mms is broken. It's the new herpes for vibrant.
Oh that's no problem I don't use mms anyways anything else

This is the first 2.2 rom that has given me absolutely no issues.. including battery issues. Seems ultra stable, very snappy response, gps works like a charm.. I couldn't be happier.
I haven't had any more problems sending or receiving mms than I have stock or on any other rom(it has always been a bit buggy)
I used to have axura but I switched I had the worst data connection...really irritTed me so I went to obsidian..

I tried 3 roms yesterday (my daughter was home sick, sleeping).
Out of R14, Nero Beta 1, and Axura 2.2....
Axura is SO much better, for me. To be fair to Eugene, I was lazy and did not ODIN to stock before flashing R14.... Nero is not ready yet in my opinion, but it will be amazing. Axura 2.2 is rock solid and fast.
Of course, all of these are going to be irrelevant soon.
I was having problems with it. I was running it without any mods and I always ODIN back to JFD before I flash.
It would randomly just reboot or occasionally hard lock on me.
I ODINed JFD and back to Auxura serveral times, even without restoring my Titanium Backup stuff. I really liked it, but I have no clue why it did that.
I've been using Axura 2.1 for about a week now and haven't noticed any problems. I send probably 200 - 300 SMS a day and 20 - 30 MMS a day. No problems.
It just works, also flashed the JL1 modem = amazing!

What difference do you see with that modem?
It seems like with Axura I can hear quiet, high-pitched clicks when I'm talking on the phone.
regarding the modem, I imagine experiences will vary... but I am finally able to get 3g in my office thanks to it.
I'm using axura since 2.0 had been released. so that's a long time i think. so far it didn't let me down. Using JL1 modem.

Have been using 2.1 for about a week. Had the first 'lock n reboot' today, softwares that I had open at the time are:
Music Player
GPS Test
MapDroyd
SportsTrack
GPS antenna
Must had too many things going on for the CPU to process.
The only real problem for me is after i reboot my phone and i use launcher pro it always has a wait and force close option. It only happens to launcher pro and this rom. It Always happens on the second media scanning it just freezes. I have to kill launcher pro so it could work again.

Axura works great for me. Regarding the mms issue. If you install handcent from the market (its free) Then you can send and recieve mms with no problems. One minor problem Ive had, and its only happened 1 or 2 times since Ive installed it is that after turning the phone on it doesnt pick up a signal, stays on searching. But a simple reboot fixes it.
nope no problems
i love axura rom
in my opinion i think is the best
and mms does work for me
Have had gps lock problems, mms problems, and the task manager wont always show the current apparently. Nothing too big though.

I've read that using the eb01 kernel and DL09 radio can improve battery life in SC 2.8. Truth?

Give it a shot. Easy enough to do the switch and you can always go back. The presenter of that configuration is a trustworthy source here on the forums.

dunno about battery life yet .. going to wipe bstats in a few . i can say that it improved my data connection tremendously .
Actually, it's highly probable. Especially if you use gps. It's a commonly known fact DL09 had the best gps lock of any other. Dunno about data connection speeds...
being a noob, I don't want to mess up how my phone is working right now. I used adrynalyne method to flash my phone back after 2.7, to stock. Flashed new CWM, flashed 2.6 then 2.8 voodoo, used eb01 kernal, and enabled lagfix. I also have EB01 midnight/steel blue theme rocking. I would like to get back to dl09, becuase of the GPS performance. Do I need to do anything special before I do that, or just find and flash it via CWM. Voodoo is the part that makes me hesitant, and that fact that I use my phone as my modem, so I mess it up, I can't access this forum to fix it.
Thanks in advance.
Chopper posted a .tar. I'm on voodoo too , just flash via Odin in the PDA section.

do I have to worry about voodoo? Or is that just the kernal that i worry about? sorry for the noob question.

Haven't seen any difference in battery life . But GPS went from taking 15 minutes to sync on eb01 , to about 2 seconds . So that's well worth it in my book .

Update to sc 2.9.1and you won't have anymore gps issues. I lock almost immediatly.
Any improvement in reception, battery life, data tranmission (i.e. reliability and speed)?
I tested it for a few hours, and noticed that my MMS died. I could not receive MMS messages, it would stick on downloading. Of course after that, I went right back to EB01 modem.
Hmmm I haven't had any mms problems. In fact , I was experiencing data drops on eb01 . Dl09 cured that for me . Crazy how different phones are reacting so differently .

So I've been running a GB ROM/radio for quite sometime now and the little bugs have irritated me to no end. The only upside is that my reboot issues have ceased. Does anyone know of a Froyo radio that is as solid as the MR2 radio? I tried to use the Bamf froyo ROM with all mods, mainly the rosie mod cause I hate the personalize button and the rosie settings app isn't in my app tray. Kinda long winded but thanks in advance.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
It seems it's a hit or miss for everyone. The radio's working well and the reboots could all be caused by a host of problems. For example, i'm running the latest bamf and 2.5 radio, and no problems here. Try them all until you get the one that gives you the least amount of problems. Or if you want, call up verizon, tell them about all the reboots and have them send you another phone. I did that about a month ago, haven't had one problem since with the new TB.

I have been having amazingly annoying wireless issues with cm7 on my dx2, to the point that I'm cutting into my data plan most times without me even knowing it. I want to flash cm7 again, but do I absolutely have to Sbf first, or at all?
I have a nandroid backup of my stock 2.3.4 pre cm7,can I just restore that and flash cm7 over it? If so should I do that knowing I have issues with cm7 from that? I didn't clear the big3 prior to flashing cm7 the first time but did per the steps in the beta thread, as will as a few times since.
So should I sbf, or restore and flash again?
Sent from my MB870 using XDA App
If you are having problems you should definitely sbf and wipe data. Start over fresh to make sure no fragments of previous mods are lingering around.
However, the wifi issue seems to be a problem in cm7 for some. I had it and installed wifi helper. It didn't fix the problem just reconnected wifi when it would drop. I assume that's what you mean by wireless issues. If so, you might try wifi fixer before sbf and wipe.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Thanks for that, many people have posted saying that didn't fix the wifi related issues, but I will indeed give wifi fixer a go first before sbf...

I have had similar issues with Wifi and radio/data connectivity. I believe that there are some further tweaks that need to be made but as I understand Dragonzkiller is not making any more adjustments to this ROM but rather focusing on CM9
However, I have found that booting into CWR and wiping cache and Dalvik Cache has improved things. The wifi issues will be ongoing but for me I rather live with that than stock.
I've been using an app that seems to work well as far as keeping wifi on. Before, I did change settings to having it never sleep. It did fix it. Maybe once or twice I noticed it shut off. But a lot less than before I made the changes. But anyway, I am using this app called llama-location profiles. It pretty much changes the state of your device based on location and other triggers. For instance, I have it set to turn wifi on when I get home and to leave it on as long as its connected to MY wifi or leave the area then it will turn wifi off. Since using this, I have not once had a problem with my wifi turning off. The app does a lot more than just that too so I recommend it regardless.

What's the resource usage inn that app? Strangely enough I gave up after wifi fixer as well as multiple sbf and flash didn't resolve. i flashed liberty instead, and zero Wifi problems. So not the device, not the environment, all that's left is configuration and software. I'm fairly certain I had it configured right, the no sleep policy didn't add much stability, appeared to just ignore it. Bah! I want to run cm7! :[

To get to Liberty or cm7 did you end up doing a fresh sbf to a clean stock 2.3.4?
If you did and then if you didn't add any additional apps for a bit, do you still see the wifi issue on a clean cm7?
I would think this should help you learn if a software program is causing the wifi to hiccup.

It's an issue that doesn't happen on stock, liberty, or now eclipse, but every way I flash cm7 it comes back immediately. what do you mean by full wipe? And trust me I have sbf'd enough times in enough different ways to truly call "sbf'd" a four letter word...
Just because it doesn't happen to everyone doesn't mean it's not a cm7 issue. To be fair I'm not _sure_ it is a cm7 issue but I'd like to prove it's not, and haven't had real good luck doing so.

Be warned that gps fixes that replace blobs can mix badly with emergency dialing and can cause intermittent (and in at least one case constant) RIL crashes when dialing an emergency number.

Also intermittent means it could work 90% but crash 10% of the time, so one test may not be conclusive. But frankly, I'm not sure if SlimBean uses the right libraries in the first place. prbassplayer/kravind can correct me if I'm wrong though.
How a 911 call is different from a regular call anyway? Why if regular numbers are working 911 won't?

Samsung used a special RIL request code for emergency numbers, so when we detect an emergency number, we use that code. When it does an emergency call it uses a command related to GPS and if the GPS libraries are out of whack, then the RIL can crash or receive corrupt GPS readings.
And also, 911 has to work even if no SIM card is present.

I don't think that's possible since you change your location.
You can use an external GPS which will surely provide a better lock than the internal GPS.

I'm having VERY long GPS lock times and it won't hold for very long. I've noticed this in the last few months of roms and I keep my roms up to date. I use my phone for navigation and it used to be very good, quick to lock and stayed locked but since May its pretty much impossible to use. I use Waze and GMaps, GMaps is a little more consistent but still not as good as the past. I'm currently on the latest uXYLON but like I said this has been happening for the last 3 months or so independent of what rom I use and the last month its gotten impossible to navigate with.
