-15MB free, you have plenty running that the rest of us choose to do without.

I have used most if not all of these apps except for PPC-6800 (not sure what it is) Hers the ones I had to cut out.
HTC Home - seemed no matter what version i used it ate speed and memory. I use the time/date format on the top bar and wisbar adds battery status. I use pocket weather with custom skin as thats primarily what i used the home plugin for.
HTC Taskmanager (X-Button) - phone ran much better without it, had better luck with wisbar lite of full.
Yahoo Go - I have never had this work well, on any phone...
HTC Cube - While it may not continuously eat ram, it does use 2 to 3 meg after you fist use it. I use the GL version and close it with task manager after using it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358102&highlight=cube
Voice Command - If it is the MS version it uses 1 to 2 meg and can lock up. Generally i don't have problems with it but it does consume ram.
One I see you don't have that caused me issues was Schap advanced config util. After i ran it i wouldn't be able to answer incoming calls among other issues.
Another question would be; are you syncing e-mail? how much and how many accounts? I have found if i sync less days it helped with stability(although its probably just me). I sync to an exchange server, gmail, and yahoo.
i've had a few issues with 3.1.2 that i didn't have with 3.0.4 either. Radio is still the same i had on both builds..i'm using 3.37 from Alltel's OEM Radio/Rom. I haven't quite researched how to update to Radio 3.39 from my SD, so that's why i'm still with 3.37.
My problems are these:
1) Anytime i'm in Roaming and get a call, a big screen comes up and says "Roaming Charges May apply". I've never had that before.
2) When i'm on the phone and someone calls in, the loud call waiting buzz comes up, but if i ignore it, and let the user leave a voicemail, it cuts my current call off. It seems to do it worse if/when they leave a voicemail.
3) When i'm on the phone i was under the impression that data was knocked off. I've never had this problem before, but now if i'm on the phone, my phone shuts off if/when an email comes in.
4) GPS isn't even close. when i flash back to 3.0.4 it's right on. For some reason with 3.1.2 it's 20-30 miles off. Really weird.
5) Weird again because this shouldn't be a Rom issue, but my signal is totally lower than it was with 3.0.4
no biggies, i can go back to 3.0.4 because it was very solid, but here are a few of my issues.
Thanx everyone
Edit:
I decided to wait a whole day and see, after carrying out all the advice I was given. Well the problem still persists and still takes long to open programs. I have decided to go back to 3.0.4. That was more stable for me. Hopefully it will let me downgrade.
I just released a new version of my PhoneLog application, it's a simple call log application that logs phone calls (missed and placed) to your calendar w/ duration of the call.
Requirements:
- .Net CF v3.5
Features:
- log missed calls to calendar
- log placed calls to calendar
- log incoming sms messages
Change Log:
v1.7 (Mar 18, 2009)
- added more stability to the background service
- background service uses fewer resources while running
- added option to flag calendar entries as private
v1.6.5 (Mar 16, 2009)
- fixed problem with the service not starting / stoping properly (never ending hourglass)
- fixed problem with sms message interceptor not forwarding messages to default messaging client (you may have to clean up registry w/ Clean Rules option located on the menu)
- added option to mark calendar entries as free, busy, etc.
- added option to the smartphone edition to use system time instead of network time
- added support for localization so you can change the text that appears on the calendar (see my web site for tutorial on how to do this)
v1.6.1 (Mar 12, 2009)
- fixed installer for non-English devices
- added more details to the calendar entry (call duration)
- created version for smartphone devices
v1.5 (Mar 09, 2009)
- added feature to log incoming sms messages
- added ability to assign calendar category to logged items
v1.4 (Mar 05, 2009)
- uses less memory
- more stable

Do you know about this one (maniac's smartjournal)?

It is not onboard, keeps your calendar clean and you have it in Outlook still (as part of the journal).

Looks interesting, but requires a desktop app to sync to the Outlook journal. I'm trying to setup something I can sync to my Google Calendar, but in way that'll keep my appointments and what not separate from the phone calls.....but so far the best I've gotten to work is assign calendar categories and using that info to filter the calendar.
odd i'm getting an unsuccessful install message when tryin to install this on my WIZARD with the last .net framework installed running winmo 6.1
Interesting idea.. i'd like to use such a thing as i need a lot of specific calls to be logged as appointments
i got it working i guess it didn't download all of the file
this is a pretty nice program thanks

how did you get your working, i still cant get mine
i redownloaded the program and then installed it seemed to work phone after that
I installed it and it seemed to be working fine...
Unfortunately once I restarted my ppc - it apparently hanged and I couldn't get to home screen! I de-installed it and ppc restarted ok. (well, I had to remove one file from the startup folder by hand!).
I'm not sure if this could be a compatibility issue with other tools installed but I would really love to see this issue resolved as this functionality seems very interesting, indeed.
Thanks.
Maybe a problem with non-English PPCs:
The startmenu shortcut was placed into \windows\startmenü\programme\programs\phonelog.ink
It should be only \windows\startmenü\programme\phonelog.ink
I use a german device.
edit: Can you change this into a service? Currently the options windows is running all the time and we have to remove it manually from the taskmanagers. Also in low memory situations a service will not be shut down by windows mobile.
oh i didn't think this was a service but death confirmed that it is a service
After looking into the windows starup: This IS a service.
The application runs as a service, but is launched by a shortcut in the startup folder.

What kind of device/rom are you running? I've personally use a Touch Diamond, but have tested it on a Sprint Touch Pro and have seen it prevent TF3D from launching properly. I have no clue what is going on but a quick soft reset fixed the problem. I have noticed that when you start/stop the service from the configuration GUI that it sometimes shows a never ending hourglass that will only go away if you launch another application....almost like the service is getting focus and getting caught in a loop, so I wonder if that is what causes TF3D to fail to launch...like it's waiting for the service exe to finish executing before allowing TF3D to load.
rrife, I've got an ASUS P552w (winmo 6.1 pro - Portuguese) and I'm running ThrottleLauncher 0.9.7. I had exactly the same behaviour you described: when I installed it showed a never ending hourglass that only went away when I launched another application. With the soft reset it never allowed TL to load. So I went to start menu and deinstalled it.
Could it have something to do with the startmenu placement as referred by LordDeath, since I have a Portuguese rom?
Thanks

Yeah I've gotten the never ending hourglass a couple times as well. I think it's how I'm launching the service exe, for some reason it's getting focus and not releasing it until you manually give focus to another application. It's not really a problem, just annoying. I did fix the installer so it'll work with non-English devices.
Thanks, rrife. I'll give it a try and feedback the results afterwards.
I did another re-install. I run PhoneLog GUI and hit start - it shows the never ending hourglass that only goes away when I launch another application. I select run on startup and soft reset. Again I can't get TL to load. I have to go to programs, run PhoneLog GUI and hit stop. This way TL now is able to load.
Any ideas!?! Thanks.
EDIT: I deinstalled again and I still get the error message (after softreset) from PhoneLogService.exe saying that it is not possible to open file 'PhoneLogService'.
Looks great ... trying now...
Would next version be able to change text for "PHONE CALL" which apears in the calendar in the end? I would like to change it to my language though.
Thank you

Sorry, guess I didn't think too much about non-English speaking people. I'll add some registry settings in the next release so you can change the text that is used on the calendar.
Hi,
I am having massive problems sync'ing my new Athena. I have Michy's 6.1 installed and after a hardreset, sync is possible on the first PC. When I try to sync with the next one (I use a home PC and my laptop), sync will fail and I get an error.
I am using Vista on both PC's and I searched the internet: seems to be a frequent issue. Last night I hard-resetted my Athena twice. It will fix it, but only on the first one or two sync's, then the errors are back.
I did run PSTscan.exe in the Office folder and I did delete the existing partnerships.
I tried Windows Mobile Device Center v6.0 and v6.1.
Can it be that hard for Microsoft to get their act together?
Does anyone have a suggestion that doesn't come with the usual hardreset?
Thanks,
vma
Spent the night around this and did the thing I didn't want to do... yet another hardreset.
Sync is working now and I believe the problem comes when one starts sync'ing with more than two PC's and eventually if one starts to give different names to the device.
The problem are the *.vol files in the root of the Athena, which you can't delete and somehow get messed up.
Better than a hardreset would be a way to delete those files, but I haven't found a way, as they are locked. I even tried to kill all running processes, but without any luck.
Cheers,
vma
