My hd2 running android had a fake imei, why can't the slide have one?
This thread is what would be considered as FAIL.
1. Changing the IMEI of a handset is illegal, and cannot be discussed here.
2. This is the development forum, your post should have went in Q&A. Either way, this thread is closed...

In the interest of keeping the Development Forum as clean as possible, a new rule is in order.
Understand, the Development Forum is for DEVELOPMENT ONLY. It is NOT for posting general issues you have.
If you have a problem with a ROM that is hosted here, by all means, post the issue in the ROM thread. DO NOT CREATE A NEW THREAD.
If you have a problem with hacked software that is hosted here, by all means Post it in the appropriate thread. DO NOT CREATE A NEW THREAD.
If you have new hacking apps, by all means post them here.
However, Any more posting of new threads, that are not related to development, and should belong in the Q&A or General Forum, will be DELETED. And that's that. They will no longer be moved to the correct forum. But "Hasta La Vista".
Zero Tolerance.
Read the rules and guidelines people.

Couldn't have said it better myself
I bought GT-I9300 from Hongkong,it is Europe version.I upgraded to 4.3,but IMEI and serial number change it .IMEI:0049****,SN:000000,not backup EFS files. How to fix the problem?
I heart IMEI Editor can fix it ,but i can't recovery it ,upload files to reference. Thanks!!!:
Hundreds of identical posts, search and read -there is a sticky in general forum on efs.
Don't post on IMEI editing, it's against xda rules.
Mod Edit
As has been suggested , please use the stickies in the General section.
Do not post imei editors

I was given a cheapie Chinese tablet and it’s absolutely dumbfounding. The serial number is 0123456789ABCD (not joking), it claims it’s Android 7 and 116GB. The model number claims just “T101”. Half the OS is in Chinese. So my question is, is there any way to root this thing and put an English rom on it?

I had the problem prior to the refresh os I did, but the problem persists and it seems from what I can tell the motherboard is bad. I have the same audio-crashing issues this guy has here in this thread. https://androidforums.com/threads/android-reboots-when-audio-video-is-played.1281221/
So my question is, I've done an LCD repair, and digitizer repair on another phone I had, but I was wondering since the US996 bootloader is locked and encrypted by LG and they won't help the customers who want to upgrade to a newer OS, would it be possible to use a different LGV20 motherboard meant for a different phone company that doesn't have a locked bootloader?

How do I modify carrier-id , my pixel is a us version, I'm in Australia , I want to prevent stock firmware from reinstalling Verizon bloat each time the device is factory reset. I need to change the carrier-id to XSA which is Australia carrier code.
