Any card should work for it
For app2SD it is recommended you have AT LEAST a class 4 card or higher. I have a class 4 8GB but I think I want to get a higher class.... when it goes on sale obviously
I will buy a class 6 memory card as soon as posible, maybe my lagging with apps will stop.

i've heard that lagging is also due to the reason that either the phones processor is slow or that the since many apps dont support to be run over on the sd card could be a reason, but hey i could wrong

I think that this time it wont be like that, because lagging started when i started to use 16GB memory card, before that everything worked fine.
And crashes the HTC Sense, i have to force close it, not applications that are saved on sd card.

Anyone using the 16gb sd card? Are they worth it? Any problems with crashing? Amazon are selling Sandisk ones for £39.24, seems to be a good buy
I am using it a while (sandisk 16gb micro SDHC) but almost full (navigation maps, movies and music)
No problems with crashing.
I'm not using a 16gb but I'm using an 8gb card. It has to be the best thing I've bought for my Touch PRO yet. I have (most of) my music, (a few) movies, and TomTom all on one card.
A 16gb card would be a great investment though.
Just been looking at them myself, my only concern is the class they are, i heard and correct me if i am wrong you need a class 4-6 card for music and so on, due to the speed it runs at, and most 16gb ones i found are class 2.
I'm using Kingston 16GB Class 2. No problem.
Hi,
I also have a 8GB card but thinking of buying a 16gb card...my question is the apps I have installed.
Im not sure which apps I have installed on my card and which apps are stored on the HD's internal memory.
Would i simply copy the contents from the 8GB card to the 16GB card?

The 8gb that comes with the HD is only class 2.
I have a SanDisk 16gb class 2 and it works fine for all videos I encode with HD Encoder, and MP3 up to 320kbps that I have used.
Yes, it's a little slower copying files onto, but no big deal really.
i would really love to know what does the classes mean? will i see lot of improvements while going higher?
The classes of SD card are the minimum write speeds that the card will maintain. Basically comes down to 2MB/s, 4MB/s and 6MB/s. There are some details specified for how to measure this, but they aren't of much concern to the user.
The maximum read speed of the card may be different (likely). Both read and write speed will also depend on the device.
In short, you will notice the faster write speeds if you transfer music or films. I haven't noticed any problems when watching videos using my class 2 card, but can see the difference when copying from my PC to the cards.
thanks a lot for the information Taxythingy
Is there a massive difference between class 6 and class 2 while using the Touch HD? Or is the difference when you actually connect to the PC and transfer off and on?

That i did not know, i always used my class 6 due to not knowing for sure if it would cause issues or not. (Had the 8 gig on my hermes).
I guess then if HTC themselves issue a class 2 then looks like i am wrong then, and maybe worth doing the upgrade myself.

I used a free program to create an image of my 8gb card before I switched to a 16gb. You can get it here: http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm
All my programs worked fine and my phone never knew I switch to the 16gb.
I am using a 16GB Sandisk with no problems.
Works just fine.
Copying speed to the disk is OK for me.
I am using a 16gb Sandisk with absolutely no problems. I watch movies; listen to music/audio books run large maps for GPS etc. In fact, if an application will install on the SD card I do so. I do not see any lag or delays whatsoever. The only thing is I am running out of space I need to upgrade to a 32gb when they become available
didn't know it's possible to insert 16gb card to the blackstone.
thought it's not supported, but glad to know i was wrong.
so.. i've already ordered a 16gb sd card, but i would like to transfer all the files
currently on my 8gb card to the new one. can i do that without any problems?
just copy&paste all the files from one card to another?
I've been using a Nokia 16Gb cars for a while now, and no problems. It's a class 2 card and I haven't noticed any difference in the behaviour of the device since I put it in.

I think the best method is to copy the contents of your current microSD to a new directory on your PC hard drive then copy all of the files from the new directory over to the new SD card. It doesn't hurt to make a backup of your SD from time to time.
sorry for taking a slight detour, but doesn anyone know when/if the 32gb cards are coming out? i've been holding off the 16gb and waiting for the 32gb one and i'm getting impatient
Hello!
Can anyone confirm that Nokia 16gb micro sdhc is works properly in HD or not?
Thx in advanced!
I opened up the back but I didn't see any indicator of the class.
I think its a class 6. I gave mine away and replaced it with a bigger one, but I remember matching the class, and the one I have currently is a class 6.
its not like your doing apps2sd... why does the sd card class matter?
What matters is the speed that it reads the data, writes new data, does your media scanning when you boot up, and plays the files that you store there.
I believe it comes with a class 2 card. Most smartphones only come with a class 2 since they cost less.
Im also wondering wihch class sd card is good for vibrant. Of course I would want the possible fastest one.
Having said that, I just found a deal on micro sdcard and was wondering if this is the one compatible with vibrant. Here is the LINK
Would you guys recommend it?
Thanks.

Well, it seems that the Vibrant comes with a Class 6 16GB SD Card, so it wouldn't make sense to use a Class 4 8GB
I don't know if it's compatible with other Classes.

Where to begin.....
The Vibrant comes out of the box with 16 GB of available storage. You have the internal, which is mounted to the system board, and gives you the phones partitions as well as your 14 GB partition for your data. Then, there is the replaceable external sd card, which is only 2GB in size, and as Dr. B pointed out, and to my own error, it is a class 2 micro sd card. That is the one the OP is referring to.

Hello members,
Bought a new lg optimus one a few days ago. Came with a stock 2GB card and did not install anything much in it.
Just songs and a few apps from android market like - angry birds, handcent SMS etc..
Yesterday I saw this sd unmount problem for the first time.. Even the contacts in the contact list disappeared. But after a restart and all things came back to normal. Then again saw same things a few hours later.. But did not act on it and things became normal by itself!!
Can you please help me:
1) identify my sd card class?
2) identify if my phone is suffering from sd unmount problem?
3) solve this sd unmount problem(if any) with this stock card.
Hopping to get helped soon
Still awaiting help.. Please help guys.. :|
open the back cover and look at the sd card. The class of the card is written inside a small circle (the circle is not whole) [the sd cards of class 2,4,6 are common]
NOrmally class4 cards are reported to have issues. I myself have this problem on my CLass4 8gb san disk card.
A way to reduce sd unmounts is to install all the apps to phone memory and use the sd card only for read operations (like watching movies and listening to mp3's etc)
I have noticed sd unmounts while an app tries to write data to the sd card. I have never had any issues while reading from an sd card.
If the SD does not have the number inside the circle then its probably class 1. The stock SDs do not always work because they do not come from LG originally. They come from the your local LG retailer.
The solution is to go for a higher class. And not only the class, buy a MicroSDHC that is of a known brand. I had the same problem as you with my stock card and changed it directly because I had the same issue with my old GT540.
Apparently, android 2.1 and higher need fast cards for writing.
or u could try some custom rom's
cause my phone came with a samsung 2G SD and had unmount problems with stock rom
Guys which class card should I go with?? And apart from changing to a new card, is there any other option?

Which custom ROM can help me and which also has a good battery backup? My girlfriend actually owns it who is a light user... She do not want to play high end games and all.. She just wants the phone to work good..
Also purchasing a class 6 would be out of budget for me.. But can a SanDisk 8gb sdhc class 4 card do some good?

go for void if u want battery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887281
as far as sd card is concerned just try the custom rom and see id the problem persist since she is not a heavy user she wont be needing 8 gb card as well untill unless she listen to songs. while sd card class 4 is good enough i am using that too san disk since other was out of my budget i bought it as i needed higher storage space but my unmount problem was solved flashing custom rom in my 2 gb sd card provided by lg
move all the apps to phone memory. this will reduce the sd card unmounts.
So i stumbled across getting a free 64gb class 10 sd card for my note 2 and was wondering what benefits does having a sd card have besides more storage and what more that its class 10? Im a noob to the whole sd cards with phones as i usually never buy sd cards but with this one being free i said sure why not. I would also like to know if there are any performance enhancements with having this sd card now? I appreciate the help ahead of time
Why wouldnt you want more storage lol...i have like 11gb of music on my sd card you can put movies on it anything..and there are ways to swap your internal memory and sdcard so you could theoretically have 64gb of internal memory...i gota 32gb card if ya wanna trade hahah
Hello,
I am expiriencing half grey photos or unable to load when they are on my sd card.
I have p760 on stock rom and it happens with stock cam app or market app.
I think it also happens with other stuff, have to check.
Is there any posibility the phone is doing it?
or is my SD card faulty? (brand new 16gb class10)

The card may be failing. I had 2 class 10 cards fail on me. Try a class 4. They seem to be working good for me.

The card was replaced with a new 16GB Kingston class 10.
After a week the second card died entirely, it was not recognized on any device.
Could my phone be the fault?
I switched now to Kingmax 16GB class 10.
Hope this will be alright

Wow. It could be. If you are overclocking try disabling that. It may be causing too much heat. Also I know that pulling the card out without unmounting it through settings will cause it to apear damaged. I had to run a disk check on my pc a few times to fix one card.
