Edit: can someone please read this?
Ok. So I'm a noob when it comes to android for the most part. My question is, why are there different styles for the Eclair Stock launcher? The N1 had an app button with the page switcher dots. Then there is the cartoonish style app drawer like on the Samsung intercept. Then there is the app drawer that's solid dark gray like on the OG Moto Droid.

What you have noticed - is the general trend of manufacturers to make customisations to the vanilla android in an attempt to engender brand loyalty ... Probably the best example is HTC with Sense. With a device that is rooted, you can make changes yourself to suit your tastes ... I like to mix and match default android, launcher pro, bits of Sense and custom icons/colours. Welcome to the ever changing worlds of android! .. Enjoy!

I know what sense, touchwiz and motoblur are. But my question should have been asked like this. On vanilla eclair, what does the app drawer look like?

Are the two not both vanilla android? Thanks for reading. Looking forward to the answer.

Both of 'em Droid was released with Android v2 but N1 was release with 2.1 also the CPU difference also means the Launchers would be different, The Droids launcer is alot faster (imo) compared to Launcher 2 (Nexus) along with RAM differences
Oooh ok. Thanks, that makes sense.

Yes Yes!!! fantastic can you help me to make it?
i don't know why i forgot my interest in the htc sense interface, but i did a htc theme for the backflip in mdpi over on the m3 forums.
http://modmymobile.com/forums/565-m...sense-framework-backflip-preclair-1-03-a.html
http://modmymobile.com/forums/565-motorola-backflip-themes/558488-theme-htc-sense-bar-backflip.html
theme imports are easy.
guess i'll put this as first on my list of themeing and contributions to start doing for the x10..
..btw i can import the imageset for the dock into any launcher of choice too.
next on my list is porting mister x10iuser's greenglow theme into every rom framework i use, as it looks pretty snazzy, and he seems pretty scarce.
really is weird seeing the scene/knowledge differences between devices in different areas.
Hello,
I already heard so many time that the sense of HTC is the best Android interface, and it really does.
so... while Samsung released the source code of SGS2, please developers, can you bring the sense interface to SGS2 ? is it possible ?
not just the launcher, but whole the interface (with dialer, sms, e-mails, and etc.)
examples:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Moved to Q&A as a suggestion rather than development itself.
It will be nice to have the variety of another ROM on the SGSII but i can say for 110 percent that Sense will never be ported. This will be due to the high level of complexity getting samsung hardware to work within the sense rom. Even harder as Samsung doesn't release a full source code, it holds some things back like source for proprietary drivers...
Nexus S port = yes but not functional
samsung GS1 = yes but not functional
SGSII = No and will definitely never be functional.
TW4 is fantastic, im a big sense lover but i have now learned to let go of it and embrace TW.
The only thing we will get if anything is a special version of CM
And we didnt need screenshot examples, most of us know what sense is dude
JD
I really like this idea. I know its hard but it works. If the milestone with it's locked bootloader can run sense 2.0 then SGSII definitely can. it just needs the right developers.

Tried, but I don't like it at the moment... Maybe when they add more features.
I'm using Apex Launcher now, very good for TP.

It's still in a very early state. What did impress me was the UI for customizing homescreens.

Hello,
I am using this launcher for a while on my gTablet. After last Market update all icons started to look really small (I didn't change any settings). How do I return big icons? Any ideas will be appreciated
I like it....I don't see the big hype behind other launchers (i'm looking at you laggy SPB with your £10 price tag). I've been using it for 2 weeks now and the only thing i didn't like was themed but that'll come along soon.
With apex launcher i read that it has the ability to support go launcher themes, is that on tablets too?
u guys using this launcher???
Its called SS Launcher
Its awesome. Must try
Light Weight yet Innovative with Lots of Customizations Available.

Ugh... sorry, the functions seem great and innovative, but the overall look is just... childish. I'm sure it'll be better in the future, but right now I wouldn't dare use it.
GR8 idea but does not look to good at tha moment....
Yh used sometimes.. But didnt liked it much

I havent tried it yet, but it looks really MESSY (from the screenies here and the market).
I just got settled with ADW ex It's pretty nice and lightweight as well, unlike GO launcher (should work a lot better on the higher end phones).
im my opinion i wanted the launcher just to be clear doesnt have a many widget.
I am using it from months. it is best launcher with tons of option to customize.
all who says its messy , it just their default set up you can easily remove them all and can make your own as whatever you like.
It's nice, but uses 32MB of RAM. No, thanks.

Just posting my personal thought here, and nothing to have with this rom ... but Android UI is getting worse year after year. The new "Material You" in A12 is looking and sounding exactly like MIUI !
The new Google designers have a childish/cartoonish taste !

WTF Google ???
Copying MIUI ???
At this point they're just changing stuff for the sake of changing things. I bet in one or two years, they will revert back to standard white and bland color schemes, and present it as a new "material" iteration.
You do know there are other brands of phones out there right? Sure, you like MIUI's look, and good on Google for putting some inspiring UI from other brands into their AOSP version of Android.
Don't like it? Don't use it.
Personally I'll use it because I'll get the rounded button look and it won't drain my phone's resources like the garbage MIUI OS does.
I get the looks and the performance, best of both worlds.
