I have a problem:
I flashed my hd2 from a stocked rom 1.42 dutch version, with hspl 1.42. I installed a custom rom from: HTC HD2 Laurentius WWE 21891UltimatePOWER.
it worked fine for 2 or 3 days and then it stocked, i reseted the phone and
When i turn on my HD2, i get a white screen. and it doest go away. Even after softreset (volume button down in bootloader)
When i go in to bootloader i see this screen:
Pb81100 hx-bc
Spl-1.42.hspl xe
0x05
Cotullahspl 0x30

When i try to instal a rom by going in to bootloader en then start in win xp the update wont start, it stocked at 0 %
Then i tried to flash a orginal romt by sd:
it stocked at 7 % and i get this screen:

- I tried different to install a rom and radio rom by vista, but also no succes
- I tried task 29 (by the Attached Task29 into a single exe.) to erease all data from the phone, but in windows by activesync it wont start
i tried al the above from windows 7.
Is there anyone that can help me, please i getting very desperate.
VERY VERY IMPORTANT! Try and read 2-3 times what is written here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Only afterwards proceed to the following :
First of all....try and use Windows Vista or Windows 7.
Second of all....do not try to use task 29 because its a bit more complicated and it involves some drivers and so on!
Use this little thing here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5848003&postcount=19 and after its completed....flash a proper radio something like 2.08.50.xx which you can find on Radio dedicated section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
After all these....flash a custom ROM but be careful to be one suited with your radio! Which is a radio appliable for most of custom ROMS BUT be VERY careful!
Another thing.....do not flash from SD Card....Use the CustomRUU tool and flash it via ActiveSync!
Do you get any particular error message? When in bootloader mode, does "usb" show at the bttom of the screen? If so, try moving to a different usb port, preferably at the rear of the pc, or try different cable or even different pc. If still no luck, try uninstalling and then re-installing the latest version of Activesync.
The White Screen issue sounds like the incorrect radio version for the rom. I'm not familar with the details of the particular rom, but there are certain rom/radio combinations that will do that if they do not match eg running a 2.10 based rom with a x.xx.51.xx radio. The phone works intially until a reset and then hangs.

Thanks for the replay
I tried, flashing by activesync. i flashed it the first time by hspl (the tread you link to) and then by activesync. But like i said, the hd2 stops at a white screen, so i tried by every possible way i could think of. Also i tried task 39 by the tool you mention, but it still does not work.
But i will correct my ts.
@clydeb1
I tryd to flash different radioroms, but if it try by activesync it wont start and by sd-flash it stocks at 98%, but i will try a different active sync
Okay,
I tried the following options:
- I installed a newest activesync and tried to instal an new rom under windows xp. The update stocked at 0% and i tried to install radio rom, with the same results
- I installed the windows mobile on windows 7, and tried the same as in windows xp, and still the same results.
Then i tried flashing every rom from the site by the sd-method (after every bad flash i formatted the sd-card with fat32)
With the sd method the phone stocked at 99% and then gives the next images:
00018003
LEOIMG.nbh - Fail
Radio_V2Fail
Update terminate

IS there any one how has a solution for this problem
Ok....try from the beginning!
1.Get from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433 HSPL2_RUN.zip (extract the content in a folder named hspl ).2
2. For Windows 7 you need Windows Mobile Device Center ( WMDC ) NOT ActiveSync!! Get it here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
3. Make sure in WMDC settings the USB connection is checked!
4. Take out your battery....insert it again! Start your phone while keeping pressed the Vol Down button! This will get you into bootloader! The screen should display USB on the lower part of the screen! (evidently connected to computer )
5. Flash HSPL2 select 2.08 version
6. Use that tool I recommended earlier.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=19
7. Enter again the bootloader and flash a Radio ROM ( try 2.08.50.xx ) via WMDC!
8. Flash either NRGZ 21898 or Cleanex 21898 versions ( I recommend these in particular because they work with the radio mentioned above and are also stable ROMs ).
P.S. Take out your SD card and SIM card while performing all these steps!
Hope you will solve it!

Thanks for the advise
I did every step. The first problem is: WMDC doest say there is a connection, while windows 7 say there is a connection also i see usb in the lower part of the screen.
In the same sequence as you right above. the hspl2 says it worked fine, but when i reset the boatlooder still says it has hspl 1.42 in stead of 2.08. The tool you recommended did't start. and says update error.
do you know something else i could do (or anyone else)
Give the phone to someone who can get it to work??
Give me your SD-CARD serial number.
I'ma make a goldcard for you.
sd-card max to 4gb!
And then try flashing stock nld 1.66 rom using sd-card.
Because you tried to fix it flashing a 'original rom?' from sd I think I know what's your problem.
Did you use a Dutch shipped rom while trying to fix or a WWE one?
If you flash a shipped rom from storage card it restores the original SPL and removes HSPL !
Try flashing a Dutch shipped rom one more time from storage card, it will restore the original SPL made for your device.

@Korenbloem,
A simple hardreset would have fixed your issue as well.
Instead of all kind of panic experiments like mtty/ flashing radios/roms from sd you could have come to me and I would have helped you.
You flashed a very old rom from the rom archive but never the less that rom is intensivily tested by me and the beta team.
I have no idea what kind of software you installed/tweaks you did or anything else but also with installing the wrong software it could cause the rom not to boot anymore.
Sorry to tell you but these 'bricking' stories are mostly caused by unexperiened users and it
making me sad to see more people are opening threads like this blaming a rom and causing a panic reaction in public destroying our work.
I realy hope you fix your device and I will try to help you but this isn't a rom issue.

Thanks for the adivse, but i already tried that with an orginal rom, but i will try it again, mabey there is a difference with a shipped rom.
The first thing i did was a hard reset, but that did't worked. (the phone is in this shape for 1 month now).
Second. I am not blaming you or anyone. I flashed the wrong radio rom i think (cant remember witch one) And that is my own fault. I never wanna make the suggestion that it is because of youre rom.
I took a risk by flashing my phone. and i is my responsibility.
Edit: I tried a shipping rom nld. But it gives the same error as always, only after 7%. But thanks for the advise
@ Xmoo, First of al thank you that you want to help with a sollution. But what does that mean a goldcard and what are the consequences of using it.
Laurentius26 helped me with fixing my device.
The problem was the radio. and by flashing a factory rom from t-mobile, the hspl was reset to spl 2.00. After that he flashed a orginal shipped rom (the orignal one from my device). And the rom is fixed again SPL 1.66 is now on the device.
Laurentius thanks for al the help!!!!!
HD2 bricked?
Hi, I urgently need your help. I used my hd2 on a vodafone branded rom 1.44. Last week I installed a Vodafone NLD 1.72 rom , + froyostone 3.4 Rom,kernel 8.5 (with hspl). Yesterday my touchscreen has stopped fully .. . The next, I've been in touch with HTC and they will pick up my phone tomorrow for repair. I have to remove hspl ofcourse .. so I happily try to flash official vodafone rom from the SD card, did nothing 1.72, 1.48 seemed to do until I restart and got an ROM code error. What to do: ( I am pretty desperate now .. when you start you get an exclamation point and then 'not allow' and then the tricolor. Is this due to the lack of the original 1.44 ROM? Apologies for this begging post and my poor English but I hope that someone has a solution to unbrick this device so he can up picked by HTC.

Do you have a branded Leo? If so, enter bootloader (remove battery, press volume down, insert battery), connect via usb (maybe you have to wait for driver installation), start the latest *.exe from your operator/carrier...

Maybe it is because you flashed the wrong stock rom.
You should find the CORRECT STOCK ROM for your device, otherwise you need a gold card

The 1.66 ROM you posted above has radio version 2.06.51.07 with it. So have you considered trying to flash that radio version and then flash the ROM. I know if you get the ROM to flash it will flash that radio anyway. But you seem to think you flashed a wrong radio so just thinking out loud here.
Hello,
I'm about six hours into the process of trying to revive a nonfunctional HD2 that I purchased. I'm going batty!
Here is my status:
1) have installed SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE (0x05, 0x40) Cotulla HSPL
2) Have downloaded a few different roms (Chucky, TMO official, Energy) but they either get stuck at 0% or 9% (the highest it's gotten)
I'm getting pretty good at pulling the battery - it's like a new skill I never hoped to have!
I'm getting pretty frustrated because I've read about a hundred different posts on this site and I see that people are getting around this, but I'm starting to wonder if my phone has an issue that I can't resolve?
The phone doesn't boot up at all - it just says "Upgrade ROM code error, Please try again". Prior to my goofing with it, it just got stuck at the "Stick Together" screen. (Unwittingly bought it that way)
If I use the HSPL3_PKG to install/remove HSPL, it only works (connects to the phone) about one out of ten times, and out of the ~ten times I have gotten it to work, it only completed twice with a "We Hacked It" screen. The rest of the time it errors out just as I think it's getting the job done.
If I boot to the bootloader screen, I can put the USB cable in and see it change from Serial to USB (I've tried the thick and thin cables as some have suggested and haven't noticd a difference yet)
Then I kick of a rom update using the update utility that comes packed with it, and either the update process stops at 0% or it has made it all the way to 9%.
I'm in a position to get a replacement from TMO via the person who bought it (two for one, wife didn't like it, I bought it off of him) but I would rather not.
Any suggestions?

Once you have Hard-SPL on the device you don't need to worry about that anymore. Flashing Roms and radios will not overwrite it, that's what makes it "Hard". To make sure it's on there go into bootloader and it should show 2.08.hspl.
As for the radio, for TMOUS, just make sure it's a x.xx.50.xx radio (not a .51) and you'll be fine. If you have radio 2.10.50.xx you shouldn't have to change it.
So now I would try downloading one of the stock shipped Tmo ROMs (2.13 or 2.14). Then remove Sim and SD and go into bootloader, connect USB to PC and make sure it says USB on the device (not serial) and run the ROM Update Utility (RUU.exe). See if that works.
i also got this problem ,will try ur method n c
after hspl ,cant flash finish radio 2.14 it says ERROR (290) INVALID COMMAND.

You need HSPL..
HSPL done ,i tried a lot of files only Miri & Dinik n Duttys Leo Sense file can b flash successfully ,it went into menu once but now hang at htc startup again,,is this hardware problem?
i had the same problem last week. Drove me nuts.
i found there are more than one version of HPSL 3.
you have to download the latest one. for more info,
read my posts at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789506&page=18
So you need HardSPL3 (the version is DarkForces Team HardSPL3 by bepe and Cotulla 21.06.2010)
If it still doesnt work, take a photo and post your screen
Still no go...
I have installed SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE (0x05, 0x40) Cotulla HSPL, the latest version I could find.
I just tried to flash RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_3.14.531.0_Radio_15.42.50.09U_2.14.50.04_LEO_1.5_Ship and it consistently flakes out at 8%.
I charged the phone all night, booted to the tricolor screen, kicked off the update as an administrator in Win7, the phone got to 8% and then the update flaked out on the PC - "The ROM update encountered communication errors during the update process" (Error [276])
I genuinely think that this phone is bunk - I'm just going to have the fellow I bought it from call in for a warranty replacement.
Thanks for your help, everyone...
SD card flash...
Hi,
I could not see it anywhere in this thread, and also I'm not certain if it is possible on a HD2. But on my xperia I'm usualy flashing from a SD card, copy the image over rename it as KOVSIMG.NBH (guess it would be something like LEOROM.NBH).
Than by pressing (and holding) volume down + power button while the device is off going to the boatloader screen which detects the card (must be inserted and flash from it IF there is the correct file loaded on the card.
Dude,
Did you actually download the HardSPL3 version from DarkForces Team?
If not, dont second guess anything. And if it works, you'll get your phone back.
The file name to download is "HSPL3_PKG.exe". Its by bepe and Cotulla 21.06.2010
If you downloaded the right version. it will support ALL LEO types, and all the SPL versions below:
SPL 1.42.0000
SPL 1.62.0000
SPL 1.66.0000
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000
SPL 2.10.0000
you just select which SPL version to install in the Choose SPL screen. This version also disables the CID Check.
Dont knock it before you try it ..
+1

Yes you are correct you can flash via SD card. You need a 4GB or lower SD card. This is not to say other higher GB SD card will not work, it is just that it has been stated many times the higher SD cards sometimes work to flash a ROM and sometimes don't. The card needs to be formatted with Fat 32. You have to find the RUU_(wharever).nbh and rename it to leoimg.nbh ( you almost got it righ tsnoffy lol) and copy it to your SD card. insert SD card into phone and hold the volume down botton down anx tap the power button keep holding the volume down button down until you see bootloader come up and say searching then let go of the volume down button. The ROM will flash.
Hi all. Just wanted to let everyone know: NEVER GIVE UP. I task2a my htc leo twice (different times) and "BRICKED" it in that I could not flash any rom back to it. It has HSPL3 and trying everything including removing HSPL and going back to SSPL (HSPL 2.08.0000) I got nowhere. NO ship/stock or custom roms would flash at all by USB and when done by LEOIMG.NBH I'd get RADIO_V2 RSA FAIL etc. I tried using the various RUU executable: Romupdateutility.exe, CustomRUU.exe, ruu.exe (dexter series), and still had problems. I never lost HSPL or bootloader however... In the end I solved it like this:
1) CRITICAL YOU HAVE A FULL BATTERY FIRST AND FOREMOST ELSE IT DOESNT WORK OR UPDATE AT ALL. USE EXTERNAL CHARGER/OTER PHONE.
2) I connected by MTTY and re-did Task 2a, and a Task 28, Task 28 55 aa, and then a task 29.
3) I kept trying various different LEOIMG.NBH files including RADIOs, Custom roms with only OS.NB inside, etc etc etc.
4) In the END:
You will have to use your LEOIMG.NBH on <4gb SD CARD from the STOCK default rom the phone came with....
But: It will probably not (for some reason) work first TEN or so times !!! (weird?)
I kept trying doing ruu.exe in between each SD card attempt and also kept removing/swapping HSPL/2.08.0000 and going in and out of MTTY doing 2a, 28, and 29 OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Ultimately I know this is confusing (my explanation) but I am simpy saying my leo was gone and I did not give up so DO NOT GIVE UP. I sat there 12 hours+ doing this over and over and GOT IT BACK TWICE NOW (yes - I did 2a task twice for certain reasons)... USEFUL ROMS/APPS:
Task29.exe (containg single checksum-ok but BLANK - ruu_signed.nbh)
Telstra Stock ROM
Telstra (HTC website) signed update ROM.
Latest LEO radio
Dexter-with CHT2 and companion ruu.exe (used with dexter and other .nbh)
Xanny-Tech-Evolution via SD Card.
HSPL3_PKG.EXE
magldr 1.11 (by RUU and SD).
In the end YOU WILL FIX IT OK. I'm pretty tired now so I will go over this and clean it up later but KEEP PERSISTING AND HAVE FAITH: if you have HSPL and MTTY and SD you can and you will fix it.
---
edit:
OK, after stock telstra LEOIMG.NBH ok... wanted magldr back... did hspl3... fine... then did Task29.EXE(for radio rom 2.08 576 ram ok) by the EXE/RUU: DO NOT DO THIS... it fails and you have to start again:
after task29.exe (radio 2.08 not-MTTY) with FAILURE - I put the ruu_signd.nbh for this onto SD card and flash - fine. Then did MAGLDR.NBH the same (LEOIMG.NBH) and all OK. Then clockwork and update.zip for PPC-Windows7-Android.
----
Thanks DFT and Cotulla.

Cool that it works for you. But the steps in your description does not give me enough confidence that it will work for anyone else.
Or maybe someone else can verify this method?
Nice!
This was very inspiring! I hope it does work for everyone. As for me I did try for the nth time and well no luck for me, tried a lot of variations, roms, task29, radios but still unsuccessful. Guess for me customer service is the only way. Good luck to the others!

I got out of bricked situation by extracting only the SPL file from the stock rom using OS builder.Renamed it leoimg.nbh and flashed it using SD card 2 GB /sandisk/.It appeared stuck on the "loading" screen and I had to remove the battery not sure if I'd succeeded. The first sign that something might have gone right was the green light showing fully charged battery, cause despite "common sense" I put the battery back in and put the phone to charge. After taht I used the RUU_signed file from the same stock rom I took the SPL from.
i must try harder...
i spend already to much hour on this pr ...i dont give up
i connect MTTY via USB button in win 7 i make this command task 2a , task 28 ,29
i want to find a STOCK ROM for my phone but i can't find a good one CID is HTC___001
i need a GOLD card i think... to unlock
after i make the info 8 cmd in MTTY window last line say OS not FOUND ...

I did a stupid thing, with the following. I copyed an LEOIMG.nbh file to my formatted sd card, so I get an SPL-1.42.0000, but I can't flash any HSPL to my device, because the HSPL setup writes out USB connection error. Neighter can I flash for example the official 1.66 rom, the installation stops after 1%, and writes INVALID VENDER ID. What can I do?
Very siple but you need lots of time for it. The rom you flashe has spl 3.03 on it and so it doesn't allow you to flash any other spl on it. What you can do is you have to search for old stock roms in the native language of your phone. As long as the phone keeps giving you error when trying to flash a stockrom with you sd card, it means you have not yet gotten the right stockrom for you phone so you have to try with different old stockroms till you get the right one.
After that. you'll be able to flash whatever you like. Hope it helps.
But remember, you need time and patience.

You can also download HSPL 4 and use it to downgrade your SPL. To do this manualy put your HD2 into bootloader by holding the volume down button and pressing the power(end) butom momentarily. Once in bootloader connect your HD2 to your computer via USB cable wait until you see USB in the white bar of thd bootloader and run the HSPL 4 on your computer. It will ask you which SPL or HSPL you wish go flash select the proper SPL version to flash to your HD2 and you should be good to go. Hint the SPL version will have zeros at the end of them and the HSPL version will not. Example SPL 2.08.0000 HSPL 2.08. Hope this helps.

but i don't know why, because during the installationvI see USB in the white bar of the bootloader - the device manager on the notebook shows the connection too. :S

Heck reset your notbook if you think it might help.
I have tried that too, and didn't solve the problem... :'(
Do you think that GoldCard method would help?
Hi. I have the same pronblem. I have a UK HD2 that was originally on Tmobile. I flashed 2.08HSPL using HSPL4 & upgraded the ROM to the standard WWE_3.14. A long story short... after playing around with SD Android & a few other utilities I wanted to make a clean start, so my plan was to use HSPL4 to remove the HSPL before then re-installing it & reflashing the ROM. Unfortunately I now seem to be stuck in SPL2.08.0000. HSPL4 just gives the same error:
CRITICAL ERROR

Error code: 00000002

I have also tried flashing a stock ROM via SD (renamed leoimg.nbh), but I can't get passed the bootloader displaying 'serial'.
Any ideas?

Did you place the leoimg.nbh on the root of your SD card? Also was tbe dile you renamed originaly named RUU_signed.nbh?

Yes on both counts... I've even tried a complete 'long' reformat of the SD card first using the Panasonic SD Formatter, before putting the leoimg.nbh at the root.
I'm guessing that my stupid mistake is downgrading to SPL2.08.0000 whilst having a generic version of the 3.14 ROM installed. I guess I should have downgraded the ROM to an original Tmobile one first...
Could i ask what operating system you guys are using cos this problem could have less to do with the phone than it has to do with the operating system on the pc. I was trying to flash some roms on some old devices using Windows 7 but this didn't seem to work but it magically worked when i used Windows xp. I hope this works.
About the wrong Vendor problem, this just means the rom flashed is not recognized by the phone as the official one, i also had that problem and after flashing a official rom in the language of my phone, the problem was solved. I used the 1.66 rom so that i could flash hspl or else it might be impossible to do so.
Or as someone suggested you might try the hspl4 (never knew that existed) but try using Windows xp and if the problem persists try reinstalling your operating system (on your pc). I know it a lot of work but its just to rule out that the problem is from the pc.
Another thing i want to make sure of is if the phone is working normally with the rom on it or is there no rom at all?

Hi. Thanks for the input. The problem is getting even more frustrating! I've tried buying a new 4GB micro SD card (both are class 4). I have tried both TMO_UK_1.72 & TMO_UK_1.43. Both ROMs were downloaded from HTC using the correct phone's serial, so they should be the correct ones.
With the original SD card I can't get passed the bootloader screen & it just stays in 'serial' mode. With the new SD card it moves on to 'loading...', but then just hangs. I haven't yet seen the word 'searching' as described in the [TUT] Flash your ROM / Radio via microSD.
To clarify, the phone boots fine with the installed 3.14 ROM, but I can't get away from SPL 2.08.0000 or flash any other ROM.

Ok here is a couple of options for you. One go to www.t-mobile.com if you have a T-Mobile HD2 and type HTC HD2 upgrade in the search box on the home screen of the website and you will find the official T-Mobile 3.14 ROM. You will have to enter your IMEI number under your battery to download it. Download this ROM and then follow the steps to flash it via SD card, hint you will have to rename the original .exe file to .zip to gain access to the .nbh file. Also you can download and run HSPL 4 on your HD2 and select SPL 3.03.0000 but the official ROM will change it to SPL 3.10.0000 if you flash via SD card
Its a common problem i think if you are trying to flash a rom via sd card with a sd card higher than class two. Many here have encountered such problems.
According to your description, it will seem that it is as i suspected, the pc doesn't seem to recognize the phone and this could mean you have a defect usb cable or the useport itself is not funtioning properly. Try holding the phone in your hand with the usb in and support the usb with your hand to make sure the usb is indeed in the phone and see what happens. My usb cable is a little bit loose so when i want to flash anything, i use my hand to support it or i place my phone on a smoot surface and make sure the usb cable is in it.

Ok do to some recent personal experience and some other members problem of late. I suggest both of you do this go to www.windowsmobile.com/getstarted and download the most recent version of WMDC wich has updated drivers in it that seems to solve somd problems with flashing via USB especially if you are using a 64 bit system. Just so both of you know unless your HD2 shows up as "HTC USB Sync" in the device manager while connected via USB while in bootlaoder you do not have the correct drivers installed and any flash will fail.
T-Macgnolia & Abdul9: Thanks for that, however mine is a UK Tmobile HD2 & the .com site is only for US ones (it doesn't recognise UK IMEI's). If I go via the UK site it just links me to the HTC update site for the RUU_Leo_S_TMO_UK_3.14.110.1_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship (& also the 1.72 & 1.43 versions. I have tried all of these via both SD card & via USB. I have also tried HSPL4, HSPL3 & HSPL2. All options have failed. I have tried from Win XP Pro & Win 7 Ultimate (both 32bit) with two different USB leads. I have also tried a 3rd SD card (which ends up stalling at the 'loading' screen. The phone flashed fine prior to removing 2.08HSPL with HSPL4.
I think that the problem is not the SD card or the USB lead, but is the problem that I've now got a Tmobile (UK) phone with spl 2.08 & a WWE_3.14 ROM installed - this should obviously not normally be possible. I can't flash back to HSPL & I can't downgrade to any other ROM.
Does anyone have any idea how I can 'fool' the phone into letting me change the ROM?
I've been reading about Task29, but it says don't do this unless you have HSPL (which I can't get!). I don't want to brick the phone (because it still runs!), but I want HSPL back otherwise I can't reinstall Android on SD.
Furthermore, I don't think this is a USB driver issue, as it flashed fine before & it's occurring across different PC's & operating systems.
It's an incompatibility between a branded Tmobile with SPL & a WWE HTC ROM... I just need to get out of the loop I'm stuck in!
Hey Chameleon I know you don't think it is a problem with the drivers cause it was flashing fine before. But what I do not think you have taken into account is that you came from a older ROM and you had the right drivers to work with that ROM or the update for that ROM. But you now have a 3.14 ROM and this is a newer ROM that probably requires different drivers. I mean Microsoft did not create a new WMDC with updated drivers if it was not needed for the 3.14 ROMs as they are the most recent official ROM versions. Microsoft is the one that comes out with the new ROM versions too, the carriers just add their bloatware to them. Do you see my train of thought here? Also make sure you are usinv SD card that is 500MBPS to 8GB that is formated with Fat 32.

WOW! I've got the problem sorted! This can't be a coincidence... I haven't done anything different to my PC, but I got an 'unlock' code through for my phone this morning (£5.99 on Ebay) & it worked fine. I though "why not" & tried HSPL4 again. With no other changes it worked absolutely fine this time & I now have 2.08HSPL installed.
Presumably by unlocking my my phone from Tmobile it has also removed the 'you're using the incorrect ROM' problem.
Thanks for everyones input on this. I maintain that XDA-Developers is one of the best Forums around (not just within the mobile phone arena).
Ok, half bricked it while trying to update SPL to 2.05 with goldcard...
I understand that a half brick is when you hold both volume buttons down on boot and neither serial nor usb show up in the spl screen. Between this and my inability to flash the SPL 2.05 (gets stuck at "Loading..." and takes several minutes to even get past "Load USB Host". I've left it at "Loading..." for an hour, no progess...)... I'm stuck and need help.
When I hold the volume down button at boot and connect to Zune, I get this error: c101002e
I've read that this can be solved with the windows phone support tools... but MS's page also says not to use this on versions higher than 7.0.7something. Unfortunately I forced the update to 8107, so I don't want to find out what happens when you ignore the warning.
Basically everything is stock ATT except the forced update;
Radio:16.23.02.26_A_16.27.00.23U
SPL 1.10
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Please help
Update 1;
Tried to flash the SPL2.6 update from HTC using goldcard, no dice, gets stuck at "Loading..."
Tried to flash the Eternity cingular stock rom, once again, stuck at "Loading..."
I think I'm beginning to see a pattern; USB host works as far as reading the SD card, but beyond that it fails...
Update 2;
I wonder if I can reapply the firmware through cab sender? I would need firmware cabs for the htc titan, preferably ones that are compatible with the new hspl! I can't find any, been searching for hours...
Was the HSPL process successfully completed? Have you tried to put the phone back into USB com mode (camera + vol down + power) and putting the OSPL back on?
You're the first I've heard having this problem. Since you're using the Gold Card Method, I assume that your phone is a US AT&T Titan.
I hope you get it going.
---------- Post added at 04:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:07 PM ----------
Not sure if you visited this page or not, but here are the instructions for flashing the HSPL. Further down the 1st post you'll find how to un-install it. I would try that since it doesn't sound as if your flash was successful.
Here is the link to the actual gold card method, if you haven't seen that as well.
No, didn't even get to HSPL. The instructions say to flash SPL 2.05 first, which isn't working. I'm stuck on the stock 1.10 SPL.
No matter what I try, any combination of flashing the original stock ROM, the HTC SPL update, etc, goldcard always gets stuck at "Loading..." so I think it's safe to say goldcard is broken as well, unless someone knows a foolproof fix.
Camera + Volume Down + Power... I assume you mean USB Host mode which is just Camera + Volume Down at bootup (holding the power button causes the phone to reboot). USB Host mode is how you use gold card, and like I said, it gets stuck at "Loading...". It does in fact read my SD cards because I saw the blinking LED that signals activity on one of the USB to microSD readers I tried.
Moreover there is nothing to uninstall since I am unable to install anything. I can use the WP7 cab sender, if I could just get the bootloader in cab form I think this would solve my problems; I think the stock SPL became corrupted somehow and needs to be reflashed... and I do not know anything about JTAG
When you made your Gold Card, did it say success or give you a problem?
Are you using a multi card reader or a single card reader for your gold card?
it says success.
I've tried two microSD cards, and three different card readers. I have gotten the CID for each card and properly applied the CID to each card, and properly formatted each in fat32 several times...
I've tried using the HD2 in Magldr usb mass storage mode, HD2 in android mass storage mode, HD2 in windows mobile mass storage mode... they all appear to work as it gets as far as "Loading..."
Moreover I have a single card reader and a multi card reader.. each making no difference; stuck at "Loading..."
I have tried a hundred different combinations which all appear to be successful if not for the fact that I'm pretty sure my SPL is corrupted.
Wow, that really sucks! Sorry I can't help. I haven't even done it myself yet. My y-cable will be here hopefully Friday.
The only other thing I would make sure of if I were in your situation is looking at the pics in gold card method post, I see that the gold card is to be placed in the female end at the bottom of the Y. You never said whether you made your own cables or not, but if you did, maybe make certain that it is correctly done.
Damn, while I'm sorry for your situation, I sure hope that I'm not right there with ya when I attempt it. Keep us up-to-date and good luck.
Yeah I bought a new Titan off ebay already XD
However before I open it I'm going to see if I can convince HTC that it was pre existing (it probably was) and that I found out while I was trying to do the official SPL update from HTC using the tool on HTC's site (which is more or less true as well XD). I think I'm still under warranty.
And I was using this Y cable http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JIOHDE/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01
It works, I've tried it in various setups. It's actually really nice; the grey cable doesn't carry data so you can use your computer or laptop for power without worry. But I did in fact use a wall USB charger for goldcard, just in case.
But don't worry, I'm almost sure that this was pre existing; gold card/USB host mode behaved exactly the same from the start, the only thing that has changed is the fact that I can't get Serial / USB connections to show up in SPL anymore (nor can I hard reset from SPL). It worked correctly at least twice...
hey everyone, I fixed it.
USB host mode / gold card works; if you're stuck at "Loading" then your SD card is no good. I went around and tried every mass storage device in my house and found one that works, use the generic goldcard image from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24809318#post24809318
To get rid of f400 error you need to flash cotulla's ROM, the cingular stock rom did not fix it.
Goldcard SPL up to 2.05, USB worked.
Install HSPL via USB, if that doesn't work, install the stock ROM via USB and start over.
Once HSPL'd at 2.05 USB will NOT work, so you'll need to goldcard cotulla's ROM (remember to rename it from FINAL.nbh to ETERIMG.nbh)
profit.

It's been months since anybody has posted on this thread. There are two ROMs that set this process up. Depending on whether you have the x310a (American brand) or x310e (European). When this process is all said and done it reads x310e regardless where it came from. There is a Cingular 1.09 and an European 1.10...the key here is to downgrade the SPL from 2.05 to 1.09/1.10. Some Titans have lower SPLs depending where you're at. HTC's SPL update to 2.6 complicates this process. Think of as 3 major steps...one, downgrade to one of these ROMs, two, return to SPL205 via Goldcard and then apply DFT's HSPL. Step 2 took me forever to get right and the process is sneaky long...you think you failed but patience will be rewarded. There has been quite a lot of discussion in regards to "newer" Titan (Eternity) which the internal drive is set up in such a way that one is lead to believe it is corrupted or they've been setup like the Titan II (Radiant) which to date remains impossible to HSPL. You're better off using one of the older Titans (Eternity). A few of the links no longer get you the files you need and if they do I would encourage you to download everything that is there and read every tutorial carefully and then again; this isn't for the faint of heart. It's way, way harder than the HD2 or older HTC devices. Nor am I aware any device since the Eternities is HSPL capable other than maybe the Nokia Lumia 920 Developer Edition.

It's way, way harder than the HD2 or older HTC devices. Nor am I aware any device since the Eternities is HSPL capable other than maybe the Nokia Lumia 920 Developer Edition.
