[Q] MetaMorph and 2.2 Roms - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
Is metamorph working for anyone using a 2.2 based ROM? Everytime I try to apply a morph, it simply closes and tells me the morph is not properly written and to contact the author.
Is anyone else seeing this as well?

Some things work and some things dont morphs worked with eugenes ginger clone but not with nero v1 this would be better for q&a

Thanks so much for your answer. I put it here since it was app related (sorry if thats not accurate). I am trying to morph my swype to the naked black but have so far been unsuccessful. Have to tried anything like that?

You have to apply it twice then go into text and locale in your settings and choose swype as your input method I'm using naked swype if you're using eugenes ginger clone you have to download the swype apk and lib file and put then in there appropriate place

You can likely download voltage from themes and apps and take the vending apk from that and put it system /app with root explorer be sure to thank topshelf though he put a great theme out with this

What is vending apk is it the whole app or just the colored theme change. somewhere I saw there is just a code you change in the file to get blue or green or red but I can't find the thread now

thanks for the shoutout.....unfortunately i do not believe (which means im not totally sure) that it would be compatible with the new market. However, if someone has tested it and its confirmed working, please ignore this post.
The layout is that of the first market or at least the 2.1 market anyway but im on eugenes ginger clone and the market from black froyo works I know your looking for blue but if that works there Is a chance voltage would work as well

[Q] Gingerbread Keyboard

Okay, so after flashing the new Bionix-V ROM, i have been customizing it to fit me.
One thing I have been dying to get was the skinned Gingerbread keyboard. The Blackout Green one in particular. Found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9814026&postcount=169
There is a flash-able .zip and an .apk file. I have tried both methods and still no luck. I followed the instructions and can't seem to get it to work.
I know that the Bionix-V ROM comes with the stock gingerbread keyboard, do I have to delete that one to install the other one? I'm just worried that it will get deleted and I cannot re-install and.
Thanks in advance!
I believe you do have to delete the original first but before you do copy it to ur sd just in case it doesn't work. Don't forget to reboot after you remove and install

Yes. The next update I post (at least for my mods of them) will automatically remove the original before applying the update.
Sounds good, I will delete the original Gingerbread Keyboard.apk and flash your mod. Will keep a look at your post for the update!
Thanks guys!

I released an updated Blackout Green yesterday in the original MTM thread. It's near the end. You can also just find the Gingerbread Blackout link in my signature and find it there.
Just starting work on the rest of the colors as it appears no issues have been found with what little changes I have made.
Just an fyi... im using the blackout red gb kb... i just went in with super manager and renamed the stock one and then pushed the blackout (just to make sure if it didnt take i wouldnt lose the stock one too) and all is good and this keyboard is SWEET

[Q] HTC_IME Keyboard on KaosFroyo V39

Hey is there anyway to get the HTC_IME stock eris keyboard that is on 2.1 and put it on Kaos Froyo 2.2? I tried flashing the Jonas Mod and also tried installing the apk files as well and I am getting nowhere. I'm not sure if its possible to install a sense keyboard on something like kaos froyo. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how to install it that would be great. I don't like the gingerbread keyboard that comes with the most ROMs. Thanks.

I have used jonasl lowres v22 experimental on every ROM I have tried - 2.1, 2.2, and now 2.3.
The .apk(s) I have been using are Clicker.apk and HTC_IME_lo22.apk. Install Clicker.apk first (iirc that's what the instructions said).
I have v27 as well, so I am sure I tried it at one time or another - there must be some reason why I am not using it, but I can't recall if there was a problem with it or not. I haven't had any troubles with v22 lowres on any ROM I've used it with.

I have Kaos Froyo v39 and I have found that using the above link to generate my own HTC_IME keyboard, v27, froyo lo-res, 1.6+, will create a keyboard that should work for you! I already downloaded a lot of the newer HTC_IME's and for some strange reason it wouldn't work! This finally did though, so I'm happy.
Attached is the file I use, let me know if it works for you!

[THEMEish] Theme Eraser for NFX and MikShift updated 4/4/11

This is just a zip you can flash to erase whatever theme you are using (for stock ROM). This will install all stock apps, stock frameworks, fonts and boot animation. I use this when I'm testing themes. Much better than re-installing stock ROM because you don't have to do any wipes (keeping all your apps and settings) and it will keep your OC kernel active. Also much quicker than re-installing stock or restoring nandroid

Ok, I'm coming from the moment and everything seems to be a little more confusing on the shift. I just perm-rooted my shift yesterday. Now I'm looking to theme it. I haven't installed any roms or different kernals yet, because I'm really confused on which one to do, cause a lot of them say something is broken.
So what i wanted to do was apply the cyan dragon theme. So I assume this theme eraser acts like a theme template and I have to use it before applying any theme.
Now the next problem I'm having I can't even download this or the cyan theme. Every time I click on the download link I get directed to the dropbox site and I get a 403 error. I even tried creating my own account and logging in and still don't know how to get the file. Don't know if its a dropbox problem but I've been trying since last night. I've never used dropbox before so maybe I have to do something different to get the file. Unless it's an xda thing and I don't have proper permission to download this file.
Any help would be appreciated, cause I really want to theme this bad boy.

This is not a theme template per se. You don't need to use this to flash a theme. This is for when (for example) your on cyan dragon and you decide you want to try a blue theme. This puts framework, apps, ect back to default (using nfinites rom as a base deodex) since not all themes have the same themed apps and you don't want to have some themed apps leftover on the wrong theme. This is also much faster than reflashing a rom, keeping all your apps and settings. If you're trying to flash cyan dragon then I recommend flashing nfinitefx45's stock 2.0 rom found in android developement first. The issue with the links is dropbox related and I'm planning on moving everything to multiupload later on today, then ill update the links.

Hey Dread,
If running the NFX Odex ROM, then which of the two versions would you recommend?

Its suggested to do so. If you flash a theme over a theme there might be residual themed apps leftover as not all themes theme the same apps.

[THEME](SWYPE Beta)3.25 + Cyan! + Alien-ized {Green.Cyan.Blue.Red}

Hey everybody, this is my Alien-theme-inspired modified Swype. I thought there would be some users here using Kenns Alien theme and would like to give their Swype keyboard some flashy Alien type look.
Swype (Beta) Version 3.25
Green
{qHD devices only!}
Cyan
-CyanogenMod<3-
Blue
-Check out AT(HONEYCOMB)RIX. Rom-
Red
-Take a look at the DarkSide. Rom-
This is fully themed for QWERTY only, both portrait and landscape. English/Spanish version only.
(Screen shot may be a bit greener/blue-er than it actually appears on screen)
[UPDATE: New Swype 3.25 no longer has green font color in the prediction bar, remains stock blue.]
If you have the stock version of Swype installed this will not work for you, Swype beta users only, otherwise the functionality will be limited.
Please follow this guide to get on the lastest Swype Beta and generate the proper licensing!
Before installing this apk please be sure to backup your current Swype app+data (TiBu)
1- go to the swype website, sign up for the beta. Save the email for the activation code.
2- download the swype installer. Install the installer and open it and let it install
The swype beta.
3- once its done. Back up with the new swype beta with titaniumbackup.
4- uninstall swype with titaniumbackup.
5- install themed swype... Should give you no trouble.
6- restore only the data from previous swype with titanium back up.
And then your all done!
If it fails to install, please report here... but this should work for anyone already running Swype Beta.
((Blue DONE and Red Finished... Requests??))
I hope you guys like this and it works for all of you.. Ill try to answer everybody that has questions or problems installing this.

thanks, great idea and nice job.
personally i would like something a little less flashy though, but with a similar color scheme to what you've done. maybe the same font as the alien 3 stock keyboard. just an idea.

thanks for sharing the link. I guess i figured most people would have already been on the latest swype. did my apk work for you? did you try it?
it should install over your current swype, keeping license intact. But if not i figured uninstall your swype, install this apk, restore data after. please let me know if it worked out for you

you need to have swype beta properly installed, with a generated license and all. you must be a registered user in order to generate it with the installer. modding the apk wont help you since you stated above that your swype isnt working. so youre right backing up your non working swype wont help, need a working beta.
this link above shows exactly how to get it working.
Alright I got swype working... The beta one atleast... but its so damn small...!!! So now what to get this alien working... Just uninstall this apk and installs the green one...?? If its the same size I don't even think I should bother : s

hmmm but swype usually isnt small it should take up like 35-40% of screen space, hope it recognized it as a qHD device. OR maybe you just like gigantic keyboards

Haha... Maybe... my favorite keyboard to date is the windows 7 keyboard... Sooooo sexy... And the touch tones are awesome... That dubbed out sound... Amazing...!!!
And yes got the beta working properly now... Look has improved alot... But keys too tiny I feel...and the predictive level I used to get on my sgs swype...
So your saying use titanium backup and back this up then uninstall... Then instal your version and restore app data only from titanium...??

just back up and try installing over it first. that should work, just so you dont have to hassle with the rest. BUT yes if you try installing the greenswype.apk and it fails then go ahead and uninstall and try from there...restore data only if it installs correctly..i really hope this works for all of you.

I kept saying latest Swype beta but theres a newer one out that most likely most of you are on. so if you ran the swype installer and are now on Version 3.6.84.26668, I will have that one themed in just a little bit.
