Hi everyone,
I was wondering how does the actual gps positioning happen in Android, is it done by the OS or by the apps themselves?
Is it possible to do the positioning fix within an app?
The reason I ask is because I'm working on a custom gps positioning algorithm as part of my research and it would be great and easy if I could test it on the phone as I work on it.
Thanks, I appreciate your help,
Marin A.

Hello fellow developers nice to meet you!
I've started studying java + android fundamendals in order to create a couple apps i have in mind but i came across something i would like to ask you.
My application entails that some information will be transfered over wifi or bluetooth between two phones in close distance.
What i would like to ask you is this; will i be able to fill a couple TextViews and ImageViews with strings and images respectively?
I prefer using WiFi for the longer distance but is that feasible?
Can you give me a clue as to where i start? i dont need any code just some references..
Thanks in advance!
I would like to place myself between the accelerometer data and other apps taking readings in order to send fake readings to those apps. Either that or implement my own software based accelerometer instead. (or another solution if you know of one)
Would i have to do this at kernel-level? There is not much documentation available that i can find. Please point me in the right direction.
Im very new to manipulating the android system, but i am willing to put some time into this. Thank you.
Hi there, I am fairly new to developing apps. Have some experience in coding however looking to find out from experienced users suggestions for the best route to take and use to code and develop a prototype app that requires constant input from sensors including body temp and monitor, flagging cautions/warning when parameters are passed. Sorry if bit vague. There is so much out there but after something that is better for beginner to app building that i can then emulate on until tech is available.
Thanks For Reading!
Hi,
i would like to know if there are any GPS Tracking Apps for Androidthat can remotely enable GPS if it is off. I would like to keep GPS off from our phones, unless needed. All the apps i have seen seem to require the GPS to be enabled before hand for tracking. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, if something like this doesn't exist, are there any apps that have pretty good privacy, such as it doesn't sell or share Personally identifiable information... maybe strips that?
Thanks!
No you will not find anything like that outside of government tools.
Best option is Google I think. I disable my GPS completely so can't be sure.
Hi everybody!
I'm trying to spoof my emulator information so it would look humanized and consistent while using an app. Let's assume that SeftyNet isn't the focus (as it might be too difficult) and I want to focus on all the other parameters, such as AndroidID, IMEI, GPS, etc.
I'm looking for a tool or guidance on how to approach it correctly and effectively.
Your assistance is appreciated!
