Painfully slow. But greatly appreciate the apk
works. onyx 4.2. JK2.
thanks!
Not sure if it is specific to the Market app or if it on Google's backend, but the 'trial' period for paid apps (return window) is now only 15 minutes instead of 24 hours.
Pros & Cons
So, it shortens the time for refunds, could be slower than previous version... Any reason I would have to hurry up to install it
? Sooner or later google is going to shove it down my throat doing a forced automatic update most likely
worked for me
thanks
New market is slow.

The new market UI is sooooo much worse than the original one... The HUGE part of a screen occupied by a green useless bar is horrible. The screen size for the list, the thing I'm more interested in, is much smaller. Carousel for featured apps - I'd much rather see the apps in the list than swiping them.
This's just my opinion, of course
Im really liking this new market app. I think its a very clean ui and I don't miss the tabs at all. Reviews and related and developer info all on one page. Seemed as fast as the last version.

While i like the overall look of the new market i agree, you should have the option of hiding the carousel. Definatly takes up to much screen/app list space. Would be nice to be able to slide it up/down much like the notification dropdown.
Also think the 15 min trial is not enough time to test so apps, i.e. Location based apps. Say you DL it indoors/area with no GPS signal and by the time you can get outdoors to test you realize app doesnt work because of a defective GPS ;-). I think trials periods should be developers choice with a minimum of 30 mins

Have cm6.1 Beta3 installed and get nothing but fc's. If i clear data through manage applications I get it to present terms and conditions and after I accept I see the new UI for a sec (if that) before it just exits and fc's repeatedly.
tried it and it's looking good. but seems a little bit laggy.

i wonder how would it do with the Battery? is it gonna be battery friendly or a totally drain???
Im hoping it doesn't, because when they updated a little while back, facebook was 15% of my battery use!! now I only use it when i need it!!
Facebook isn't really eating my battery at all and already tried the chat it's great. Now we don't have to find another app just to use chat in Facebook.
Since it supports push notification, it should save battery on froyo.

So does that mean that we will have to have a 2.2 ROM for push notifications to work for the FB app? I'm still on 2.1 but looking to jump to 2.2 soon.
I'm on 2.2 and push notifications aren't working for me. I have them enabled of course and if you notice it has options for "Friend Requests, Messages, and Event Invites."
I have had a couple wall comments and comments on my pictures and got no notifications. How stupid is it that you only get push notifications for those three things and not comments on your stuff?

this is a big step for android facebook...yet somehow, it is still utter garbage. and now that it has chat (which i will admit is a nice feature, except you cant stay permanently logged in), the only thing holding it back is that it STILL only notifies you of messages, events, and friend requests (no wall, likes, photo tags, i.e. none of the important ones)
i still firmly believe that Bloo 1.5 is the best Facebook app available to android, even though it is no longer on the market. It provides ALL notifications (you can set time frame for how often it checks) and a perfectly functioning chat feature, and birthday reminders, and you can opt to always be logged in to chat unless otherwise specified.
If anyone is interested in the .apk, let me know and ill post it. (it was free, so its not considered warez, right?)
Facebook for blackberry was the best pretty much everything that happened I knew about it very quikly have not enjoyed facebook got android at all hope it gets better
P.s. I finally got it to download and I'm not impressed lol

This is one of the fastest Android systems I've used. It scores 1670 on Quadrant. Ive had tested others which score higher (into the 2k range), but this one just seems sooo much quicker. Only thing I've found that I don't like is that some apps dont fill the screen(the slidelock screen, pandora, speed test). I am not used to such a small dpi and having a case on the phone makes it hard to drag down the notification bar, but that may be from my sausage fingers. Also, I cant seem to be able to pin an app shortcut onto the desktop with a long press. Doesnt seem to be an option for it like other roms I've tried. But so far I am liking it, but it will take some time to get used to.
Edit: I figured out how to drop an app on the desktop. Silly me. Longpress on the app from the menu and simply drop it onto the homescreen. So much easier!!!!!!!!!!
Will give it a spin
Alright glad to see some gb hitting the threads especially on sd --I am running cope's now will give this one a try downloading now its late will work on it tomorrow Thanks for the work
I have installed on my EU HD2 but how to make mobile data working?
Tnx for the build!
Just been playing around a bit on the latest. Incorporated copenhagens fix for su....but I'm gonna give things another go around seeing about getting it perfect....kinda a workaround at the moment.
T-Mobile US users will likely be the only ones capable of using my builds as stated before. Data is working flawlessly in this build.
Tomorrows update will include at least the such fix, Facebook added back in, possible progress towards kineto , and who knows what else.....

Hey folks,

This puts back the Stay Awake option from Eclair, that Samsung was so nice to remove for us. This assumes you have the 5 lockscreen mod from sbrissen already installed. I have only tested on superclean.

Yeah, this is how the Fascinate works.
Try downloading a 150mb ROM, and then turning the screen off when 60MB is done downloading.
Turn the screen back on a few minutes later. Hey, look, the download's almost.... oh wait... nope. Still at 60MB. Continues to download once the screen is on.
This is INCREDIBLY annoying.
This mod helps tremendously. When my phone is plugged in, I should be able to let the screen stay on, without setting my display timeout to 10 minutes.
Saumsung sucks.
Thanks for this. I was starting to have issues with the accelerometer, out of nowhere. The phone wouldn't rotate when in landscape, or would rotate to landscape when I was in portrait, and I figured it was the accelerometer. The calibration fixed it.
Thanks for the DUN settings thing. Hopefully won't have to go back to eclair to do qpst anymore! If I need to ...again...

if I have a theme flashed, these mods will revert to stock TW theme partially...and when I flash the theme over these mods installed, the mods will disappear.
but it seems like the option choice never changed...I turned on the stay-awake option and flashed theme, but even after the mod selection disappeared, my phone stays awake while plugged in. so I guess this isn't a big deal. thanks for the mod!
Nevermind! In his infinite wisdom, Adrynalyne seems to have included this is SC2.9.2

pretty sure Armv7

that's the google now I flashed. It's not perfect but it was the best one I could find.
You're probably looking at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224
That's where I got it from.
I wish I could get a fully functional version. It's almost perfect, but it's not the updated version, and if you try to exit with the ''back'' button it wont work, only if you hit ''home''
but all the commands and voice functionality work.
Does anybody else have 2 options for Google voice typing under the input method selection screen after installing Google Now? I'm not sure if I did something incorrectly during install or if it should be expected.

how many of you are running this? if you are running it do you have cards working?
i've had it and like it (the search part works, i can't add cards)... although it appears a bunch of functions don't work. it appears the easiest solution is for us to wait for JB to come out?
Google now with cards is working nicely on the cm10 preview in the development section. It wasn't working the same way when I was on viper with this version
Sent from my Incredible 4G LTE using Tapatalk 2
Use the app for a while. I felt like I didn't have any cards pop up for a while. Give it a chance to collect data and you'll notice a difference. I've been using it for several months now and it gives me traffic to work smh home, recent places I've shown interest in, train arrival times for the subway and railroad stations I'm near, weather conditions as well as heads up notifications letting me know when I need to leave my current location to make a calendar appointment on time. It really is awesome, but you'll have to give it a bit of time.
This version also has a lot of glitches, like you can't hit "back" out of the app or it will freeze until you do a refresh.
The developers only went so far as to develop for ICS, and then stopped so not everything functions correctly. Just install Cyanogen now that we have it, it works great!
just today it popped up a card for driving directions home and traffic! kinda cool... had the locations wrong so i corrected them. i'll see how it starts behaving - nice to see it's starting to figure some stuff out. it does give me cards for calendar events...
i keep watching the cyanogen thread... i've never run that rom before. i may try it for fun some time although i'm really happy with the viper rom.
I love the cm10 rom. Been running it since the day it was previewed. Google now works great on it. After it learns your behaviors the cards come up all the time for me. It even gives me driving eta to home and work in the notification bar when I start my trips without even opening the search app.

Hello
I bought this phone 3 weeks ago and since then I have always kept GB stock
5 days ago the phone started to have some small stick-slip and 1 time it has also blocked
at that point, given that just can not stand to have a slow terminal, I started to install all roms available on the Internet now, and I was very disappointed ..
Both ICS and JB or had problems or were slow (or all together) and this thing just is not suited me. ESPECIALLY THE WEB BROWSER THAT'S VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME
I am looking for a phone without many pretensions, but it is always fast to what I have to do, without locking up, while remaining reliable to top
mainly use the phone to call (but should be?), sms, whatsapp, email and Fb (the latter 3 course always push) and all roms try every time did not manage to keep open these apps (like the dialer) and every time you had to wait for it to reopen (I know, a few seconds .. but it bothers me) and in any case even if it remained in the Rams were still slow ...
so I wanted to share with you that I found the configuration that is giving me great satisfaction these days
I used stock rom as GB ... the only one without too many delays and the only one with all the drivers (like the status bar or Wi-Fi) perfectly installed, optimized and running
I tried the other rom, but got stuck for no reason, and even the basic functions like call and send text messages had serious problems
for speed up the system i have used Smart Launcher with the "notification for Smart Launcher"
from the phone looks minimalist, as in my case immediately gives me everything I need

The stock Lockscreen I really liked the fact that some things like text messages were displayed, but third-party programs like Hotmail, whatsapp and Facebook did not work, and since I could not find one with this feature that I liked and it was light, and view graphics on the home, I decided to use the NO Lock to disable it
because we will not want to activate widgets in the home (consumes a lot of ram) I used NOTIFICATION TOGGLE to have all the shortcuts I want in the notification bar (including the torch)
having said that, the speed is great, and the battery consumption is gorgeous (one day heavy use, just using it for two days)
look how little consumes night that 'I left with wifi off and screen off
I hope I was helpful, and if you have any questions / suggestions as well ask
HAVE A NICE DAY
The problem with this phone is limited ram. First off, I suggest using greenify. It keeps apps from waking up and running in the background.
As far as Roms go, xnovathor project is the lightest ROM. Pure aosp jelly bean 4.1.2, just as mommy Google made it. Clean install no apps, 200mb free ram. With Facebook, what's up, g+, etc, I still get 80 to 100 MB free.
