I think Zach started including live wallpaper-related things in xtrSENSE, but take note: last I had heard, Live Wallpapers and HTC Sense itself don't get along. From what I know, as long as you're using an alternative home with an otherwise Sense-based ROM, then you can use Live Wallpapers if the ROM has the ability.

Fast ROM with HTC Apps but removed all HTC Widgets?
MCR r22?!?! you are so ahead of Paul!!! (Paul is only working on r18 just now...)
Sense UI but removed Rosie Launcher?!?!
the reason he removed the sense widgets was because without rosie they cannot and will not work....
I won't be using this but good luck with this ROM. Don't listen to the clown asking to delete this thread, he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. This community should encourage Devs that create new ROMS..
nice ROM....always wanted the additions of HTC like copy paste without all that rosie thing.....

I have cleaned this thread, let's keep the comments on topic.
im on froyo like most people, but i was just wondering how much free space is there in this rom after removing all that fluff?
I like this ROM, I've been using evil's version and I want his batt % in this rom. Anyone know what files have to be moved into the system/framework folder to make it work?
I really like the idea behind this as I use something similiar to this on modaco 22.1. What's important to me though is that i cant use BetterCut with this, I'm not sure why.
Im not expecting you to fix this, just letting other people know. I think this might have something to do with the fact that rosie launcher is gone. Wild guess though.

[Q] Quick questions re stock ROM

New owner of an SG2, which I'm liking so far. Am coming from N1 Cyanogenmod.
At present I've rooted my phone and am running the stock rom with Launcher Pro.
I'm liking a bunch of the features of the stock rom (well trying them out) and am deciding whether I keep the stock rom or move to a custom rom.
I do have a few questions about the stock rom, which I wonder can be answered here:
- With the pull down menu you have the options of wifi, bluetooth etc in the status bar. Is there anyway of changing these options (for example want to remove bluetooth).
- With the dialler, once I make a call it goes into a screen with a bunch of options, like, save contact, etc. Is there anyway of avoiding this screen and going straight to home? (incidentally you are given the option of "voice call". Is this something provided by your network or another service?)
- Autorotate. Is it possible to NOT have it working on the homescreen, but available in your apps?
In relation to custom rom, what do you guys reckon is as close to stock as possible, but with a bit more customisation. I'm guessing a custom rom would be able to deal with most of my queries.
1) majority of roms have that bar modified where you can slide it across and have upto 12 triggers, although you can't really remove them. However with cm7 and miui you can customize that bar to your hearts content.
2) no idea
3) look in the launcher pro settings, you should be able to set it there so it doesn't auto rotate
Give cm7 a try.

Cheers mate. Was using CM7 fine with my N1, guess just wanted to mix it up a bit. There are a bunch of features I do like about the stock rom though.
I'll run it for another week and then may give MIUI a go.
Checkout jkay mods and themes for stock roms in the theme section.
Can do basically what you want Plus more.
Also many launchers (home screens) can set whether to auto rotate. Set it to off in launcher and leave the system auto rotate on.

Thanks, will have a play with the custom themes.
Also, I presume, if I install MIUI or Cyanogenmod, I could still install the Samsung specific apks?

No, you can not install any Samsung apps on CM. (May be you're thinking you like the stock browser so you want to use it on CM, but you can not).

Sorry for the newb qustions, but is this because of the ROM itself?

Cheers mate. I note you are using GingerMod, may give that a try as it seems to be the AOSP, with the ability to add certain TW apps.

Yes. CM7 and MIUI are build from scratch and doesn't contain anything related to Samsung. So unlike stcok based custom roms, these two roms doesn't support Samsung apps.

Well, the reason you wanted to try is exactly the reason why so many users love GingerMod rom. It has some good apps from Samsung, like the gpu accelerated browser, camera app, fm radio. Rest 95 % is aosp.
So it's pure google experience,no Samsung bloatware, and we can still enjoy some of the real good apps Samsung made.

heh, would love a cyan-samsung bastard child port. If only I had the skills to do that.
Love the ability with Cyan to tweak a whole bunch of settings, but am liking quite a few of the Samsung apps.
Will look into GingerMod as it may be a good compromise.

There is one more reason why i personally like GingerMod.
It is 99% (or 100%) bug free. Infact, i find it more stable than any official firmware.

[Q] whats the best rom for the aria?

hey guys was just wondering what do you think is the best ive been using nightlys for ages im thinking of changing?
what do you think i should change to?
Well, in my opinion it's a taste thing. Like what is the best color?
I have tried CM6, CM7, and Liberated Aria FR008. For my taste, I like the latest CM7 stable release 7.1.0 the best in terms of interface, settings, battery life, etc.
I was a Sense rom fan for the longest time but with the latest CM7 stable release, I have to say CM7 hands down. As TR_HTC said, it is simply better in all the categories. I only miss some of the Sense Widgets and apps but nothing that I can't live without.

No. You'll just have to get a theme for the rom or launcher (or a new launcher if anything). See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970459 (you still won't get sense widgets though).

Sick and Tired of HTC Sense

Dear HTC One users,
I was one of the enthusiast who loved HTC Sense. But on HTC One, I am hating day by day. I can live with other problems but one with their lock screen is killing me. I can't use apps like DashClock widget or ActiveNotifications.
I want to ask you, is there an alternative to by-pass that lock screen ? I would love old-school default android lock screen.
If not, then what ROM are you guys using ? I remember reading it somewhere that CyanogenMod eats up HTC One's battery and it was suggested not to install it. I saw another ROM name as PAC, really liked it but i don't like the concept of tablet UI on phones.
What ROM would you guys preger.

Sounds like you're a perfect candidate to flash a Google Edition ROM on your phone. The newest version based on Android 4.3 just came out a week ago, here is a flashable stock rooted version. The Google Edition ROMs for the One are made by HTC directly and they give the look and functionality of an AOSP ROM. Since the ROM is made by HTC, everything works nicely (including Beats, camera and IR blaster in the newest 3.06.1700.10 build) and battery life is just as good as Sense, maybe even a tad better based on some reviews. There are also custom tweaked version of the Google Edtion ROMs in the International One section.

Most, if not all, of the ROMs from the International section work on all variants of the One (except for the CDMA/Sprint version) so you are good to go. You might need to put in the APN settings for your particular carrier if they aren't included in the ROM.

I thought 4.2.2 adds the ability to use lock screen widgets like DashClock (you have to select "Widget" in lock screen type and I think you may be limited to just one widget). Not sure about ActiveNotifications.
If that's not enough, sounds like you need a custom ROM.

Yes, 4.2.2 does but thanks to Sense that i doesn't let you allow lock screen widgets!

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I believe 4.2.2 on the HTC One w/Sense does allow one lockscreen widget if you select the "Widget" lockscreen in settings. Try it. I can test later, but I quite like the "Productivity" lock screen that HTC provides.

I installed that ROM on my HTC One, and lets just say the battery life was pretty bad. The battery life would drop pretty fast just from browsing the web and viewing social media. Not to say 4.3 is bad at all.

In those settings chose the one all the way to the right. It's called widget lockscreen. Unfortunately only allows for one widget. No swipe left or right like aosp lockscreen.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Or you could install an app like Widget locker and replace the sense based one with the default Android one
The screen they are referring to is in Settings...Personalize...Lock Screen Style....Then chose Widget. Like they said above it allows for ONE widget, and that can be Dashclock if you want
When flashing roms it's generally best to use the Rom for a few days before judging battery life.
I've noticed some roms got better over time and usually your first charge is spent tinkering and configuring your phone.

The only problem with sense lockscreen and dash clock is that you'll have 2 clocks :-\

[Q] Single wallpaper in Energy ROM?

I've just flashed the ICS based, STOCK themed Energy ROM on my HTC Amaze and it works really well. However, it only seems to have the single stock wallpaper for all screens that are kinda' boring. Is there any way to get at least the same few wallpaper selections that was in the original ICS OEM ROM?
Sure, you can always extract from one of the stock ROMs, or just use the forum search feature for both stock and original sense 3.6 themes or wallpaper.

OK, but I have no idea which directory are those wallpapers expected to be. I was in a similar situation with ringtones as the Energy ROM Setup apparently lost the old ringtone directory. Fortunately I was able to force the Sound setup to take one of my own custom ringtone files as a replacement.
