Internal storage messed up - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I just applied the stock 2.2 ROM, and now mounting doesn't work properly.
I can't seem to mount at all in Windows, but I can mount in OS X.
Once in the directory in OS X, I can delete some files, but not others. Transferring some files fails as well. This usually results in Finder hanging and having to restart (never had to restart my Mac due to freezing before, ever!)
I also can't mount usb storage through recovery mode, my computer doesn't detect anything. And I can't go to "mouse sd-ext" in the recovery mode menu.
Any help appreciated.
EDIT: I get an error that the drive is too full when I try put anything on it.
EDIT: I've also tried multiple methods of formatting the memory, but it has no effect and the files remain.
EDIT AND FIX: Managed to format it in Disk Utility. Works now.

Stuck with CWM, Using adb to push.

Previously I have used adb to push files onto my internal sdcard, to then flash the phone.
In these instances I've pushed to /data/media, loaded up CWM, choose zip from internal. File is there, flash.
All very easy.
This time around, Ive run Super Wipe, pushed the new rom to /data/media.
But when i go to 'choose zip from internal sdcard', I get 'Couldn't open directory', 'No files found'
I even tested before I wiped, and pushing to /data/media worked, and they were found in CWM afterwards at root.
Any ideas? I dont have an external sdcard right now annoyingly, so adb pushing is my only idea Ive had.
It seems to not pick up its own root directory; always saying 'couldn't open directory', with or without data being mounted.
Cheers in advance! Soft brick for now, ouch
EDIT: Internal SDcard isn't being mounted when using the phone. Im running stock firmware, and I cant even install apps because they cant create folders. Messaging doesn't work, becuase it cant save the messages. Its like the internal sdcard has disconnected from the phone...
When hooked up to the PC, the phone storage is blank, and when I try to put files into it, it stays on 0%
My internal storage is non-responsive.

[HELP] Can't mound /emmc in Philz recovery

SOLVED! See 2nd Post
Hi,
Galaxy S II 16GB 2.5 Years old.
I friend came to me with a problem : Waze can't start because it complains no access to sdcard (internal, no external present)
A bit fiddling and I see /storage/sdcard0 is mounted as RO!
I remount as RW, and I can now start waze, but as soon as I use the phone further, the mount reverts to RO.
I try to format it via recovery (philz) but it fails deleted odd named files in DCIM/Camera/cache.
So I try to delete the files myself but it fails.
Next up, I mount usb storage in recovery, and run windows Checkdisk, it finishes while fixing some stuff, the format still doesn't work.
Eventually using Minitool I am able to format it. BUT, now, when I boot android, it says the internal storage is damange, and attempt to format it via Android fails always.
Still, when I boot into philz, and mount usb storage, i can browse it via my W7 PC, copy and delete files freely. So I guess something is not mounted or formatted correctly. I decide to reinstall stock rom with Odin + repartition.
So I take pit file from a thread that aims to increase /data at the expense of internal storage, and I find the stock pit there and use it.
Rom flashes fully, but sdcard still not working.
What I want to do is :
Boot into Recovery and use Android commands to properly mount/map this so the phone recognizes it.
I have linux knowledge, I know how to get around a linux shell and use VI and permissions etc. I also messed sometimes with fstab on a pc to set up mount points, so I am not a complete stranger. I am rooted and need help
Any help would be appreciated.
So, I searched the net for quite a few hours, and found this post :
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2147315&p=-1&#bottom
Which solved my problem
I registered on that forum to thank the dude!
This command solve my problem :
newfs_msdos /dev/block/vold/259:3
I knew it will work the moment I saw the 259:3 which I saw in logcat that android cannot format.
Good work finding a fix yourself Hopefully other people in the same situation will find it useful

TWRP accidentally format Internal Storage - Recovery??

Hi All,
Maybe a bit of a stupid question but accidentally change the format of my internal storage and have wiped my TWRP backup that I was trying to save.
Was meant to format my SD card so I could read it on my PC, as my phone was stuck on a boot loop from installing dorimanx kernel, was working for a little bit but the phone became extremely sluggish and then one one reboot would not get pasted the kernel splash page.
So decided to go backup the phone copy to pc them wipe and start clean. With the fun of this twrp was not showing mtp and could not read any mounted storage due to the format type decided to go a format my sd card to fat but accidentally done internal rather than external, I was falling asleep but want to try and fix this before going to bed.
Now that has happen I have mount the fat internal drive and trying to use some HDD recovery program but not sure how this will end up working, fingers cross I can get the TWRP backup.
But if anyone has any advised would greatly appreciate the help.
Dorimax kernel with twrp iso recovery, can't mount mtp or usb! flash iso rec disabler, then mount your usb partition with cwm recovery from dorimax! after that, try recuva! it will make a clone of your internal memory on hdd to access data faster! otherwise the deep scan will be very slow! try other programs! you will find your files with some programs and other files with another programs.

Internal Storage not Mounted/Visible in LineageOS 14.1

Hi all,
After setting up Lineage OS 14.1 on my Galaxy S4 (I9505), I noticed that the camera app asked me to insert an SD card to continue, thinking this was strange, I decided to have a look at my storage status, it appears that my device shows up with 0 B free in the storage browser, and upon plugging it into a PC for MTP, I'm shown the device and internal "shared" storage with nothing in it. I've done some googling for what could be a possible issue, to no avail so far.
I've tried using the terminal in TWRP to create a directory on /sdcard/ and set up userinit.sh for that directory.
I would hate to have to reflash the device yet again as it's taken me ages to get this setup, and I don't want to have to buy an external SD card just for this phone (although something tells me that wont mount properly?)
Your assistance is much appreciated.
More details:
I notice when trying to tick the System partition in the Mount section of TWRP, I get a console message saying that the storage device could not be found.
I bit the bullet and tried re-installing the ROM from scratch. I made sure to do a clean installation, by wiping Internal Storage, System, Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache, ensuring system, data and cache were mounted. Installation went through without any errors as far as I could see.
The problem seems to be solved upon looking at the camera app. I will install and restore all my Google data and confirm this. Indeed it works. Please mark as solved!

How do I recover internal storage errors on Motorola Xoom MZ604.

Hi, I’m new so please be gentle….
How do I recover internal storage errors on Motorola Xoom MZ604.
Trying to upgrade Xoom to Omni 5.1.1 wingray, It installs but just blinks and antennae twitch - no access (even after sitting overnight) also tried Omni 4.4.4 no difference.
Went back to check TWRP3SD and found errors when wiping. Searched the internet (XDADevelop and elsewhere) for days and could find nothing for a fix. (BTW - I never have used a password on my Xoom)
Mounting internal storage (which has 0MB) indicates “Unable to mount storage”. Also, fails to mount /data and /cache, both with (Invalid argument)
Data and Cache have 0MB size and when trying to repair them, e2fsck gives error 8. System has size of 1007MB and e2fsck returns an error 4 when attempting repair. Also can’t wipe dalvik. Tried changing system from ext4 to FAT - error changing file system
Tried 3 versions of TWRP - 2.4.4.0-wingray/2.6.3.0-wingray/twrp3sd - no change in errors.
Funny - tried to fastboot flash recovery with multiple versions of CWM and all images error and can’t be sent.
In the beginning TWRP couldn’t see/mount the SD card and I believe at that time it mounted internal storage and had a value for Mbs (tho I can remember the amount). I went through the process of wiping and didn’t pay any attention if it worked or not. Sometime after (don’t ask me how) it could see the SDcard and I could install the ZIPs
Also, before this process when Xoom was in Cynogen, when I connected to windows PC (via USB) I could see internal storage and SDcard - now in TWRP, I just see SDcard. When OMNI come up there is no USB connection.
I must have tried factory reset, format data, repair or change file system about 50 times with no change (bordering on insanity maybe?)
I can supply a recovery.log if it will help.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Solved!
A big THANK YOU to everyone that helped.
I used the instructions at https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052644 (thanks Eric Dabbs)
And found the xoom software downloads at http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-faq/11756-xoom-software-downloads.html (xoomforums)
This allowed entry into the initial rudimentary recovery whereby cache was deleted and a factory reset was performed. This version (3.0.1?) had about 3-4 updates. After applying all the updates, internal and external storage could be seen.
Then, upgraded TWRP to 2.7.1.0 big part. Internal storage was available and wiped all partitions (finally success) and installed a homemade Omni 4.4.4. Then, cleaned everything up in TWRP and installed a homemade OMNI 5.1.1. All working fine!
I see that there is a 6.0.1 Marshmallow for wingray….wish me luck!
