How do I enable OCLF 2.2?
I'm running a Onyx (Froyo JK2) and want to use OCLF but it seems to be disabled.
Specifically, it says "You do not have a /system/bin/playlogos1" file.
How should I go about enabling the lagfix without bricking my phone or requiring ODIN?
Press Restore boot animation then apply the lag fix
Runnin nero+dow+oclf
Ok. Started installing. Stopped with an error. Can't mount loop. . . Sigh
Go to settings then application and manage applications then go to the sd tab and move them to internal storage

I am starting a new thread here since I did not got any mention of the problem that I am facing right now. Please help.
My device was on stock 2.2.2 ROM until I upgraded it to the 407 ROM sometime back. It was working smoothly till yesterday before I tried to root it. After installing the streakmod, I booted the device in recovery mode to apply the update of superuser.zip. However, though I am able to see superuser icon in my menu still Busy box Installer tells me that the root user rights cann't be acquired.
This was just the tip of the problem.
Now when I restarted my device, the Dell logo is coming up. However after sometime, a message is getting flashed saying that
"File system check returned status 2048. ( I dont remember exactly what file was mentioned but it was pointing to system directory. ) Please send this unit to the software development for debugging. Formatting your device".
After that I again flashed the 407 recovery and the respective package in the device. However, the problem still persists and the same message appears after 2-3 reboots. Even the stock browser is throwing up an exception and Wifi option says Error beneath it.
Before I flashed the stock 2.2.2 ROM, I had the following config for the phone -
Android version - 2.2.2
Baseband version - GAUSB1A134700-US
Kernel version - 2.6.32.9-perf
OEM Version -GAUSB1A134700
Build number - 15274
Please help. I am very much in love with this device and dont want to switch to some other phone.
Sounds like it coukd be your internal sd ard has gone bad, i was also getting the same message and my device formatting so i swapped it for a 2gb sdhc its been fine ever since

Hi andy,
Thanks for the information. But I believe that the internal SD card is not user replacable. Is it?? How much effort it required on your end ?
Yes mate it is replaceable, theres two ways to get T it, 1 is to remove the lcd from the phone second is to cut away the plastic inside the phone battery bay to get at it, i chose to open mine as i didnt wanna start cuttin plastic, it is really easy to do you can replace it with upto a 4gb, anything higher and you have to edit files etc, i put in a 2gb sdhc been fine ever since, plus the phone will automatically format for you,

Cutting the plastic is an easy job and only takes a few minutes. The upside to this method is that it the inner SD card is accessible and it only has to done once. If you have any warranty left you void that. You could even remove it and make a backuo image periodically.
I replaced mine with an 8GB, class 10 card and the phone formatted it for me. There is more info here and here.
The system files are needed if you want to use the space for other than what the system uses it for. More info on using the internal SD for other purposes here and here. In my case I ended up with over 6 GB of system space to install apps. I can keep all of my apps on the inner SD Card.
Aah thanks for that marvin, i didnt realise that, now i know that im gonna upgrade mine

I had lots of problems with mine to i think it`s the 347 base band i read every post and downloaded DSC and it works great read all there post there is a guide to follow you will have 407 running in no time REMEMBER TO READ
One thought here for the OP: why not upgrade to 360 first before trying to upgrade to 407? That might solve your issues. I can't verify whether it would work or not, since I never used the official ROM to upgrade. I upgraded the baseband the hard way and use a custom ROM.
I don't remember how off hand, but isn't there a simple procedure to test your SD card first to see if that is in fact the problem?

It's been posted many times. Info in this link.
My internal was gone bad too and crashed 4 times in 2 months. after functioning very well for the first 2 months. It appeared a read write block error on the internal SD repeating the error 4 times proved the defect.
I replaced mine without real trouble with a 8 Gb SD class 10.
just removed the old one and replaced with the new one.
mind you i tried several cards and not all were installed properly.
Now i have a huge 6 Gb for my apps and no need for App2SD or Link2SD anymore. can swap any external SD without problems for any apps that way. everything is now installed internal including maps of 6 countries for europe.
On youtube you'll find a lot of movies how to dis assemble and reassemble the Dell Streak 5.
Grts
Ted.
Please correct me if I am wrong. All the applications get installed to the internal memory by default. I don't face issues when I keep them that way. When I acutally try to move the apps to SD, sometimes the move does not happens on first attempt. Sometimes it does. I think that's where the problem lies. Is it possible that due to a corrupt external card, the streak is getting checksum error and formatted on restart?
That.s a good guess if you can repeat it afew times it has some bad blocks when software is bad removing and installing wil not solve that. It only took me as many as 4 times to be certen about it.
No genius needed for that.
I had 230+ aps installed and som other data I always wanted to have so internal is my choice. General I used 2.5 Gb .

The dev can set it up so that the app is installed to the SD card. Few apps do this, but not every app defaults to internal storage.

Alright !!
In the mean time my internal SD contains 333 aps now including 7 country map data of europe stored. My external is free for any use. Very cool when mounted by PC and no broken apps.
This streak is so cool now and despite the fact that it is an older device it still can compete very well.
The only disadvantidge is the longer boot and long refreshing the app list in the app drawer after first boot and backup apps.
Just my 2ct

UPDATE: i have been using he card now for some time but experience some systeem freezes, nog fatal but for a few sec andere up. I am ging to install he Same brand 4Gb card class 10 and that should be more than sufficient for my needs. Internal up to 16 GB is not an option i guess. IT would be even worse i guess.
Hi all,
Like all others I was very anxious to upgrade my Galaxy SII to the new Android ICS so I downloaded the firmware that was released a few days ago (the Hungarian version) and used Odin to flash my mobile.
First Odin failed to complete the operation, after some search I tried to specify the PDA only in Odin (I haven't specified the Phone or CSC) it gave me then PASS and when I start my mobile it launches and starts to install applications but stucks on this screen.
The phone can make and receive calls, and everything works properly but this screen does not fade out.
Now I downgraded to the 2.3.5 version.
Please can anyone help me I would be very grateful.
Thanx in advance.

I, had the same problem today while installing new android OS. All went ok and then the, after boot, stuck on "Installing Applications".
I've search the internet and nothing could be found. After some trying I solve it, for me it was a matter of disk space. I had space on disk to install the new OS but not to install the applications by default afterwards.
Uninstalling something did the trick to me. Try it.
Hope it helps.

Hi,
I've just got the same problem, did the uninstall of some apps, but had to figure out how to do it. Here how I did to help others:
- Restart phone
- on the lock screen, instead of swiping and getting stuck in "installing applications", just drop down notifications
- on notifications menu, tap where it should say "low on disk space". It will open "Applications" from the setting menu.
- Uninstall some apps until you get around "250MB" from the 2GB reserved by the system (250MB was what worked for me, that's the reason of the number; I had lower than 200MB before). I tried to move apps to SD Card to no avail, that's why I uninstalled the apps.
Hope this helps.

Not only will My Galaxy S2 not let me install new apps (trying to install VX Connectbot at a little over 800K) although it has 1.97 GB of internal storage space free, it won't let me update four apps either. They were sitting there trying to update for about half an hour before I gave up.
There's nothing wrong with the (Wifi) Internet Connection, as proved by other apps on the phone as well as by the Google Play Store updater.
If I go into Settings, Apps to look at the Play Store entry, it never finishes updating the Cache and Data storage figures, so the 'Clear Data' button is greyed out. If it wasn't I could clear the data and force the app to re-download it from Google's server. I've also tried rebooting but this makes no difference.
I really don't want to have to do a factory reset to fix this so I'd be grateful for any ideas. The phone is running stock Jelly Bean supplied by Samsung.

I don't think Stock JB is rolled out yet by Samsung. But anyways try to clear cache and dalvik cache from recovery. This mostly resolves issues in any ROM.
Secondly, what are you referring to when you mention internal storage? If it's data partition then 1.97 is total size and not free. So please check that.
Lastly what ROM are you coming from? If its ICS then a factory reset is strongly recommended.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm trying to handle a million things at the same time, which is always when something else goes wrong. It is, of course, running ICS 4.0.4. I thought about clearing the cache via recovery and I'll do that if I don't find another solution. The phone won't be out of action for too long.

It was running Gingerbread when I got it but I did the factory reset before doing an OTA update to ICS.
No issues
Since you are now on 4.0.4 do not do a factory reset since your kernel might have the Brick bug.
There are threads that provide steps on re flashing ROM over 4.0.4. You will need to first flash a custom kernel that does not have this bug like Siyah or cf-root and then flash a ROM.
Just ensure that you follow the steps properly to get a clean install.

I powered down and booted into Recovery, wiped the cache, and rebooted. It only took about 40 seconds to reboot which seems strange to me as under 2.2 and, I think, 2.3, it took a few minutes to rebuild the cache. Then the first thing that happens on keying in my pin and reaching the home page, I get the message, "Unfortunately, eBay has stopped." Maybe this has something to do with the problem, maybe it doesn't.
One other thing I noticed earlier but didn't mention as it didn't seem relevant is that some apps have changed their name in Settings, Applications. For example, Picshop Lite is now listed as air.ca.esdot.PicShop.Lite.
Anyway, it has made no difference. I look at any app in the list and it sits there saying "Computing...". I can force-stop running apps but I can't install apps, uninstall apps, or update apps. I'm going to leave this overnight (it's late here) and if I can't think of anything else before tomorrow I'll have to do a factory reset and reinstall everything.
Thanks, acekay, your post appeared while I was still editing mine. I knew absolutely nothing about this bug so you might have saved me from bricking the phone. The page you linked to mentions CWM. Since mine is a Samsung stock ROM it would be the stock recovery I'd be using. Is this likely to brick the phone? I guess it's better to be on the safe side and follow the instructions.
I'm also wondering about my legal position here. I got the phone from Virgin Mobile (UK) on a monthly plan. It was running Gingerbread before I did the OTA update to ICS and the update went OK. If the phone messes up and I do a factory reset and that bricks the phone, who is responsible, I wonder, Virgin Mobile or Samsung...
It took some lateral thinking but I think I've solved it. I powered down the phone, took out the micro-SD card, and powered up again. I went into Settings, Applications, Google Play Store and cleared the Data. I then ran the Play Store app and ran the four updates that were pending and everything went OK, so I tried installing VX Connectbot and that went OK, too, as did uninstalling the original Connectbot. As a precaution I uninstalled the eBay app just in case that was causing the problem. It's possible that somehow the eBay app got installed onto the SD card in error and that might have something to do with it stopping with an error every time I rebooted the phone.
I've noticed that the names in Settings, Applications are all now back to normal so I'm guessing that in fact it was something in Play Store's data that was messed up. Of course, that might have been caused by the eBay app. <Sarah Connor> God, a person could go crazy thinking about this. </Sarah Connor>
Anyway, thanks again, acekay. Working through my problem and your responses led to a solution.
Good to know its solved. So the issue was with moving the apps to SD . Better still that you tried this before a reset.
In case you plan on playing with custom ROMs in future just keep this bug in mind. Better to be cautious than sorry.
Cheers...

Well, I can't be sure. I'm nowhere near needing to move apps to the card yet, and since I've uninstalled the eBay app I've no way of knowing if that's where it was. Or if it was causing the problem. But I do know that I won't be staying on ICS forever. If Samsung ever get round to giving us JB, I'll update to that. If they don't I'll look for a non-stock (and non-Touchwiz, thankfully) ROM. So thanks for telling me about the bug.
Same problem with SGS2 4.1.2, stock rooted rom. No external SD card.
I noticed one thing. When I do the following:
Settings->Application manager->All
it displays about 200M free and 1.7GB used, but after few seconds it changes to about 450M free and 1.5G used.
At the same time it (long pressing home button and select memory usage->storage) shows 1.77GB/1.97GB free memory of system storage. So only about 200M is free. The same result is obtained in Teminal Emulator by inputting DF command. So it is very strange that in Application manager the free system memory is increased from 200M to 450M but in terminal and memory manager system manager is constant 200M.
So what the algorithm to solve the problem of install or update apps from market?

Try clearing cache using some application like ES Task Manager, I had useless cache data of about 400Mb once and the biggest contributor was chrome at 100Mb.. And try using apps like SD Maid which will help you clean out clutter.

Hi everyone,
Since two days there is a really strange issue going on with my dell streak when ever i am trying to edit any contact or view them the "Sorry! the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and only option of Force close is provided this begun while i had PCM7 on my DS5 however i exactly dunno the root cause....the things which i have done in the last week was...i had formatted my SD card with ntfs as i had to transfer files more then 4 Gb by connecting my phone with lappy with enabled usb debugging but later it came to my notice that DS5 galary or the 3D galary coming with the ROM aint support the ntfs file system as it wasnt pullin up any images infact it was saying "No memory card inserted"
hence, after which i again reformatted my sd card to FAT32 and copied down all the data as it was originally and later on when i tired editing any contact or for the fact opening certain contacts this error message comes up.I thought its sum conflict with the ROM thus reverted back to Longhorn 2.9.3 final and yet the issue persists.
As i checked on xda forum and other forums too...have tried clearing the contact data, the contact storage data and also the Google service framework data after which i rebooted the device and yet the issue still persists.Basically now if i try creating, editing, viewing contacts this error message pops up.
Please can anyone gemme a helping hand in this issue.

Amer.

Resolved...!
Hi Folks,
I come bearing good news...the issue is resolved...This morning i decided to reflash the Longhorn 2.9.3 ROM but before which i wanted to try sumthing.....i Booted into the streakMod menu and wipe data/factory reset from that menu and then let the device reboot then i booted into dell recovery menu and did a Dell factory reset and then reinstalled all the apps so far i have funneled down to the resolutions that the whats app version 3.1.36(669520-74) is causing the android.process.acore to crash.Once i installed the application from google play store the issue seems to be resolved.
This helped for me.....and also a issue with the LED notifications of longhorn 2.9.3 final just through root browser go into /system/etc/init.streak.post_boot.sh and view the file in the RB Text Editor.
After the file opens just save it....without making any changes as the # wouldnt be present in the led notification lines and reboot....the notification would be working .
Hope it helps and your doing it on your own risk.
Thank you to arryhariyadi and deysmacro for your valued time and advices really appreciate it.
Regards,
Amer
I had this error as well on Longhorn and unfortunately I was messing about with clearing the data of contacts, google play services, deleting contacts.db file it just made things worse.
Had to do a complete wipe and reflash and it seems to be fine now on DSC 2.3.
