Anyone knows if a lockscreen works on this tablet with tnt lite? If so, can someone point me in a how to?
I had to download lockbot from the market to get a functioning lock screen. Any lock screen app would work most likely although some may be graphically off.
I used widget locker for 1.99 from the market on ntlite2.2. Worked perfect but I new run vegan tab and no longer need it
switch to vegan and don't look back !!
personally i don't even want a lock screen. its annoying to swipe that thing across the huge screen. but i can bypass that though by just pressing the menu button.
I suspect that the lock screen function is in the framework somewhere, and the TnT devs never added it.
I personally find it a distraction - it doesn't really do anything and it offers no security. I actually use "no lock" in the Market to rid myself of it in the VEGAn build.
Scary, but ok to each their own

screen lock issues
Hi, newbie here...just got my Gtab and am now running tnt lite 4.2. Really strange issue sometimes when screen is off it just comes back on without pressing any buttons. Not so much that big of issue as does not happen too often. Really need just a basic "slide to unlock" feature/app without all the other "bells and whistles"? Thanks to anyone that can help.
Screen lock widget
I just installled a screen lock widget and it works fine. Free app. Just search for screen lock widget on the market. Good Luck!

I played a bit with LockBot free and it works better if you use something like NoLock to turn off the phone's built-in lockscreen. I'm not using a security lock.
I like LockBot better from the few minutes I tried them out.
Edit: the free version of LockBot has no ads and has three lockscreens you can choose from. It also allows unlocking form the menu button. See attached images for Lockbot free lockscreens.
To choose a theme in the free version open Lockbot from the app tray. Tap My themes. Then hit the menu key and then playlist. In the free version you can pick from the three themes pictured in the attachments. The ones you select will rotate. Select only one if you want the same lockscreen each time.

That's my current setup. I changed the backgrounds for the lockscreens to pics of my 3 year old grand kids.
LockBot works with the PowerAmp lockscreen widget, except with the direct unlock setting in PowerAmp. So when I am running PowerAmp I have to unlock twice, which is how I had it setup with the stock lockscreen.
I have widgetlocker, but it irritates me how the first time I try to wake my phone up, the stock lock screen is there and the phone immediately shuts back off. I'll try nolock when I get home, thanks for the info!
Edit: Worked like a charm.

Hi,
Widget Locker is really good however the Home Screen bypasses the security. Howevr you must use the inbuilt lock for it to work. But note, if you have a widgetlocker background for example black then when you go to unlock it you will see your homescreen background which doesnt really fit in? if you know what i mean?
LockBot Pro was really good and my preferred choice however that too bypass security. Even though it has its own Inbuilt Lock. Pressing the Home gets rid of it...apparently it say's its fixed but you can still press the Home and you're in....
---
I downloaded Lock 2.0 which has a inbuilt Lock 4 Digit Pass. Which is what I want however I can't move the slider down. ?? the background pictures shows correctly but then the slider is like half way down the screen.. does anyone have a idea how this works??
Thanks
I didn't like NoLock because the volume and camera keys bring the phone back to life.
I found Screen Mode Widget Lite overcame that problem.

I've had the G-tab for two weeks and always use something for a while before I ask questions. It looks like at least one of the questions, icon spacing is answered elsewhere but since I am going to as a few questions I'll still include it here.
I'm using TNT-L 4.4 but guessing most of these are universal to Android.
1. The G-tab does lock after a while and I just slide the lock up and it unlocks but is there a place to tell it you want a password. Also when it boots up I'd like a password on it.
2. I know it does multi-tasking but when I am in certain apps, browser and others, I have to either back out of it, or hit the home and when I go back the app starts over again. I thought you could just slide from screen to screen.
3. On the home screen when I put icons on the home screen only four across and and three high. Should be able to get at least 6 or 7 wide and 4 or 5 high. What's up with that?? Can you set icon spacing on the home screen?
4. A lot of devices you can have information displayed when it is locked like your name/phone number in case it is lost/found they know who's it is. Anything to do that?
5. I've seen a number of posts about screen protectors and most are related to fingerprints. I'm mostly wanting to get rid of glare. What is the best Anti-glare screen protector?
6. Where can I get free chocolate? Always a good question.
Thanks.
p.s. This is a great resource!

TNT-L is based off the stock ROM, I do not believe setting a lock-screen code is available. Other ROMs may/may not offer this choice. CM7 and those built from the CM7 base do.
2. I know it does multi-tasking but when I am in certain apps, browser and others, I have to either back out of it, or hit the home and when I go back the app starts over again. I thought you could just slide from screen to screen.

No, no sliding from screen to screen as apps are designed to be inclusive to their own layout. Hold HOME to switch between apps. Don't press it, hold it....a screen will pop up with the last few used apps. Selecting it will take you right back to where you were in the app.

Not with the stock one. Launcher Pro, ADWLauncher, VTLLauncher will allow you to increase the columns and rows. I use an 8x8 grid that fits nicely without chopping off the text of the icons.

Yes, though off the top of my head I don't recall. Plenty of app/widgets that will overlay/use on top of the lockscreen.

This ought to be in the "Android Navigation 101" thread...it has been driving me nuts trying to figure it out. Thank you...
Regarding screen lock in TNT
I'm not sure if this will work in 4.4. I switched to Vegan a while back to get EAP functionality, so I haven't had to check. However, I did figure out how to do this a while back on TNTLite 5. It requires Launcher Pro (or a launcher with similar functionality).

Next question for a simp
What is the easiest way to get into the Sound applet without having to navigate through the settings menu? The volume control only brings up the Media Playing volume levels, and I'd like to be able to get into the Master and Notifications volumes quickly as well.
EDIT: set up a custom shortcut which gets to the general Sound Settings, but would still like a way to get directly to the volume applet.
It works in TNTL 4.4.0.
I just followed the instruction and was amazed.
Thank you!
I recently rooted my TB and installed the latest CM7 ROM. The only thing that bugs me about the ROM is that when I unlock it after being idle for a few minutes, it always returns to the last app or email or whatever was open before it locked. I would like it to always return to the Home Screen, or Desktop each time it is unlocked. So far, I have not been able to find any setting to make this happen. I was hoping someone might be able to give me a hand with it.
Thanks,
Mark
you could always just download "No Lock" from the market & just use the power on/off button to turn the screen on/off. then you wouldn't have to bother with the lock screen at all. i use that no matter if i'm on sense or aosp. always hated the lockscreen b.s.
Go into cm settings, lockscreen, style options, custom starter app. Set that to be the launcher of your default. Adw is the current defaulted launcher unless you have installed another 3rd party.

You can disable the lockscreen in the cm tablet tweaks settings. No need for 3rd party app.
Thanks for the replies guys. I was hoping to keep the unlock screen appearance the same, without adding more options. I like things to look clean and minimal. However, if it's not possible, then I'll just have to deal with it the way it is.
Thanks,
Mark
Did you ever find a solution?
I too am used to returning to the home screen when I turn my phone on, not the last app I used. Seems like it would be a simple setting...

I was wondering if we can get lock screen widgets on the LGOG. I've got Pandora and apparently they have lock screen controls but I can't seem to get them to show up on my lock screen. Also I've been seeing an app called Dashclock that seems pretty cool but I don't know if I can even use it. I have stock 4.1.2. I don't know enough about rooting to try it myself. Anyone know about this? Any comments are appreciated!

You could try Widgetlocker. Some apps like Amazon Mp3 offer lockscreen controls in the settings, but it is more of an overlay than actually being a part of the lockscreen. Dashclock is only compatible with 4.2 and above.
I posted this on the ZTE Community forums, and thought I'd add it here as well.
The notification bell on the lockscreen is a major annoyance for many of us. I was looking for some other way to manage this, but lockscreen widget apps don't work, and most lockscreen apps don't support the fingerprint reader, Smart Lock, or double tap to wake. After reading a lot of reviews, I'm cautiously optimistic about Next Lock Screen, an Android app by Microsoft, of all things! This app sort of runs "on top" of/with your built in lockscreen. It shows the notifications, right there, no bell, and it still works with the fingerprint reader and the double tap to wake feature on my ZTE Axon 7. It claims to still work with Smart Lock, but I haven't been able to try that yet.
Google Play Store Link: Next Lock Screen - Android Apps on Google Play
In the Next Lock Screen settings, set the "Screen Lock" option to "System" to keep your double tap to wake, fingerprint, PIN, etc. just as you already have them. If you do this, you will still get a glimpse of your old ZTE lockscreen now and then, when you try to go into the Next Lock Screen settings, and it shows you the ZTE screen and makes you fingerprint scan before changing settings.
The Next Lock Screen is not quite as fast as the ZTE Lockscreen, so you glimpse it briefly before your homescreen, when the device unlocks.
I like the app that you suggest, but is there a way to keep showing ZTE wallpapers? ZTEs setup keeps changing wallpapers everytime the screen wakes up. I kinda like the feature. I know the Next Lock Screen app has a similar feature with Bing wallpapers, but that is only once per day.
I've been using Next for the past week to get around the bell and it works quite well - especially with the fingerprint sensor. Very surprised that it took MS to make a very useful and intuitive lockscreen for Android. Of course, I'd rather have pure Android instead of an app work around.
That bell is truly a feature that i dont understand. So, si annoying and stupid.
Thanks for this but I'm gonna try the root way first
There's a way to remove it with root?

Basically any 3rd party lockscreen, like Next, AcDisplay, Ambient display, etc, will disable the stock lockscreen when the 3rd party app takes control. It's a work-around. People probably want some kind of interaction from the lockscreen anyway, and this is a way to get rid of the stupid bell and get that interactive display at the same time.
Edit: I missed the post before yours. I do hope that someone creates an option in settings on a future ROM to disable it directly though. After root and bootloader unlock of course.

or just shout about it loud enough at ZTEs, so that they will make it an optional feature in coming updates... there is a bunch of optimal features they should integrate:
- optional bell on lockscreen
- optional on-screen buttons (as chinese 6gb versions have already)
- optional black/dark theme (specially with that amoled display)
... will tell more when I got the phone :silly:
I kind of defeated the bell using Tasker to simulate a touch right where the bell is. Unfortunately it simulates a touch even when I use the finger print. Not really sure which is more annoying, the bell or having a touch in the upper left every time the screen comes on. That's how ****ing annoying this bell is.

How's that a root workaround? The method you described can be used without root as well and the problem with it is that it doesn't support the fingerprint scanner.
Does anyone have a stock android lockscreen app so I can install is as a system app and delete ZTE one? Thanks

Are you able to use fingerprint with NEXT and the stock lockscreen disabled? For some reason the only way I can use fingerprint is if I have both lockscreens enabled at the same time.

No, only with both on. It's slightly annoying, but less annoying than the bell.

Can someone please make an xposed mode or something similar for those who have root and would like to keep the stock lock screen? I imagine it's not that difficult of a task, but I have little to no skills when it comes to coding so can't make anything like that ? Thank you

Still, that was rather clever of you. :good:
I figured out how to have the bell auto open with Tasker. I uploaded the two profiles that are needed to do this. Probably not the most elegant Tasker work but meh it works. This works by simulating a touch where the bell is when you are on the lock screen but not when you use finger print unlock.
Looks like you need root for this.
To import: Save xmls to /sdcard/tasker/profiles
Load up tasker and long press profiles and hit "import".

This profile works without root to auto hit the bell and is much faster than my other one. You need tasker and autoinput.
