NOOB WARNING: Only flash this if you have nandroid backup experience using custom recovery and have flashed roms before!
This ROM is a repackaging of CyanogenMod-5 for Nexus One (STABLE) [03/23/2010 / 5.0.5.3]. Basically... I've added in the working MOTO "Exchange Calendar" and "Global Address List" APKs for those who need Exchange ActiveSync with calendar and corporate directory (does not sync Outlook tasks).
Do thank Cyanogen and buy him a beer since this ROM is completely his work along with all others credited on his blog!
For info on CyanogenMod ROM please check the above links with lists of specs and features. I'm just a smartphone business-poweruser needing MS Exchange corporate mail plus corporate calendar and thought I'd share my paste-n-bake of CM for those who might care to see if it works for them.
The reason for this is so I might get a chance to pickup a skill or two and I am just starting to learn the basics of using the dsixda kitchen and have just starting reading up on java programming. so, I am sure that many of your questions will surpass my ability to answer them intelligently (if at all). Be gentle
Please support XDA and the individual developers by donating!!!
Changes to CM:
Replaced the cyan colored Nexus boot animation with original full color Nexus boot animation.
Added MotoCAL
Added MotoGAL
Added Logger (noob friendly logcat app)
Added WiFi Tether
Google Apps version combines both CyanogenMod and his separate Google Apps update.zip into a single rom plus the above and these apps and widget:
AccuWeather Widget
Astrid Task/ToDo
Astro File Manager
Quickboot (utility app reboots direct to recovery)
SpeedTest (3G download/upload monitor)

try system/app. adb push there. that worked for me on cm505. not sure about 5051 or 5052 or 5053 since i skipped xxx1 and xxx2... and have used my rom from xxx3. in this rom the apks are in system.
thanks. this is exactly what I'm looking for. thanks for sharing your hard working to us. although i believe it should come from stock build, like what iphone & Windows phone can do.

adb push MotoCAL.apk /system/app worked for me, but I get the same error as the standard exchange sync app.
Code:

Nothing to do with pushing the apk file. Sounds like you have Exchange 2007 and your administrator does not allow unprovisionable devices. See if you can talk him/her/them into changing that.

sorry to hear that. if both the apks installed and you can actually run the apps with no fcs, then you may want to check with your system admin at work to check your user exchange account settings for mobile activesync. ...but you probably already know that. when setting up your work email did you check both ssl and accept all certs?
good luck searching xda for solution and consider reporting back solution if found.

Exchange Contacts not Syncing
Sorry for the bother. I used this as my first ROM on my new Nexus One mainly because I wanted to get the Exchange Calendar Syncing. I went through all of the steps that I have found elsewhere and successfully installed your modification. The problem that I am having is that even though the phone says it is and has synced the Exchange Contacts nothing appears in the contact list. I have tried all of the options for displaying contacts, that I can find in the phone but nothing seams to help. The strange thing is that I can add a contact in the phone and it will appear in Outlook.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in Advance
Didn't work for me ! but ... looking into old stuff I found some old HTC Hero .apk for exchange apps .. If this works , ill post them here ...

Something that took me awhile to setup for my boss (I'm the IT admin for a business) is to make sure that you're not using Personal Folders for the location to save your e-mail, contacts, calender events, etc to and switch it to Mailbox - "your name" in the Mail preferences in Control Panel if it isn't already set that way. If it's set to Personal Folders, your info is only residing on the server for a moment and then getting saved to your local computer. If that isn't the solution, next to to check the Event Manager / Exchange Manager on your Exchange server and see if it's even making a connection.

That is all setup correctly and did work on the stock ROM. I used the Logger this ROM included and found the following Error Message:
E/Contacts(###### ######)(352): Uncaught exception in EasSyncServicejava.lang ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
The ####s are the name I chose for the Exchange sync account.

good luck following chesh420's suggestion below. can you tell us if your exchange calendar is activesync-ing ok? ...and...can you access your exchange global address list using the "corporate directory" app? i hope the rom works ok for you ...that is why i'm asking
btw... spend a few bucks in the market and buy "pure calendar widget" since it is a clean tool to display the combined appointments of exchange calendars, google calendar, and astrid to-do tasks in a variety of widget sizes and skins.

Any chance of getting google calendar loaded and working on manual nootered 1.2?
Any other apps that will sync?
Thanks.
Both Calengoo and Business Calendar sync nicely. Bus. Cal. was Amazon's free app a couple of days ago - I like it for its Widgets.

From 1.2 Nook Color
Business calendar free shows no calendars to select. Don't want to spend the money to see if calengoo works.
Anyone have calengoo working on nootered 1.2?
You need to have gapPS installed or you winner have the calendar sync file
From 1.2 Nook Color
So excuse me if this is a lame question but is the gapPS file safe to load on a ManualNooter NC with 1.2.0?
I posted this the other day in the "General" forum,
"I did do a search for this issue and there are other folks having this issue in the Development Forum, but I can't post on that forum. Used ManualNooter 4.4.27 for 1.2.0 (worked great by the way! Thanks). I can not figure out how to get my google calendar to sync. I have tried the "add account" again procedure, didn't work. Won't accept a dup. account (never had that popup before). I have tried deleting my gmail acct in the new NC stock email app. and that didn't help. Went in to Nook Color Tools, to Manage Apps and cleared defaults and data, didn't help. Anyone have any idea? Oh yeah when I go to gmail, accounts, account settings and click settings for gmail, under Data & synchronization, syn calendar is not listed. Thanks!"
I haven't gotten a fix for this problem yet. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
I found my solution using:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910008
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11982209&postcount=702
GalenGoo works great
Just loaded it onto our nookcolor. Great improvement over Jorte.
For more info go to calengoo.dgunia.de/Start.html (It's for the iPhone version but is the same on Android).

No, you must manually copy or push the individual files over to the system /app folder.
From 1.2 Nook Color
Do you know where I can get the needed files?
Also Calengoo works, thanks, but I'd like to see my google calendar sync working as usual through the system software.
Thanks, CalenGoo works, seems to be a good app.

-From Adam Firmware 1.5, software version 0.9-
So just tried the new Adam email client on my Nook running Honeycomb and it worked fine. A lot of the bugs from the first version have been sorted out - it now links to your contacts and seems to download files.
Just place the apk in your system//app directory
I will test out the other programs, but so far:
- the calendar seems to still force close when adding a new appointment.
Finally! Installs fine and runs on decent speed on CM7. This could be the email app I've been waiting for

Hey smiley,
Possibly my labling. This email is from Firmware for adam 1.5. They have updated the app, but the version still appears to be 0.9! You should see a massive improvement in its performance.
Michael
How do U install it guys?Dont U have system replace error?
Kind like the old icon better, is there a way to get the icon back. Updated from Phiremod 6.3.
It works for me. v0.9
Like dsf3g asked. Any ideas on how to set up Yahoo or Hotmail?
Also, how can you delete an account from the app, because i now get mail from both this and the Gmail app.
Don't want to uninstall the Gmail app but i just might have to.

Under the main Settings for the Nook, in Accounts & Sync, disable Gmail sync. That'll let you use this app instead of Gmail without having to uninstall anything.
Not sure how to remove an account from Mail'd though. Hope that helps.

Much better IMO. The Gmail app I find looks too cluttered, and because this has a metro layout it works and looks much better.
Awesome! This version seems much cleaner than the old version.
Why does it look the same to me concerning the look?
Sent from Nook Color on Phiremod 6.3 @1.3Ghz
this won't load up my exchange account.. i really wish it did though.
it consistently makes me fill out outgoing, SMTP info which... there is no smtp with exchange.
woof
Jewnersey,
make the smtp server the same as the incoming server. At least that's what worked for me.
I have an Exchange account setup on my phone (Samsung Vibrant, running Project-V, 2.2 ROM).
Is there some way to prevent it from syncing email? I only want the calendar to sync, but I can't find an option to disable email syncing. Any apps that can help me accomplish this?
Not positive just an idea, if you go under accounts and sync, click on the account, there maybe, like the google options, check boxes where you can check what you want to sync. I will do a little research, if that doesn't work see if I can find more.
Edit: another idea, go to the update schedule, and choose update manually?
Thanks button always appreciated!

Hi,
I'm not into the samsung S Planner as I'm having trouble syncing my calendar events. I want to replace it with the AOSP google calendar but not 100% sure how to do it!
I have removed SecCalendar.apk and SecCalendarPrivider.apk from /system/apps and replaced with Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk from CM9. Not working though!
Can someone please tell me the steps I need to do?
Cheers
EDIT: I should add that I have a calendar app in the app draw that opens and works - I just can't get it to sync with google.
Surely someone can help with this?
Did you make sure to change permissions and reboot?
I think from memory its -rw -r -r

Make a backup, do a full wipe - see whether that works. I have replaced my calendar (and more) in exactly that way and works fine.
Do what I did.
Download Android 4 ICS Calendar from the Google Play Works for me!
Good luck
Thanks for your suggestions - Unfortunately I still can't get it to work!
I tried changing the permissions and even changing the .apk name to match the original SecCalendar. Calendar works but it won't sync.
Is there another .apk that I need to swap as well?
S Planner is just a tweeked Calendar ap. If syncing was working to start with, it's not going to work by changing the app you use to view with.
Have you checked your sync settings are correct/enabled, that the calendar is fine on other devices.
My gCals all pulled through and work fine with S Planner.

Calendar does sync with S Planner - it's just that for some reason some events don'y sync with it that sync properly on google calendar on CM9.
