Been using this card in my phone for no problem since day one, now all of a sudden whenever I try and copy an mp3 from my PC in mass storage mode I get the "Error 0x80070057: The parameter is incorrect" and cant copy the file. Did some searching and people said formatting the card fixes that problem so I did so but that didnt fix the problem for me. Whats really weird is the fact that it only happens when trying to write mp3 files. I can move pictures and other files over with no problem. Any ideas on fixing this would be greatly appreciated.
I am having the same problem. I just flashed TW v5 and also the jk6 modem. I can copy to internal sd but the external I cannot copy any thing to. I get the same error message as you are getting. I have tried the two fixes that had been posted but neither one changed the situation. This has been an issue for me since i first flashed a Bionix rom. At first before this last rom the drives were reversed or seen as reversed which caused problems with recovery. I have no idea what is causing this or what the remedy is. Any and all help is warmly received and greatly appreciated.
My computer doesn't even see my phone
It would seem to have something to do with the phone itself. When I pop the card into a card reader it writes just fine
Fix found. Flashed this and all is well.

I tried the mounting fix and it did show the drives in the proper sequence but I still get the parameter error and am unable to write or copy to external sd card. Does not make any difference whether it is mp3 or zip files nothing will copy over. I am in Obsidian V5 and I really like the rom and I tried jk6 stock but had the same result. Any and all help and info is greatly appreciated and welcomed.
Edit: I do have one question if I format the external sd will that wipe everything off of it? ( I would imagine it would) Perhaps that is why I still cannot copy to external sd. I have never reformatted an sd card and I would really really be grateful if someone could give me guidance or directions on how to proceed with this.
flashing to the leaked stock jk6 fixes this for me. One guy suggested change usb setting to mediainstead of mass storage in order for it to work. Gl.

Remove the card from your phone and put it into a USB card reader on your PC/Mac. From there you should be able to copy all the data off of it. After backing up everything on the card either format the card in your phone or from your computer. See if that helps. I've run this fix on 3 different ROMs and it worked every time.

it says my sd card is blank and it doesnt seem like its mounting.... i took it out and formatted it to fat32 and its still saying blank sd card i did this a bunch of times..
If you formatted it, it is blank. What's the problem?
What does it say in settings/SD & phone storage? Have you tried formatting it there?
tried both put it in comp formatted it put it in phone formatted in there too says mount sd card like its not reading it
and it also said the blank thing when i had stuff on my sd card
so i guess im effed cuase i cant put anything on my sd card phone wont read it so i cant get back to stock...
Try formatting it on your computer or phone, put it back into your comp and put some files on it

i did and i even tried a diff sd card wont read that either
I'm new to this so someone please correct me if I'm wrong but you can download the stock Rom from your phone and use Rom manager to go to stock, there is 2.5g of space on phone
my problem and worry is i wanna get unrooted so i can call and this will prob be covered under warranty and i wont have to pay the rediculous deductable on insurance if i have to go another root...
and also you cant use rom manager unless sd card is mounted i tried and mine doesnt mount
So you have tried multiple SD cards in your phone and none of them work?
yes i have tried a couple and the thing pops up in notification bar blank sd card and in sd and phone storage it says mount it but doesnt work
Well if you have tried more than one, formatted and all, and it still doesn't work I would say that your card slot has obviously stopped working. There is no way to unroot without access to the SD card AFAIK.
well that just sucks guess im gonna have to break this thing to make an insurance claim there goes 90 bucks downt he effn drain
Before you take your phone back to Verizon, try connecting to the phone with adb. If you can cd to the sd card and ls the contents, you can push the RUU to the card and return to stock. I am currently trying to resolve the same problem where the SD card fails to mount on PC and suspect it might be related to root. I might end up returning it to stock to test my hypothesis if I can't find a solution in a few minutes; I'll post back with my results.
Okay, this may or may not be relevant to the original poster, but after more investigation, it appears that this issue might be related to some corruption of system files related to handshaking with Windows in Drive mode that occurred since rooting the device. Restoring the rooted system image resolved the problem. The issue was unrelated to kernels, though, since flashing the default kernel did not improve anything.
If you can access the SD card with ADB, your best bet is to restore your rooted stock backup or re-flash the stock image to see if that corrects your issues prior to returning your phone.

If the phone can't read the SD card it doesn't matter what he can get on it, the phone has to be able to read the sd card to flash anything.
If you have the proper images, they can be flashed using fastboot, which doesn't require an SD card.
Am i doing something stupid, I cant get the mp3's I have on my SD card to be seen in the Albums/Artists etc in the stock music player app.
I can see no option to "add" them into it.
They exist on the external SD card.
Not had this issue before.. anyone got any ideas?
Try to copy the files to your pc - and then format thd sd-card when it is in the phone. Copy the files back on the sd-card.
I have a similar problem on my SGS, and this method was the solution.

My first issue with Galaxy S II. Will have to try this, my 15GB of music on external sd is not recognised
Still, anybody found out why this is happening in the first place? The only thing I remember doing that had anything to do with sdcard was installing Multi Mount SD-Card widget in hopes that it would give me quick access to mounting sdcard as mass storage. Didn't work though, uninstalled it and now music not recognised. I can see it in file manager no problem,it's just media store that is not finding anything on external sd card
Thanks for any tips.
I should have replied back.
Doing exactly the recommended worked a treat.
Now any new files i add to the SD card work fine. It's odd why it didnt work from day one though, but it works now!

any tips on what might have caused it?
flashed new version 1.4 of Villain ROM, and again, SD card music not recognized. Anybody found out the reason for this?

I think the only plausible reason for this issue may be the file system that the ROM uses. After each time you change the ROM, try to make sure that you format the SD card to avoid problems like this in the future.
If it isn't about the file system, then I don't know, maybe the problem could be caused by the ROM itself, since it's "home-made", or some damaged components in the device. Anyway, I got this problem too and I have an original ROM, so I'll just try the formatting method.
same problem think it is different reason

I'm having a same issue here but noticed it involved more than this and it happened at a certain app install. Hope someone here will recognize something in this post and help me not have to re-install my entire stock ruu, starting over.
The stock music player quit finding the mp3's on ext_sd card. First noticed this, but the stock gallery will not find photos as well.
I used Twrp to do a factory reset and was installing files again (most of my favorite apk's are stored on ext_sd card) and had to start with ES File Manager. When I went to setup ES File Manager up it will also not log into my network! So, after a factory reset these three things are happening and all of this started after loading Sterickson's permission fixer. The one on the app store that has the badly drawn cd image as app icon. Is there anyway to fix this or do I have to go back to the stock rom install to fix what his permission fixer trashed?
HTC One sv BOOST running JB 4.2.2 unlocked/HTCDev, rooted/Chainfire SU & s-off/rumrunner.
Irritating to say the least.

Good morning,
Yesterday I flashed Dexter's ONE XXL rom which I like very much and can almost be used as a daily rom. Unfortunately the files that i stored on my external SD card didn't show up anymore. When I tried to reach the files with ES File Explorer , I couldn't find my SD card anymore, just an 'read only' file which was empty. In the storage options of the Flyer itself the card was not available as well. After that I decided to Flas back to Leedroid's Rom, since that was the last ROM with everything working, but unfortunately after Flashing this Rom , the problem was still there. When I use this card with a cardreader on my PC verything seems to be ok with the card and I can access all files
Is there maybe anyone who faced similar problems and knows a solution?
Thanks in advance for your help!
After trying to find a solution without any result , it seems however that when I boot into recovery, my Flyer can detect the files on my SD Card. Unfortunately when I try to mount my ext SD in recovery, it doesn't work. Seems that inside the Flyer's software something is broken with the result that it can not see the external SD at all.
I really hope that someone can help me with this problem
Found a solution
Moderators, please close this thread. The problem is solved. I just flashed a stock kernel and a stock ROM and all works great again
Ok for real, I know I'm not crazy. I've tested my SDcard on my tablet by checking md5 sums of rom zips from both internal storage and external sdcard and they match perfectly, everytime.
BUT when I transfer rom zips from my internal storage of the EVOLTE to the same external sdcard, I GET MISMATCHED MD5 SUMS EVERYTIME. Not only that, When I download rom zips to my external, I get the same problem.
Is this a common problem? (afaik it's not)
Is this a problem with my Evo or my sdcard? I don't think it's the latter since i tested it on my tablet with no issues.
Any help would be great! thanks in advance!
EDIT: I should add that when transferring from External to Internal, I do not get the MD5 mismatch
You might be right. I moved some of my pictures and they became corrupted when moved from internal to external

You guys should try formatting the card from the phone, that sometimes fixes the situation. Also, what kind of SD Card you have?
Warning: Please perform a backup of the card before doing so, you will loose all info on the card when formatting.
The worst part is downloading rom zips straight to microsd. The MD5's NEVER match. this was why i was having so much trouble with getting Charmeleon rom to boot!..
Can anyone else replicate this issue?

Ive reformatted both in my PC (full format and quick format) as well as on my phone, with two different SD cards. And corruption occurs on both cards.
I'm pretty sure it's not my sd cards. Like i said, I've transferred large rom zips from my internal storage of my Transformer tab to the two sdcards and in both instances, there was no corruption (md5's check). Apply the same tests to both cards on my LTE, however, resulted in mismatched md5's.
EDIT: I've also tried this test on Stock as well as custom roms. with stock kernel
Bump.
Has anyone else had trouble with file corruption? If not then I'll have to get a replacement. Which I would hate to do... Not for me per se, for sprint.

so finally bit the bullet and got a replacement. Rechecked files transferred and it turns out that it WAS my phone that was corrupting files that were transferred to the sd card.
So i guess i just had a faulty one =]
Need help/advice. I updated my phone with the newest Fresh Evo LTE 5.3.1 and the radio firmware. And after rebooting...noticed the Damaged Phone Storage notification. At first I thought it was no big deal cause it was the micro sd card. But then I found out it is the data/second partition on the internal phone storage. I tried to erase the phone storage...but that does not work. I am thinking of trying to restore back to stock and hoping the stock image restores the second partition.
Do you know what might of happened? And any options on trying to fix this problem?
You most likely need to reformat it. Best method so far seems to be booting into twrp and mounting the internal sd to PC and formatting it. Unless there's another cause, I don't know of any issues so it would help to wait for someone who has has to deal with anything similar before taking my advice

Thanks that worked...mounting to my PC in TWRP and formatting. Lost all my pictures and videos...will teach me for not syncing to one of those cloud storage services
Just make it a habit to back up your cards. Its always a good habit to back everything up
this just happened to me after a hard reset...can you show the exact steps i cant seem to figure out how to mount this?
Reboot to TWRP and look for mount, make sure it's set to internal and mount storage, in Windows a dialog should pop up saying that the card needs to be formatted
my phone is samsung a9 . ihave found that my phone storage is reduced from 127 gb to 7.95 gb and my sd card got damaged what can i do for this
