I may be pressing my luck here but anyone found a snap on plastic case for the G-tablet? Or know a place where I can have one custom made?

I would imagine it may be some time before we see something like that. With all the tabs coming out, manufacturers will be picking the big ticket items and making them for those. Until viewsonic fixes issues and makes this thing hot outta the box, we're still gonna be little fish in the big pond.

Xjarl, I would be more interested in a protective wrap around silicone case. I will buy one the second they are available.

I did get word that here are in the process of being made/designed and I have had pics for a week or so. Among other things, I choose NOT to bring things up until I have firm knowledge and/or have an them in hand that I can unload. For example; I don't want to say that I MAY have more docks within the week and them not show. I think it's better (and more respectful) to discuss it when it's in hand.
If your like me (and most of you are) when you see something that you want, especially something new and innovative, you WANT IT NOW!!! I am the same way and I'd rather not give false hope to anyone here.
With that being said feel free to pass the word and keep an ear to the ground. I am currently working on more docks (with extra ac adapters) and a verity of cases; leather with and without snaps as well as the 'shell' encasing that you saw above.
Again, I prefer to keep things quiet and to not have to keep up with PM's (and potentially lose any) and to not risk putting my foot in my mouth.
With that being said, I will make it public knowledge AS SOON as I have ANY product in hand that you may want. Also, as of right now; I strictly plan on selling anything I receive at my cost to XDA members. I'm not here to make any profits but only to contribute where I can. If I can't develop or help solve programming issues at least I can front some money and get stuff here for us.

I am working to get anything and everything possible here is the states. From what I know those 'shell' cases aren't complete yet. I have a couple of docks and I am expecting a few leather (or PU) cases in a couple weeks. I try to lay low until I actually have firm knowledge or something in my hand as not to create false expectation.

I would love one of those plastic shell cases. Whoever is working on these ought to consider putting some type of stand in the case, similar to the Archos 101.
Any news on this Steve. I see that one supplier has them listed on Alibaba, but after contacting them, they said they were looking for a new supplier.

Hi, I realize that there are a number of posts on this topic. Since there are a number I thought I would summarized it again.
I'm looking for a soft shell case / body shell. The leather cases are too bulky for around the house. No need to prop it up for viewing. Doesn't matter to me if it's rubber, silicone, plastic. hard or soft.
I'd buy one of these but I don't have a need for the other 99.

The wholesaler did reply. He says that he can't ship just a single unit, which he states in his ad. He gave me a email address of a contact in Texas.

Xoom dimensions are really close. Just looking for something thin for better grip that also absorb some of the shock should it fall.
Anyone see any silicone skins yet in the wild? I've exhausted my search and have yet to find one.
I would be excited to have this also. Just something to slide over it to protect it from scratches on the back and to protect the sides so I don't have to be so gentle with it when putting it down, lol. Being able to dock it while in the skin is a must though, but it shouldn't be too hard considering there is plenty of space on the bottom sides to wrap the skin around so it can still snap into the keyboard dock hinge.
i cannot believe there is no silicone gel case till now. There is also not many people asking about it. It seems like there is not much profit margin in selling gel cases.

I am in the ATL and got a chance to run by Case-Mate's headquarters today. Got some good info. they have altered all of their Galaxy S2 cases to have 1 cutout on the top and they are now universal for the AT&T model and the European model. They have the POP cases and Tough cases ready to go. The website was not updated yet though.
I grabbed a Tough Case today. I was surprised to see it is actually thinner than the Pop and the Otterbox Commuter (they had one for comparison). It has nice rounded edges and great feel in the hand. I have tried the AGP, Ballistic, Pop and Belkin and none of them worked for me. This one seems to hit the spot. I will try and post pics later.

Guys, just call them on their 800 #. They have a whole team of CSRs that will process your order right away. I went into the call center and they handled my order for me. That is the reason for my post. They have hem available now with the large cutout on top. All their GS2 cases are now modified. I saw black and white Pop cases modified, Tough Cases modified and the Barely Theres are already ok.
I like it better than the Otterbox for this phone. The rest of my family all have Defenders for their IP4s. I am a huge Otterbox fan. I tried the Tough for my Inspire and IP4 and did not like it nearly as much as the Commuters for both of those phones. The GS2 Tough is a different story. I like it much better than the Commuter. Its thinner and has better grip. Fit is awesome.
I am on the road traveling and cannot take any pics because the SGS2 is my only camera. I guess I could takes pics of just the case an upload them.

Here are a few pics. The case is awesome. I have been using it on the phone while traveling and its working out great. Had a co-worker comment on the fell of it when I handed him my phone. Buttons are easier to press than without the case. The case is fairly hard to install since it is so form fitting. Surprisingly it does not add much bulk.
To the poster above that contacted them. Sorry but you got an uninformed rep. The only way we figured this out was by physically getting the cases from their warehouse. I ask them to bring out the cases so I could see if I could alter them to make them work with my phone. To her surprise and mine, they already were set up to work for the AT&T versions. Pics prove it below and I did not touch this case. Hopefully you can tell. No reason to lie.

I talked to a rep and I also talked to a person in live chat, so I got two of them that are uninformed. I also sent them an email again making sure. I want to make sure I am sent the right one the first time. I am going to email them again. Do you mind if I use your picture for reference in my email?
My GF got a pink "Pop!" and it was for international version so she called and got the same sort of response. That they don't and won't have any cases except the ones that are at the AT&T store because they signed an exclusivity agreement to only sell the cases in stores or some BS. Bottom line is that they fed her the same thing, no cases for the AT&T SGS2 for a while. Whatever. Case looks good though bud, I might get one of those when they do come out to replace my Pop! as it is just a little big.
I don't mind if you use my pic at all. I will say after reading abacon15's post, I am beginning to wonder if I was the one that had the uninformed rep. She may have sold me a case she was not supposed to sell.
One more thing, my case came in the normal green and clear Case-Mate box. It was not AT&T branded packaging. No screen protector though. Not sure if it should have had one of those. I haven't looked on the website.

I get my upgrade in December and am looking to get the Galaxy S 2. I am using a Tough Case on my Inspire and love it. It has proven itself to as an extremely good case. I had it drop and hit concrete 5 times and the only thing it did was put a crack in the polycarbonate hardshell right next to the flash. I also work with tires all day and I would need this case for protection.

I emailed Carved to see if they'd be producing cases for the Nexus 6 since they currently make cases for the N5 and this is what I got back:
"We are continuing to add new products to the Nexus line. Please keep checking our site for updates!"
That sounds like a yes to me! Not sure how many people like/use these cases but their N5 cases look great in person. I got a buddy with a cedar case for his N5 and it's great looking plus feels good in the hand. They're wooden backed with a snap on hard plastic rubber edge and you can choose from a variety of design/wood types. They're not the most durable cases but if you're into cases that are borderline art, these are for you. I can't post links yet, this is actually my first post, but if you visit carved.com and click 'shop' you'll see a link to their current N5 case selection.

They're pretty low profile. I didn't have another N5 case to compare it to but the carved case didn't add a lot of extra bulk.
I have never heard of these cases before, but now I must have one. I really hope they add the Nexus 6 to their line.

Of a particularly relevant note here--they apparently do base what phones they offer cases for based on user demand, so it's actually kind of important to leave them a comment at http://www.carved.com/contact-us explaining why it would be a Good Idea to make a case for the Nexus 6. (One thing I did note to them is that--with a difference in scale, of course--the same template would be usable on the Moto X 2nd Gen AND the new Droid Turbo as pretty much all the Motorola phones are on the same rough body build. It does help in my case that I've built tooled leather cases for non-phone stuff, so I do kind of know what is involved in making a good case design. )

I've never been one to use cases on my phones but these are really nice. I've been intrigued about these wood finishes since I've seen the bamboo back option for the Moto X. Might have to pick one of these up. I'll shoot them an email to help them gauge demand.

I bought 2 solid wood cases for me and my wifes Note 3's and both cases broke within 2 weeks really bummed me out because that case always got people's attention. It was not from carved.com so i don't know if there solid wood offering would be more durable.

I wanted to let you know that Carved.com asked me to beta test a Nexus 6 case on the 25th, it should be here in the next day or two, not sure what the rules are about testing it so I will confirm if I can post pics and comment on it. But I wanted to share that it is making progress.
I decided to make a dedicated thread, as in two other threads a few people were interested. Currently, what looks to be the best fitting tempered glass screen protector is available only in Japan. In both black and white. I have no clue on what price we can get, but I will leave this topic up for a week, and if we can get enough people interested, I will contact the manufacturer and attempt to set a deal.

I'm interested assuming it actually fits the way that it should.
Edit: it looks like the price on their shop is around 32$ USD if you convert the currency. That's not bad if it works plus it looks nice. Its too bad iloome never came around and made one just like this.
I'd register an interest, but (1) I'd like to know whether it actually works - all we have to go on so far is the advertising material, and (2) I'm based in the UK, so a shipped-to-US deal doesn't help me.
If somebody on here could try one and confirm that it works, and they would ship to the UK (or ideally worldwide, given the global nature of this forum) then I'd certainly buy one.

No one is able to get just one, and if they ship to US we can forward to UK no problem. Currently, unless we find someone who lives in Japan and has an N6, willing to buy one to review it.. We have to trust the advertised video. However, I have never been disappointed with any products coming from Japan.. The Chinese knock-off.. well I wouldn't trust, although someone purchased one and will write a review once it arrives.
